AWA continues to be a mainstay in this world of wrestling with an amazing group of talent. Super Vader is rising, Douglas and Pillman are made for one another, and then Bob Orton is getting a title run/push that evaded him in the WWF... awesome stuff all around and this isn't even all the major players which makes it great.

WWF Presents: Prime Time Wrestling 9/15 Hosted by Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from: St. Louis, MO – Kiel Auditorium PT opens this week in historic St. Louis with Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura revealing shocking footage from this weekend when Hulk Hogan was arriving to a show… {We cut to the footage and see Hogan coming out of a car. He is mobbed by fans as he continues to walk and sign autographs. This is shot on “amateur” footage with someone holding a huge camcorder… but then out of nowhere we hear screeching tires as a car pulls into the scene. Hogan hurries the fans and children away and he looks at the car. Out of nowhere comes Dr. D Dave Schultz! He has a big piece of wood and he cracks it over Hogan’s back! We see him beating down the Hulkster before Brutus Beefcake runs into the scene and backs him off…} Jesse and Gorilla put over the scene and wonder just what Dr. D was doing here and if he did enough to cash in on the $100,000 from Ric Flair. They turn their attention to our two big matches tonight with Hennig and Roma taking on Valentine and Hercules, plus the tag team titles will be on the line when the Bulldogs take on Arn and Tully. Right now it is time to head to the ring for our opening contest… it is the Great Muta! Pedro Morales vs Great Muta w/ Mr. Fuji -A good opener but Morales isn’t quite what Muta needs in an opponent. His grizzled ways work well enough but Muta is getting over with his speed. A couple of nice moves and then a gross throat kick set up the big moonsault for the 3-count. We cut to Gorilla and Jesse who are joined by the Hart Foundation! The Harts are here and take exception to what Fuji said last week. They won the match fair and square and will give Demolition the chance to come back with their tails between their legs whenever they want. The Harts then go out to say they would like to see Muta and Muraco in the ring next week just to prove their point… Fuji and Muta come over to jab and accept as this one looks to be on next week right here on PT! *COMMERCIAL* {We see a vignette of a man walking down a hallway… you hear is footsteps and then see a club going across some bars… the camera pans up… the Big Bossman is coming back to the WWF and he has got justice and hard times to dish out!} PT is back with Gorilla and Jesse putting over the big TV title issue with Hennig and Valentine and our matchup this evening. They talk about how Roma was stabbed in the back by Hart and Hercules and tonight he will get some revenge! Curt Hennig and Paul Roma vs Greg Valentine & Hercules -A couple of big matches tonight on PT and this one is pretty good. Roma just doesn’t have what it takes to be a big name and you can tell he can work but the crowd just doesn’t love him and there’s not much to love really. Valentine and Hercules are a mix-matched crew that don’t quite fit. Hennig is the gem but he can only do so much. The finish sees Roma out of place and Hennig being double teamed. He gets thrown into the ropes and out of nowhere comes the Honkytonk Man… returning to the WWF… he has got a guitar and just DESTROYS it over Hennig’s head! The referee calls for the bell and Hennig is once again laid out and in a bad way… Hart grabs his crew and gloats to Gorilla and Jesse while Roma and Powers check on Hennig. He is struggling to his feet with blood pouring down, much like we saw just a couple of weeks ago. Gorilla and Jesse put this over and the HTM is back in the WWF and he is going to shake, rattle, and roll all over the competition! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Gorilla and Jesse sending it to Randy Savage who is on the little podium and he is with Mean Gene. They put over his recent title victory and how he has become one of the top wrestlers in the world. He says he has his sights set on Ric Flair, Barry Windham, Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard. He wants to show the world on Saturday Night’s Main Event that he and Hulk Hogan are truly the team that can take the titles and he will be a double champion. The crowd here is going wild and they love it. Nothing major other than Savage putting himself over and then he parades Elizabeth around to a great pop. Gene puts over the tag title match when we come back! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Gorilla and Jesse putting over the Horsemen and the title situation. They put over the tag titles. Tonight the British Bulldogs have the chance of a lifetime against the Horsemen but what will the cost be against a team who has literally beaten all in front of them. We head to the ring for this big contest! WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP The British Bulldogs vs Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard © w/ Bobby Heenan -Big time main event with so much on the line. We see a great 18-minute match with all four men getting involved. No one really shines more than the other but Dynamite does look good and Davey’s power is definitely on display. We see Heenan really working the crowd and the finish is hot. We see Dynamite and Davey looking to put away the Horsemen with a big powerslam by Davey and Dynamite goes up top. This is when Heenan gets involved and Davey has to push him to the ground before Barry Windham comes out of nowhere and thrusts Dynamite off the top rope, into the guardrail face first! The referee doesn’t see anything and he counts to 10. Dynamite comes up an absolute bloody mess. Gorilla and Jesse put over how the Horsemen have retained… Barry is walking them back up the aisle but here comes Blackjack! OH MY! Mulligan is here and he comes at Windham before officials and agents come to break it up! More on this next week! SNME XI 10/4 TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs Arn & Tully © w/ Bobby Heenan MAIN EVENT III 10/19 Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs Ric Flair & Barry Windham w/ Bobby Heenan

Very well put together show here to just continue to build towards in Your House. Some very big matches on the books so far and the stories are coming together. I think the highlight for me is seeing a guy like Razor get a nice rub and the focus on the tag titles. 95 was a rough year for tag team wrestling but here you're building some real value in the division. Then on top of it all you've got Diesel and Savage which should sell things out on its own. So much going on and its all good... look forward to more of it.
