The F'N Super F'N Clash bay bay! I love the value you've put into the Awa. This is a roster I could see lighting things up in 1988 and I think it would have kept AWA afloat. "And finally, AWA scouts were in Japan and informed Verne about an American heavyweight making waves over there. Verne took notice and has signed the man they call Big Van Vader to appear at SuperClash. " Given the AWA history and bringing guys in, this works so well. Vader will come in with a name and push and we'll see him against the AWA's best. I am big on the Fantastics here... if I had their fgures I would have kept them but I like their role here and potential with some other teams. Nikita vs Slaughter... the 2nd money match right now in the AWA... gonna be tits!
-
The Rare Ladies match get the allure of the fans and makes the card a little more special... plus the Lumberjack match... I like different styles and ways to get the fans in the building to see what Music City is all about.
-
The Rock of the Dawn of War... consistency is king and now you've got so much to look forward to. I personally love the six-man titles but damn I always screw it up after I bring the titles in. Starrcade is going to be a big event and a turning point for the promotion. who will bring NWA into the final year of the 80s.... will the Road Warriors still be the top team in the world... there's a lot to be had here and some intriguing storylines to end one year and kick off a new one.
-
Nothing like a great Clash to keep the stories going. I will echo a lot of what other people have said... there's a lot of really good stuff going on here. I know one of your biggest dawbacks was not watching a lot of wrestling around this time but what makes it great is that we all pine for the old school way of wrestling and you're doing it with some big stars and very intriguing storylines. Think, rewind the game 4 years, the Sting and Luger duo plus Funk vs Dusty would have sold out a territory.... then you add in Piper and his stuff... now we've got Spivey/Horsemen... plus the tag titles and then we've got Butch Reed... this is an all star lineup from top to bottom. I appreciate the work you're doing here!

11/6 Prime Time Wrestling w/ Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan Prime Time opens this week with Gorilla and Bobby in a festive mood… we’ve got Thanksgiving decorations out and Survivor Series posters. Bobby says he can’t wait to unleash the real Heenan Family at the Survivor Series. Gorilla points out how we’ll hear more about that later… plus… the despicable act of Bobby Heenan and what he did to Hercules! Heenan says it is all about the family… the money he is going to keep after dropping Hercules could possibly get a new member of the family to join. Gorilla doesn’t think anyone would trust Heenan at this point and why should they! We’ll hear from Mean Gene in the Event Center this evening… he will have the full lineup for Survivor Series and what a card it is going to be. Live from Chicago, Thanksgiving Night, it will be a happening. Right now let’s head to the ring for our first contest! Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Marc Jacobs Bobby and Gorilla put over Hacksaw and his arrival in the WWF and how he has made a lot of enemies but a big friendship with the big guy, Andre the Giant. Heenan says that Andre doesn’t know left from right and aligning himself with Duggan is the worst possible move. Speaking of bad moves… Gorilla shows his disdain for Paul E Dangerously who leads the Nasty Boys into action! The Nasty Boys w/ Paul E defeated Tim Ray & Mike Donovan Gorilla and Bobby put over the Survivor Series and how this is a night that everyone gets a chance to shine. 50 of the top WWF Superstars will be in action and needless to say… only the strong will survive. Heenan says it will be the smart who survive and what he plans to do with Hogan and Roberts is nothing short of a nightmare! Hillbilly Jim w/ Tugboat Thomas defeated Sean Stewart Event Center w/ Mean Gene… it is all about the Survivor Series and we see the lineups for all the teams… Join us for the Survivor Series live on Pay Per View from Chicago, Illinois as teams of five strive to survive! Mean Gene: A couple of weeks ago… Bobby Heenan kicked Hercules out of the Heenan Family… he said he got some money for it… but in reality he’s going to get some payback when Hercules shook hands with the Hulkster From Madison Square Garden… Randy Savage defending against Hulk Hogan… “A really fun match that had a lot of heat and did a lot in 15-minutes. Savage is super over as a heel champion and Hogan is really giving him a chance to shine with his selling. These two took the fight outside of the ring and the fans ate it up. In the end we saw Bobby Heenan come out with