Then, two days later, he was called into Kevin Dunn's office and made aware of what happened. He apologized sincerely and profusely, only for Dunn to bury him and the apology behind his back. That is the kind of petty, sophomoric, "you've got heat, brother" bullshit WWE wrestlers have to deal with on a daily basis.

I will give Gargano credit. A couple of years ago, I was sick and tired of him and wanted him to move to Raw or Smackdown, even if he'd be wasted, just because he desperately needed a change of scenery. Then The Way came along and he became an awesomely goofy midcard heel. The guy is extremely versatile. WWE should do everything it can to hold onto him, because he'd definitely be an asset to AEW. My guess is is decision will hinge on Candice's contract status. If she still has a couple of years left, I could see him staying put.

I definitely agree. But as you yourself said, his apology was shit and I have to assume the payoffs to charity were a company mandate. He hasn't said or done anything else in years, but he also hasn't atoned or issued a true apology in all this time either. If he does so now, after all this time, it's only because he's desperate for a job. Others have definitely said and done worse, but that shouldn't automatically excuse or diminish his actions (not that I think you're trying to do either - I know you aren't). I could see the Briscoes landing in NXT because WWE doesn't give a fuck about issues beyond lip service, but I'd be surprised if AEW took them. I guess we'll see what happens.

I'm guessing it does, if no one major has bothered to sign him by now. He never landed in AEW even though he has friends there.