-
I think the thing to remember is that Saturday Night was still a major show at this point... you give it some real love here which helps keep the stories moving forward. You've got some real talent in the War Games which should pay off and then the rest of the card is coming together in a big way. Both WCW and the WWF have got some powerful cards coming up to put both promotions on the right track finishing 1995.
-
I've been tracking this project for some time primarily lurking instead of posting but I will tell you that this is definitely some really good stuff. Your ability to create these characters and put them into this environment that is make believe in a lot of ways but also something that could have and perhaps should have been done. Very good write-ups for the matches and the stories and it's been fun to watch it from the beginning to where you're at now.

The National Wrestling Alliance presents: Championship Wrestling from Hollywood! Presented from the Regent Showcase Theater in Los Angeles, California! September 14, 1995 {We get an opening segment of Dusty Rhodes welcoming Dan the Beast Severn to the arena. We see the NWA World Title and Dusty says he has got some big plans for the title and wants to hear just who the beast is looking at for the next challenger.} {We then see another scene in which a limo pulls up… out walks Ted Dibiase but he is not alone… what is going to have on CWH tonight?} -Scott Hudson and Sunny welcome us to the arena and put over the big night of action. Tonight we’ll see Chris Jericho in action along with Bam Bam Bigelow. Plus the big main event of Steve Austin vs Brian Pillman with Dusty Rhodes as the referee… what a night it will be but right now here comes the Sheriff… Dusty Rhodes and he is with the NWA Champion! Rhodes and Severn enter the ring and the fans are very big on the Beast but what is there to be excited about? Rhodes and Severn put over the history of the NWA title and talk about all the great champions in the past and how this title has been held by anyone who is anyone in this industry. With the Rebirth of the NWA coming to fruition… Dusty Rhodes thinks it is time to see who is the best in the world and Dan Severn thinks it is him. The Beast says he is will to face anyone to prove that he’s the best. Dusty says that he has spoken to the officials in the NWA and he has made the motion that over the next couple of weeks we will see a tournament with the top 16 wrestlers in the NWA with the winner being crowned the NWA Champion… fans seem confused… but then Dusty says that the title is always on the line because Dan the Beast Severn has entered the tournament and will be the number one seed! The Beast says he has won tournaments in the past and he will prove to everyone his might when he defends the title all the way through the tournament and walks away with the championship. -Then we see Ted Dibiase walk out and he is not alone with Sid, Terry Gordy, and Steve Williams. They come out to a chorus of boos from the fan and really have got some food heat on them as Dibiase enters the ring… Rhodes questions their motives but Dibiase says he is here for a purpose… he is here to introduce the world to the next NWA World Heavyweight Champion… SID! He says he knows about Rhodes’ plans for the tournament and he will do whatever is needed in order for Sid to walk out of the tournament with the title. Dibiase then asks Rhodes when he was going to talk about the tag team titles…. This goats Rhodes to say that in three weeks, on September 29th, there will be a 14-team tournament and the new NWA Tag Team Champions will be crowned in which Dibiase responds again that it will be Gordy and Williams and if Rhodes has got a problem with it… they will solve it. Sid and Severn go eye to eye as Rhodes says anything can happen and he will make sure it does when the brackets are released on October 5th for the NWA World Title Tournament! {We see Steve Austin looking at the monitor and he just snuffs it off and walks off with a pissed off look on his face…} *COMMERCIAL* -Jesse Ventura is in the back and he is talking with Dusty Rhodes… Jesse: Already Dusty? Already there are problems? Dusty: We’ve got some explosive identities here in the NWA Jesse… I think that when you get a group like this together anything can happen baby… Jesse: That’s exactly my point… we’re here for good things. I am excited for the tournament… but I don’t know if it has what I want in terms of contenders… I am going to be heading out for a couple of weeks and scout some talent… in my stead I am introducing you to my deputy… JIMMY HART {Dusty shakes his head and walks off while Jesse tells Jimmy to make sure he doesn’t get out of line… Jesse will be back in October and he is going to get things really cooking when he comes back! -Hudson and Sunny put over the two big title tournaments and the shocking news that Dan Severn will defend the title all the way through the tournament… what a moment that will be to see. They put over Jimmy Hart as the deputy here in the NWA and how will he mesh with Dusty Rhodes? They put over the issue from last week with Helmsley and Ahmed Johnson. Benny King vs Hunter Helmsley -A good showcase Helmsley who is an American blue bloods through and through. We see him work over King and finish them him with the PEDIGREE! -Helmsley walks over over to Hudson and Sunny. He promises to bring the gold back to the Queen where it belongs and he doesn’t care if scum like Ahmed Johnson gets in his way. He will put him in his place right where he belongs… *COMMERCIAL* {We return to CWH with footage from Mexico of La Parka and Psicosis. They are shown doing some crazy stunts and vicious moves that light up the crowd.