  1. Why? All three of those stink.First off, I completely disagree with Inoki sucking. Maybe he had off nights but I didn't watch every single match from New Japan that made tape in the 80s like some did for the DVDVR set. Did you? I think he had great matches and I am insanely high on his best stuff. I find his philosophy to be a lot more interesting and exciting than Baba's, he played a major part in establishing the wrestling I love and has continued promoting it almost tk this day. I even love all of his bullshit like holding shows in North Korea and having hundreds of people line up so he can slap them. In hindsight I regret not giving him the spot I gave to Gotch. Stinks is harsh. He's boring and ruins a lot of good situations. He does have some good highs though. He's actually very very similar to Triple H.Why is he boring to you? He isn't boring to me. I remember Daniel of p.tv describing IGF as "sometimes awesome, sometimes terrible but never boring". Only problem with comparing that to Inoki's career is that I haven't seen any of the terrible yet. What good situations did he ruin? Tags with him in it always benefit for having his star presence and incredible crowd heat.

  3. If Okada and Triple H finish above Inoki I will write angry posts about it on the interwebs.
  4. I could see Michaels, Bret, Hogan, Savage, Taker, Austin, Rock, Angle, HHH and Cena getting #1 votes. Was interesting to see that Rock ranked in the Smarkschoice list. Wonder if his poor comeback will have any effect on his placement this time around.
  5. Excuse me Perro Aguayo is a great wrestler and more great than La Fiera in my opinion what's with the hate.
  6. 112, 120, 124, 144 and 148 left. What a ride this has been. Big pop for the Serial Experiments Lain GIF.
  7. I had Tiger Mask at like 88 and have a very different view of him than those who see him as a true GOAT contender. I thought he was just so important I had to acknowledge him, and it doesn't hurt that I'm insanely high on his UWF stuff.
  8. Heh, I had him at the same spot, though I imagine he will do worse next time I do this since I don't really care for him in most matches now (tags specifically). He has good offence but often relies on formulas and shtick and it is shtick I am souring on and I don't expend that trend to change. If anything the no-selling Tanaka is my favourite Tanaka (I'm thinking more him facing Kawada than him vs. Awesome) because that's when I feel he has the most personality and watching him work matches like that is absolutely fascinating to me. I really do love him in that role and he has a great resume which earned him a solid ranking for me. But I could easily see ranking someone like Takeshi Ono over him once I watch all the stuff I should've and figure out how to value what Tanaka's done with my taste changing.
  9. Seeing Edge's placement has made me realise all lists are a lie. Strategically voting in 2026 and including spite as a criteria. Takada #1.
  10. Nothing against you personally but this is my least favourite PWO post.
  11. Wonder if there be any cool wrestlers by the time we get to the top 100. Ogawa could skyrocket for me in 2026 once I take a focused look at his pre-1998 All Japan work.
  12. As the three people that follow the stuff I post on social media can testify, that isn't true. They did an arm wrestling tournament where the contestants were pro wrestling and it was the best thing I had ever seen and Yamazaki somehow managed to be the silliest person on a show that included Yoji Anjoh and Bob Sapp. there's also his reaction when he found out he was gonna face someone really good at the armwres things with big hands:
  13. Boy am I not going to like the top 100. Yamazaki and a couple of the more esteemed luchadors have fallen which means virtually everyone in my top half is in danger now. Hope Pirata Morgan finishes above Okada.
  14. You don't like his matches vs. El Dandy or Angel Azteca or Atlantis or La Fiera? I had him above Satanico and don't regret it at all.
  15. Anjoh and Emilio are the first guys from my top 50 to drop. Emilio's placement confirms my worries lucha probably won't do as well as was predicted.
  16. Early NOAH has nothing to do with that. You could argue for it once they put the belt on Kobashi but he (like Danielson) had his own formula that worked to a great degree.
  17. I remember Ditch saying Dragon Gate wasn't taken seriously by the media and a lot of fans because it only focused on juniors and such. And no way were they the second biggest wrestling company in Japan for "nearly a decade".They became a clear number two only when everyone else completely collapsed, and even that didn't happen until what........2013? And even then I remember some arguments in DDT's favour. Things become even more sketchy when you factor in that in the world of faking attendance numbers they were the ones that went furthest with it, claiming they drew 3K in Korauken and what not. So basically what you're looking at is CIMA being the ace of a promotion that has arguably been #2 in Japan for a few years when wrestling in Japan is at it's historical low point.
  18. I look at everyone listed so far and have to scratch my head fucking Okada is going to finish above them all. Recency bias is what it is.
  19. I think with him voting and all that we can kind of confirm ShittyLittleBoots isn't a bot so you could, you know, activate his account. I mean it's people's fault they don't read the how to make a PWO account thread or contact Loss via twitter or e-mail or something but still. Glad I wasn't the high voter on Anjoh. He made my top half but I couldn't justify going any higher than where I put him. I'm really interested where the more famous shoot guys rank. By the way they were talked about in their threads you'd think Anjoh would rank above Takada.
  20. Hase and Koshinaka were former juniors, he seemed like a logical choice at the time.
  21. Chono is about 300 spots too high unless the criteria used is hevily skewed towards how cool someone's outfit, entrance and theme music were. At least he didn't make the list this time. I hope the same fate awaits Mutoh. Will be interesting to see how many 2000s WWE guys crack the top 100. I am sure Matt will be thrilled when Edge finishes above Christian.
  22. To continue on the "Takaiwa doesn't sell" talking point, I watched Ohtani/Takaiwa vs Misawa/Kotaro Suzuki from NOAH; 2005 somewhat recently and what stood out to me the most was how amusing Takaiwa's selling of Misawa's elbows was, it was almost borderline stooging. Sure-everyone sold Misawa's elbows like a big deal, but the lengths Takaiwa went to were something special.
  23. That's a monster ranking for Funaki from Parties. He had a decent spot on my list (around 70 I think) so I'd be interested to hear his reasoning.
  24. This person also left Ric Flair off his ballot entirely. It is what it is. I had Gotch #100 though the #20 ballot doesn't have Flair either.Who is that then?purowookie (see twitter)
