USWA WRESTLING: 4/14/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 6:05-8:05 TAPED IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA The show opens with a VTR of last week’s attack by the House of Humperdink on the Iron Curtain. The House of Humperdink really put a beating on Korstia Korchenko and the tape ends with Korchenko, on a stretcher, being put into an ambulance. “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Lance Russell along with Gordon Solie. We have a jam packed show tonight so let’s get right to it. Lance Russell and Gordon Solie welcome fans to the Saturday night show on WTBS and they give a rundown of what’s instore for the fans tonight. Gordon Solie gives a quick update on the wrestling spectacular to take place right here in Memphis on April 23rd. The event is being billed as Memphis Roundhouse Revival and all USWA Champions will be in action. Lance Russell continues to push USWA VOLUME #1 which is now available on VHS and is being offered for just $19.95. This great video contains over 5 hours of non-stop action that includes matches with all your favorite superstars. Gordon Solie then “welcomes” in Sir Oliver Humperdink. Humperdink is really wired up. First he says that he is so happy that Korchenko is out of action and the America people should thank him for putting that commie out of the USWA. For once, the fans agree with Humperdink and give him a round of applause. Lance Russell explains that the attack has really angered the rest of the Iron Curtain, Alexis Smirnoff and Kris Markov and that they have gone to Jerry Jarrett and demanded a Russian Chain Match where all 4 men will be tied together by a long steel chain and that Jarrett has signed the match for Memphis Roundhouse Revival on April 23rd. Humperdink’s excitement continues as he quickly says his team of Buzz Sawyer and Hercules Hernandez can’t wait. Gordon Solie then turns his attention to the Crusher Ottman/Bam Bam Bigelow situation. Ottman has defeated Bigelow in each of the last two weeks but both times it took more than the 5 minute time limit set forth by Humperdink himself in the HUMPERDINK CHALLENGE. Due to the length of the match, he was forced to pay Bigelow $5000.00. Humperdink’s excitement turns quickly to pure anger. He starts screaming how the fix was in and Jarrett is just trying to steal his money. He has seen the video tape over 50 times Humperdink says he timed in each time and it was 4:59. He threatens lawsuits against Jarrett but that has become a weekly occurrence. Jarrett comes out and defends the decision of the official time keeper and that Humperdink can yell and scream all he wants. He also reminds Humperdink that the reason Crusher Ottman won at all was because of his interference. Humperdink again goes wild calling Jarrett a liar and threatens more lawsuits. Jarrett tells him to “Shut Up.” The fans love this are really go nuts. Jarrett continues by telling him Ottman is going to face Bigelow again but this time in a Steel Cage. Humperdink seemed excited at first when he announced the match but again lost it when he heard steel cage. He knows now that he will not be able to get involved. Gordon Solie just kind of laughs and brings us to our first commercial break. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MATCH: 6 MAN TAG MATCH: Tommy Rich, Jerry Lawler and Bam Bam Bigelow vs The Shogunate: Tojo Yamamoto, Killer Khan and Mr. Saito In just under 10 days, the USWA World Tag Team Champions, Tommy Rich and Jerry Lawler will face Mr. Saito and Killer Khan. Tonight, Rich and Lawler are trying to seek some revenge on the Shogunate for a few unprovoked attacks in the last month that left Tommy Rich injured. He has been on crutches for the past 3 weeks and this is his first match back in action. As for the match, it is a wild one where the fan favorites had their way early but then Tojo had an eye rake on Tommy Rich and tagged in Mr. Saito. Saito really went to work on that leg of Wildfire catching him in the Prison Lock, a kneeling figure 4. Somehow, Rich did not submit and all hell broke loose. For a while it was hard to tell who the legal combatants are. On the outside of the ring, Saito continued to work on Rich and his leg while Khan nailed Lawler with the Asian Green mist. In the ring Tojo chopped away at Bigelow and then went for his finisher the Stomach Claw but in an amazing move, the 350 pounder hit Tojo square on the jaw with a standing dropkick. He then picked up Tojo and whipped into the ropes. WHAM……. A huge power slam on Tojo and ref Paul Morton makes the 3 count. Tojo is flat on his back as Bigelow than goes out of the ring and rams Saito in the steel barricade. He follows this up by grabbing Killer Khan by the head and ramming it over and over again into the ring post. The crowd goes wild as the winners go to the interview desk. Both Solie and Russell congratulate them on their victory and really push Bigelow to the fans. Lawler and Rich are so excited as Lawler talks about the big man with flame tattoos on his head like he is the second coming. Bigelow just expresses how grateful he is for the help Lawler and Rich have given him and the he was so excited to get a chance to repay them tonight. All of them warn The Shogunate that they are in for another beating at Memphi Roundhouse Revival. Solie again congratulates Bigelow on the biggest win in his early career and wishes him luck in his upcoming cage match against Crusher Ottman. Lance Russell tells the fans that they will be right back after this break. _________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: USWA NATIONAL CHAMPION TONY ATLAS VS NIGHTMARE #2 (Non-Title) This match was not much of a test for Atlas as he was just too powerful. The end came when he nailed the Nightmare with a Gorilla Press Slam. As soon as ref Jerry Calhoun finished the 3 count, the Sheepherders marched out to the ring as Solie warns Atlas with his “Waitaminute” call. For once the Sheepherders do not go full steam ahead but wait on the apron as Atlas is trying to make sure he does not get cornered. The fans start to scream but Atlas thinks it is to warn him about the Sheepherders but Roddy Piper has actually snuck into the ring from behind. He again has that white towel that he has been spraying with either over the past few weeks but tonight……….. The towel is loaded with something and WHAM…….. Right to the back of Atlas’s head and he is out. Piper reveals that inside the towel was a can of soda which he pops open and takes a big swig as he and the Sheepherders leave in laughter. They head right to the interview desk where they make a quick statement to Atlas and the Fabulous Ones that they better have eyes in the back of their heads or they might as well just quit now. As Gordon Solie leads us into break and as medics attend to Atlas, he announces, “Fair enough.” __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Rock Riddle, The Original Mr. Perfect and The USWA World Champion are at the interview desk where Riddle says he can’t believe that Jerry Jarrett is going through with the Title Match at Memphis Roundhouse Revival and couldn’t they have found a more worthy opponent then Jimmy Valiant. They go on to explain that they have the best interest of the USWA and the fans in mind and that they are about to teach Jerry Jarrett how to do his job. Lance asks them what they are talking about and they announce that not only are the fans about to see the Perfect Champ in action but that they have chosen an opponent who is much more worthy than Jimmy Valiant. MATCH: Austin Idol with Rock Riddle vs Bruce Dean (Title Match) Well just as you would expect, Riddle has hand-picked a complete jobber to show off Idol’s talent. After a few minutes of complete control, Idol is just toying with Dean. The crowd pops as The Boogie Woogie Man struts out and circles the ring. Idol is distracted and Dean Sneaks up behind for a roll up and got a 2 ½ count. Idol is in shock but that refocused him. Valiant goes over to the interview desk and starts jive talking about how Idol might not even make it to the Mid-South Coliseum and his better watch out for his main man, Bruce Dean. Idol locks in the Vegas Leglock and Dean submits. Valiant just waves at Idol as Solie leads us to break. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________________ Piper’s Pit with Special Guests: Mr. Saito and Killer Khan Roddy Piper makes his way out to the set and sits in one of the two chairs that are there. The Sheepherders follow Piper out and are standing behind him with their arms folded. Before he calls out Mr. Saito and Killer Khan, he just simply says, “I’m Back. Did you miss me? He then asks if anyone in the audience has any aspirin as he hear Tony Atlas has a headache. The fans really start to boo. As the Asian team comes out, they both bow to Hot Rod and Piper laughs and says ok and bows back. Piper first reviews the match from earlier tonight and says it was wonderful to watch how easily they handled those low life’s, Rich and Lawler and he can’t wait for them to be the new champs. Piper seems really interested in how Killer Khan spits that Asian Green Mist but seems to get no response from Khan. After a few times of asking him, Piper asks Mr. Saito is he speaks. Saito responds with one word, NO. Piper says that this is going well and then turns the interview to their upcoming tag match for the USWA World Titles against Jerry Lawler and Tommy Rich. Now this gets Saito going. “Mistah Lawler …. Mistah Rich … You are sooooo looky you are no hear right now. We will break you. You two are Sayonara! He starts rambling for about 30 seconds in what most believe is Japanese. When he finally starts, Piper responds by saying “that was exactly what I was thinking. Why don’t you tell these idiots at home what you said one more time but instead of your beautiful Japanese, try Redneck! Mr. Saito responds in English. “I am happy to hurt Toomy Rich and Jerry Lawler.” Piper expresses how confident he is that this two men will be champs and that Rich and Lawler will finally get what they deserve. He thanks the Shogunate for that time. He tries a couple of more times to get Khan to talk about the Mist but Khan just stares at him. Piper tells him you are “One scary dude!” The Shogunate walk off and Piper for once seems to be at a loss for words. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MATCH: Ernie Ladd and Thunderbolt Patterson vs Steve Travis and Rick McGraw Ladd and Patterson were ruthless in this match. While “Quick Draw” McGraw had a few moments of success and had the crowd really getting behind him, Ladd and Patterson proved to be just too big and experienced. The end came after Ernie Ladd followed up a huge chop to the head of Travis with a Big Boot and gained the pin. Patterson and Ladd headed to the interview desk where they quickly took control of the microphone and went on a long rant about the racism is this disgusting city. They followed that up by getting all over Hacksaw Reed and Sweet Brown Sugar and calling them sell outs and Uncle Tom’s and say they are going to destroy them at Memphis Roundhouse Revival. . They end the interview by raising their fists in the air as a symbol of black power. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: Crusher Ottman with Sir Oliver Humperdink vs Brett Wayne Ottman and Humperdink come to the ring in a really foul and once the bell sounds, they take their anger out on Brett Wayne. Ottman punishes Wayne for about 5 minutes until he just pulverizes Wayne with a Running Splash. In a rather strange turn of events, Ottman was about to hit another Running Splash when Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer hit the ring and prevented it. Ottman and Sawyer began to have words but cooler heads prevailed and the House of Humperdink remained intact. For the second time tonight, Humperdink heads to the interview desk but this time he is joined by the rest of his stable, Ottman, Sawyer and Hercules Hernandez. Lance Russell tries to get to the bottom of the “family problems” that everyone just witnessed between Ottman and Sawyer but Humperdink tells Pencil Nose to shut up. Humperdink continues and warns Bam Bam Bigelow that he is going to get hurt real bad in his steel cage match with Crusher Ottman. He goes on to say that Brett Wayne has yet to get up off the mat and that is exactly what is going to happen to Bigelow. Mad Dog Sawyer starts howling at the “moon” and Humperdink chains him up like a dog. Hernandez has a huge steel chain wrapped around his upper body and Humperdink starts laughing. “Do those commie morons really think that the members of my family will be intimidated by a Russian Chain Match? Look at them! They live in chains! They are going to beat you within an inch of your lives.” Gordon Solie finishes the interview with a simple, “Ah Huh.” __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MAIN EVENT MATCH THE FABULOUS ONES VS THE KANSAS JAYHAWKS with ROCK RIDDLE The heels enter the ring first to a chorus of boos but they don’t seem to care. With their bull ropes and tobacco juice rolling down their cheeks, Riddle’s “Perfect Team” seems right at home being the villains. The crowd really pops as ZZ Topps and Sharpe Dressed Man blares from the speakers. The entrance of the Fabulous Ones is one of the most entertaining in the industry. As Lance Russell lets us know this match will be TV Time Remaining Time Limit, The Kansas Jayhawks jump the bell and go right at the Fabulous Ones. This gives them control for a while until Keirn ducks under a huge right hand and monkey flips to his own corner and tags in Stan Lane. Single handed, Lane cleans house. He is on fire as the Jayhawks bail to the outside of the ring. Land and Keirn follow them out as Lance Russell lets the fans know that this is a wild match. All of a sudden, the Sheepherders rush to the ring and the brawl is on. It is 4-2 as The Jayhawks and Sheepherders take it to the Fabulous Ones. The Crowd goes wild as Pvt. Kernodle and CPL. Kirchner hit the scene. It is chaos in the studio. The Sheepherders and the Fabulous One are squared off in one corner of the studio while the Jayhawks and Ft. Bragg Brotherhood brawl it on the other side. As TV Time comes to an end, the brawl is still going. Lance Russell tells us that he “can’t believe the mayhem while Gordon Solie announces “We are out of time. So long from Atlanta, Georgia. Make sure to join us tomorrow night at 5:05 right here on WTBS. The credits roll and the screen fades to black.

Love the wording of the Flair segment. It really came off cocky just like he would have been in real life.

Stampede Wrestling Results for April
kevinmcfl replied to Perfectly Straightedge's topic in Promotions
I completely agree with the comments on the rookies but I think we are all somewhat guilty of this. We got very excited with the fresh face draft on 1984. There are also some very young wrestlers from the original draft who may be ahead of their real life accomplishments. I am also finding it difficult on how hard a push to give Bam Bam Bigelow who was only 23 at the time but I would understand a Hart, no matter the age, getting a huge push in Stampede. I think on the other end, we are also guilty of holding on a little too long. I mean I am still using Ernie Ladd in a big way and in real life he was almost completely done by now. -
WOW, THE CANJUNDOME SEES THE TURN OF WRESTLING II!
