  1. Dave's befuddled response to you on twitter was gold: https://twitter.com/davemeltzerWON/status/675008843265404928.) Stuff like that is basic, common-sense marketing, you would think. But then, it took them almost two years to figure out that gift cards were a good idea. WWE is just bafflingly incompetent at times.
  2. Somewhat related: the UT-Arlington library currently has an exhibit of WCCW photos taken during 1982-83 in Fort Worth: https://www.uta.edu/news/releases/2015/08/ringside-wrestling-exhibit.php I haven't been but it looks like for whatever reason UTA has an interest in pro wrestling history.
  3. Gene and Ric have great chemistry, obviously. It's good to see them being low-key rather than the bombastic "MEAN...WHOO! BY GOD GENE" promos during the Nitro years. Those are great too, but this is nicely different.
  4. The level of violence in this match was frightening. Loss was right when he described it like a movie fight scene than a match. There were holds and moves like a normal match, but something felt different. I need to rewatch their first match.
  5. So five random Smoky Mountain episodes from 1994 were just uploaded: 2/14/1994 3/13/1994 3/27/1994 5/1/1994 7/5/1994 I had no idea they even owned that library. Keep it up, WWE Network!
  6. There's an alternate universe where instead of going to WWF in 1988, Bubba goes to All Japan and develops into a damn good worker by 1993. His work was really interesting in these two matches.

    Chigusa Nagayo

Just watched a Chigusa match from 1993 comeback and was blown away by her presence and charisma. If anyone has any recommendations from her prime, I'd appreciate it.
  8. Never seen Chigusa before - looks like I have some catching up to do. She has some amazing presence and charisma. My favorite joshi match on the set since Dreamslam.
  9. They sort did that back in the day with GTV, but it quickly devolved into poop jokes and humiliating Mark Henry.
  10. What an episode of SMW! The Candido/Blaze angle was a lot of fun, and now DWB completes his face turn with an hellacious promo after that amazing angle with Ron Wright. DWB has become one of my favorites thanks to the yearbooks.
  11. I wonder who has the Battlebowl ring now? Hopefully it's in Vince's trophy room with his MSG award.
  12. Poor Margie - after their workout is done, Tammy kicks her over, and she rolls down a hill in the park they're in. She's a good sport, I guess.
  13. A bunch more went up: 11/2/85 12/21/85 1/25/86 3/1/86 3/15/86 4/5/86 5/3/86 6/21/86 9/6/86 11/26/86 12/27/86 2/14/87 2/21/87 Who knows why these are going up now, but keep it up, please!
  14. According to https://twitter.com/WWE_Network_Bot (pretty accurate AFAIK), this is what was uploaded: 11/16/85 1/4/86 4/12/86 9/27/86 Hopefully more to come.
  15. The opening promo wasn't quite as bad as I'd feared, probably due to Sheamus being a new (ish) voice. Plus Roman seemed really over with this crowd at least.
  16. Survivor Series '97, at least:
  17. Reigns did win. Ambrose beat Owens. Milton Bradley Karate Fighters takes that I think. And that Mountain Dew energy drink swill they push every month is even lower.
  18. So there's a new series coming soon called "Ride Along", which has two people in a car with a camera. That's actually kind of clever, and Table for 3 has been pretty good, so maybe it will be interesting?
  19. They also stream it on their YouTube page, so an ad break hyping the network isn't the worst. Just as I'm typing this, here's another ad break. That's a little much.
  20. I had the same issues for about 10 minutes. Working fine now. *fingers crossed* On twitter, Dylan was reporting huge lines outside the arena due to security. Anyone else experiencing the same thing this weekend?
  21. Really fun battle royal, helped by the hot crowd. Savage was great in this - giving him the win instead of Martel and putting over Razor in the IC match might have been a good idea.
  22. So the big news this morning is that Survivor Series is on some sort of alleged ISIS "target list" that was uncovered by Anonymous. Bix has a story up: http://www.sescoops.com/wwe-survivor-series-2015-isis-terrorist-attack-atlanta-target-list/ I'd say it's no more or less a "target" than any other sporting event or large public gathering but after Paris and the bomb plot this week at the Germany-Netherlands match authorities are understandably on edge.

    Jumbo Tsuruta

I don't see how the most wonderful thing I've ever seen could possibly hurt his case.
  24. "Boomer T. Lynch" was the best South African name they could come up with?
  25. Tatanka is surprisingly great heeling it up in the Memphis studio - riling up the crowd, intimidating Dave, and holding his own with Lawler. Tommy Rich is great here too.
