Star ratings really aren't something to quibble over. Wrestling is subjective, people will have different opinions than you. A match you think is a masterpiece someone else will think is only pretty good or maybe even pretty terrible. One of the things that drove me away from film criticism was the idea that certain opinions are right and certain opinions are wrong. Instead of that mentality people should accept the subjectiveness of what they are watching and choose to look at the meat of what someone is saying as opposed to just their star rating.

Sorry guys, I just don't see any problem with using botch, if a spot is messed up then go ahead and call it a botch, no harm, no foul.
-
Things like Dave's NJPW/WWE comparisons and him stating that sloppiness is somehow indicative of indie wrestling are not high points in his career.
-
Botch doesn't bother me, it's pretty much the same as saying an actor flubbed their line. Can't say I ever use wrestlecrap, and I guess I was never hip to the movez term because even when others were using it I would use regular old moves myself.

I think the Dust Brothers have been pretty much the best non-Titus O'Neill thing going in the WWE for the past couple of months.

I'm a big fan of his match versus Rey from Great American Bash '96, that's a MOTY level match for me. -

In that area I'd say Mongo was one of the best Horseman. He was no great shakes in the ring, but as far as living the Horseman way and playing up that image, he really got it. -
As far as the library goes, there's really no reason WWE shouldn't pick it up. Having as much content as possible for their Network is a must, and TNA helps to fill that need while also offering modern faces who fans can easily recognize.

That's exactly the opposite of how I would describe Busick/Thatcher. What I fins refreshing about those guys, and that can be specifically seen in that match, is how snug and tight they are with everything. It's a constant struggle with them. They don't just grab an armlock, they struggle for one and then really wrench it in. The effect that has is to make every second of their matches, and style, to come across as rugged and so much tighter, tougher, and earned through effort than anything else in the world.

Initially I don't think Angle was all that different. Yes, he had the Olympic pedigree, but his initial character was about how foolhardy he was in thinking he was the best thing to ever happen to wrestling. He was every bit the delusional heel who thinks he's the babyface, and that's exactly what Bo is currently. The key will be if they transition Bo into something more serious without dropping the comedy. He can still be the character he is, but other wrestlers will eventually need to take him seriously. If they book it so that others start thinking and acting as if Bo is legit, then the fans will view him as legit, while he still retains the comedy.
-
His character is basically Kurt Angle circa 1999-2000, and that had legs. I think Bo's character certainly has legs as long as they eventually start to take his winning seriously.

There's nothing wrong with being a mid-carder, or better yet with starting out as a mid-carder and working your way up the card.

Hopefully because they're realizing that Neville is hot garbage. Logically though they tape these way in advance, so when they taped last night's I don't think the Rusev push was in full swing yet.

Good Will Wrestling: Fixing the WWE Part One

For the sake of clarification the only WWE guys I had ahead of Titus when I made my list were Cesaro, Goldust, and Daniel Bryan. A few weeks removed from said list and I would now place him ahead of Bryan, and say he's neck and neck with Cesaro while still not having the year that Goldust has had so far.- 53 replies

You can make that argument, because his work over the past four months could be said to be better than every guy you listed. Six minute matches don't matter, it's what a guy/gal does in those six minutes that make them a good or not so good worker. Titus makes the most out of his six minutes. It could be argued that he's been helped by being left alone to do his thing on Main Event/Superstars while everyone else has been hampered by Raw/Smackdown/PPV booking and match layout. But, I can only judge what a guy does in the ring, and based on that Titus has been one of the best workers in the world, and the WWE for 2014. I fact I think he was number 19 in my top 50 of 2014 list, and only behind a handful of WWE guys, one of which, Bryan, he's now easily surpassed. I love great matches, I have an entire website dedicated to them. But, they don't tell the whole story. A great worker doesn't need great matches, he/she simply needs to give great performances in the matches that they have.- 53 replies

I don't see Zayn coming up anytime soon, and unfortunately I don't see him being put in a position that complements him. He's another Triple H guy, and that means he'll get caught up in all the BS going on between Trips and Dunn.

Good Will Wrestling: Fixing the WWE Part One

For me it was probably about three or four months ago. Dylan may have been hip to him prior to that, but that's when I started to take notice of how intelligent he was in using his size, working his spots into a match, his bumping, his selling, etc.- 53 replies

Playing it safe is one of the things that is killing the appeal of the company right now. The truth is that a new boom will never happen if they are afraid to take chances and continue to play it safe. Turning Cena could, and should, work and allow for freshness to once again enter the presentation of the company. There's no real reason I can see to not turn him, because while he may make money now he won't be around forever and if they play it safe with him until he finally rides into the sunset the company will be in even worse shape than it is right now.

You lost me when you said this, because not only is Titus a great worker the argument could be made that he's currently the best worker in the WWE.- 53 replies

It's all a question of whether or not WWE gives him the time to condition fans to accept his new style. If they allow him the time to present his mat based style the fans will come on board because they will be conditioned to like that style and to pop for the big moves that come from that style. If the WWE doesn't give Bryan time to recondition the fans to his new style, then he'll struggle to remain as over because the fans will still expect the old Bryan.
-
No, they need a bunch of guys like him behind the content. It would solve the problems of releasing things non-chronologically, or with wrong names/dates.

Still digging the show, but is there any way you guys could fix the mono nature of the audio? It's fine when I'm listening to it in my car, but I don't like putting in both earbuds when I'm listening to it at work and that's what I've had to do lately with your show.

If he were able to clear medicals I could totally see them using a big Angle return for Rusev's first loss.- 53 replies

I agree on most of the cast, but I'm not a big Chase fan, and outside of her CBB appearances Gillian Jacobs doesn't do much for me. I know plenty of people who love the show, but every time I try and watch it I get really bored, just not for me I guess.
