Now those are some awesome stables! Hogans Heroes vs The Sinister Six! Really looking forward to that. Many Fernandez is a beast of a Raggin Bull. He must be fun to use in your cards. I view him much like I do Iceman. Exciting, Tough and keeps the crowd involved but never made it all the way to the top but I think you got them going in the right direction. I could see him challenging Hogan in the future.

Loved the recent shows. The Spoiler alert kept my attention from beginning to end. It was well done even though we knew the results going in. "Alabama us Armstrong Country." was a great quote. Enjoy the Rock n Roll Express. Your new heel faction of Landell, Baby Doll and the Bullet will be fun to follow. -
Good point! I would not over use them.

That's fine with me. I was thinking the same way but it would be Monday-Tuesdays if I did

To all the fans throughout the nation, Dave delivers great news. This event will be broadcast live on WTBS. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: Ernie Ladd vs Sweet Brown Sugar A great match for TV. The fans were really behind Sweet Brown Sugar and his quickness and athleticism were causing Ladd some difficulties. Ladd threw Sugar into ref Paul Morton. As Sugar went to check on the ref, Ladd bounced off the ropes and hit his opponent with a Big Boot. This was all she wrote. Just as Morton was regaining his footing, Ladd covered Sweet Brown Sugar for the pin at 9:54. Ernie Ladd went to the interview desk where both Solie and Russell admonished Ladd for intentionally pushing Sweet Brown Sugar into the ref. Ladd, as you would expect, starting yelling at both announcers and called them liars. Ladd continued to discuss the match and said that he did not understand why he had to wrestle people like Sweet Brown Sugar as his is clearly not in his league. Solie changed the direction of the interview by bringing up former Ladd’s Army member, Butch Reed. Ladd now really went off. He said he made Reed and the Reed owes him everything that he has in the world of wrestling. He continues by saying that Reed is ungrateful and selfish and that he will get his! Gordon Solie ends the interview with his sarcastic “fair enough!” Next, Sir Oliver Humperdink and his stable known as the House of Humperdink come out to the interview desk. Humperdink begins by insulting Lance Russell and calling him “Pencil Nose.” He goes on to say that he hopes Ted Turner will be more fair because Jerry Jarrett is a cheat and has not given his men, Buzz Sawyer, Hercules Hernandez and the big Russian, Korstia Korchenko even a sniff of a title shot. According to Humperdink, his men are the toughest in all of the USWA. Lance Russell reminds him of his recent troubles with Plowboy Frazier and his relatives, Hillbilly Jim and Big Bubba. Humperdink again tells Russell to shut up and Gordon Solie tells Humperdink “that will be enough of that.” __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MATCH: House of Humperdink Challenge: Hercules Hernandez vs Steve Simpson If Simpson can last 5 minutes, he will earn $5000 of Sir Oliver Humperdink’s money. Steve Simpson gets some praise from Gordon Solie as he calls this rookie “double tough.” As the match begins, it is obvious that these two wrestlers are in tremendous shape but as the match progresses forward, it is also evident that Simpson can’t yet hold his own against Hercules. The end comes at 4:01 as Hercules puts Simpson in the Backbreaker Rack forcing the submission. Hercules refuses to break the hold long after the ref has called for the bell and is just punishing this rookie. The crowd begins to cheer as you here Solie say, “and it looks like…. Yes. It is indeed Plowboy Frazier, Hillbilly Jim and Big Bubba rushing to the ring.” Solie continues by saying “Humperdink and Hernandez decide discretion is the better part of valor” as they scamper from the ring to the locker rom. Plowboy and his relatives head to the interview desk where they say they will not stand for any more wrestlers being wronged from the House of Humperdink. They also ask Jerry Jarrett to sanction a 6 man tag match at “The First Battle of Atlanta” __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: The Fabulous Ones vs The Nightmares The fans go wild as they are so excited to have the Fab Ones back in town. They come out to ZZ Top and “Sharpe Dressed Man.” They are dressed in partial tuxedos and perform a partial strip tease as the young ladies in the audience go crazy. As for the match, it is high energy all the way. Both teams perform some great double team moves and there are a few momentum changes. It looked like the Nightmares might pull off the upset as Nightmare #2 went for a Frog Splash off the top rope, but Stan Lane rolled out of the way at the last second. He followed that up with a quick tag to Keirn who hooked in the inverted Boston Crab which caused the tap out at 7:54. The Fabulous Ones go to the interview desk where they are welcomed back to the area by Solie and Russell. Both Keirn and Lane express excitement to be in the USWA and they know there are many great team here including the Sheepherders but they have one goal; to be the first ever USWA World Tag Team Champions. __________________________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________________________ Piper’s Pit with Special Guest Tojo Yamamoto Roddy Piper makes his way out to the set and sits in one of the two chairs that are there. The Sheepherders follow Piper out and stand behind him with their arms folded. Piper calls out Tojo Yamamoto who walks slowly onto the set and the two embrace. Piper expresses relief that he finally has a guest who feels the same about these lazy Americans and that he hopes that together, The British Commonwealth and The Shogunate can put these USWA rednecks like Jerry Lawler and Tommy Rich in their place. Tojo Yamamoto begins by saying “Mis-tah Piper, I am honered to be here with you today. I often have heavy heart when I come to work. I feel soooorry for these poor Americans. They looked up to fools like Laaawler and Toooommmy Rich. They also salute the stuuupid flag that Saaaargent Slaaaghter brings to the ring. That is the flag of losers. Piper is really loving this as the fans begin to boo and throw things towards the set. Piper takes this chance to agree with Yamamoto and states that it is this actions that show how little class Americans to have. Yamamoto calls out his men, Mr. Saito and Killer Khan who come out to the set with a box. Yamamoto says, Mis-tah Piper, I want to give you gift. Please open and see what we have made for you. Piper opens the box and sees an American Flag and seems confused. He says, Mr. Yamamoto, I am unsure what I am to do with this. It is a flag of a country that I thought we were both against. Tojo smiles and says please tag flag out of box. Piper obliges and asks the Sheepherders to unravel the giant American flag. As they unravel it, they all begin to smile. They hold up the flag and show it to the camera. It is a normal American flag but across the top of the stars are the letters RIP. The first star has the name Bill Dundee written on it while the next two stars have the names Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson. Tojo says, Evveeeeery time we hurt an American, we place his name on a star. Together, Mis-tah Piper, we fill up the flag with injured Americans and make the world a better place. Piper smiles and says he knows the perfect place for the flag. He drapes it over his set for everyone to see. Piper and Tojo now bow to each other and seem like they now have a goal in place to hurt Americans. Piper wishes Mr. Saito luck in his match against USWA National Champion Tony Atlas which is coming up after this commercial break. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: USWA NATIONAL CHAMPION Tony Atlas vs Mr. Saito with Tojo Yamamoto The match is really back and forth and the crowd is getting nervous that Tony Atlas could lose the National Championship to someone who is Anti-American. Every time it looks like Atlas can get some momentum going, Tojo distracts the ref and Saito turns to some dirty tactic to keep Atlas down. Gordon Solie is really upset by Saito’s tactics and also that Tojo is even at ringside. Tojo recently surrendered his managerial license to once again become a full time wrestler and Solie makes the point that he should not even be at ringside. The crowd begins to go wild as Solie is heard saying, “Indeed, Indeed, it is Hacksaw Reed coming to ringside. Reed goes right after Tojo and the two start to fight outside the ring. This gives Atlas a chance to control the tempo in the ring. Finally after a few minutes with the advantage, Atlas catches Saito in the Gorilla Press Slam for the pin at 12:02. Atlas and Reed head to the interview desk where Atlas thanks Reed for his help and Hacksaw said he owed Atlas one and that he will continue to have his back. They also say how excited they are to be each other’ tag partners in the upcoming USWA World Tag Team Tournament and that they will work together to rid the USWA of people like Ernie Ladd and Tojo Yamamoto. COMMERCIAL PLAYS FOR JERRY LAWLER’S NEW RESTAURANT Match: Pvt. Kernodle vs Dirty Dutch Mantell with Rock Riddle These two have been mainly tag team wrestlers of late but tonight they are going it alone. Dutch plays hard to get in the beginning of the match but this was only to get Kernodle to lose his focus. Kernodle rushed in only to be caught by a knee to the gut. Rock Riddle did his best to distract the ref which gave Mantell more chances to play dirty. Kernodle turned the momentum his way and looked like he might gain the victory after a reverse neckbreaker but that’s when Bobby Jaggers hit the ring with his bull rope and tried to whip Kernodle. Kernodle rolled away in the nick of time and that’s when Cpl. Kirchner joined him in the ring and challenged the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks, under the direction of Rock Riddle, head to the back to fight another day. Kernodle was the winner by disqualification but he is really hot. The Fort Bragg Brotherhood, who were joined by Sgt. Slaughter, headed to the interview desk where both Solie and Russell asked them what that was all about and how they plan on dealing with Tojo Yamamoto, Mr. Saito and Killer Khan. As you would expect, Kernodle was all fired up and said he had no idea why Jaggers entered the ring but if they want a fight, he is willing to meet them. Slaughter said the same about those “maggots from Japan” and said that he wants a “Boot Camp” match with them if they are man enough to accept. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: MAIN EVENT: Jerry Lawler & Tommy Rich vs Austin Idol with Rock Riddle & Roddy Piper with JR Foley Again, the USWA continues to change what wrestling on TV is all about. This is not your typical 1984 wrestling show when the star gets to beat on the sucker of the day. This match pits the 4 biggest stars in the USWA, including the USWA World Heavyweight Champion, Austin Idol, in a first round match to advance in the USWA Tournament and add to that these 4 hate each, this is going to be really special. Gordon Solie begins by saying, “Katie bar the door, indeed, this is going to be something special.” Gordon Solie could not have been more right. This match had it all. From momentum changes to managers trying to get involved to all 4 men in the ring at the same time with Lance Russell saying, “You cannot believe the mayhem. The fans were at the edge of their seats but things looked bleak as Idol was strapped in the Figure 4 on Lawler with Rich and Piper battling on the outside. Lawler just refused to give in and dragged himself to the ropes forcing the break but the King had trouble getting to his feet. All 4 were now back in the ring with both Riddle and Foley on the apron. Idol and Piper were about to whip Lawler and Rich into the boots of their managers who had them draped over the ropes. Lawler and Rich reversed the Irish Whips causing Idol and Piper to crash into their managers, Lawler and Rich both elbowed Piper in the head causing him to fall through the middle rope and out on to the floor. Lawler then whipped Idol into the ropes as Rich connected with a Lou Thesz Press for the pin. Both Riddle and Foley are screaming about the double team move and that Idol was not even the legal man in the ring but the ref will hear nothing of it. The Sheepherders rush out to the aid of Idol and Piper but before they can get to the ring, Reed and Atlas join Rich and Lawler in the ring. The crowd goes wild as for the first time in a while in these parts, Gordon Solie says “No question about it, the good guys are in control. So long from Atlanta, Georgia. The screen fades to black. USWA WRESTLING: 2/26/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 5:05-6:05 TAPPED IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Lance Russell along with Gordon Solie. We have a jam packed show tonight so let’s get right to our first match.” Match: Bam Bam Bigelow and Shane Douglas vs Ken Raper and David Johnson In a rare TV appearance for these rookies, they actually look pretty good. The match ends after a powerslam by Douglas on David Johnson. While they are still a little awkward, there is no denying their power and agility. After the match, Bigelow and Douglas are joined by Jerry Lawler and Tommy Rich at the interview desk. Solie and Russell congratulate the rookies who both say they owe all their success to Jerry Lawler who has been working with them. Lawler pumps them up a bit but then the interview turns to the tournament for the USWA World Tag Titles in which Lawler and Rich just advances to the second round. Rich and Lawler both said how great it would be to win the title but that they also were still after Idol and his world championship. Lawler said that neither Idol nor that slimy manager, Rock Riddle good hide much longer. Rich spoke about how he was just a country boy but his mommy taught him some respect and since Idol wasn’t raised right, that he was going to have to teach him how to be a real man. He was all “fired up” and said that he and Lawler could fight just as dirty as Idol and Piper and that they don’t know what they are in for. They also pump up tonight’s main event that features Lawler, Rich and The Fab Ones vs Idol, Piper and The Sheepherders. Sir Oliver Humperdink makes his way out to the interview desk and Lawler starts his “Humpty Dumpty” routine and wonders why Humperdink has waddled out to the set. Humperdink starts by pointing at Rich and saying that” Rich is a marked man. The House of Humperdink is family and when one of its “dogs” feels betrayed, they will hunt as one. Their prey is one Tommy Rich.” Lawler asks is he has completely lost his marbles and all Humperdink does is start howling at the moon like a Mad Dog.” Gordon Solie breaks in with his “We’ll be back. We’ll be right back.” __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: Hacksaw Reed, Tony Atlas vs Ernie Ladd & Porkchop Cash In another first round match for the USWA World Tag Titles, we see the first time Reed and Ladd have meet since their recent failing out. While Ladd and Reed tried every dirty trick they knew, there was no stopping these two young powerhouses. The end came after a few momentum changes when Reed connected with a Gorilla Press Slam on Cash which lead to the pin at 13:15. Ladd never made any attempt to make the save but kept yelling at Reed saying he aint nothing. It is obvious that the problems between these two are just getting started. After the match, Reed and Atlas go to the interview table where Lance Russell and Gordon Solie ask congratulate them on their win. Reed and Atlas are grateful but Reed continues to yell about Ladd and how he will end his career. Next, Sir Oliver Humperdink and his stable known as the House of Humperdink come out to the interview desk. Humperdink again tells Russell to shut up and Gordon Solie tells Humperdink “that will be enough of that.” __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MATCH: Big Bubba & Hillbilly Jim vs The Clawmasters This is the first time the fans get to see Big Bubba and Hillbilly Jim in action as a team and they love the energy that they bring to the ring. They enter the ring to some down home fiddle music as Hillbilly Jim dances around the ring. As for the match, it is a back and forth affair. Both Baron Von Raschke and The Spoiler were able to clamp on their Iron Claws but both times, they were broken up by their opponents reaching the ropes. The Spoiler showed great agility walking the top rope and following it up with an elbow smash to the head. The House of Humperdink comes out to ringside and Buzz Sawyer and Hercules Hernandez seem to really distract Bubba and Hillbilly Jim. This allowed the Spoiler to once again clamp on the Brain Claw on Bug Bubba and he was forced to submit. This is considered a small upset by Bubba and Jim are furious and went outside the ring where the 4 men really went at it! Lance Russell was heard saying, “You cannot believe the mayhem.” Officials and wrestlers poured out from the back and were able to restore some order as they went to commercial break. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MATCH: MAIN EVENT: 8 Man Tag Team Match Jerry Lawler, Tommy Rich &The Fabulous Ones vs Austin Idol, Roddy Piper & the Sheepherders As you would expect, this was wild from the start. The fan favorites had their moments but the dirty tactics of the heels also allowed them time with the advantage. There were times when Rock Riddle and JR Foley caused enough of a distraction to allow their men to take complete control. All eight men were in the ring at the same time and where paired off in an all-out brawl. Lawler vs Piper, Rich vs Idol and The Fab Ones vs The Sheepherders. Lance Russell was heard saying that there was about 2 minutes left in the show when all of a sudden, The House of Humperdink hit the ring. Buzz Sawyer and another crazed looking man who neither Solie nor Russell knew went right after Wildfire Rich. Hercules Hernandez helped Piper double team Lawler and all three managers joined the Sheepherders in their attack on the Fab Ones. What a huge differences 24 hours has made in the USWA. Last night, the fan favorites ended the show in control of the ring but tonight it is all heels! The fans can’t believe what is happening. Russell wonders if “anybody could handle a fight where the numbers were so against them.” Solie is heard saying that both Rich and Lawler’s heads have been lacerated.” After another minute of the beating the show comes to an end with Gordon Solie’s pleading for order to be restored and his signature sign off. “The USWA says So long from Atlanta. The Credits roll while the chaos continues. The screen fades to black followed by a promo for this Monday's return to the OMNI.

Loved the Mid-South TV show. Great angles and use of our roster. Also love how you do a great job promoting the upcoming shows! The NWA Tag Title Match was very interesting and very well written. Love how Watts keeps control of the promotion and the heels still stand down to him a bit!

UNITED STATES WRESTLING NEWS - The United States Wrestling Association show opened on WTBS to mixed ratings. It did wonderful in the Memphis and Atlanta areas due mostly to the promoting of the show in the final episodes of CWA Wrestling and through advertisements in Atlanta area newspapers that stated that Tommy Rich, Butch Reed and Tony Atlas would be back in action in the new USWA. -The USWA expects viewership to improve as people realize that many of the superstars from Georgia Championship Wrestling will once again be brought into their homes each and every Saturday and Sunday night along with such national figures as Jerry Lawler, Austin Idol and Roddy Piper. -To try and compete with the huge, powerful promotions like the AWA and the NWA, the USWA is still looking for partners throughout the country. Jarrett says he is willing to listen to all offers and would be willing to even give up some control of his World Championships. One person Jarrett would like to speak with is Frizt Von Erich. Fritz my have some interest but Jarrett knows this is not the time or the place. While Fritz Von Erich has been upset lately that World Class Championship Wrestling has been off the air for awhile and would love to get back in the game, he is still in morning due to the death of his son David. -The USWA is very unhappy with the working ability of Korstia Korchenko. He is a horrible wrestler and a bad speaker. Jarrett would love to keep him because nothing sells like a big tough Russian but other wrestlers have been complaining that they might get hurt in the ring with him. Jarrett would love to settle on a 3rd member of the House of Humperdink but is having trouble making the character fit on the national level. He recently decided that Lord Humongous was just such a strange gimmick that he thought the nation would not buy it.

Muskogee and Lafayette got treated real well. Those cards would be pay per views today. Houston was even better. I guess with a roster like yours, you can treat the fans all over the Mid-South to a special show each night.
-
Now that's another great card. Matches 5-10 could all be main events.
-
Love how you are focusing on the major players on your roster. Enjoyed the Macho Man interview and Elizabeth announcement. Strongbows as heels is fun to see develop. Freebirds in a feud! Perfect.

Ted Turner and Jerry Jarrett have to come to an agreement to form the United States Wrestling Association. While Jarrett adds one of the deepest rosters in all of professional wrestling to the deal, it is Turner and WTBS that makes this a special day in professional wrestling. Jarrett and Turner vow to make this a national product that will include a "World Champion" and "World Tag Team Champions." In saying that, Jarrett has released all Ric Flair and the NWA World Tag Team Champions from their upcoming Memphis commitments. WTBS will air two weekly shows on both Saturday and Sunday evenings and a monthly mega show. Turner believes that he has a new concept that brings quality matches into the homes will add to the popularity of the USWA. He was quoted as saying that fans deserve better then the hot shot vs the bottom of the rung guys gets boring. Turner and Jarrett also disagreed with who should do the announcing. Jarrett said that his man, Lance Russell is the best while Turner argued for his man, Gordon Solie. Nothing better than a compromise, they decided to bring them in together and make Dave Brown more an interviewer and special segment type guy. Turner convinced Jarrett that Atlanta was a key market and to win Atlanta they had to bring in Tommy Rich. Jarrett agreed and said Wildfire was also huge in Memphis. To bring in Rich, they did sacrifice Bill Dundee which is a huge loss to the Memphis fan base. The Rock n Roll Express, who were not interested in the amount of travel a national promotion might bring, decided not to sign a new contract. After a bit of scrambling, The USWA was able to secure the services of the Fabulous Ones. Both Turner and Jarrett are ecstatic with this. Turner was able to convince Jarrett that the Cold War was Hot! In order to raise feelings in the fans, they needed to amp up the U.S.-Russian hatred. They were upset that Ivan Koloff was not available so they may have reached deep down into the barrel for their hated Russian when they signed Korstia Korchenko. Jarrett said the Memphis fans are familiar with him and hate him like any other Russian. The former CWA would like to thank Channel 5 TV in Memphis and all of its affiliates throughout the region for their years of support. Lastly, while Memphis and Atlanta will be the centers for this promotion, Turner is looking for growth. He is willing to listen to any and all "territories" that might be interested in bringing their promotion to the USWA. He promises them weekly segments on the WTBS show and also some say and control on both the World Title and The World Tag Title. Turner says all they need to do is contact them and he will listen to all offers.

