  1. Honestly this says so much about reddit's fanbase - and most smart fans trying to fit in. They won't consider a match unless it's approved by the entire community. Personally I think Rey-Finlay from Smackdown in 06/07 was better than a great deal of those matches. Why can't they find a match from memory and at least throw it in the list?
  2. So they're trying everything to make Roman likeable, is that it? At least it's the narrative of the dirtsheets. But then, in the Cena segment, they make the guy go to the crowd, and do an ironic "Let's go Roman" knowing the reaction would be negative. So maybe they're exactly where they want with the guy. They know Cena drew and made money for them, so all they need to is keep getting those mixed reactions.
  3. Booking her as the ace of the womens division probably wasn't a good idea. She had talent, although the "proud gamer" stick was cringe worthy. I remember fun stuff with Kaetlyn, but the match dynamic with a bigger girl is always easier because the storytelling aspect is implicit in the match.
  4. They don't really need over the top material or cartoonish heel mannerisms to be disliked, it was in their ton and posture. But wrestlers just need to do a clean babyface act to be hated nowadays, unless they're internet approved.
  5. People complain about Reigns not doing enough moves, I think he does too many. The weekly dives should be a once in a year spot and I don't really like the apron kick thing. What you do between the moves is as important as the spots and I love the stuff Reigns does. The loading arm thing is great, and punching the mat is one of those recognizable taunts that could be bigger than wrestling as a pop culture taunt. But then again I like Reigns, specially his comebacks. They feel explosive and exciting no matter what, and appealing to children and women is one of the reasons I like it so much, it reminds of the crowd reactions in the territories. I'm in my mid 20s so I should be cheering for Owens and Ziggler I guess, but those genuine mark reactions are one of the things I like the most about pro wrestling. I can see Reigns being as big as Batista when it comes to drawing. Maybe he reached that level already. He won't bring 10 million weekly viewers to Raw like Austin or Rock but he'll be successful.
  6. First exposure to Evolve and Gulak, a name I recognized from some lists on this board. Thought he was just on another level than everyone else, specially when it comes to facial expressions, how smooth every move looks, and the pace/layout of the match.
  7. I was just listening to the all time great hip hop album Liquid Swords, when this line got my attention [Verse 2: GZA] I slayed MC's back in the rec room era My style broke motherfucking backs like Ken Patera
  8. Hi everyone. It wasn't until 2005 that I started watching Smackdown and at the time the talent was great, Finlay, Regal, Booker, Benoit, Rey, Matt Hardy, Undertaker... funny how before I was the only kid in high school who didn't see wrestling, and now here I am. My natural progression was discovering TNA, then ROH - I was lucky to see all the insane talent at his peak like the Dragon title reign and Joe, the ascension of Nigel and Tyler Black, and so on. AJPW and other indies were the next step but I always got back to WWE. I was listening to the Loss podcast and it motivated me to finally join and give my contribution. Loving this board and how everyone looks at so many great matches into great detail.