} -Hudson and Sunny put over the talent from around the world that will be here in the NWA and how Dusty Rhodes has found so many great ones to come and take part and just who Jesse Ventura will bring back with him. One of the best prospects is a young man from Canada who has worked in Mexico and Japan and throughout the United States. We get to see him in action right now as we head to the ring. Chris Jericho vs Lance Wilder -A great showcase for Jericho who gets over with the crowd pretty easily with the long hair and vocal style. He looks like a rockstar and acts like one too and the fans eat it up. He handles Wilder with ease and lights up the crowd with the Lionsault for the victory. -He makes motions out to the fans but then looks in the aisle way and he notices Lance Storm standing there with a sour look on his face… from behind him it is Chris Candido! Candido whispers something to Storm and they walk off. Jericho doesn’t look happy as Sunny and Hudson put it over... *COMMERCIAL* -We return to CWH with Sunny in the back and she is joined by Marcus Bagwell and Scotty Riggs… the American Males! They put over the clubbing scene here in Los Angeles and talk about all the beautiful women. They point out they all pale in comparison to Sunny. Then we see Alex Wright come into the scene and he is dancing around saying that Los Angeles is hot but it has nothing on Berlin. Riggs and Bagwell brush it off as Sunny seems interested... Bam Bam Bigelow vs Jimmy Jackson -We are told this is supposed to be Buddy Landel but he has yet to arrive to the arena. Bam Bam is over like rover right now and he handles Jackson with ease. The highlight is the moonsault off the top rope for the 3-count. Bam Bam makes a name for himself here and he is a contender in the NWA! {We cut to the back where Buddy Landel is showing up late trying to get into the arena. Security isn’t letting him in and saying that the show has started. Budrow isn’t too happy with what has gone on here and grabs his bags to get back in his car and speed off…} *COMMERCIAL* -CWH is back with Hudson and Sunny putting over the night and all the big names we’ve seen coming into the NWA. They talk about how next week we will see the team of Chris Candido and Lance Storm in action. Plus we will have Cactus Jack here along with six-man tag team action with Gordy, Williams, and Sid. Right now we’ve got a return match for our main event as we head to the ring… MAIN EVENT SPECIAL REFEREE: Dusty Rhodes Brian Pillman vs Steve Austin -Hudson and Sunny lay it all out on the table with Dusty being the referee. He is going to be double tough out there and he showcases his authority early on. We see a little catch as catch can with Pillman and Austin who have some fun in the ring trying to one up one another but neither coming out ahead. Dusty is trying to keep them going but both men continue to posture and work the fans. Austin gets right in Dusty’s face as says something to which Rhodes looks out to the crowd and threatens to hit Austin but nothing doing. We see the men continue to a little series with both men working the arms and then they crash into Rhodes. Dusty pushes both men back and now it is Pillman in Rhodes face. Dusty backs him off and Austin with a roll up for a 2-count and now Austin is in his face. Dusty is starting to get riled up now but stays level enough. Then it happens… Pillman gets behind Dusty and is trying to get at Austin but he ends up grabbing his arms and Steve Austin comes with a right hand and just CLOCKS Dusty Rhodes! Pillman and Austin just lay into Rhodes like they were stomping a mudhole dry and Dusty is in a bad way! -The scene continues with Austin and Pillman kicking and stomping on Rhodes. The crowd is indifferent with some cheering and some booing. Hudson and Sunny put it over and can’t believe what is going on but then we hear an eruption when out of the back runs Dustin Rhodes! -Dustin Rhodes is here and he comes to make the save on his father! Austin and Pillman leave the ring and work the fans. Jimmy Hart is out here trying to get control… The crowd is heating up for this one as Hudson and Sunny send us off with Dusty Rhodes laying in the ring a battered mess... -
You and I spoke already and I am pretty excited about the outlook of Nitro. You continue to find the fine line between angle/match. With an hour... really 45 minutes... you put a lot into the show. I think that you have the opportunity to get a better idea on who you have and how to use them over the next couple of weeks as we are so early in this project to make any kind of assumption yet. The main event talent is strong and with the rest of the pieces coming into place, this will be a fun evolution of Nitro to see just how it would compare to what happened IRL.

Lots of excitement after the NWA Championship Wrestling tapings and then early reports of ratings seem to be positive. The true problem is that it is regional at this point but NWA officials are trying to negotiate with a bigger company and could get into Dish but again, not everyone has a Dish and the viewership will be nowhere near the levels of the WWF and WCW. Some officials are reaching out to ESPN and MTV to try and get a deal together but nothing is in place. With wrestling right now, it would take a monster product to get national television and even with that, the NWA doesn't have the notoriety to get a prime slot. Their best bet may be to get on either of these channels and then try to utilize a Friday night slot and turn it into something better. With all the sports on ESPN, it may prove to be difficult to get consistent viewing. With MTV, they may just not be in the market unless the NWA can prove to be a viable commodity that will make MTV money along with help with cross promotion. For the time being, they must find a better suitor to get a deal done and if they don't by the end of the year it may be a short rebirth for the NWA. A lot of positive praise for the way that the show came off. Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit were given bonus' by NWA officials after their match for really putting on a great match. This is said to be the staple of the NWA for the foreseeable future with heavy wrestling and heavy stories to supplement. Look for some up and comers like Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, and Chris Candido to be solid television performers with guys like Hunter Helmsley to supplement with more story. Then you look to your big names with Sid, Cactus, Bigelow, Gordy, and Williams to be the ones to really be the draws while Austin and Pillman will be utilized as true stars of the promotion. The call to keep Jesse Ventura out of the booth was made at the absolute last minute. Ventura got cold feet after he was approached. He is currently the Mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and was looking to transition back to wrestling once his current term is up. Ventura didn't think he'd be good in a weekly role but would like to be part of the promotion still. When Sunny was called up she was ecstatic but Scott Hudson had some reservations. He is a consignment pro and has taken it in stride. It is said that Hudson is spending a lot of time with Sunny to get a better rapport and that should transcend to the show over the next couple of weeks.