CWA WRESTLING: 2/18/1984: MSC STUDIOS (Memphis) SHOWN ON FOX AFFILIATES THROUGHOUT TENNESSEE, ARKANSAS, KENTUCKY, AND PARTS OF MISSISSIPPI, MISSOURI AND INDIANA. SEGMENT #1: THIS WEEK IN THE CWA BY DAVE BROWN · MATCH OF THE WEEK: AWA SOUTHERN TAG TITLE: Rock n Roll Express vs The Sheepherders. The Sheepherders have been getting closer and closer to defeating the champions over the past few weeks. Well this time, the Sheepherders defeated the Rock n Roll Express to become the new champions. Luke Williams and Butch Miller were especially brutal in this match and it was this viciousness that put them over the top. The end came when Morton was thrown to the ring floor and appeared to injure his leg. Williams then draped Morton’s leg across the stairs to the ring as Miller leaped from the apron. Many who were ringside said they heard the leg snap as it appeared Morton broke his leg. The Sheepherders rolled him back into the ring for the easy cover and they are the new AWA Southern Heavyweight Champion. For this victory, the Sheepherders also claim this week’s honor of Tag Team of the Week. · TAG TEAM OF THE WEEK: The Sheepherders · WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: MR. USA TONY ATLAS With a win over Butch Reed this past Monday, Tony Atlas became the new NWA Mid-American Champion · OTHER NOTES: The Kansas Jayhawks lost their NWA Mid-American Tag Team Championship to Mark and Jay Youngblood. After the match, the Youngbloods said they have other NWA commitments in the St. Louis area and will be out of the area for a while. It seems the CWA has lost a tag team title as the Youngbloods left with their new belts. They did give the fans some hope as they said they will be fighting champions and will be back from time to time. COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO TURN TO WTBS THIS SUNDAY NIGHT AT 5:05 FOR A SPECIAL WRESTLING PRESENTATION SEGMENT #2 MATCH: Plowboy Frazier vs Ken Raper Frazier, accompanied to the ring with the two huge men that we saw at the Mid-South Coliseum this past Monday, easily wins this squash match with a Big Splash at 4:47. After the match Frazier and the two monsters go to the interview table where Lance Russell asks Plowboy Frazier who these two guys are and about his match with Sir Oliver Humperdink last Monday Night. Frazier begins by saying that there are two things you aught ta know about people who grow up out in the country. The first is that sometimes they rush into things and don’t think about the consequences and this is exactly what he did when asking Jerry Jarett to make his match against Sir Oliver Humperdink a No DQ match. He wanted revenge on Humperdink so bad that he only thought about how this type of match could benefit him and not how Humperdink would use it to his advantage and attack him with all the members of his stable. The second thing you aught ta know about country folk is that you can always count on family and these two fellas with me today are family. He points to one and introduces him as his cousin from Kentucky, Hillbilly Jim. He then points to the other and introduces him as his Big Cousin, Bubba, who, like himself is from Pascagoula, Mississippi. He thanks both of them for their help the other night against the House of Humperdink. Hillbilly Jim and Cousin Bubba say how family is family and that they always got each other’s back. They then turn their attention to the House of Humperdink and say how much fun it is going to be to put these fellas in their place. Lance Russell is still in awe of the size of these guys and says that for once, Humperdink better watch his back! COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO TURN TO WTBS THIS SUNDAY NIGHT AT 5:05 FOR A SPECIAL WRESTLING PRESENTATION. SEGMENT #3: MATCH: Jimmy Valiant and Troy Graham vs The Nightmares The fans went wild as they heard the first cord of “The Boy from New York City” blare through the speakers. Unless they were at the Mid-South Coliseum last Monday night, they did not know the Valiant was back in the area. They were also surprised when his partner was introduced as Troy Graham but he came out as The Dream Machine. The match was a fast past match that saw the Nightmares try to turn the tide with some dirty tactics. Valiant and Troy Graham finally had enough and started throwing some wild haymakers of their own. The end came when Jimmy Valiant caught Nightmare #1 with a diving elbow drop which got him the pin at 5:56. After the match, Valiant and The Dream Machine went to the interview desk. Lance welcomed Valiant back to the area before he asked him the question that was on everyone’s mind. “Was that you as the Dream Machine All Along” or was that the first time last Monday Night. Valiant, as only Valiant good started talking in a wild manner. He said a lot of things but never answered the question. His basic answer was the every night in Memphis is a dream and he loves to be the machine! Russell then turned to Troy Graham and asked why he was now in the mask of the Dream machine but last Monday Night, it was Valiant under the mask. Graham responded by saying as a goof and to make Ernie Ladd angry, he bought the mask off of Valiant for $1 and that now he could be the Dream Machine anytime he wanted. Ernie Ladd came out to the set and started screaming how Valiant and Graham were cheaters and that he was not going to let them get away with. Graham and Valiant started to laugh which further infuriated Ladd. It looked like Ladd was about to attack them 1 on 2 until at the last second, Hacksaw Reed came out. Again, unless the fans were at the Coliseum, they thought Reed was with Ladd. Ladd immediately backed away as Reed started pushing him and screaming that he has no right to call anyone a cheat after what he has done. Reed pushes Ladd so hard that he stumbles to the ground. The crowd is going wild as Ladd basically scurries to the locker room as the other 3 embrace. The victors went to the interview desk where Gordon Solie asked Kernodle and Kirchner how they were able to get Sgt. Slaughter to team with them for their recent match with Tojo Yamamoto, Mr. Saito and Killer Khan. Kernodle and Kirchner said that they knew Sarge this their military days and that when Slaughter heard they were having trouble with The Shogunate him came running. Sgt. took the mic and said that any day these “maggots” want more, he will be ready and able. He said he was sick and tired on these people coming to America, taking our money and then bad mouthing this great country. The fans went wild after these words. Slaughter then took an American Flag and ran into the ring waving it proudly. Kernodle, Kirchner and many of the fans saluted Sarge and they hope he will be around more often. SEGMENT #5: Match: House of Humperdink Challenge: Buzz Sawyer and Hercules Hernandez vs Sweet Brown Sugar and Bam Bam Bigelow If Sweet Brown Sugar and Bam Bam Bigelow can last 10 minutes, they will get $10,000 of Sir Oliver Humperdink’s money. Two minutes into the match, it’s obvious that there is no chance that this will happen. Sawyer and Hernandez are just toying with their opponents. Bam Bam Bigelow has a brief moment when he goes on the attack but Sawyer thrusts a knee into his solar plexus. From there, it is just one big beating. The end comes when Sawyer hits a Frog Splash on Sweet Brown Sugar at 4:02. The House of Humperdink goes to the interview desk, where Humperdink insults the intelligence of Jerry Jarrett and wonders why his men are not receiving any championship matches. When Lance Russell brings up Plowboy