Omega seems to come off as the most level headed of the Elite, but hopefully the attitude isn’t that 80% of the company isn’t part of the Elite so therefore he wouldn’t have hired them. If they take the name of the company that literally then I don’t see AEW ever becoming anything more than what they are now. OEW Only Elite Wrestling at that point.

They have been over 1 million viewers for four straight weeks. Whether they can keep them when the tournament is over is another question, but that’s a pretty good streak.

Since Black left that feud fell through, guess they haven’t decided what to do next. He would make a great opponent for MJF when he wins the title.

Yeah, the Firm segment was one long information dump of exposition that didn’t really do much for anyone. Don’t know if it’s really necessary to say ‘this guy is going after this title, and this guy is going after that title’. Just do it. I don’t see any of those guys winning any of those titles anytime soon.

Can’t fault the booking much since the reboot last week, the right people are losing for the most part. I wouldn’t have put Sammy over Darby, but he lost to Mox, Lethal lost to Jungle Boy. Good start tonight.

Doesn’t mean he can’t be squashed. Happens to everyone sooner or later. Think if you look back through most World Champions resumes you’ll find one. Cena, Danielson, Punk all come to mind. Page isn’t any better than any of them.

Nah. If Page got to have a back and forth competitive match with Danielson then Sammy should get one with Mox.

Just catching up on Rampage since I missed most of it last night. I don’t really understand putting Sammy over Darby at this point either, other than just to get a face/heel matchup in the next round and furthering this BCC/JAS feud. Not the right decision in my eyes, especially after Darby started talking about wanting to go out on his own and then losing his first big match afterwards.

Did he mention any of that before now? Had anyone? It’s been a year of Punk in AEW. If people had problems surely it would have come out before now. Just seems like the tail wagging the dog.

But there was no indication or reports of that being a problem before Page’s promo. I don’t think it’s just that attitude towards Punk but it seems any veteran, at least where Page is concerned. Page said he’d rather learn by trial and error, well I guess we see the fruits of that.

I agree with you on everything but the first paragraph. Before Page’s promo on Punk and interview where he said he doesn’t listen to veterans, when has anyone said or reported before then that anyone had a problem with Punk and anything he had said or done in AEW?

Honest question, before the Page promo, what did anyone in AEW have a problem with Punk about? Maybe Cabana getting moved to ROH, but it’s been shown that wasn’t Punk’s doing and people were assuming/lying that it was. What else has Punk said or done that was a problem in the past year before being put in a program with Page?

Sadly, I’ve thought this too but I hope not. We just had another merger, this time Warner/Discovery instead of Time/Warner. No guarantee that they decide they want to keep wrestling on the networks when the current deals are up.

Looks like it’s going to be a long time. Probably 8 months at least. I’m sure there will be many people happy to hear that news. Cody tore a pec too in one of his first big matches in WWE. Cena tore his pec once upon a time. It happens. Usually isn’t celebrated, but whatever. Who has he really turned against him? Sounds like it’s all just people who were against him before turning up the volume on the I told you so’s after they had been pretty quiet for the past year while Punk has wrestled several matches without issue and no reports of problems backstage that I heard until recently. I guess since Punk is gone all the problems will just magically go away now, since it’s all his fault, at least in some people‘a eyes. We’ll see.

Danielson got held out quite a while after suffering a concussion at Double or Nothing and also hurt his leg after getting it trapped in the set and missed some time, no one is accusing him of being fragile and saying he should hang it up.

I think people’s preconceived notions of Punk are coloring their perceptions of this specific situation. Is Punk an asshole? Probably. I don’t know him personally. But my point is say someone started cutting promos on Ortiz about Santana, and Ortiz got pissed off about it. Who’s at fault, the person cutting the promos about a personal matter that has nothing at all to do with anything that should be going on on screen in AEW or Ortiz for getting pissed off about it. Especially if part of the reason he’s pissed off about it is that the person that cut the promo is getting a pass, partially because he’s friends with the executive VP’s? Punk is still a human being, and I’d say deserves to be treated with respect as long as that’s how he treated people. I heard nothing about him being a problem backstage until Page did what he did. Everything else has been complaints about past behavior and reputation, Cabana getting sent to ROH which was 100% on Tony Khan, and the fallout from what Page did. If people didn’t like Punk before of course this is all his fault, but what did he really do before Page cut his promo except come to AEW? I can’t defend or agree with his behavior afterwards but I do understand it.

When you look at all the damage it’s caused and who all has been swept up in it, it’s proven to be more than a minor offense. I’ve fallen out with friends and family, and if you’re close with someone that wound stays raw and it doesn’t take much to rip it open again. I can’t imagine having to deal with that constantly at work, even outside of having to deal with it in my personal life.

While Kenny, the Bucks, and Punk who got caught up in the mess that he started are suspended and stripped of their titles, and possibly fired depending on how the investigation into it goes. No one is cutting promos on Ortiz about Santana, because that would be a shitty thing to do. It’s not just the promo that Page did, it’s the timing. Right before he’s supposed to lose the title to Punk he goes out and does that crap live on tv. It’s a bitch move, and I’d argue really not about Cabana at all. If he gave fuck all about Cabana did he bring it up with anyone in charge before he went out and did that? I liked Adam Page when he was presented seriously and was happy to see him win the championship. But I’ve lost all respect for him.

I enjoy Yuta more when he’s an underdog or fighting underneath. Good match for the time it got. Wouldn’t mind seeing a longer rematch at some point but it looks like Garcia is going face and moving on.

A few weeks off before popping up in a championship tournament where he makes the finals and is involved in a storyline with the Bucks and Dark Order where he is a prized partner recruit, then being put in another championship tournament where he goes toe to toe for the 3rd time with one of the best wrestlers in the world. Wrestlers should be lining up for that ‘punishment’.

They probably don’t want Miro to lose, but hopefully they can find something good for him to do. If Black is gone him vs Brody King wouldn’t be bad.