very fun show top-to-bottom. I really appreciate your ability to write for each of those different characters and make it believable. To top it all off you have James E cornet and Paul E Dangerously going toe-to-toe in the land of extreme which of course would put butts in the seats and make for some absolutely entertaining television. The fun thing about ECW during this time was how the TV was utilize from the live shows. I'm interested to see how this plays out long-term in regards to angles and other motives behind matches and pairings. I look forward to a lot more of ECW crapping on everybody else as a way to get themselves a head when we know that they belong in their own way.

The National Wrestling Alliance presents: Championship Wrestling from Hollywood! Presented from the Regent Showcase Theater in Los Angeles, California! September 7, 1995 We open to the Regent Showcase Theater in Los Angeles with a capacity house as the NWA has been reborn! The lights go down and then we hear some western music and out of the back walks none other than… DUSTY RHODES! Dusty Rhodes: Ladies and gentlemen… I want to welcome you to the rebirth… I want to welcome you to the revolution…. I want to welcome you the National Wrestling Alliance and Championship Wrestling from Hollywood! There’s a new sheriff in town and his name is Dusty Rhodes and daddy I am walking tall, taking names, and kickin booty! I want to tell you people a story… I want to tell you about the oldest governing body in professional wrestling and how it got pushed to the wayside by a billion dollar television conglomerate. I want to tell you about a championship built that was $50,000 to carry but worth millions of dollars to hold. I want to tell you about a dream, if you will, that has become a reality in the city of angels! {The crowd is giving Dusty some real love here} Dusty Rhodes: Now when you look at the history of the NWA you will see some of the greatest champions in the history of this sport. You will see some of the toughest battles and the bloodiest feuds and that’s what we are bringing back right here with the Rebirth! I want to introduce you to two men right now… first off the man who is going to be calling the action… a man who knows a thing or two about a thing or two… ladies and gentlemen… Mr. Scott Hudson! {Scott Hudson waves from the announcer's booth…} Dusty Rhodes: His partner in crime if you will…someone who isn’t afraid to take it to another level and let you know what is going down baby… for the first time ever… ladies and gentlemen… SUNNY! Dusty: Now I am ready for a great night… I am ready to kick the NWA off in the right direction…We are going to be putting together something special for the NWA World Heavyweight title... {Then we hear some music and out walks Jesse the Body Ventura! Jesse comes out to a huge pop and the fans are going wild here in LA. Jesse Ventura walks right down and steps in the ring...} Dusty: What do you need here Jess? Jesse Ventura: That will be Mr. Ventura Dusty Rhodes… you see...every sheriff has to answe to someone… and here in the NWA… you Sheriff Rhodes are going to be answering to me! {Crowd pops} Jesse Ventura: I know you have a history of putting your own agendas in front of everyone else… and because of that I am going to do some checks and balances if you will. This is my town… this is Hollywood… I am the man who made wrestling famous in LA and I am going to bring it back again… but because of that I can’t be here week in and week out. I will always be watching but I am going to have a deputy. I am going to have someone around to make sure you just don’t pull rank and do whatever you want. Dusty Rhodes: Who is that gonna be? Jesse: He will be here next week with me… but I wanted to bring someone out right now… someone that you know very well. Someone you have had a history with… someone who I think is a world championship contender... {Then we hear some generic music and the crowd stirs as Steve Austin walks out to the ring and he isn’t stunning right now… Jesse Ventura walks past him and shakes his hand as Austin is pissed right now heading into the ring...} Dusty Rhodes: What do you need out here Steve? I didn’t know we finalized things to have you around... Steve Austin: That’s funny Dusty… I haven’t been scheduled to do much of anything for quite some time. I mean hell… when you were in charge down in WCW, I wasn’t scheduled to do much other than show up on the C show… now you’re here in the NWA and hell… I am not scheduled. I don’t thank too many men but damn son… Jesse Ventura saw something… he saw enough to give me a chance and here I am… something you never saw... Dusty Rhodes: Brother we don’t need to bring up the past… Steve Austin: See that’s where you're wrong there sheriff… you see the past kind of develops who you are as a person and hell son...I am a pissed off person and I have been for a long time. Dusty Rhodes: Let me tell you something right now… it is not the time… you gotta talk to me… you do it in the back… Steve Austin: I don’t have too many words for you Dusty… I would rather just kick your ass… {Dusty and Austin are now eye to eye and then we hear some different music and now we see…. BRIAN PILLMAN! We also see some officials come down….} Dusty: Alright, fellas… what do we got going on here? Brian Pillman: Well big Dust… I have a lot of the same issues that Steve here has… but I am not going to come out here and complain like him… I am out here to do something. You see you were about to talk about the NWA World Title and I would love the chance to show that I am championship material. Steve Austin: Listen there Brian… there’s a reason we weren’t a tag team for too long… that’s because you aren’t championship material… Brian Pillman: That’s funny you say that Steve… the way I see it… you were always in my shadow and it was just too much for you to swallow… hence me breaking things off… Steve Austin: Well like the sheriff says… the past is the past and the future is now and I can tell you that you have got an ass whooping in your future if you keep running your mouth! Dusty Rhodes: Hold it fellas… hold it… this may be the old west… I may be the sheriff… but there will be some law and order… and that means you will follow the law of the land and that law says that if you got an issue: you settle it