  1. Enjoyed the format a lot. The card a had great matches and the quick promos set the tone for feuds to come! Backlund-Snuka is going to be epic
  2. Great set of shows. I wonder if the Fantastics can ever get over the Long Riders. The Sheik and his USA Poooy quote was awesome. Dibiase and Hogan... the feud begins

  6. AWA ALL-STARS May 12, 1984 After falling a bit behind here, I have decided to just give a summary of what has been going on in All-Star Wrestling and to pick back up where I left off. AWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Hulk Hogan continues to be the AWA World Champion but he is without his belt. Frustrated at the referee’s decision a few weeks ago, Bad News Allen left the ring with the belt and said he will not return it as he is the rightful owner. When Verne Gagne threatened to suspend Allen for not returning the belt, Allen said that he would walk out of the AWA forever and they would never see their historic championship belt again. This is a wait and see game of cat and mouse that is being played out with the AWA Title. AWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE GAME Bret Hart continues to be the champ with Randy Savage in hot pursuit. The problem for Savage has been getting a clean win over Hart. Bobby Heenan is quick to call in reinforcements anytime that Hart is in trouble and even of Rick Martel or Hulk Hogan join in to help Randy, the DQ has already been called for and Hart keeps the title. AWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE The question here isn’t so much who the champions are but who they are going to face. The Road Warriors continue to hang on to their titles but both the Sheiks (Patera and Blackwell) and Dr. Death and Manny Fernandez have given them some tough bouts. Both sets of challengers continue to go back and forth to see who the #1 contender is and as they beat each other from pillar to post, they might just be wearing each other down just enough to make beating the Road Warriors impossible. The winners in all of this might just be Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid who continue to rise in the tag team rankings. AWA YOUNG LIONS TOURNAMENT The tournament has seen 4 Young Lions rise to the top of this round robin tournament. Keiji Mutoh is 4-2 with one match left against Davey Boy Smith while Smith, Eddie Gilbert and Nikita Koloff are all undefeated. Smith must face all three top contenders while Gilbert and Koloff must face Smith and each other. This tournament has seen the heels outduel the babyfaces and it will be interesting to see who the fans will back. One thing for sure is that it won’t be the Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff. CANADA DAY: MONDAY JUY 1: AWA All-Star Wrestling has begun to promote its next huge event which will be held in the Saddledome on Canada Day, July 1, 1984. This event is expected to draw huge numbers at it is just days before the beginning of the Calgary Stampede. This event is more than a wrestling show as rumor has it, All-Star wrestling is in a power struggle. Verne Gagne and Stu Hart understand that their future depends on the success of the AWA but they may have different views on how to get there. Stu Hart’s 6 month suspension from running events in Calgary due to the riot on December 23, 1983 is coming to an end and it seems he wants control of the Canadian city. Part of the tension between these two is that Verne seems to have reduced the role of both Keith and Bruce Hart. In fact, many in the industry say he is actively trying to send the two packing. A Border War seems to be on the horizon! AWA STAMPEDE TITLE Due to the size of the AWA All-Star territory, Gagne and Hart have decided to rotate TV tapings between the Corral in Calgary and the Minneapolis Auditorium. The explanation makes sense, but again, people are wondering if this is due to the rift between Hart and Gagne. As the roster gets somewhat split between the USA and Canada, Verne and Stu have decided to add the AWA Stampede title. This would allow them to defend a title in multiple cities on the same day. Information to follow. FEUDS THAT REMAIN HOT Sgt. Slaughter and Jim Neidhart continue to want a piece of the Russians but with Nikita involved in the Young Lion’s Tournament, these teams have not squared off very often. Instead, we are getting singles matches with either Slaughter or Neidhart facing off with Nicolai Volkoff. At times, we have seen Ciclon Negro join in this battle which is just fine with the fans as they want to see any Anti-Americans go down. Curt Hennig and Rick Martel continue to go at each other these two former tag team partners are still hot under the collar. The problem here is that Martel has to deal with the same numbers problem as Savage has to do with Bret Hart and Bobby “the Brain Heenan masterminds his family. Sweet Brown Sugar and Koko Ware vs Ox Baker and Bob Sweetan continues to be a midcard feud that sees both teams rotating the victories Regular shows to pick up soon!
  7. true with Muraco. I used a number randomizer with all of us in it for a Supplemental Draft. This had no impact on the 1985 Rookie Draft. The order came out as follows 1. Southeast 2. Georgia 3. World Class 4. TNT 5. Atlantic Coast 6. Worldwide 7. Pacific 8. . All-Star Southeast took Jimmy Hart. Waiting to hear if Georgia wants either Eaton or Muraco. World Class would be next. If we find anyone else who is missing, whoever is up next would get right of first refusal.
  8. I would also take my name out
  9. Funk and the Cuban Assassin are in TNT. Eaton and Hart are a different story and are missing for no good reason. Possible solutions 1. Supplemental Draft: Use a random number generator for anyone interested in them and the top 2 get one each. 2. Make a new order for the 85 Rookie Draft which we need to do anyway and use allow for Eaton and Hart to be drafted and used now. For example, if you get the 1st pick you can pass until the rookie draft or draft Eaton or Hart. Same with the 2nd pick, 3rd pick and so on until they are drafted. Remember, if you take Eaton or Hart, you loose the pick in the 85 Draft or any other ideas you come up with
  10. all good. He is yours. I will make me last picks in a little while
  11. All Star Selects Bobby Bass and Mr. Ito
  12. All-Star selects Mike Von Erich
  13. All-Star selects Jim Brunzell
  14. All-Star picks Buddy Landell
  15. -WITH NO NEW WRITERS INQUIRING AND WITH A FEW WRITERS SAYING THEY ARE TIED UP ON SUNDAY WITH MOTHER'S DAY PLANS...... THE DRAFT IS NOW OPEN! -PLEASE POST YOUR PICK HERE AND PM THE NEXT PERSON WHO IS UP.
  16. All-Star Wrestling releases: Ali Bey, Baron Mikel Sicicluna, Bubba Douglas, Buck Zumhofe, Swede Hansen, Bart Batten and Roger Kirby
  17. Sorry did not mean Savage to do double duty. It should have been Rick Martel for the North American Title vs Bret Hart
  18. I really like the rebuilt Devastation Inc. Great card at Reunion Arena. The Fabulous Freebirds are now in their wheelhouse as they are causing chaos not only for the VonErich's but the Road Warriors. The VonErich wins by DQ in the house show loop over the champs is the perfect World Class finish. It just gets the fans more and more hyped up that their beloved VonErich's are so close to the title and keeps them buying the tickets
  19. Fun set of shows. I love the suspense of the who the mystery partner could be! Koloff vs Hansen on TV: Awesome! You must really love Rodz to give him 20 minutes. I would try to avoid having multiple draws on the same show as later you had the Fantastics and Long Riders with the same finish. Looking forward to seeing the big build of Dibiase as we had towards the summer
  20. Love the excitement in Florida. Rhodes vs Sullivan is one of my favorite feuds of all time. Was surprised to see Rhodes/Rotundo acting like the "heels" coming out to attack Abby here but the anger in this one just continues to boil over and babyfaces and heels are not as easy to distinguish. I know that Florida is a wild and crazy place but I would be careful not to overdo the Steel Cage matches. They are awesome but they seem to make white hot feuds even hotter but if the fans are used to seeing them for minor feuds. it might not be the biggest draw. Really like the Contender's Crown!
  21. Nice card in Vancouver. Billy Jack and Piper are going to have to work harder to find away to throw Oliver off the top of the AWA Pacific Mountain
  22. Like the way to you did this with the same card in multiple locations. If I could ever get organized enough, I would like to try it.