Frazier and his relatives, Humperdink goes wild and says that they are nothing but country bumpkins and why should his men have to waste their time with bums like that? Russell asks Humperdink if he is not just ducking these huge men and maybe he is a little frightened about what the outcome might be. This really sets Humperdink off and he threatens to have his men beat Russell and that he better watch his mouth. The House of Humperdink storms off set. Segment #6 Match: Mr. Saito vs Wendell Cooley The match was very one-sided as Mr. Saito’s experience had the youngster chasing his own tail. The match came to an end after some huge chops by Saito were ollowed up by a Saito Suplex at 4:21. After the match. Mr. Saito was joined by Tojo Yamamoto and Killer Khan at the interview desk where Lance Russell asked them about Sgt. Slaughter and how he helped the Ft. Bragg Brotherhood at the Mid-South Coliseum. Tojo started to talk and he was very deliberate in his message. “Mistah Sgt. Slaaaauuuuughhhter. You are typical American with no guts. You sneak attack me and my men like gutless American. You are coward like the rest of this disgusting country.” From out of nowhere comes Sgt. Slaughter, Cpl. Kirchner and Pvt. Kernodle. The fight is on as the 6 men really go after each other. Lance Russell is asking for help from the back but only a few officials show up and they are useless. This melee continues on and on but nobody seems to take the upper hand. Eventually, wrestlers from the back pour out and restore order. Sgt. Slaughter once again grabs the microphone and challenges the “maggots” to a match anytime and anyplace and that he will not stand for people insulting America while he is around. COMMERCIAL PLAYS FOR JERRY LAWLER’S NEW RESTAURANT SEGMENT #7 Main Event Match: Jerry “The King” Lawler vs The Spoiler A great match for TV that showed Lawler start quick but the Spoiler was able to gain control after an eye rake. He then proceeded to walk the top rope while controlling Lawler with an armbar. From there, the Spoiler leaped off the rope and connected with a big elbow. Lawler was in more trouble as The Spoiler was able to capture Lawler in a Brain Claw. Lawler refused to give up and resorted to breaking the rules himself with an eye rake. The two began to brawl but this time Lawler gained the advantage. After working over the Spoiler for a few minutes, he had him primed for his top rope fist drop. As Lawler climbed to the top rope, Dirty Dutch Mantel and Bobby Jaggers hit the ring and shoved him to the mat. From here they whipped him with their bull ropes. With each crack of the whip, Lawler let out a scream of agony. Lawler was beaten for a good 5 minute with no aid coming for him. The Kansas Jayhawks left him lying in the middle of the ring as they headed to the interview desk. Before they got their they were joined by a very well dressed, tanned man in sunglasses and the CWA Champion, Austin Idol who had part of his face bandaged. This injury to Idol was most likely the result of the fireball that Lawler threw at him last week. Lance Russell asked Idol what this is all about. Idol responds that after last week when Jerry Lawler threw a fire ball at his face and caused 2nd degree burns that he knew that Lawler was sick and that he had to protect himself. He said that he is the face of the CWA and that if Jerry Jarrett wasn’t going to protect him, then he would protect himself. Idol went on to say that the sharp dressed man is his new manager, Rock Riddle and that Riddle will manage both his professional life and his finances. Idol continued to say that he has hired The Kansas Jayhawks to be his personal security team. Dutch Mantell and Bobby Jaggers will continue to wrestle but they will also be at the side of Austin Idol whenever he is in a potentially dangerous situation. Rock Riddle takes the microphone as says that he is the original “Mr. Wonderful” and that anything he has ever touched has turned to gold. He knows Idol is a wonderful wrestle but he has been cast into the shadows of Lawler here in Memphis. He announces that he will change that. If Idol pays attention to what he has to say, his life will be more fabulous then one can imagine. Riddle points to the ring where Lawler is still struggling to get to his feet. Riddle tells Idol that Lawler will never be able to get to him again. Riddle promises Idol that between the Kansas Jayhawks and himself, Idol is in a perfect place. He also tells the Jayhawks that he will help guide them to the world tag team championship. To the fans, Riddle gives off an air of arrogance and seems like a slimy used car salesmen but Idol seems all in. Lance Russell says that Idol is going all out to protect himself and that maybe Lawler crossed the line with the fireball. While all of this was going, Lawler had only managed to get to his knees in the squared circle. COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO TURN TO WTBS THIS SUNDAY NIGHT AT 5:05 FOR A SPECIAL WRESTLING PRESENTATION. SEGMENT 8: THE FIRST EPISODE OF PIPER’S PIT Just off to the right of Lance Russell and Dave Brown another area is set up for what looks like an interview. The set is red with two huge pictures of Roddy Pipper and what one would guess would be his family crest. Roddy Piper makes his way out to the set and sits in one of the two chairs that are there. The Sheepherders follow Piper out and stand behind him with their arms folded. Piper welcomes all the fans to the first ever Piper’s Pit and announces that his first guest will be Superstar Bill Dundee. The crowd goes wild as Dundee cautiously makes his way to the set. Piper extends a hand but Dundee refuses. Piper shrugs it off and asks Dundee to sit. Dundee, starring at the Sheepherders, carefully takes a seat. The interview starts with Piper actually complimenting him for such a tough match last Monday. Dundee responses by saying if it was not for Piper’s dirt bag of a manager, JR Foley, and Piper using a low blow, that he would be the AWA Southern Champion right now. Piper again shrugs off Dundee’s comment and moves on to the next question. He asks Dundee about why a man from Australia, a country that is a member of the British Commonwealth, stomachs these stupid fans and these ignorant Americans. Dundee yells at Piper and calls him classless. This time instead of shrugging it off, Piper goes back at Dundee. He yells at Dundee saying he is anything but classless. Just look at all the attention he is given to Dundee. Piper asks Dundee how he could call him classless when he gives “little” people like him title shots and TV interviews. Dundee gets out of his chair and asks Piper if he is calling him little? Piper yells at Dundee that even his ears must be small if he didn’t hear him. Piper goes on to say that Dundee has a great chance at becoming a World Champion but that he just must be honest with himself first and go into MIDGET wrestling. This sets Dundee off and he shoves Piper. The Sheepherders quickly go on the attack and beat Dundee to a bloody mess. He is so bloody, the station has censored his face. Piper proceeds to put him in the Figure 4. While Dundee is screaming in agony, Butch Miller and Luke Williams take the metal chairs and start hitting him in the legs with it. These might be two broken legs by the Sheepherders in the last week. Lance Russell is yelling for Piper to stop and for help to get out here. With Lawler hurt in the last segment, there is nobody coming to Dundee’s aid. The beating continues as the credits roll. The screen fades to