in the ring and tonight… you two are going to be right back here and boys… we will see who has got championship material and who just don’t! *COMMERCIAL* Todd Hudson: Welcome back to NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and Sunny... it is a honor to be sitting next to you and calling all the action… Sunny: The pleasure is mine Hudson… and just so you and everyone else out here knows… I will only be available between shooting my next Hollywood blockbusters… Todd Hudson: Hopefully those won’t be too far apart…. But Sunny we have to talk about Rebirth… the NWA is back… Dusty Rhodes is the new sheriff in town… Sunny: Well Rhodes may be calling the shots but I hear that there is someone else really calling the shots who is telling him how to steer the ship… and that is Jesse Ventura! Todd Hudson: It may look that way...I wonder who the deputy will be? Sunny: I told him I would gladly take the job… I am the world’s first female commentator and I might as well call the shots anyways... Todd Hudson: Sunny it is your world and we’re just living in it… Sunny: Don’t forget it… Todd Hudson: With that fans, let’s head to the ring for our opening contest. One Fall - 15-minutes Eddie Guerrero vs Chris Benoit -These two guys come out to good ovations. Both have a cult following and have got some fanfare here. We see both men test the other and they pull out all the stops. We see Eddie fly around the ring and Benoit show off his technical skills. The highlight is seeing Benoit outside the ring and Eddie run and jump up on the top rope and dive with a high cross body into the aisleway! These guys bring it back in the ring as we hear Gary Michael Cappetta announce that we have less than 5-minutes remaining and these guys go balls to the wall. We see Eddie with a couple of huge forearms and then he hits a nasty brainbuster. He goes up top for a frog splash but Benoit moves and Eddie comes crashing down! Eddie works his way up and Benoit ducks a clothesline and grabs him for 1…..2…...3 German Suplexes and then he holds for the 4th and the 1…..2…...DING DING DING! We hit the 15-minute time limit and we end in a draw! Both men get a standing O from the crowd as this has started off in grand fashion… more NWA action when we come back! *COMMERCIAL* -We cut back to Hudson and Sunny who are putting over the first big match and the 15-minute draw. They also talk about the NWA World Champion Dan Severn and how he will fare here in the NWA. They put over tag team action here in the NWA and then we cut to the ring for our next contest… One Fall - 15-minute Time Limit The Headbangers vs Harlem Heat -The Headbangers come out to try and mosh with this LA crowd but they aren’t overly big on it. The Harlem Heat get more pop than heat with the crowd. This one goes about 8-minutes and we see some really good action from Booker T especially but it is the power of Stevie Ray that sets them apart. Then we see Mosh and Thrasher double up on Stevie to slow him down however a nasty low blow on Thrasher sets up Harlem Hangover from Booker T! They get the cheap 3-count and the crowd is lukewarm. -We then cut to the back and see a man standing against a wall… a barbed wire baseball bat comes down from his arm and then is pulled up the wall… he turns around… it is CACTUS JACK! *COMMERCIAL* -Championship Wrestling is back with Hudson and Sunny as they put over the team of Harlem Heat. They talk about Cactus Jack and just how unpredictable he is and his presence in the NWA will be felt on many levels. We then cut to the ring for our next contest but before the camera pans away we see Hunter Helmsley and is he completely appalled by the crowd here in Hollywood. He says this is supposed to be the city of angels but it looks like the devil came and took a stool sample and it grew into this city and these people! {The crowd then pops when out of the back walks Ahmed Johnson!} -Ahmed comes over and he just stares at Helmsley who doesn’t flinch… Ahmed then goes in the ring for our next matchup… One Fall 15-Minutes Time Limit Ahmed Johnson vs Ryan Shaw -This one goes about 2-minutes and that is because Ahmed was staring at Helmsley the entire time. Helmsley is sticking his nose up at him and snickering with Helmsley as Ahmed picks up Shaw for the Pearl River Plunge and the 3-count. He looks out at Helmsley and challenges him to get in the ring but Helmsley backs up and just smiles… he are winning in the mental game but that won’t last long if it gets physical with Ahmed! -We then cut to another little video and this one sees a fire… it is getting brighter and bigger and then it goes out…. And from the ashes we see a head...covered in flames! *COMMERCIAL* -CWH is back with Sunny and Hudson putting over our main event and also how next week we will see the return of the NWA Heavyweight Champion… Dan the Beast Severn. Plus we hear that Ted Dibiase will be here with what he calls the NEXT NWA CHAMPION! Right now we head to the ring for our main event. MAIN EVENT Brian Pillman vs Steve Austin -A fun dynamic with these two guys who work the crowd into a frenzy to get going. This is the ECW style Austin who looks like he could care less and then the 95 Halloween Havoc Pillman who is just an absolute wild man. They start to work over one another but before too long the fight goes outside the ring and then we see the referee get pushed to the ground by Austin. He gets back up but then Pillman runs him into the guardrail. We see another official come out and try to break this up but now Austin nails him with a nasty right hand and he goes down. We hear the sound of the bell a 3 more officials come out and Dusty Rhodes then comes down to break it up… he grabs the microphone… Dusty: Listen to me… listen to me… I am not sending referees out here to get assaulted… you boys gotta find a way to solve this thing…. {Pillman yells for Dusty to take over…} Dusty: Well maybe I will do that… we are outta time this week… but next week… in this ring… I will be the sheriff and you two gonna duke it out… there will be a winner! -A fun end to the program with Austin just going off on Rhodes and yelling at him while Pillman continues to try and hit at him. These two will do work next week in a one on one match but this time Dusty Rhodes will be the one to try and control the action. See you next week!

