  1. BattleBowl 93 is one of the first things my girlfriend and I watched on the WWE Network and to this day she mentions how great it was. Her favorites were the match featuring one of the Cole Twins hitting some of the saddest offense ever committed to tape, and the match where the Kong guys were on opposite sides. That is one of the funniest shows to get smashed and watch, so it's not entirely useless.

    Evolve 43

DGUSA doesn't really exist anymore. They're on an "indefinite hiatus" which basically says it all. The lines were blurred well over a year ago when the belt started getting defended on EVOLVE shows, and there hasn't been an actual DGUSA show since February '14, I believe. And good riddance, I'd say. I know I'm not alone in saying I'd rather watch Drew Gulak than Shingo Takagi.
  3. Togo vs Honda, hell yes. I don't do star ratings, but that is a great choice.
  4. This stems partially from Reigns I guess, but moreso because I've been watching Memphis from 82-83 and every time I've seen Bockwinkel come to town to face Lawler, there's these women in the front row booing the shit out of Lawler. I saw it in like three or four different matches even, it's crazy. I don't know, maybe these women are always in the front row of the MSC and I just never noticed them? Maybe they just love Bock and his very large vocabulary? So I'm thinking about odd/negative babyface reactions. There's a lot of examples with Hogan I think, and HBK in MSG vs Sid. I'm sure this has happened plenty of times over the years, but I can't think of too many examples. Maybe a crowd that broke out into a Let's Go Gagne/Gagne Sucks chant at the St Paul Civic Center in 1979? Did that ever happen
  5. LMAO. My girlfriend (the A1 authority on the fashion sense of pro wrestlers) absolutely hated him for his shitty brown tights and would bury him unmercifully every time she was in the room while he was getting squashed. His leg lariat finish always cracked me up, especially the slow motion replays of it missing the mark by like a foot. He will be missed.
  6. That is one of my least favorite things that they do all too often, the way they carelessly show their hand based on the outcomes of some of the undercard matches. I'm not sure how to prevent that sort of thing (better booking, maybe?) It may also just be a case of we the viewers being too familiar with the company's common tendencies. I'd imagine most of us will be able to accurately predict the outcome of the main based on who goes over in Rusev v. Cena and the stupid fucking ladder match.
  7. I apologize. I should have said a bad Altman movie. This ladder match is the wrestling equivalent to Dr. T & the Women. (Rumble 92 is Nashville)
  8. The point? There is no point, they just didn't have anywhere else to put him. "That's a good little spot for you."
  9. Welp, I'm out. *shows both sides of my hands like a blackjack dealer*
  10. Geez, if you think Thatcher's stuff looks contrived, I can't imagine what you'd think about lucha guys like Hechicero and Navarro. Are you sure you're not just being contrarian for the sake of it?
  11. What on earth does that mean EDIT: Nevermind, I get it now. And you know that's not possible anyways. Even at its absolute height the IC Title was never seen as anywhere close to the world belt. Ambrose should win the ladder royal since the actual story here is supposed to be him chasing after Barrett. Or at least it was, before they turned it into a Robert Altman movie.
  12. Name of worker: Buddy Landel and the Dirty White Boy Promotion (and year): SMW 92 Link to promo: Why you think it's great: Cocaine. I uploaded this myself after seeing it on a random episode of Smokey Mountain. Insane (and clearly improvised) promo that is a perfect example of two unheralded greats at their best. Classic southern cocaine promo.
  13. I was about to ask who the fuck is PJ Black but I decided to look it up instead. So is there anyone actually excited to see Justin Gabriel "dream matches?"
  14. Does it bug the shit out of anyone when they do these big multi mans with an odd number of guys? If they just threw Goldust in there it would automatically raise my anticipation up one notch in this poll. He's already in a feud with someone in the match, a feud that never ended by the way.
  15. The matches vs Hijo del Santo in 04 and 06 would be a good place to start. They're both on Youtube. I also highly recommend the tag from 1/23/15 with Texano vs Myzteziz and Psycho Clown if you want something more recent.
  16. what the fuck man. what in the fuck I can't watch that video. I loved him so much. He was so charismatic. This is the fucking worst.