Studd and Bundy and Haku (we'll show this on tv) to try and intimidate Hogan. This led to the Hulkster getting counted out when he was fighting the three of them off. We then see Hercules and Hillbilly Jim run out to the ring and help the Hulkster as they clean house and then shake hands.” Team Captains Hulk Hogan & Jake the Snake Roberts lead Hillbilly Jim, Tugboat Thomas, & Hercules against Team Captains WWF Champion Randy Savage and Ravishing Rick Rude. They lead members of the Heenan Family King Kong Bundy, Big John Studd, & Haku… it’s the Hulkamaniacs vs the Royal Family! Another big survivor series match announced will pit… Team Captains Rick Martel & Tito Santana lead Brutus Beefcake, Koko Ware, & Jimmy Snuka taking on Team Captains The Honky Tonk Man and Dino Bravo who will lead Greg Valentine, The Great Muta, and Terry Taylor… It's the Strike Force vs the Hart Foundation! Mean Gene goes out to say that these two teams have gone back and forth over the last couple of months and with the bad blood brewing… this one could get out of control quickly. Many people are calling the addition of the Great Muta to the Hart Foundation a game changer… but he will have some very tough competition across the ring from him. The Hart Foundation joined Brother Love for these comments… Brother Love w/ The Hart Foundation team… We have a special Brother Love and out comes the Hart Foundation team led by Jimmy Hart… we’ve got Honky, Valentine, Bravo, Terry Taylor, and the Great Muta. Muta stays silent the whole interview and stands eerily still. Bravo is flexing in the background and giving the fans the business. Honky is talking about how he plans to put an end to Rick Martel at the Survivor Series and then take his IC title! Valentine says he plans to break the leg of Tito Santana and end his career. Terry Taylor puts over his feud with Brutus and says that he’s got the perfect team and the perfect combination to condition the barber right out of the WWF! Bravo flexes and says he is the strong man in the world and the Strike Force are going to feel his power! The interview then ends with Muta spraying the myst in the air! Tito Santana defeated Reese Waters Bobby and Gorilla put over the Survivor Series and talk about some of the title situations here in the WWF. They wonder just when we’ll see Rick Martel and Honkytonk man, one on one for the title. Heenan says that Martel is running scared. Gorilla buffs at him… he wonders when Honky will sign the contract!?! The Killer Bees defeated Bryan Hendrix & Willy Vaughn The tag team survivor match is put over again. The return of the Killer Bees to the WWF may sting a couple of the competitors in the big tag team Survivor match but that only means more action for the fans. Heenan says he wants to see the Killer Bees take on the Rockers. Interesting contest… Event Center w/ Mean Gene… it is all about the Survivor Series and we see the lineups for all the teams… Join us for the Survivor Series live on Pay Per View from Chicago, Illinois as teams of five strive to survive! Mean Gene: Hacksaw Jim Duggan has made a lot of waves since coming to the WWF and he has made quite a few people mad including the Twin Towers. He got some big time backup last week when Andre the Giant agreed to be his Survivor Series partner Co-Captain. Team Captains Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Andre the Giant lead team members Ultimate Warrior, ST Jones, & Maniac Matt to go up against Team Captains the Twin Towers along with Bad News Brown, Kevin Sullivan & Mike Rotundo! It’s Gigantic Powers against the Twin Towers! Our final Survivor Series match will be the biggest of them all… two teams of FIVE TAG TEAMS… yes you heard it… 10-man teams… a 20-man survivor match… it will be electric. Team Captains Demolition lead the British Bulldogs, the Rockers, The Steiner Brothers, & The Killer Bees against Team Captains The Powers of Pain who will be joined by the Rougeaus, The Nasty Boys, the Conquistadors, & The Russians! Demolition have welcomed all challengers but the challenge of the Powers of Pain has been almost too much to handle. Could the Survivor Series be a place where the Powers of Pain regain their power over Demolition. Recent talks say that Mr. Fuji has not been happy with the Powers of Pain since signing them and going away from Demolition… and we know Demolition wants nothing to do wit Fuji… he may be out of the job! US Tag Team Champions the Rockers are also looking to make a splash… so many hungry contenders who want their shot at the tag team gold. The Great Muta defeated Bob Holly Bobby says he has spoken to representatives of the Great Muta and he is in serious negotiations with a manager here in the WWF! Gorilla wonders just what Bobby has been buttering him up for and