WWF Presents: Prime Time Wrestling 9/8 Hosted by Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from: Worcester, MA - Centrum PT opens this week with the return of Blackjack Mulligan and Andre the Giant. We also hear from Jesse and Gorilla who put over the big bounty of Hulk Hogan. They talk about how anyone could cash in on that $100,000 and the Hulkster could be in real trouble. We also hear about the next big SNME that will be held on October the 4th and already signed will be a tag team match of monumental proportions when Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage have signed to take on Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard with the WWF Tag Team Titles on the line if they are still the champions! Next week Arn and Tully will defend against the British Bulldogs! We will hear from many throughout the evening but right now we head to the ring for our opening contest… Curt Hennig vs Dennis Stamp -Easy enough opening contest for Hennig who puts Stamp through the ringer before hitting the Fisherman’s Suplex for the victory. Jimmy Hart, Greg Valentine, and Hercules all join Jesse and Gorilla and put over how they are not done with Hennig and how he will not only have to give that title up but they may stuff him over the mantle. This draws Hennig over but out of the back walks the team of Jim Powers and Paul Roma! We see what went down last week and we hear some jawing and jacking before we went up with a tag team match next week… Hennig and Roma vs Hercules and Valentine! *COMMERCIAL* {We see a fun promo from Hulk Hogan saying that he doesn’t care how big the bounty gets… it will never be able to take down Hulkamania!} PT is back and we see that Fuji is here with Muraco and Muta. He says Demolition is right where he wants them to be and he has filed a suit against Jack Tunney to get them reinstated. He says he holds the Harts personally responsible and will look for revenge when Don Muraco and Great Muta team up to take them down! Sting vs Barry Horowitz -A good showcase for Sting but the Warrior is nowhere to be found? We see the big Stinger Splash in the corner and then the high cross body for the victory… Sting goes over to the announcers… Sting puts over how Warrior was here one day and gone the next but that won’t keep him from taking on the Nasty Boys! He says he can be nasty with the best of them and somewhere out there, there is a partner who will join him to take them on! {We see a fun little hype video for the return of Brutus Beefcake to the WWF!} *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with a fun Horsemen promo… Heenan puts over how people are coming out of the woodwork to try and take down the Horsemen but it can’t be done. He puts over how Barry Windham is guaranteed an IC title rematch and it must be enforced! He will take this all the way if he has to but President Tunney needs to make a ruling. Also, why is it everyone is getting shots at the tag team titles? What is the deal here? Who is causing all this? Arn and Tully piggyback on with Heenan and ask the same question as to how and why everyone is getting a chance at their tag titles. The more they challenge the more that the Horsemen win and they are okay with it but know that someday someone’s luck is going to run out. They put over how it was the Rockers, now you’ve got Tito Santana, then you’ve got the Harts, and next week the Bulldogs plus Hogan and Savage. They will be known as fighting champions and when all is said and done they will still hold the gold. They wonder if Hulk Hogan will even make it to SNME as they have already heard about someone coming to cash in on that bounty and he is a bad, bad man! Barry Windham comes right out and says that pulling Blackjack Mulligan into this issue has caused a bit of a rift. He wants everyone to know that he and Mulligan are very close but he knows what side of the line he is on and that’s with the Horsemen. If Mulligan decides he wants to cross the line then he will have to answer to Windham and that answer will be swift and full of vengeance and anger! Ric Flair is in prime mode here as he says he has been answering calls all week on the $100,000 bounty and he knows that Hulk Hogan is looking around every corner. He is peeking through every window. He knows that Hogan will have to answer for what he’s done and pay his dues at the hands of the Horsemen. He then turns his attention to Blackjack Mulligan. He asks if Mulligan met Wahoo on his way out the door because the Horsemen ran him out of this business. Then he brings up Andre. He says that Andre the Giant has been chasing him for years and trying to get the World Title but there ain’t a man alive who can take it and that goes TWICE for Andre. Whenever the big man wants his shot… come on down and try the Nature Boy…. WOOOO!!!! Jesse and Gorilla put over our big main event with Tito and Duggan taking on the Russians when we get back! *COMMERCIAL* {We see a fun video of Randy Savage putting over his victory over Barry Windham. He announces that he will be here on PT next week and he will have Elizabeth and his title with him!} MAIN EVENT Tito Santana & Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs The Russians w/ Slick -Some really nice heat with the Russians and Duggan who is chanting USA… USA… USA all over the arena. We get a fun little 9-minute match with the highlight being Tito hitting Boris with a flying forearm and then Duggan coming out of nowhere with a clothesline that takes him out of his boots! Hacksaw and Duggan get the three count and work the crowd only for Arn and Tully to run into the ring and attack but then we see Barry Windham run down but he is stopped by Blackjack Mulligan! Gorilla and Jesse put this over in a big way before we fade out… next week the Horsemen defend against the Bulldogs and Randy Savage will be in the house! Who will cash in on Hogan?!?