-
Loved the undercard here. Buddy Rose playing "dirty" is always fun. The Garvins and Exotic Adrian was interested. Loved how he went nuts after the pigtails were grabbed. Bring it on Gamma Sing! Nice ovation for Samu but you kept it real with the win for the Bull. Now those were some power moves by the Road Warriors. Would have loved seeing then hoist those big boys up. A belly to back on OMG! WOW
-
I agree with both you and Rain. Heenan,in the current Mid-South, may have trouble being completely himself but he was so good at just using his Family to bully the rest of the promotion and he has a great stable here in Mid-South. Love Ivan Koloff here and how he wants his "freedom." Koloff was so good at being hated he keeps making me think I need Russians in USWA but maybe he is so good because he is Ivan and I am just trying to copy him with any Canadian who can do a Russian accent. Anyway.... love Koloff, love the Family and I am very interested to see how this Mr. Wrestling II thing ends. TA is a force to be reckon with and I am interested to see if he can deal with Gino and Tully. Love what you are doing in Mid-South but still wondering if DiBiase and JYD make a big return.

USWA IS VERY EXCITED TO HEAR THAT MID-SOUTH IS STILL THINKING ABOUT JOINING! THE LINES OF COMMUNICATION ARE ALWAYS OPEN!

Love the show! I had Buddy Landell earlier in this game and found him very entertaining and you did a great job of introducing him WOOOO! Liked how you got the Schultz/Hart feud going hot right a way with the spoiled Hart angle a la Fritz down in WCCW. Nice, well written match between Brett Hart and Steven Regal. Jake the Snake maybe uncovering some Stu Hart abuse! Very interesting. Looking forward to the Supercard! -
4/9/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 11:05-12:05 TAPED IN DALLAS, TEXAS Dave Brown welcomes all the fans to TNT Wrestling from the World’s most Famous Wrestling Arena, the Sportatorium. He introduces his co-commentator and President of TNT Wrestling, Fritz VonErich. Fritz announces that right here in two weeks, there will be a 20 Man Battle Royal. He continues by explaining that there will be a twist and that the Battle Royal will end when there are 4 contestants remaining. Fritz will then announces that there will be a drawing to see which wrestlers will face each other. The two winners of these matches will meet on April 23rd at Memphis Roundhouse Revival and the winner will become the first ever TNT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! Dave Brown puts over that idea and then says it is time to get to the ring for tonight’s first match. MATCH: OX BAKER VS BRUCE DEAN A complete squash match where Baker just beats Dean all over the ring. The match ends when Baker uses his taped right hand to deliver a brutal Heart Punch. Ox Baker goes to the interview desk where for the second straight week he doesn’t wait for a question. He just grabs the mic and begins to say that Fritz should just hand him the TNT Title now before someone gets seriously hurt. Fritz says if Baker is one of the final four in the battle royal, he will have a chance to win the title but he is not going to just give it to him. Ox warns Fritz that he may kill someone with his Heart Punch AGAIN if Fritz doesn’t come to his senses. All of sudden Dave Brown says, oh my, look at this, it is Bugsy McGraw.” Bugsy comes out to the interview table and just starts spinning in circles. When he finally stops, he starts chanting “No social conformity, No social conformity, over and over again. Ox seems confused and announces the obvious. “This guy is off his rocker and he better be careful because I have had about enough of this.” McGraw finally stops and corrects Ox Baker by saying, “No it is us who has had enough of you. I like your style man. It is great not to bow down to the Man. It is right to be your own person.” He starts spinning around again chanting, No Social Conformity! Ox Baker can’t take this “clown” much longer and gets in his face. Bugsy stops spinning and gets a real serious face and stops and looks Baker right in the eyes. He continues, “It is ok to be different but what you are trying to do is hurt people. Next week, why don’t you pick on someone your own size.” Ox accepts the challenge and looks ready to kill Bugsy. Cooler heads prevail as they go their separate ways. As we go to our first commercial break, Fritz says that Bugsy is nuttier than a fruit cake but he is one tough lunatic. That is going to be some match next week. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH: KEN TIMBS VS STEVE TRAVIS In a pretty good back and forth match, Ken Timbs finally gets the victory after he followed up a nasty eye rake with a running bulldog. As soon as the ref made the three count, another wrestle runs into the ring and goes right after Timbs and starts throwing some haymakers. Fritz announces this new wrestle as Ricky Gibson, the brother of the famous Robert Gibson. After being hit with a few wild right hands, Timbs escapes and exits to the locker room. Ricky Gibson heads over to the interview desk and Dave Brown wants to know what that was all about. Gibson says two years ago, Ken Timbs attacked his brother in the parking lot in a match in Southwest Championship Wrestling. He continues to explain how this unprovoked attacked cost him and his brother a chance at the title. He goes on to say that he has been chasing Timbs every sense and it looks like he has found him. He warns Timbs not to let him get his hands if he values his health. Fritz says that it look like an unexpected feud is brewing here in USWA. ******** This was to be the angle for Timbs and Gibson but Boone released Timbs******* Sorry to leave this here but needed time to figure out a new angle and didn’t want the show to be late. COMMERCIAL BREAK At the interview desk with Brown and Fritz is Superstar Bill Dundee and the Perfect 10, Baby Doll. They are really fired up over the events of last week. Dundee thanks Baby Doll for clocking Rock Riddle and protecting him in his match against the USWA World Champ, Austin Idol. He then talks about how he can’t wait for his title shot against Idol later this month. Baby Doll then basically warns Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and Sensational Sherri Martel to stay out of their way. Fritz explains that this might not be possible as he has already signed a match between Gilbert and Dundee for next week’s show. Dundee and Baby Doll seem excited. Donna Summers “Hot Stuff” begins to blare as Eddie Gilbert and Sensational Sherri come to the interview desk where they warn the Perfect 10 and Dundee that they better be careful what they ask for and that they just sit back and