Heenan just smiles and says he doesn’t know a thing… of course not. Brutus The Barber Beefcake defeated Jimmy Shaw and then cut his hair! We get Heenan’s take on Terry Taylor as he points out that Taylor is someone with whom he’d like to talk with soon… he wonders if that open spot in the Heenan Family could be filled by him… we’ll see…. Gorilla wonders if he will be able to cover the bald spot that Brutus gives him whenever they finally get in the ring! We go to our final segment with Gorilla and Bobby pumping up the Ultimate Warrior and his big match with Nikolai Volkoff tonight. We find out that Warriors addition to Hacksaw and Duggan’s team is one that may shock people but he hasn’t shown much intelligence since joining the WWF. Gorilla asks if he could join the family and Bobby says he doesn’t employ clowns… does Muta resemble that remark? Bobby says Muta has war paint. Gorilla says that the Warrior has War Paint! IT IS HIS NAME! Bobby is flustered and says roll it! The Ultimate Warrior vs Nikolai Volkoff w/ Boris A good showcase for Warrior who continues to rise up the ranks. He handles Nikolai and then Boris tries to get involved and gets rocked for his presence. The Warrior gets the big win but one has to wonder how he’ll do in the Survivor Series setting… especially against some bonafide giants like One Man Gang and the Bossman! All American Wrestling w Gorilla & Paul E A couple of good matches featuring the The Z-Man, Tugboat Thomas, Bad News Brown, Haku, & The Rockers. We also got a special Brother Love in which Kevin Sullivan and Mike Rotundo attacked Scott Steiner again. This came after Scott challenged them as to why they would be joining the Twin Towers instead of joining their team… Kevin said it was for the money and then Rotundo said it was for respect and cold cocked Scott which led to Rick fighting off both men. This one got pretty hot as Brother Love walked off the Varsity Club and Scott looks to have a busted eye.

WWF Presents: Madison Square Garden Mayhem The Nasty Boys w/ Paul E defeated the Killer Bees The British Bulldogs defeated the Rougeau Brothers The Twin Towers defeated The Varsity Club - Kevin & Scott once again got into a fight! Andre & Hillbilly defeated Studd & Bundy w/ Heenan The Rockers defended the US Tag Titles against Hercules & Haku (MSG hasn't seen tape from last night's show yet) Demolition defeneded the WWF Tag Titles against The Powers of Pain Tag Team Battle Royal Won by Andre the Giant! Main Event WWF Championship Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage (c) A really fun match that had a lot of heat and did a lot in 15-minutes. We then see Hercules and Hillbilly Jim run out to the ring and help the Hulkster as they clean house and then shake hands.

10/30 Superstars of Wrestling w/ Vince McMahon & Jesse the Body Ventura Honkytonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart defeated Mark Jefferson. We get an inset interview from Rick Martel who says he is going to put an end to the music that Honky pollutes the airwaves with. He has got a big plan to put him away on Thanksgiving Day! The Steiner Brothers & Mike Rotundo w/ Kevin Sullivan defeated Los Conquistadors & Rio Williams - Vince and Jesse put over the new Varsity Club but wonder just what Kevin Sullivan’s intentions are. Jesse says he is a great motivator like Lombardi… Vince wonders just what kind of Kool-Aide he is giving his men. We get some more issues with Scott and Kevin who argue with one another but Rick and Rotundo break things up. Event Center with Mean Gene… Gene puts over the big Survivor Series Pay Per View that will take place on Thanksgiving Night. Four huge matches have been signed with co-captains leading eight teams of survivors. We’ll see Demolition along with four other teams go up against the Powers of Pain and four other teams for a special 20-man… 10-team… Survivor Series match! Demolition has already announced that The British Bulldogs and Killer Bees have joined them… to which Mr. Fuji has brought in the Rougeau Brothers, The Nasty Boys, and the Russians! Gene then puts over the other matches announcing that Team Captains Honky Tonk Man and Dino Bravo will lead the Hart Foundation team against the Strike Force team with co-captains Tito Santana and Rick Martel. Tito and Martel are shown shaking hands and sealing the deal to be partners at the Survivor Series… Fans the Survivor Series is going to be something special… we look forward to seeing you on Thanksgiving Night! Terry Taylor defeated Bob Rogers. We get an inset interview from Brutus Beefcake who talks about the issue with Terry Taylor. Brutus says he has got his clippers all sharpened up and he can't take a little off the sides and perhaps one good cut right down the middle! Koko B Ware defeated