A little more movement... Jimmy Hart has signed with the NWA and Bob Holly has been released to keep within the cap.

I was going to say that WCW vs the World would be pretty high on the list given all the talent in that game. I wish it was just better than it was but oh well. I really enjoyed Rumble for the Sega growing up with Crush and then with Diesel on Raw. Those were great games. I would have liked to see Showdown Legends of Wrestling on here and how it would compare. That roster was sooo good even though the previous games had a better story mode with the made up territories. Thanks for the fun read.
-
The rumors are true... the rumors are true... Randy Savage shows back up in the WWF and he stakes his claim for the World Title right off the bat. I think he has a great style for a guy like Diesel and that title could seriously be up for grabs. Bret and Lawler have a lot of history at this point and a cage is a good way to finish it and move on to other pieces. Shawn and Jarrett of course have some things going on with one another... one has to hope that HBK doesn't hang out with any marines this time around. I like the push of the Headshrinkers as they were a good team around this time... perhaps not as great as Meng and Barb but definitely a fun pairing. I see a lot of great pieces. I see some good writing. I see some great stories beginning... this is a great way to kick off the WWF at this point.

I worked it out to get Gary Michael Capetta as the announcer and then Charles Robinson and Mark Curtis as the referees. If you guys have someone you don't plan on using in that role the magic number of three refs would be great. Just let me know who you don't need anymore.
-
Bobby Eaton, Bob Holly, and Mike Rotundo have signed on with the NWA
-
I really enjoyed this first episode. Very good use of Hogan and Flair which can be difficult given this time period. You almost lose track of the matches with the angles which makes you wonder which is more important. I'm excited to see your balance over the next couple of weeks.

Mulligan took the quick flight from Richmond to Providence the next day. HTM man does a good job here of getting heat and then the payoff with Idol is awesome. I like the way you are using Ole and Ivan here. They have value at this point and could still roll with the best of em. For major programs they may struggle but still can fit the bill in late 86. Of course you know I am high on the Twosome and how they are used and how this course of the game could have changed Rude's trajectory had he not went to the WWF and stayed NWA. -
WWF Presents: Prime Time Wrestling 9/1 Hosted by Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from: Providence, RI – Civic Center PT opens this week with some footage from SNME and we see Gorilla and Jesse putting it through the roof but it doesn’t last long before the Horsemen come out. We hear from Heenan who is irate and is saying that the cameras didn’t catch Windham getting out of the cage first! He was the one who landed first and he should be the champion! Flair says he has got the briefcase ready and he knows wherever Hulk Hogan is… he has got a target on his back and he is going to pay for it generously for someone to just take him out. Then we catch Arn and Tully putting over the Rockers but saying they couldn’t get the job done. They talk about Tito and say he will be in the same boat when it is all said and done… but that brings out Santana. Arn and Tully want the match right now but Tito says that he partner is still getting here… he had to take a longer flight but he will be here for the main event! We’ll see what happens when that goes down as the crowd is white hot for our opening contest…. Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Conquistador II -A nice little showcase for Duggan who handles the Conquistador with no problem. The big clothesline is all she wrote and Duggan looks strong here. -We cut back to Gorilla and Jesse who are joined by Demolition. We hear from them as they talk about how they are going to be next in line for a match with the Horsemen after tonight… but if they have to face Tito and his partner then they wouldn’t mind that either. Duggan comes over and celebrates with them that they kicked Demolition out of the USA and don’t think that they won’t do it to anyone else who they fell like! *COMMERCIAL* -We return to PT with footage from the last couple of weeks with Paul Roma and Hercules. We see them teaming up but then breaking up after their loss to the Rockers. They join Jimmy Hart and it seems as though cooler heads have prevailed. They put over how there is a lot of Power and a lot of Glory and it really needs to be contained… they put over how they can be the top team in the WWF and it will be just a matter of time before they put all the pieces together. Jim Powers & SD Jones vs Power & Glory w/ Jimmy Hart -Power and Glory have seemed to work it out and they look good here tonight. Jesse said he spoke to the team and talked about how they have to find common ground and how important it is to work together and spread the power and glory between them. In the end we see the Power Plex and the three count. Hercules isn’t done though as he throws SD Jones out of the ring to the floor. Hercules then grabs the chain and he is choking Jim Powers out as the referees can’t stop him and Roma watches on as the crowd is booing… Roma then looks both ways and he comes out of nowhere with a dropkick on Hercules! He then comes with a couple of huge rights and lefts and then a big clothesline and Hercules goes over the top to the floor. Here comes Jimmy Hart and he gets rocked for his time! Roma helps up Powers as they have seemed to put their bad blood behind them. Jesse and Gorilla can’t believe it! *COMMERCIAL* -We return to PT with an Event Center in which Mean Gene is putting over SNME. He talks about all the winners of the matches and really hypes of Randy Savage as the NEW Intercontinental Champion. We see the Rockers