watch the next match. MATCH: Eddie Gilbert with Sherri vs “Quick Draw” Rick McGraw This is Rick McGraw’s first appearance on TNT and he looks pretty good. He is 6’1 and packed full of muscles but this doesn’t intimidate Sherri. She goes right up to him and pushes him. He doesn’t really move much so she starts to berate him and then smacks him across the face. This seems to get McGraw’s attention and he begins to go after her when …… WHAM….. Eddie Gilbert nails him with a drop kick as the bell sounds. Sherri, knowing her work is done, leaves the ring and plays to the crowd. This was all the advantage Gilbert needed as the match came to an end after Gilbert hits the Hot Shot! (A flapjack dropped into a hangman) Gilbert sees no reason to stop the onslaught and continues the beating on McGraw. After a minute or two of the beating, Superstar Bill Dundee and Baby Doll hit the scene. Gilbert and Dundee square off while Sherri and Baby Doll just eye each other. A few officials rush from the back to break up the fight as the crowd seems more eager to see what will happen between the two women. They never really get it going but you can cut the tension with a knife. This one is really starting to heat up. When the smoke clears, the camera goes back to the interview desk where the Bruise Brothers (Porkchop Cash and The Dream Machine) have joined Dave and Fritz. They are basically putting out a warning to all tag teams in TNT that they are the team to beat. They don’t care if it’s Hansen and Brody. They don’t care if it’s the Sheepherders. They don’t care who it is. They are ready to take on all comers and they hope to do the fans proud. Dave Brown wishes them luck in their match against the Nightmares which is about to start. The Dream Machine says luck has nothing to do with it. It is a bit strange how the fans really like this team as they are really rough and abusive. MATCH: The Bruise Brothers vs The Nightmares Surprisingly, the match is a total squash match. It is strange to see the Nightmares go down so easily but they could not handle the power nor the viciousness of the Bruise Brothers. The end came when Porkchop Cash connected on a massive power slam of Nightmare #1. As they go to break, Fritz and Dave say how tough those two men are. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH: BRUISER BRODY AND STAN HANSEN VS STEVE SIMPSON AND WENDELL COOLEY Not to be outdone by the Bruise Bruisers, Hansen and Brody just beat Simpson and Cooley to hell. The end comes after Hansen hit a huge lariat on Cooley and Brody followed it up with a Running Knee Mauler. Brody and Hansen head to the interview desk where Hansen has tobacco juice running down his face and he is screaming about how the Bruise Brothers better watch their mouths and Brody says he can’t wait to kick them right in the teeth. Fritz discusses how this feud is going to really get ugly and the fans better hold onto their hats as this is going to be wild. COMMERCIAL BREAK The show comes from break with the USWA World Tag Team Champions, Wildfire Tommy Rich and Jerry the King Lawler at the interview desk. They are talking about how it is such a pleasure to be in the great state of Texas and how they can’t wait for their next trip down here so they can compete against the best TNT has to offer. The fans start screaming for a match against the Bruise Brothers but Jerry Lawler quickly explains that they are not able to fight this week as Tommy is still nursing an injured leg. Wildfire gets the fans all fired up as he says he can’t wait to get in the ring with the Bruise Brothers. He says both Jerry and he are good friends with The Dream Machine and Porkchop Cash and that they really deserve a title shot. This brings out Brody and Hansen who are screaming that they are the ones who deserve a title shot and that Lawler and Rich are just afraid and they are ducking them. This bothers Lawler and Rich who go right back at them but do to Rich being on crutches, can’t do much about it. Something Lawler says must have struck a nerve with Brody and Hansen as those two just go on the attack. Brody and Hansen are having their way with Lawler and the injured Rich. They are hitting them with anything they can find when all of a sudden the Bruise Brothers hit the scene and go right after Hansen and Brody. This fight rages on for a minute or two as Dave Brown warns the fans that “we are running out of time.” Finally Lawler has recovered and rejoined the fight. It is now three on two and Hansen and Brody are getting the worst of it. The scurry off to the back as Lawler, Cash and the Dream Machine help Rich to his feet. The 4 men gave each other a big handshake and the fans go wild as Rich takes the microphone and is all firrrrrrreeeeeeeddddddd up! The crowd goes wild! Dave Brown is heard saying “So long from the Sportatorium. Don’t forget to tune in next week for another great show.”

USWA WRESTLING: 4/8/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 5:05-6:05 TAPED IN MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Lance Russell along with Gordon Solie. We have a jam packed show tonight so let’s ring in our first guest.” Gordon Solie: “Lance, I have just been informed that we have a situation in the back and a cameraman is rushing to the scene. Let’s see what is going on. As the TV screen goes to the back, we see a total war going on between the House of Humperdink and The Iron Curtain. Lance Russell is heard saying, “What in the Sam Hill is going on back there. This is total mayhem.” Buzz Sawyer, Hercules Hernandez and Crusher Ottman seem to have surprised Korstia Korchenko, Alexis Smirnoff and Kris Markov as they were entering the studio. They are using anything they can to injure the Russians. Tables, Chairs and anything that is not nailed down is being used as a weapon. Smirnoff and Markov are down and this gives the Humperdink’s stable a chance to go after the man they really want, Korstia Korchenko. Humperdink is still furious over Korchenko performing so poorly when he was a member of his stable and they are trying to get even tonight. This triple teaming includes Sawyer connecting with a Frog Splash off the table onto Korchenko who is now rolling on the concrete floor. They follow this up by laying Korchenko across the table allowing Crusher Ottman and his 370 pounds to hit an Avalanche putting him through the table. Korchenko is hurt badly but it is now Hercules Hernandez turn. Humperdink is shouting at him to put Korchenko in the Backbreaker Rack which he complies. Not only is Korchenko being bent in half, Hernandez is slamming his head over and over again into the cement wall. Hernandez finally drops a bloodied Korchenko on top of his comrades and Humperdink is heard screaming, “Revenge is So Sweet!” Gordon Solie is heard calling for medical attention as we head to our first break. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Lance Russell informs the audience that order has been restored but that Korstia Korchenko has been sent to the hospital. The fans seem to be just fine with that information. Tommy Rich, who is still on crutches, comes to the interview desk with his partner and fellow USWA World Tag Team Champion, Jerry Lawler. They are all hyped up and start talking about the party Bam Bam Bigelow threw with Humperdink’s money last night down at Corky’s. Next, they go after the Shogunate and say they can’t wait to get their hands on them at Memphis Roundhouse Revival. They then turn their attention to the Perfect Stable and how Lawler wants to get his hands Idol and the Kansas Jayhawks for their attack on Jimmy Valiant. Gordon Solie says that they are going to the VTR of the match between Valiant and The Hangman, Bobby Jaggers. The audience watches a replay from last night where he and Rock Riddle basically hang Valiant over the top rope by a bull rope. As they come back, Jimmy Valiant has joined them at the interview desk with a neck brace on. He is ranting and raving as only the Boogie Woogie man could and his calling out Jaggers, Mantell, Idol and Rock Riddle. All of a sudden the Perfect Stable appears and is full of laughter and jokes asking if Lawler’s friends are patients in a hospital. Idol, Mantell, Jaggers, and Rock Riddle take turns making fun of Rich and his leg and Valiant in his neck brace. Rock Riddle laughs and takes out a stethoscope and gives it to Lawler as a gift. Lawler just throws it to the ground and is furious. He gets ready to shove Idol when Solie reminds them to keep order and that if any member of the Perfect Stable touches Valiant, Idol will be stripped of the USWA Heavyweight Title. Riddle says they know about Jarrett’s stupid rule but…… All of a sudden the Shogunate attack Lawler and his two injured allies. Again mayhem is under way and The Perfect Stable just stands by making sure not to get involved. Mr. Saito, Killer Khan and Tojo Yamamoto really lay it on the three fan favorites. Wrestlers pour out from the back and finally pull the Shogunate off Lawler, Rich and Valiant. Again, Solie seems relieved that peace has been restored and promises fans that when they get back from break, they will go right to the ring. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MATCH: Hacksaw Butch Reed vs Thunderbolt Patterson A great match that is back and forth. Patterson is able to fight off some of the power moves by Reed and keeps him off balance with his long arms. Patterson made this look like a boxing match and was doing great until Reed blocked a big right hand and scooped him up for a running power slam. He followed this up with a gorilla press slam and gained the pin. Ernie Ladd came out and Reed dared him to enter the ring but Ladd thought discretion was the better part of valor. Reed was joined by Sweet Brown Sugar and together they went to the ring. They asked Solie and Russell if they tuned into their sister promotion, TNT, last Tuesday Night on WTBS. Solie and Russell said of course. Reed continued to ask if he saw The Dream Machine and his new partner….. Porkchop Cash. Reed did a short summary of the reunion of the Bruise Brothers and how Cash apologized for ever following a low life like Ernie Ladd. Reed begins to wonder out loud……. So who is left of Ladd’s Army? Is it just Ladd and Patterson? Reed says that’s not an Army. That’s not even a gang. That’s not even a family. That’s just two ignorant fools who are going to get their butts kicked at Memphis Roundhouse Revival. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS MAIN EVENT: MR. USA TONY ATLAS VS ROWDY RODDY PIPER (Non-Title Match) Atlas is just back from the Paul Boesch Tag Tournament where he a his partner, Andre The Giant had an excellent showing. Tonight it is a wild match that started with the USWA National Champ, Tony Atlas making fun of Piper’s kilt. This infuriated Piper who rushed in to quickly and Atlas took control. Atlas spent the next few minutes crushing Piper with some big power moves including an agonizing Bearhug. To Piper’s credit, he refused to give up. An eye rake later and the momentum had changed. Piper now Irish Whipped Atlas into ref Jerry Calhoun and the two banged heads and both went down. The Sheepherders rushed out and began to spray a white towel with something from a spray can. It appears to be the same either that Piper used last night on Sweet Brown Sugar. As Luke Williams is holding the towel and Butch Miller is spraying…… WHAM! The Fabulous Ones rush out and from behind, double drop kick the Sheepherders. Both Williams and Miller fall forward and bang their heads on the steel ring post. Piper sees this and doesn’t know which way to run. Stan Lane grabs him while Steve Keirn sticks that white towel right into the face of Piper. Lance Russell announce that we are just about out of time as Lane goes to help Atlas to his feet and Keirn helps the ref regain his composure. Atlas sees Piper on the ground and doesn’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, so his covers the Hot Rod. Calhoun stumbles over and makes the 1, 2, and 3. The fans go wild as Atlas and the Fabulous Ones control the ring as the show comes to an end. Gordon Solie ends the show with “So long from Memphis.”

Very Very fun show! Loved the match descriptions and the results were not predictable which kept my interest. From a fans perspective I am upset that Flair regained the belt. I really would have liked to follow Steamboat around the NWA as champion but again, the match was well done.
-
First for the positives on Coastal Clash: Love how you had a title change to open the show. his would really get a crowd into it! I thought the variety of matches was fun. From a Tag Team Battle Royal to a Charlotte Stree tfight to a Lumberjack Match. Very Cool! Move of the night: BAM BAM Terry Gory with a football tackle on Andre! LOVE IT! A thought a backslide was a cool way to end the Steamboat/Flair battle. They were going at it for so long and couldn't get a victory and then a simple back slide and the title changes hands. Now for the Negatives: That this Super Card didn't happen in real life wrestling! I loved every minute of it. I wish the NWA had really allowed The Dragon a World Title Reign! COMPLETELY AWESOME JOB AND WELL WORTH THE WAIT.

With the trade of Baron Von Raschke to Stampede, I had an open roster spot and will pick up King Cobra. I had also picked up Ricky Gibson with the +1 draft. I just saw that he was not on my roster.