Vic Michaels - Vince and Jesse put over the Survivor Series and all the top stars of the WWF taking part in the big event. Vince puts over how we’ll learn more about the teams next week and wonders just who will team with whom and how the teams will co-exist! We get a special Brother Love episode with Brother Love being joined by Bobby Heenan and Hercules. Heenan goes on a tirade about how Family is the most important thing. It is the thing that keeps everyone together and if you can’t trust the man next to you… then well… you have to get rid of it. We then see Bundy, Studd, Rude, & Haku walk out… they are behind Hercules… Heenan says that Herc is nothing but a Jerk and his time has come! Bundy and Studd hold him… Heenan pulls out his contract and then rips it up. Rude and Haku take turns pounding away at him in the stomach… Heenan grabs the contract and shoves it down Hercules’ throat! They leave him laying while Brother Love walks off with the Family! The Twin Towers w/ Slick defeated Erick Strong & Quincy Jones - Jesse and Vince put over the big incident with Hercules… he’s out of the Family… they pump up the issue with Hacksaw Jim Duggan and the Twin Towers… Duggan then welcomes in Andre the Giant and says they will be partners at the Survivor Series! Jesse and Vince are putting over a big night of action and then we hear the news everyone has been waiting for… it was announced earlier last week… tomorrow night… Halloween… MSG Mayhem… Hulk Hogan goes up against Randy Macho Man Savage and it will be on the MSG Network and other local broadcasts. The results will be gone through next week on Prime Time. We’ve got some great matches… let’s go to the ring! The Great Muta defeated Ryane Carter - Jesse and Vince put over how he may be the top pick for some of the survivor series teams while Vince points out that it may be the Ultimate Warrior who is the top pick. Jesse says that Muta would take Warrior out without a problem. We see Muta take out Carter and he continues to rise through the ranks. Premiere Contest - The Rockers vs The Iron Sheik & Ivan Koloff for the US Tag Titles - A good premiere match and the US tag titles look good around the waists of Michaels and Jannetty. They work the crowd and get some great pop. Ivan and Sheiky baby are on their last run for the WWF. We see the Rockers use their speed and then hit a big double dropkick on Ivan to set up the pinfall. Shawn and Marty hold the titles high in the air… is the sky the limit for these Rockers?

I echo a lot of what's been said... I am pulling for Orton now... never been a big rugged ronnie fan but he may have the power of the punch in his corner. I also love the idea of the 4 corners match... I believe Mid South had done some of these by this time IRL so its definitely ahead of the curve. The 3 on 2 Street Fight is right up the Road Warriors Ally... pun intended.
-
Von Erich/Freebird is usually good to sell some tickets... Sgt. Slaughter is a good name to have around at this point. I feel like AWA is a place where people can go to reinvent themselves and get back to their superstardom. That's a credit to your writing and how you book the shows.
-
I will echo Control's notes on the Backlund spot... it makes sense and definitely grinds his gears. For as unentertaining of a guy as he was in the early 80s, you've done some magic with him here. Again, PCW had a lot of shiny pieces that put together a great look with some amazing young talent. You know how I am though... always good to bring in some fresh faces to lift things up a bit.
-
I love the fact that Elizabeth is getting some shine and personality here. She was amazingly beautiful but I always thought she could have done a little more. When she did in WCW in the 96/97 run I really dug how versatile she was. I said it before - but after watching the Netflix Wrestler Series... I have a profound new enticement for your product. Keep doing work.
-
W....C...W You've got a lot going on here... plenty of stories to dig into and some more fruitful than others. Obviously the Horsemen is the top tier... we've talked... I kind of wish we could come up with something to see how different this could look with different figures in these spots. This is good stuff don't get me wrong but there's a part of me that has watched and remembers it and wouldn't mind seeing it a different way. But the forumla of Sting vs the Horsemen is always money. Same goes for Funk and Rhodes... I remember the legends of wrestling where Rhodes talked about him and funk in like 2006.... these guys had battles all over... Dr. Death and Dibiase is a team I am pulling for in terms of team of the year. They are an amazing mix of talent... lots of heat and pop when needed. They fit the bill here instead of a gimmicked tag team...