put over as a team who deserves another shot at the tag titles. We hear about the Harts being in line as well. We see a special on the Great Muta who is said to be in line for a television championship shot if he continues his momentum. We finish by hearing from Hulk Hogan who has a bandage over his eye. He says that $100,000 isn’t going to be enough to put Hulkamania down and Ric Flair is going to have to dig deeper and deeper in his pockets if he can even think to find a way to stop Hulk Hogan from getting his hands on the WWF title again! *COMMERCIAL* We return to PT with The Horsemen out near the ring as Flair and Windham are nearby too. They are on the house mic putting over this match as we see Tito Santana come out and he says he found a partner who knows a lot about the Horsemen and he is going to help him win tag team gold again… BLACKJACK MULLIGAN! WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Tito and Blackjack Mulligan vs Arn & Tully © -What a surprise as Mulligan is here. Barry Windham doesn’t look happy about it one bit as Mulligan comes down and he and Tito have got ill intentions on their mind. They get into the ring and we see a fun 12-minute match with Tito and Mulligan really controlling the pace and the contest while the Horsemen are reeling. Tito has been a champion with Barry Windham in the past and now he is with Mulligan and lightning could strike twice. Windham and Flair can’t take it anymore and we see them get involved breaking up the match just as Tito and Mulligan looked like they could finish. We get an eye to eye with Windham and Mulligan that gets some fans excited as they know the story but it is foil for Anderson to chop the knee and them take control. Tully and Windham take Tito outside of the ring and start to wear him down but then the crowd explodes when we see Andre the Giant come out! Andre comes out and he grabs Tully and Windham and a double headbutt! He gets in the ring and tosses Arn Anderson over the top and then he looks at Ric Flair who is selling like crazy. He grabs Flair by the suit and my oh my we’ve got something brewing here as Andre tosses Flair over the top to the floor! The crowd is going wild! Gorilla and Jesse put it over and talk about the big MSG show coming up tonight! WWF Live 9/1 New York City, NY – Madison Square Garden Hosted by Gene Okerlund & Lord Alfred Hayes MAIN EVENT INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP CAGE MATCH Randy Savage © defeated Barry Windham SIX-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, & Tito Santana defeated Flair, Arn, & Tully The Russians defeated the British Bulldogs The Hart Foundation defeated Don Muraco & Mr. Fuji TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Curt Hennig © defeated Greg Valentine

He is with the WWF until January. I had something worked out with Gene for it. It went south with the rest of the happenings over the last month as others were involved like how the Warrior has returned to World Class full time.
-
Dusty Rhodes woke up this morning with an euphony if you will... he signed Brad Armstrong to come out to Los Angeles and be part of the NWA.
-
Hogan and Flair making teams for War Games should be a fun angle to watch unfold. There are a lot of great pieces to reveal here and I am looking forward to this version of WCW.
-
That's a great run-down for what is to come. You know the WWF would have to come back in a big way with Nitro and Savage would be enough in 1995 to get people interested but then build it up even more with a great match lineup.

-There are many rumors floating around right now with the resurgence of the National Wrestling Alliance. While the alliance itself has never been defunct, the idea of one major promotion holding the banner went away in the early 90s with WCW pulling away and releasing themselves the the title of NWA. These two tried once again in 1992 to get together but again, the relationship fell apart. The NWA has been relatively quiet until September 1st when it was announced that Dusty Rhodes was named interim President of the NWA and would begin operations with a new group of talent in Los Angeles of all places. -Why Los Angeles? It is said that there is a major Hollywood producer serving as the financial backer for the group and is said to have major pull when it came to contracts which explains the signing of big names like Sid, Cactus Jack, Bam Bam Bigelow, Steve Austin, and Brian Pillman. Rhodes himself has had issues with some of these men in the past but it is said that communication has been key to rebuilding the relationships. -When will it happen? Championship Wrestling from Hollywood will air this week on Friday September 8th. In order to save some money, Rhodes and the NWA has set up a television taping on Thursday night from the Regent Showcase Theater in Los Angeles. Rhodes is said to have signed Scott Hudson and a major name to do color commentary. -What does all this mean? When you break it down in means that the NWA is back and have aligned themselves with one promotion to make their name relevant again. With Rhodes doing the booking, anything could happen when it comes to the ring but it is known that Dusty can book but can he book in the 1990s, in Hollywood, without himself as the major attraction? The biggest problem is that they don't have a real television deal yet. It is said that Rhodes will be putting together a month's worth of tapings to send out as feelers to promotions to see who would be interested. MTV would be great, ESPN would be better but they can't expect to compete with WCW on TBS and TNT nor the WWF on the USA Network. With the mysterious Hollywood backer, will they ever get enough momentum to get on pay per view? Who would know about it and who would watch it? They have the names but right now their audience is limited. In order for the NWA to grow, its audience needs to expand and we will see if Rhodes can make that happen over the next couple of months or else the NWA may die once and for all.