black. USWA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING: 2/19/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 5:05-6:05 MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE SEGMENT #1: INTRODUCTION TO THE USWA Lance Russell and Gordon Solie welcome fans on WTBS to the first ever nationally televised episode of UNITED STATES WRESTLING ASSOCIATION. They continue to explain that this great show came to be after a partnership between Jerry Jarrett and Ted Turner was formed. As part of the deal, The USWA is a combination of the old CWA and Georgia Championship Wrestling. They explain that Memphis and Atlanta will be the centers of the promotion and that the Mid-South Coliseum and The Omni will be host to a majority of the major events but fans could expect to see great shows wherever the USWA goes. The USWA will alternate where it is tapped from between Memphis and Atlanta and that the USWA will have two weekly shows that air on WTBS. One show will air on Saturdays at 6:05-8:05 while the other show will air on Sunday from 5:05-6:05. Their will also be monthly Super Cards to air on either Sundays or Mondays on WTBS. Solie said that Turner hopes to turn WTBS into the “Wrestling Mecca of the Television World and bring the USWA right to the top.” Russell says that whatever Turner has touched so far has turned to gold so the USWA seems like the place to be. They also explain the title structure here in the USWA and the current champs which in most places have carried over from the CWA Roll Call of Champions. USWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Austin Idol USWA NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Tony Atlas USWA SOUTHERN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Roddy Piper USWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Vacant USWA SOUTHERN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Sheepherders Lance and Gordon rap of the first segment by reminding fans of the great event at the Mid-South Coliseum last Monday night and that in fact this was the first USWA Wrestling Event in history. They explain that it was billed as a CWA event only because the contract talks between Jarrett and Turner had not yet been finalized. They also told fans to hold on to their seats as this was going to be a wild ride and it would be thrilling to bring the great wrestlers of the USWA into the homes of the entire country. COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS SEGMENT #2 Match: Hacksaw Butch Reed vs Porkchop Cash Reed wins a really tough match against one of Ernie Ladd’s goons. The end came after many momentum changes when Reed connected with a Gorilla Press Slam on Cash which lead to the pin at 9:15. The fans are excited and hope these type of matches will be the norm on USWA Wrestling! After the match, Reed goes to the interview table where Lance Russell and Gordon Solie ask him to take a look at his match with Tony Atlas from last Monday night where he lost his title. The video shows Ernie Ladd, who he thought was on his side, hit him with a “Big Boot” which allowed Atlas to get the pin. Then Ladd turned on Reed and attacked him only to have Atlas come to Reed’s aid. Reed and Atlas shook hands at the end. The first thing Reed asked for was Tony Atlas to come out to the interview desk which he did. The crowd roared as Atlas carried out the new UWSW National Title. Reed began by saying he was sorry to all the fans and to Tony for his actions since arriving in Memphis. He said he made a huge mistake trusting Ladd about what he said about how racist the people here were and that Atlas was only an Uncle Tom. Reed finished by saying that he would now focus on ending the career of Ladd so that he could not hurt anyone else. He also told Atlas that he had his back and that he owed him one. Atlas again shook hands with him and told him that together, they would rid the USWA of Ernie Ladd. Next, Sir Oliver Humperdink and his stable known as the House of Humperdink come out to the interview desk. Humperdink again tells Russell to shut up and Gordon Solie tells Humperdink “that will be enough of that.” COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS SEGMENT #3: MATCH: Pvt. Kernodle and Sgt. Slaughter vs The Nightmares The match showcases all the talent of the fan favorites and to the delight of the fans, the end came after Sarge strapped in the Cobra Clutch on Nightmare #1 at 10:01. The victors and Kernodle’s regular partner, Cpl. Kirchner, went to the interview desk but before they got their they were attacked by the Shogunate; Tojo Yamamoto, Killer Khan and Mr. Saito. To the delight of the fans, the Ft. Bragg Brotherhood gained the upper hand in this doonybrook and the Shogunate hightailed it back to the locker rom. Sgt. Slaughter took the mic and said that any day these “maggots” want more, he will be ready and able. COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS SEGMENT #4: PIPER’S PIT WITH JERRY LAWLER AS THE SPECIAL GUEST! Piper, with the Sheepherders behind him, welcomes all the fans to Piper’s Pit. He announces that his guest will be none other than Jerry “he King” Lawler. As the fans go wild, Lawler cautiously comes out. Piper offers him a hand shake but Lawler responds by saying that he will not fall for any of Piper’s tricks and let’s just get this over with. Piper actually congratulates Lawler for his match last Monday against Austin Idol when Lawler hit Idol with a fireball and was disqualified. Lawler asks what type of game Piper is playing. Piper says “No game. Piper said that up until last Monday, Piper thought that he was the most dirty wrestler in all of the USWA but now after Lawler tried to permanently blind Idol, it was obvious that Lawler was by far the dirties player in the game. Lawler told Piper to shut up and move on to the next topic. Piper seemed happy to do just that. Piper asked Lawler to watch the video screen which showed a commercial for Lawler’s new restaurant, SLAMBURGERS! When the video stops, Piper praises Lawler for forward thinking and that he gives Lawler credit for recognizing that he is on the downside of his wrestling career and that a short order cook would be a good second career. Lawler is really boiling now and starts to go back at Piper questioning why he wears a skirt if he is such a tough guy. Piper warns Lawler to careful and reminds him that there may not be many people who have his back anymore. He reminds him of the injuries to the Rock n Roll Express and Superstar Bill Dundee. Lawler is really fuming now and blames Piper and the Sheepherders for these injuries. The Sheepherders now move in closer as Piper starts to recite Humpty Dumpty and really stresses the part where “All the Kings Horses and All the King’s Men Couldn’t Put Jerry Lawler Together Again.” The Sheepherders close in on Lawler and are ready to attack when Piper asks Lawler how it feels to be all alone. Lawler just smiles and warns Piper and the Sheepherders to back up if they know what is good for them. Piper just laughs as they get ready to attack! From out of nowhere comes Tommy “Wildfire” Rich, Steve Keirn and Stan Lane (The Fabulous Ones) Together with Lawler, they just beat the hell out of Piper and the Sheepherders. There is total chaos as the top 7 wrestlers in the USWA are brawling all over the studio. Gordon Solie is heard saying “Wait a minute, Wait a minute! A pier 6 brawl has broken out.” And we really need some help out here to get order restored.” USWA says So long from Memphis, Tennessee. The Credits roll while the chaos continues. The screen fades to black.

