  1. Has this reached all time bad yet? Why they couldn't have edited half this shite out I have no idea.
  2. I think they think they're doing Owen Voice
  3. Edge doing the swinging lap dance and the Benoit death reference were the only amusing parts of this match. Rest has been a sub-Jeff Jarrett walk and brawl.
  4. A crowd and ten minutes of just spots would have been fine
  5. This is shite lads
  6. They should do another shitty movie for this match
  7. This Otis shit is unwatchable to me. Eugene levels of embarrassment.
  8. People are going wild with their star ratings here. The Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle revisionism has really done a number on them. With that in mind, I went into watching this today, having not seen it in years, expecting the full gamut of HBK soap opera acting drama and really didn't think he was too excessive here. I also don't think Angle was particularly spamming suplexes and Olympic Slams like he would at his worst. I liked the opening stretch with Shawn taking Angle by surprise with his mat approach. I almost wish they'd have done a HBK training montage in the build-up. Angle being the one to resort to punches and forearms was a nice touch and he imposed himself well. He hit a few great clotheslines and uppercuts here. Michaels is someone frequently accused of having light-as-a-feather offence but he hit some decent chops, forearms and elbows here. The Olympic Slam into the post was a great spot, except the impact looked lesser every time they replayed it in slow mo. The big transitions; Angle's lariat, the asai moonsault on the table, Shawn's comeback sequence and the top rope Angle slam, were all done pretty well I thought. I loved the struggle over the apron German and I wasn't bothered by Kurt's pop-up for the top rope slam because he'd been lying there for a fair bit before he leapt to his feet. Angle's delayed kickout on the superkick was great. Michaels took so long to make the cover that there was clearly no way he was winning but Angle timed it so well that the crowd still bit hard. Shawn slowly getting to his feet and leaving himself open for the ankle lock was a bit awkward I guess but Kurt grabbing him into the hold by surprised still looked good. The ending maybe took a little long but it's HBK at Wrestlemania. He's gonna give you some melodrama. And it wasn't overwrought like some of his stuff could be. He was in the hold for a long time but they timed the grapevine and the big tap out tease well enough to keep the crowd engaged the tension building. Excellent match. Maybe not the all time legendary match that WWE and it's most ardent fans hold it to be but that's no less egregious to me that throwing 3 stars on it. ****1/4
  9. Main roster wise, there really isn't a whole lot of good stuff. Bryan vs Gualk from last month's PPV and the big time Rousey matches are worth seeking out.
  10. That was incredible. Takers facials and grunting when he was selling was like when Luke took off Darth Vader's helmet. AJ running around with the red handkerchief in his jeans pocket to signify he wants to be fisted. The druids. The Sharknado level acting. The magic powers. That really had everything.
  11. Nia Jax is apparently coming back...
  12. Truly a hideous match
  13. Corbin's awful tights might actually be worse than his waiter outfit
  14. Not when you're a robot
  15. Fucking state of Gronk
  16. Illness is WEAK GODDAMNIT
  17. Last is a hack imo. Cornette could easily do a good show where he talks about old school stuff and also gives a decent assessment of AEW looking at the positives and negatives but it's all squarely focused on the histrionics. Incidentally, Cornette sometimes has good points to make about AEW but he does everything in such an abrasive way that comparing people to Cornette has become the 'ok boomer' of online wrestling discourse. So while saying he wants Orange Cassidy to break his neck and die may get him the clicks, the whole form has gone to discredit any sort of critique that current wrestling could stand to learn from old school thinking.
  18. Confusion about the start time and there being multiple methods of watching it might prove to be a hinderance. It's on FOX, Fite TV and the WWE Network seemingly at three different price points. If I'm a casual/curiosity viewer, I could imagine being confused and not bothering.
  19. There's no reason that they couldn't have let Brock tape his match first and still edit it to be shown last on either day. I have had zero interest in seeing this show up to now. My interest has at a huge low even before they got bumped from the stadium. But I can't lie. I'm very tempted to watch for the trainwreck quality. I hope they lean in and go completely crazy because at least it'll be fun online. I want CGI and sound effects in every match.
  20. The audience like Darby but I don't think the clamour for him to be in the top mix has come close to it's peak yet. Whereas people want Cody to be the top star. I feel like there's more value in playing the long game with Darby until the fans are desperate for him to get over the hump instead of giving it away relatively early on shows with no fans.
  21. They false advertised the rectification of their false advertising?
  22. Given the betting odds online and the fact that they've supposedly filmed multiple finishes, it's almost certain that, as we speak, footage of Rob Gronkowski winning the Universal title exists. Whether it ever makes air is a different story but still.
  23. I don't see why thinking it's a good idea to replicate the successful IWGP Intercontinental Championship model has any link to Orange Cassidy getting pops for his comedy gimmick. The aim for wrestling is to draw money. Cody Rhodes defending his new title on PPV against a big name is more of a money draw than Sammy or Darby defending it at this point in time. And considering Page/Omega vs The Bucks has been one of the most over and well belt programmes they've done so far, I also find it an odd take to argue that those belts are less intriguing now than when lifelong midcarders SCU had them. I don't get the point about the stars being executives either. The reason they're executives is because they impetus for the promotion is based around their previous success. That means people want to see them pushed. This isn't like HHH holding down anyone who got a slight bit of momentum in the 2000s. The AEW fanbase like the show and want it to succeed because they love Cody, The Bucks and Omega. They're not tuning in every week to see those guys jobbing themselves out. Obviously there comes a time to put over the next group of stars and that'll be a test but given that the Bucks have lost to Lucha Bros and Private Party, Kenny has lost to PAC, Moxley and Jericho and Cody has lost to Jericho and MJF, I don't see any of those guys refusing to do business when the time comes.
  24. Didn't see the full match but Lumis doing that awkward slide out of the ring just for a shitty punch spot was hilarious. His look kind of gives me Heidenreich vibes. I wonder if Jake Atlas is second guessing his career choices.
  25. What logic is that?