    USWA

Awesome show and a real treat for the people of Jackson. Great writing with nice background information for many of your feuds. Spivey is proving to just be better then Brown Always like to see the evil foreigners go down as you did in match 2 Axe does a nice job of subbing in but Jumbo may be too much for him at this stage Dream Machine with some heel tactics shows that sometimes there is more then just trying to get a win Love Tully as the TV champ. It really makes that title have some weight Guerreros/Sheepherder has been a nice mid-card bloodbath for you and keeps the fans attention until the big matches Lawler/HTM leads to chaos and then the Fab Ones get the #1 contender win after helping Lawler. Helping Lawler in TN really gets them over! Funk vs Race .... Hogan vs Idol.... what a star pack show!
  24. THE ROSEMONT HORIZON: CHICAGO: MAY 2, 1984 1. Young Lions Tournament Match: Keiji Mutoh defeats Bart Batten with the Moonsault 2. Young Lions Tournament Match: Nikita Koloff hits Marty Jannety with Russian Sickle for the win. 3. Brad Rheingans defeats Ciclon Negro with the Cradle Suplex to get the patriotic juices flowing in the Rosemont. 4. AWA WORLD LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Greg Gagne defeats Dynamite Kid by DQ when Jos Leduc stormed the ring and hit Gagne with a nasty powerslam. Kid and Leduc continued the double team until Bruce Hart and Keith Hart came out and made the save. 5. Ox Baker & Bob Sweetan defeated Koko Ware and Sweet Brown Sugar when the action went bonzo gonzo and Sweetan pulled something out of his trunks and clocked Sugar and got the pin. 6. Rick Rude vs Randy Savage: In a true war, we see Savage prevail with the Top Rope Elbow Drop. 7. Jim “The Anvil” & Sgt. Slaughter defeated Nicolai Volkoff & The Turk when Sgt. Slaughter reversed the Camel Clutch on Turk and hot a Cannon Lariat followed by the Cobra Clutch. 8. AWA North American Title Match: Bret Hart vs Rick Martel ended in a 30 -minute draw 9. AWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Road Warriors Dr. Death & Manny Fernandez pounded each other from start to finish. Unfortunately, the action spilled outside and neither team made it back to t ring before the 10 count. 10. AWA WORLD TITLE MARCH: Hulk Hogan vs Ken Patera with Sheik Adnan Al Kaissey saw a great test of strength here to start the match which ended with Patera hitting a low blow on the champ. From here on out, it was all Patera. Hogan had his usually comeback and the champ retained the title hitting the Ax Bomber for the victory. This did not stop the Sheik from calling to the back to summon Jerry Blackwell. The Sheiks now how there way with the champ until Randy Savage hit the ring and together with Hogan tossed the Sheiks out to the floor. The night ended with a USA chant echoing through the Rosemont Horizon.
  25. Please remind me of the Bravo/Rougeau trade on June 1