Isn't wrestling in general a bit gimmicky. Great use of your roster and a really fun show to read. Patrick was right. You have a wonderful tag division and when your champ is away, use the hand that you are dealt. Road Warriors vs The Samoans is a Main Event match anywhere, anytime. Martel is as good as anyone in the game, Many is a Bull, and never count out Buddy Landell. He is just as good as the other nature boy. Hogan better becareful when he returns.

CWA WRESTLING: MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1984 ST. VALENTINE’S EVES MASSACRE MATCH #1: PVT KERNODLE, CPL. KIRCHNER & A MYSTERY PARTNER VS KILLER KHAN, MR. SAITO & TOJO YAMAMOTO PVT. Don Kernodle and Corporal Kirchner come to the ring first and you could just feel the suspense in the air. Who would be their tag team partner? All of a sudden, the crowd erupted as Sgt. Slaughter made his way down the aisle. He enters the ring and hugs his military brethren. Tojo leads the Shogunate out to a loud chorus of boos. The fans are letting them have it but they are giving it right back. The match is back and forth as includes many quick tags. The action got a little wild as Mr. Saito and Cpl. Kirchner were the legal men in the ring but they took the action to the aisles and walkways of the Coliseum. Somehow neither men were counted out. Once the action returned to the ring, Tojo was tagged in but at the same time, so was Sgt. Slaughter. The crowd went wild as these two men stood toe to toe with other and traded punches and chops. Eventually Slaughter won the exchange and he followed it up with a huge body slam. As Tojo was recovering, Slaughter was lurking behind him. As Tojo began to rise, Slaughter slapped on the Cobra Clutch! Both Saito and Khan try to rush in a save their manager, but the Brotherhood cut them off. The crowd roared as Tojo slumped down to the mat as the lights began to go out! The ref raised Tojo’s arm for a count of 1…2….3….. The fans rejoiced in America’s success and the FT. Bragg Brotherhood saluted them Sgt. Slaughter out of respect. How did they get him as a partner! · The Fort Bragg Brotherhood & Sgt. Slaughter defeated The Shogunate by submission at 19:43. MATCH #2 NWA MID-AMERICAN TAG TITLE MATCH THE KANSAS JAYHAWKS: DUTCH MANTELL & BOBBY JAGGERS VS MARK & JAY YOUNGLOOD The Youngbloods are excited about this match as they are back together as a team and with a chance to win the title! The brothers enter the ring in full Native American garb. The Kansas Jayhawks strut to the ring with even more arrogance than usual. They are also in full gear with their black cowboy hats, long cowboy coats, bull whips and a mouth full of tobacco. They enter to Willie Nelson’s “My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys.” The fan favorites control the early part of the match. Mark and Jay chop away at the champs but they fail to connect on any big moves. This pace allowed “Dirty” Dutch and the Hangman Bobby Jaggers to gain the advantage. After an unclean break, Jaggers really put it on Mark. He took a huge beating that included an Elbow Drop off the Top Rope by Jaggers. Jay was able to make the save but Mark couldn’t make a tag. Finally, Mark tagged in his brother and Jay cleaned house. Mark recovered quickly and the two went on the warpath. Jay was able to catch Dirty Dutch and he scooped him up onto his shoulders and nailed him with a fall down back body drop. The ref went for the pin as Jagger entered the ring to break up the tag. Mark rushed in a caught Jaggers with a chop that echoed throughout the arena. This allowed Ref Jerry Calhoun to complete the 3 count and the crowd went wild. The Youngbloods with the belts as the Kansas Jayhawks look stunned. The Youngbloods win the bout by pin at 13:24 and we have new Mid-American Tag Champs. MATCH #3 NWA MID-AMERICAN TITLE MATCH HACKSAW BUTCH REED VS MR. USA TONY ATLAS This is the second time this two freaks of nature have faced off for the NWA Mid-American Title. The first one ended in a 30 minute draw that saw some huge power moves performed by both men. Once again, Ernie Ladd escorts Butch Reed to the ring. Nobody seems to know why this is allowed. He is a wrestler and not a manager but I guess Jerry Jarrett has decided to pick his battles and this is not going to be one of them. His match was the same. Each man was able to really work the other over but neither could gain a pin-fall. The action spilled out onto the floor where the two threw some huge haymakers. Atlas was able to bodyslam Reed on the concrete floor and make his way back into the ring. It appeared that Reed would be counted out but Ladd picked him up and rolled Reed back in the ring. The crowd thought this be both great and strange at the same time. If Reed was counted out, he would have retained his title. By Ladd putting him in the ring, Atlas still had a chance to become champ. Atlas now with a huge advantage, scooped up Reed into a massive Bearhug! Reed refused to give up but was greatly weakened when Atlas broke the hold. The two once again began to trade blows. Ladd, once again, made his presence known and got up on the apron. Reed caught Atlas with a wild right hand and tried to whip him into the ropes. Ladd saw this and thought this was his chance. He started to pick up his right leg for a Big Boot on Atlas. Mr. USA reversed the move at the last minute and WHAM! Ladd nailed Reed with a Big Boot. While Ladd looked on in shock, Atlas rushed in for the pin. Ref Paul Morton began the count 1…. 2…. 3…. Tony Atlas has won the match and we have a new NWA Mid-American Champion. Ladd seems so angry but nobody knows why. He was the cause of this pin. He enters the ring and starts to kick and punch and chop at Reed. Reed his so warn out from the match, that he can’t fight back. Reed is in serious trouble as Ladd is going wild. Suddenly, Atlas attacks Ladd from behind. He is all over him. With a sudden surge of adrenaline, Atlas lifts the 6’9, 320 pounder over his head for a Press Slam. Ladd is down and out. Reed looks on and is stunned. Atlas walks over to Reed and extends his hand. Reed unsure what to do just looks at Atlas. Atlas leaves the hand there for what seems to be an uncomfortable amount of time. Reed…………… reaches out and………………. Shakes it! The crowd goes wild! · Tony Atlas wins by pin at 18:03 and we have a new NWA Mid-American Champion MATCH 4: PLOWBOY FRAZIER VS SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK: _ (NO DQ) This match was sanctioned when Jerry Jarrett gave Plowboy Frazier the choice of wrestling any member of the House of Humperdink on this card. Frazier said he had no hard feelings against any member of the House of Humperdink, just Sir Oliver himself. He also asked for a No DQ stipulation as he felt Humperdink would just run away. The fans are excited to see Humperdink get what he deserves. Humperdink is first to the ring and he seems really scared. When Frazier enters the ring and the bell is rung, Humperdink tries to run and hide but there is little room. He slips out of the ring and continues to run away from Plowboy. Frazier tries to catch him but as you would