-
Sayama is Tiger Mask right? I remember begging my mom to order the best of the Japanese death matches... I was a very big Onita fan in the late 90s... just loved his stuff. Death Match wrestling has a place in our world.
-
Haku and Bundy are the latest additions... probably too much to be honest. Sorry - Koko, Rick Rude, Bad News Brown, Haku, Ultimate Warrior, and Superfly all walked away with victories.

10/ 23 Prime Time Wrestling w/ Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan Prime Time opens with Bobby Heenan gloating once again… Gorilla Monsoon is trying to get him under wraps but Heenan is all smiles. He says he can’t wait to show the world the NEW WWF Champion. Randy Macho Man Savage is going to be on the broadcast tonight and he’ll be joining Brother Love… who is recovering from a nasty DDT from Jake Roberts. We’ll see a special contest from SNME… plus WWF tag team champions Demolition in action… The Powers of Pain w/ Mr. Fuji defeated Bob Holly & Mark Starr We get an inset from Demolition who say that they are going to put an end to Fuj the Stooge once and for all at the Survivor Series! They’ve challenged the Powers of Pain to find four teams to join them… because they will be DEMOLISHED! Prime Time returns with Bobby ad Gorilla arguing whether or not Savage is a member of the Heenan Family… Heenan says he’s an associate… like a cousin… Gorilla says he’s a red headed step-child. Gorilla puts over the Survivor Series coming up next month… he wonders just if and how the teams will be decided… he knows that the Hulkster is going to be gunning to get his hands on Heenan and his family… Heenan says he has bigger fish to fry… like Andre the Giant. Heenan says that King Kong Bundy has issued the challenge… Gorilla can’t wait to see Andre take him out. King Kong Bundy w/ Bobby Heenan defeated Bob Ryder & Erick Manning in a handicap match… and even got the 5-count! We’re back as Gorilla and Bobby put over the SNME and put over the challenge from Jake Roberts to Randy Savage… but Heenan wants to talk about the challenge from the Big Bossman to Hacksaw Duggan. He once again that Duggan is sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong and now he’s going to get some justice at the hands of the Big Bossman! Hacksaw Duggan defeated Ken Storm Inset interview from Slick and Bossman… they put over this issue and want to know when Duggan is going to fess up and get in the ring with the Bossman. Slick says that he may have a red, white, and blue flag but all he sees when he sees Duggan is YELLOW! We’re back and hear from Bobby and Gorilla about the big US Tag Title match up and the Rockers walking away with the gold. Gorilla says he wants to see them against some of the top contenders… Bobby says he’s been talking to Paul E and he thinks that the Nasty Boys are going to be coming up the ranks… he points out the Russians… the Rougeaus… the Twin Towers… there’s plenty of competition not counting Studd and Bundy… or Rude and Bundy… or Haku and Hercules… Gorilla asks if Hercules is still with the Family to which Heenan snaps back with who? Wait… of course he is. Stop stirring up the shit Monsoon! Brother Love Show with WWF Champion Macho Man Randy Savage! Brother Love is sporting a head wrap from his DDT the other night. Savage comes out and he has got a White WWF Title that looks just sick. Savage then goes on a tirade about the peasants and the challengers… Hulk Hogan.. Yeah… you are now at the back of the line of a long list of men who will never be able to beat the Macho Man… dig it. I have a list of challengers a mile long and Hogan your name is at the bottom of the list! Know this Hulk Hogan… I could sign on the dotted line and beat you any day of the week and twice on Sunday! I am the WWF Champion because I am the best and your not… DIG IT! Now… now I want to talk about Jake the Snake Roberts…. What gives you the right to come out here and challenge me? Huh… what gives you the right to hurt my most loyal subject… Jake Roberts understand this… when you and I get in the ring it is going to be about the WWF title it is going to be personal! I am coming to cut the head off the snake and show the world that the champion rules over the serpent! OHHHHH YEEEAAAHHHHHH! Tito Santana defeated Jeff Cannon Event center brings us back as Mean Gene is putting over SNME. He says that the Survivor Series is the next big event for the WWF and he hopes to have team announcements as early as next week. Gene says that he did speak to two different men on the side of the same coin… Jake Roberts and Hulk Hogan… both had these words about the new WWF Champion, Macho Man Randy Savage… Hulk Hogan: Just when you