USWA WRESTLING: 4/7/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 6:05-8:05 TAPED IN MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Lance Russell along with Gordon Solie and Dave Brown. We have a jam packed show tonight so let’s get right to it Lance Russell and Gordon Solie welcome fans to the Saturday night show on WTBS and they both take turns congratulating Dave Brown on his new position as the host of TNT Wresting in Dallas, Texas which can be seen each and every Tuesday right here at 11:05. Gordon Solie gives an INJURY UPDATE on Tommy “Wildfire” Rich and his injured leg and announces he will once again be unable to wrestle for at least another week. As Lance begins to run down tonight’s card. Austin Idol, the World Champ and Rock Riddle comes out to the set. Solie asks “what do we owe this pleasure to. “ Riddle tells Solie to be quiet and his “Perfect” Champ” has something to say. Idol goes on to announce that he is sick and tired of all these gnats that call themselves wrestles coming for his title. He gives a double bicep pose and says he understands why everyone wants to be him. From the limo rides to all the pretty girls, his life is just a dream. He doesn’t care if it is Jimmy Valiant, Jerry Lawler or that little man down in Dallas, Superstar Dundee, he is going to beat them all. With that Jerry Lawler and Jimmy Valiant strut out to the desk and are all smiles. Idol and Riddle asks what in their pathetic lives do they have to smile about. Lawler reminds Riddle that he and Dundee are good friends and asks the “Original Mr. Perfect” how it felt to be knocked out by the “Perfect 10.” Riddle goes nuts at the reference to how Baby Doll laid him out in Texas last Tuesday. Riddle and Idol threaten to attack Lawler and Valiant right here but that seems to be just an “idol” threat. Jerry Jarrett has said if any member of the Perfect Stable lays a hand on Valiant before their match, Idol will be stripped of his title. Riddle tells Idol it is time to go and they walk off set and Lawler and Valiant make chicken noises. Gordon Solie says we will be right back with some in ring action. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Kris Markov and Korstia Korchenko are at the interview desk where both are speaking in with a Russian accent, announce that they can’t wait to meet Humperdink’s team of Sawyer and Hernandez in just a moment. Solie tells them to be careful what they wish for as Hernandez and Sawyer are double nasty. Markov says it doesn’t matter how big or good they are. They are Americans. All Americans are stupid and that he guarantees that they will beat Sawyer and Hernandez. MATCH: Buzz Sawyer and Hercules Hernandez with Sir Oliver Humperdink vs Korstia Korchenko and Chris Markov. This match gets the fans right into the show from the beginning. While The Iron Curtain has only been in the USWA for a short time, any team waving the flag of the Soviets and screaming about how pathetic the United States is gets a great reaction. In fact, the Russians are so disliked that the fans are actually cheering for the House of Humperdink. As for the match, Hernandez and Sawyer are liked caged animals and they are really having their way with the Russians. Hernandez appears on the verge of victory as he has Korchenko locked in the Backbreaker Rack when all of a sudden Alexis Smirnoff rushes out and attacks Humperdink. Hernandez drops Korchenko and goes to aid his manager. Hernandez is all over Smirnoff but loses focus as ref Paul Morton counts him out. The Iron Curtain wins the bout and are celebrating in the ring as Hernandez chases Smirnoff to the back. This gives the other two and opportunity to beat on Buzz Sawyer for a minute until Crusher Ottman rushes out to save Sawyer. The Iron Curtain beat a hasty retreat. Sir Oliver Humperdink, Buzz Sawyer and Crusher Ottman head to the interview desk where Humperdink asks Pencil Nose not to speak but to listen for once in his life. He goes on to say that he is sick and tired of The So Called Iron Curtain and that the USWA is not big enough for both teams. He announces that Jerry Jarrett must do something or else he promises that someone is going to get hurt very, very badly and that somebody is the commie Korstia Korchenko. Humperdink tells the rest of the stable to go and find Korchenko and his comrades now and prove his point. Ottman and Sawyer are practically foaming at the mouth as they head to the back. Lance Russell tells the fans that he hopes cooler heads will prevail and that they will be right back after this break. _________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: The Clawmasters (Von Raschke and The Spoiler) vs Brett Wayne and Ted Allen The match was back and forth for a few minutes but Brett Wayne got a little excited too quickly and went for a frog splash on The Spoiler too early. The Spoiler rolled out of the way and was able to get up for the tag and the Baron went to work on Wayne and ended it with a Brain Claw. The Clawmasters were a little upset that they had trouble with this team and continued the beating for a minute or two after the bell. After the match the Clawmasters went to the interview desk where they told the studio audience to look at the carnage they had left in the ring. They then turned the interview to PVT. Kernodle and Cpl. Kirchner and how they would be their next victims and that no lowly American Army Brats could ever handle their wrath of destruction. The Spoiler goes on to remind the fans that the last time he faced Kernodle and caught him in the Brain Claw that Kernodle nearly died. There was so much blood running down his face that they had to censor the match and that is exactly what will happen again. As Gordon Solie leads us into break, he tells the Clawmasters “Fair enough,” and seems to have had enough of their presence. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MATCH: Jimmy Valiant vs Bobby Jaggers with Rock Riddle This week, it will be Jaggers trying to hurt Valiant in an effort to aid Austin Idol, another member of the Perfect Stable. Idol is to face Valiant for the World Title on August 23rd at Roundhouse Revival. Jerry Jarrett said two weeks ago that if any member of the Perfect Stable laid a hand on Valiant at any time other than a sanctioned match, Idol would be stripped of his title. As far as the match goes, it is a wild one with many momentum turns. As Valiant seemed to gain control, Jaggers intentionally throws Valiant into ref Paul Morton. With Morton down, Jaggers goes absolutely nuts. He tosses Valiant to the floor and starts to beat him with a chair. Valiant is in serious trouble as Jaggers tosses him into the ring. He has no interest in getting a pin but in injuring the Boogie Woogie Man. Rock Riddle is yelling instructions as Jaggers goes to the corner and grabs his bull rope and straps it around the neck of Valiant. Lance Russell is heard saying OH NO, WE HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE! WE BETTER GET SOME HELP OUT HERE. Jaggers runs Valiant towards the ropes and tosses him over but hold on to the bull rope. Valiant is now being hanged over the top rope as Jaggers ties the rope to the turnbuckle. Gordon Solie is heard saying, “And it looks like… yes indeed, it is Jerry Lawler and Bam Bam Bigelow rushing to the ring. Jaggers runs off hoping the damage has been down. Lawler and Bigelow quickly untie Valiant and lay him down on the mat Lawler is yelling to get some medical attention down here and Solie says we better take a break __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS Lawler is at the interview desk with Bigelow and the still injured Tommy Rich. They are yelling their heads off about Idol and the Perfect Stable and that Jaggers better never let them get their hands on him. They continue to foam at the mouth and you can tell they really want a piece of the Perfect Stable. Lance Russell says he completely understands but now they must get to their next segment. Lawler, Rich and Bigelow head off. Piper’s Pit with Special Guests the Sheepherders Roddy Piper makes his way out to the set and sits in one of the two chairs that are there. The Sheepherders follow Piper out and instead of standing behind him with their arms folded, they take their place in the folding chairs. This entire segment is a lovefest between Piper and The Sheepherders. They belittle the USWA. They belittle American but most of all, they belittle The Fabulous Ones. The Sheepherders get so worked up at even the mention of their names that they begin to punch each other. Piper is saying that you must be nuts to want to get in the ring with the Sheepherders. They cause massive destruction wherever they go. Miller and Williams just continue to brawl with each other as the blood begins to flow but the strangest thing is occurring. THEY ARE SMILING! They seem to love the blood. They seem to love the pain! Piper goes on to explain that this is the differences between the Sheepherders and the Fabulous Ones. Lane and Keirn want to dance their way to the ring. They want to hug the fans. They want to wear their fancy costumes. Piper continues that they better want to take a vacation because after the match between The Sheepherders, who are now a bloody mess, the Fabulous Ones will be on a permanent vacation. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ MATCH: Mr. Saito and Killer Khan Vs Wendell Cooley and Steve Simpson Tojo accompanies his stable mates to the ring and does a good job of antagonizing the crowd. The match is pretty one sided and comes to the end after Killer Khan sprays the Asian Green Mist into the eyes of Cooley and follows it up with a Cobra Clutch that puts Cooley’s lights out. The Shogunate head to the interview desk where Tojo tells Mis-tah Toomy Rich to make sure he says hurt if he knows what is good for him. Tojo said he respected Toomy Rich 5 years ago when he would do anything to win. Now he is soft! Look at how easy Mistah Saito and Mistah Khan hurt you the last two weeks. Do yourself a favor and just hand us the World Tag Championship if you know what is good for you. He continues to tell Mis-tah Lawler the same thing while Saito just stands there, arms folded while Khan paces back and forth and makes some grunting sounds. Lance Russell seems really concerned for Lawler and Rich at Memphis Roundhouse Revival. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS Match: Hacksaw Reed, Tony Atlas and Sweet Brown Sugar vs Roddy Piper, Ernie Ladd and Thunderbolt Patterson This strange alliance between Piper, Ladd and Patterson was formed last week in piper’s Pit and now they are going right after their enemies in this wild 6 man tag match. The match is back and forth with a lot of wild 4 man and 6 man action. Rules were not really made for this match. Ref Jerry Calhoun is having a tough time keeping control. At one point, Mr. USA tossed Piper out of the ring and now Atlas, Sugar and Reed had the numbers advantage and they took advantage of it. Piper slowly regained his composure outside the ring and was caught on camera gathering a white towel and some sort of spray can from under the ring. He is seen spraying something into the can and then being careful not to be seen by the ref, sneaks up behind Atlas and puts the towel over his face. Atlas struggles for a few seconds and then his legs get wobble and down he goes. Calhoun is finally able to restore order and when he turns around, Piper has Atlas covered. Calhoun hits the mat and makes the 3 count. Reed and Sweet Brown Sugar seem confused and go to aid Atlas as the heels celebrate in the ring. Gordon Solie questions Piper what was in that can. Piper acts like he has no idea what Solie is talking about? Piper goes on to say that this is the exact result that will occur the next time he faces Piper. He promises that USWA National Championship will soon be around his waist. Reed and Sweet Brown Sugar rush the interview desk and get right into Piper’s face questioning what had he done to their friend. Piper again acts dumb and that they better watch their mouths if they know what is good for them. For once in the USWA, cooler heads prevail as Solie takes us to break. __________________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL BREAK WITH PROMO FOR UPCOMING SHOWS __________________________________________________________________________ Match: Crusher Ottman with Sir Oliver Humperdink vs Bam Bam Bigelow with Jerry Lawler Jerry Jarrett mandated this rematch after last week when Ottman beat Bigelow but after the 5 minute rule that Humperdink had previously set up for the Humperdink Challenge. Humperdink argues that this stipulation was not in the contract for last week and therefore he does not have to pay Bigelow the $5000. Jarrett has included that stipulation for this match so if Ottman doesn’t beat Bigelow in less than the 5 minutes or else pay the money. As the match gets going, it is a replica of last week. Both huge men have their moments and Bigelow’s speed gives him an advantage. At about the 4 minute mark, Humperdink is beginning to sweat. He tries to trip Bigelow but is unsuccessful. Lawler now comes after Humperdink. He actually scurries through the middle of the ring while trying to escape. While exiting the ring, he drops his walking stick which Bigelow scoops up. The fans are screaming at him to crush Ottman with it while ref Paul Morton is begging him not to. Bigelow actually snaps the stick in two as Lawler catches Humperdink and lets him have it with a huge right hand. WHAM! Right after Bigelow broke the walking stick, Ottman came up from behind with a huge running squash into the corner. Bigelow falls hard and Ottman covers him for the 1…2…3. Lawler rushes to the ring to prevent Ottman for injuring Bigelow. The fans are upset and Humperdink seems relieved. That is until Lance Russell announce the winner by pinfall at a time of 5:01, Crusher Ottman. The fans go wild as Humperdink is forced to hand over the money. He is yelling and screaming that this was all rigged and that he is going to get his lawyer and he is going to sue everyone in the USWA. He is arguing that his watch says 4:59 and not 5:01. Gordon Solie stands up for the USWA and as the credits start to roll, he is heard saying, ”Mr. Humperdink, we have heard about enough of that.” He continues, “We are out of time. So long from Memphis.” As the screen fades to black, the national audience is left watching Lawler and Bigelow holding huge fistfuls of cash.

Jerry Jarrett and Fritz Von Erich spoke by phone this week and both were very excited by the success of the first TNT show last week from the Sporatorium. To further their partnership and to save each promotion money, the two agreed to increase the relationship between the two. This was evident when Jarrett agreed to send VonErich, Alexis Smirnoff, Chris Markov, Pvt. Kernode, Cpl. Kirchner, The Spoiler and in a surprising move, Bam Bam Bigelow. The hope with Bigelow is that Fritz will give him a bit of a push and then he can return to the parent company down the road with a push to the top of the sport. Jarrett was also so impressed by VonErich's show that they agreed that the superstars of TNT will compete in USWA's monthly mega show and that Dallas, Texas will be the home to the JULY 4th Extravaganza at none other that the Cotton Bowl! Fritz also announced that he has signed another star that will really bring nightmares to the fans in around the Memphis area because they last time he was in the area, he caused pure HAVOC! USWA also announced that it has made an attempt to sure up its undercard by signing such wrestlers as Ricky Gibson, Ken Timbs and Rick McGraw. The wrestlers of mainstream USWA are still complaining about the amout of travel that is expected of them. Their has been talks between the wrestlers and the Board of Directors about this situation. One solution that has been discussed would keep about 12 wrestlers centered in Memphis loop and 12 centered in the Georgia loop. The problem here is that while Jarrett, in Memphis, is completely able to run a wrestling promotion, there is nobody Ted Turner feels comfortable with to run the Atlanta side. Ole Anderson's name has come up but he is locked into a contract in Big Time Wrestling in the Detroit area.

Stampede Wrestling Results for April
kevinmcfl replied to Perfectly Straightedge's topic in Promotions
Welcome to the game! Great first show. You seem to have all the major players involved right from the get go. Enjoyed your format as it was easy to follow. I thought your main event match was very well done and I could just feel the crowd at the edge of their seats. The non-clean win sets up a nice feud early in Stampede and I really liked how Jake Roberts called out Brett Hart and The Foreign Invaders are getting ready for war with the Bulldogs. So much to look forward to! -
Looking forward to Night of the Cage!
-
Nice! Two cards in one day. I liked how this show built off of All Star Wrestling and how the feuds continued. Your heel stables are fun to follow but with Hogan in the Main Event, the fans usually get to leave with their favorite still being the champ. As the other show, this one leads you right to the next one. Good work!