expect, the 400+ pounder isn’t too quick. Humperdink begins to run up the aisle and it seems like there will be no match. Frazier is in hot pursuit when all of a sudden, the entire House of Humperdink comes at Frazier. The 4-1 beating he is getting is tough to watch. The House of Humperdink is barbaric in their abuse. After two minutes or so, they have destroyed Frazier and have him back in the ring. Humperdink, in another cocky move, places a boot on the belly of Frazier as Ref Paul Morton makes the three count. The fans realize that Humperdink has again out-smarted his opponent. Or has he….. As the House of Humperdink are laughing and having a grand old time, 2 huge, and I mean huge men with thick beards and overalls make their way to the ring. Each man must be 6’5 or bigger and weigh in excess of 350 pounds. They just step over the top rope and begin throwing wild haymakers and stomping the House of Humperdink. It didn’t matter that it was 4-2, these two quickly cleared the ring and they did most of it with a smile on their face. Next, they went to Plowboy and helped him to his feet. When he saw who it was, his face broke out in a smile from ear to ear. He seemed to forget all about his pain. We will have to find out who these two monster are. · Sir Oliver Humperdink wins by pin at 5:07. MATCH 5 ERNIE “THE BIG CAT” LADD VS THE DREAM MACHINE (Mask vs $10,000) This feud has been raging for a couple of months now. Ladd’s Army has been harassed by the Dream Machine for a while and by any means necessary. Ladd has placed a bounty of $10,000 on the mask which he claims hides the face of Troy Graham. CWA President, Jerry Jarrett has decided to let these two settle their own problem’s tonight. If Ladd wins, the mask comes off. If The Dream Machine wins, he gets Ladd’s $10,000. The fans are all over Ladd as he makes his way to the ring. As instructed, he hands a suitcase filled with the money over to ref Paul Morton. As the match gets under way, it is all Ladd. The Big Cat uses his 6’9 frame to chop The Dream Machine down to the ground. He locks in the Abdominal Stretch and really pulls Machine from one end to the other but he refuses to give up. As he has the move locked in, the crowd begins to make some commotion. Ladd has his back to the walkway to the locker room and since he doesn’t want to break the hold doesn’t know what is going on. Finally he can’t take it anymore. He throws the Dream Machine to the ground and turns around. He can’t believe his eyes. It is Troy Graham standing on the apron. Troy simply hops down to the floor as Ernie Ladd’s mouth is wide open in stunned disbelief. From behind, The Dream Machine simply rolls up Ernie Ladd. As the ref makes the 3 count, The Dream Machine jumps up and celebrates. He knows he is now $10,000 richer! Ref Paul Morton hands over the suitcase and Graham and The Dream Machine celebrate. The Dream Machine yells to Ladd as he is exiting the ring and Ladd turns around. The Dream Machine slowly unties his mask and as he pulls it off there is a gasp from the fans followed by a huge ovation. The fans are going wild as it is none other than “The Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant! · The Dream Machine wins at 12:31. MATCH 6 AWA SOUTHERN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH ROWDY RODDY PIPER WITH JR FOLEY VS SUPERSTAR BILL DUNDEE Once again, Foley, Piper, The flag of the British Commonwealth, the bag pipes, the kilt and the brashness of the entire Commonwealth has the fans really giving it to Piper and Foley on their way to the ring. As for the match, it is high intensity with many momentum changes. Foley is all over ref Jerry Calhoun but seemed to be staying out of the match for the most part. That is until both wrestlers were out on the floor. He was able to get the ref’s attention and this allowed Piper to grab a roll of quarters that he had in his trunks. Dundee was unable to block the loaded right hand from Piper and was out cold. Jerry Calhoun unsure of what had happened, had no choice but to make the 3 count once he turned his attention back to the match. · Roddy Piper wins by pin at 17:21 due to a foreign object MATCH 7: AWA SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The ROCK n ROLL EXPRESS VS THE SHEEPHERDERS with JR Foley The Rock N Roll Express, the AWA Southern Tag Team Champions enter the ring to KISS and “Rock N Roll All Night.” This is a return bout from last Monday night that saw the Rock n Roll Express survive. It also will not be the last time these teams meet as they are two of the most dominate tag teams in the world. The Sheepherders with their disgraceful manager, JR Foley make their way to the ring taunting each and every fan along the way. As the match starts, it is the RnR Express who takes control but it is short lived. Both teams are so talented on defense and in the art of tag team wrestling that there are many quick tags and reversals in the early going. The Sheepherders take control after a double team on Gibson that included many kicks and punches. After one more tag, Gibson was on the canvass after a massive head-butt from Butch Miller. From here, Miller tossed Gibson out of the ring where Foley was lurking. Morton rushed over to try and prevent any dirty tactics but this just turned out to be all 4 brawling out on the floor, as ref Paul Morton started the 10 count, it looked like both teams were going to be counted out but at the last second, Gibson and Miller got back in the ring. On his way back to his corner, Morton nailed Foley to the delight of the crowd. Inside the ring, both Sheepherders just went wild on Gibson. When the ref finally restores order it looked like Gibson was in huge trouble. Somehow he made it to his corner and tagged in Ricky Morton. Morton just cleared house, taking on both Sheepherders at the same time but as he whipped Miller into the ropes, Miller hooked his arms around the ropes which caused Morton to miss his dropkick. The Sheepherders now continued their mauling of the RnR Express. Morton is thrown to the floor where he seems to have injured his leg. The Sheepherders see this and Williams drapes the right leg across the ring stairs as Miller leaps from the apron across the dangling leg. Morton is screaming in pain. He can’t seem to put any pressure on it. Again, The Sheepherders hold the leg down as the others leaps from the apron. It appears that leg is badly injured. Williams rolls Morton back into the ring and Williams covers him. Ref Paul Morton makes the three count and we have new AWA Southern Tag Team Champions! The fans are still upset at the recent turn by Austin Idol and are hoping their King can win the CWA Title tonight. The match is very physical but they are both staying within the confines of the rules. Idol is able to control this as he used his power advantage to back Lawler towards the corner and catch him with an open hand chop across the side of Lawler’s head. WHAM! Lawler had grabbed Idol and whipped him right into Calhoun who hits the canvas. Lawler now takes complete control and figures what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