thought it was done Savage… the storm started to calm but it is the whirlwind that the storm causes that is going to be your end brother. The way you went in there and stole the WWF title… hook, line, and sinker with Bobby Heenan. The Cage. Brother Love. The whole set up Brother… I should have seen it a mile away but instead I thought for a minute that you’d be a true challenger. I have heard stories of the Macho Man but now the myth and the legend is nothing but garbage. I am on a one way track to get my WWF Championship back Savage and trust me when I say that I am going to have no stops sings… speed limits… and take no prisoners! Jake Roberts: You know… Hulk Hogan has got a good point… he wants to get his hands on Randy Savage for revenge… revenge for stealing the WWF title… but Macho Man I have a different motive. Usually I keep it to myself to keep you thinking but I am letting the cat out of the bag… Savage… I am coming for you for the reckoning. The parallel lines that our careers have made without crossing is a gross miscarriage of justice… haha… justice… what a funny word… you see Randy Savage you have run from me from day one and now… now is your time in the snake pit brother… the walls are too high to climb and the caverns are to dark to walk through… all you can do is look forward… and guess who’s looking back at you… ME! Gene says he can’t wait to see what happens with those challengers… he does say that the Hart Foundation have made a solid claim to getting their hands on the Intercontinental Championship but Rick Martel has been able to keep the gold but for how much longer. Tito Santana has offered his hand to assist Martel but he has yet to fully accept it…will his hand be forced if he comes face to face with the Hart Foundation in the future? We return to Prime Time with Gorilla and Bobby talking about the WWF Tag Team Champions… Demolition… they have a major issue with the Powers of Pain and we hope to see them go to battle one more time before all is said and done… Demolition defeated Bobby Evans & Kurt Walker Fuji jumps in for an inset interview and threatens Demolition that not only will he have four other teams to join the Powers of Pain but they will ot even let Demolition make it to the Survivor Series! Our final segment is back with Gorilla and Bobby putting over SNME one more time… they talk about Savage and his challengers of Hogan and Jake Roberts. Gorilla then gets a note… he says that we’ll have more next week… but he thinks that Jack Tunney has named a time and place for a rematch for Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage! From Saturday Night’s Main Event ST Jones vs the Great Muta is a good cool down match. Muta has the look and the skills in the ring to just excite the crowd but also strike fear. He and Jones put together a fun 8-miute match with Jones showing some quick offense to get Muta going but the Pearl of the Orient has that little something special and a back heel kick sets up a huge Shining Wizard! Muta with the 3-count and the victory! Muta goes up and spits the myst high in the air… All American Results....
-
I think Last Stop was more referring to it being a title cage match with Macho but yea the formula never had it last and like I said, I did it this way to rebuild hogan after the match and thus will continue on tv
-
I can promise this is the beginning... parallels and sometimes interject... I can only say wait and see... especially as I am writing the show as we speak. I do love the feedback and the challenge to keep it fresh and entertaining.
-
I tried the formula of the SNME in the late 80s. Not only did Hogan lose but we had to get him back in the limelight. We needed his promo to get him back. Vince has to build him back up. I also need to build a quick challenger for Savage and thus Jake taking out Brother Love does that. I flirted with it being the final segment but I didn't think I would get all the extra stuff in that way and given it is 1988... people may not be able to see it or hear about it but if they tuned in late the news was there so they'd want to figure out what was going on with the rest of the broadcast. I could be wrong... but I liked the idea.
-
I tried to keep this one as snme as possible. I watched the 89 10/14 episode which I fee is the best and then drafted this around that. the hogan escape clause is the best and easiest way to garner huge heat and swap the title. I woke up with the idea one day and wrote this about a month ago lol if I make it to 91 ico pro will definitely be on the payroll. Coliseum video may be coming out with a special video this holiday season called Tag Team Seasons Beatings… be on the lookout
