AEW in ring and on screen for the most part I still mostly enjoy and am interested in week to week. Cody leaving was fine if it was a unique situation, but unfortunately the disputes between wrestlers and Tony Khan and between the wrestlers themselves are ongoing and getting uglier. If it’s mostly a work, I’m fine with that. But with the way the MJF situation blew up it could have been worse but you’ve got another guy who is probably gone when his contract is up. They haven’t done anything with him in months and who knows how or if he will be pushed or presented when he returns if he’s already checked out. Punk and Hangman have been going off script on live television and while they might bring it back around to something in the ring they aren’t really interacting outside of through the media and shooty promos. Plus Kingston and Jericho and Kingston and Punk, it’s all interesting outside of the ring stuff but will we get anything interesting and satisfying inside of the ring out of any of it? Shooty stuff just for shooty stuff’s sake without a purpose or endgame that benefits the shows and AEW is veering too far into Russo end of WCW territory for my liking. At some point someone has to have control and steer all this in the right direction or tell them to cut this crap out.

I don’t know much about Fulham, but the Jags have been atrocious since Khan became owner. Only one winning season in the last 10 years (10-6 in 2017) and an overall record of 42-119. The debacle last year that was the hiring and firing of Head Coach Urban Meyer was hopefully rock bottom. The more I see and hear the more I worry about AEW.

Maybe where there’s smoke there’s fire. The way the Cody and MJF situations played out could very well happen with Punk too. I hope not, but if so it would be a worrying trend for AEW.

Whose House is it? Dragon’s House tonight apparently. Danielson vs Garcia 2/3 falls. Ricky The Dragon Steamboat as special guest timekeeper. AEW Trios Titles Andrade, Rush, and Dragon Lee vs The Young Bucks and a mystery partner. Maybe we’ll also get a reDRagon appearance. Any other dragon themed wrestlers they can find and bring in? What’s Super Dragon doing these days? Ultimo Dragon? Dragon Kid? Dragon Dragon?

Honestly that’s one of the things I love about Johnny Sorrow’s posts. I’ve seen him get negative about stuff he doesn’t like, but he doesn’t nit pick every little thing. If something is mostly positive in his eyes he’s going to be positive about it. I’d always rather hear about the stuff people like instead of what they don’t. There is a place for deep dives and criticism for sure, but for me week to week AEW puts on mostly enjoyable shows that are more good than bad in my opinion. AEW has been pretty quick to move on for the most part when something isn’t working and try something else.

I love FTR being treated as stars both in presentation and reaction.

I just question the timing, right after the Planeride From Hell episode and the fallout from that, and the stuff now with McMahon. It’s curious for them to pull the plug when you think it would be time to do a deep dive on WWF/E. But I am interested and excited for a series focusing on the territories if like you said they get actual wrestling historians and people that were there involved. I hope it isn’t more revisionist history but real history that does justice to the stories of the territories.

I like underdog Yuta. Against someone like Mox or Jericho I like him a lot more than as Pure Champion.

It’s surprising to me that Christian is older than Matt Hardy. Current Matt Hardy looks like he would be a flunky in a backwoods stable like the Wyatt Family.

Love Dante and Sammy. Fun match so far. Dante is only 21 years old. The sky is the limit for that kid.

2nding the rough bacne on Rush. Noticed that watching Death Before Dishonor. Hopefully Ricky Starks is ok and just selling. The neck gives him an excuse for losing in a way but after that entrance and then how things went down it seems strange.

Caught a replay of the PPV and it was a good show. World Title Match was underwhelming and deserved a better build, but 100% the right decision is to put the title on Claudio. 6 man tag was fun, I’m a fan of Dalton Castle. Women’s match and Rush vs Dragon Lee were both ok. Pure title match was good, I think both guys have a bright future ahead of them. The matches I was most I interested in and wanted to see were the TV title and Tag Title matches and both delivered. Hopefully Joe can keep having a good run. FTR as the Revival got me majorly interested in NXT when they were there and they will make me an ROH fan if they keep putting on matches like this. Really hope ROH gets a regular show soon.

Part of me would run an angle where Kingston has to join the JAS and Jericho tries to turn him into a sports entertainer before they have another match, but the JAS is too big already. Probably best to move on, at least for now. Maybe down the road have them meet in the finals of a tournament or some other event/match and put Kingston over then.

I have missed Orange Cassidy. Fun match, a little sloppy in places but well done for the most part all around.

Are there any free agents WWE could bring in that would be a fresh matchup for Roman and be credible? Seems like we are going to see a bunch of treading water until Cody is back or Rock agrees to a match.