-
Very nice show. In real life, I was always surprised at the success of Playboy Buddy Rose. I looked at him and always thought he was going down and out of nowhere, he would get the victory. He was truly great and I think you captured him perfectly. Love the Crusher/OMG team. They could cause havoc. Road Warriors better be careful! Mr. Piledriver Bob Sweetan was awesome! I could just see him Sweetan chasing Master Gee around the ring and when he finally catches him, A beat down begins! Keep up the fun shows!

USWA adds Ricky Gibson in the April +1 Round

The USWA is looking for a few mid card baby faces. If any of the following are of interest to you send me a PM: The Spoiler, Baron Von Raschke, Chris Markov, Alexis Smirnoff, Korstia Korchenko.

4/2/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 11:05-12:05 TAPED IN DALLAS, TEXAS Dave Brown welcomes all the fans to the first ever TNT Wrestling show from the World’s most Famous Wrestling Arena, the Sportatorium. He says that tonight’s show will begin by bringing in the President of TNT Wrestling, none other than the great Fritz VonErich. Fritz walks to the interview desk and says it is a great pleasure to be back in Dallas, Texas, the home of the greatest wrestling fans in the World. Dave Brown says that it has been a tough couple of months for you Fritz. Fritz agrees and goes through how WCCW lost its TV contract and how his sons headed down to Florida and of course the death of David. He says he basically went into a shell and was in a dark place but he knew the only way out was to get back into wrestling. That’s when he came up with an idea to start a new wrestling promotion in the two best wrestling states in the country, Texas and Tennessee. He said it only took a minute or two to name his new promotion TNT. Fritz goes into how Jerry Jarrett came down to his home in Denton, Texas and offered him a chance to become a full member in the USWA. Fritz says that he knew the USWA was new but he liked everything about it and that he jumped on board. He says Jarrett basically gave him everything he could want including appearances by the World Champions and a weekly show right here on the great WTBS. Fritz goes into saying that in just a week’s time he has been able to build a great roster and the fans can just sit back and see some of the great stars from Texas and Tennessee along with some really exciting newcomers. All of a sudden the USWA World Heavyweight Champion, Austin Idol and his manager Rock Riddle come out to the interview desk. Fritz says it is a pleasure to have the champ here in the Sportatorium. Idol simple waves off Fritz and it seems he is disgusted by the whole thing. He begins by saying that only rednecks could call this dump the greatest wrestling arena in the world. He goes on to say that there are only make shift benches, no air conditioning and a tin roof like a barn or something. Rock Riddle, the original “Mr. Perfect,” goes on to say that this is no place for the Perfect Stable to be and if the USWA did not make him come down here, he wouldn’t be within a 100 miles of this dump. The fans are all over Idol but he just continues. He says that Jerry Jarrett sent him down here to put on a non-title match against anyone Fritz thinks is worthy, Idol says that he is used to wrestling the greatest in the world and if Fritz could hurry up and get Average Joe or Fat Matt out here so he can get on with his life. Fritz says that Idol will be surprised at the roster here and that he shouldn’t take his opponent lightly. Idol dismisses this idea and says that he guarantees that he will win in under 5 minutes or else on his next mandated trip here, he will put his title on the line. Fritz quickly says “deal” as Idol and Riddle head to the ring. All of a sudden, Superstar Bill Dundee and a very attractive amazon like blonde head to the ring. The crowd roars as Idol’s mouth drops. Idol is in disbelieve that his longtime rival is his opponent and Riddle is heard yelling that this was all a set up by Jerry Jarrett. MATCH: USWA WORLD CHAMP AUSTIN IDOL with ROCK RIDDLE VS SUPERSTAR BILL DUNDEE AND A TALL BLONDE WOMEN Idol never expected this but tried to jump Dundee before the bell sounded by Dundee was ready for him. The brawl was on and Dundee was in complete control. As the five minute mark neared which would give Dundee a title shot, Riddle tried to get involve by distracting the ref. The tall blonde quickly came behind Riddle and threw a huge right hand to the back of his head. Riddle went down as the crowd went wild. Dundee continued to throw Idol from pillar to post. Dundee tossed Idol over the top rope and was about to go out after him but Idol had different thoughts. He just ran with Riddle to the locker room and was counted out. Dundee and the tall blonde head over to Fritz and Dave Brown. Brown asks Dundee to introduce him to this stunning women with him. Dundee goes on to say that this Perfect 10 was Baby Doll and while Idol had Riddle to save his butt, he now has Baby Doll to make sure no one interferes in his matches anymore. He thanks Fritz for the opportunity to wrestle in TNT and says he can’t wait to get his hands on Idol again and become the World Champ. Dundee and Baby Doll, who dwarfs Dundee walk off arm in arm. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH: OX BAKER VS WENDELL COOLEY A complete squash match where Baker just beats Cooley all over the ring. The match ends when Baker uses his taped right hand to deliver a brutal Heart Punch. Ox Baker goes to the interview desk where he doesn’t wait for a question. He just grabs the mic and begins to say that Fritz doesn’t know what he has done be giving him a contract. He announces that his is the baddest wrestler in the business and that he enjoys hurting people. Winning is not the most important thing. Pain is the most important thing. He announces that when people come to see him wrestle they better be warned that he is trying to permanently injure his opponent. He says his heart punch is so brutal that his opponent is lucky if he lives. He announces that he is here to become the first ever TNT Champion and that the entire TNT roster better be careful. COMMERCIAL BREAK At the interview desk with Brown and Fritz is the masked Dream Machine. He gives a little background information on himself saying that he just got finished beating Ernie Ladd all over Memphis. All of a sudden, the speakers begin to blare that unmistakable music of the Blues Brothers. None other than Porkchop Cash, wearing a black suit and sunglasses, comes to the interview desk. The Dream Machine looks ready to fight and Cash tells him to “hold on brother. I am here to say I was wrong in Memphis. I was a fool to listen to that idiot Ernie Ladd.” Cash continues by asking Machine what he would think of getting the “Band back together.” Machine ponders for a moment and then gets so excited he hugs Porkchop Cash. The Dream Machine announces to the fans that they are in for a treat. “The Bruise Brothers are back together and we are now going to show these fans what they are all about. The beg Fritz to get them a match right now and he tells them to go to the ring and he will go to the back to see what he can do. Fritz returns and tells the fans to hold on to their hats. This is going to be a wild one! MATCH: The Bruise Brothers vs Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody This match is an all-out brawl with the fighting taking place as much on the outside of the ring as the inside. Eventually after about 5 minutes of total chaos and all 4 men being in the battle at the same time, the ref calls for the bell and rules this contest a double disqualification. This seems to have no impact on the 4 men involved. They just continue to brawl. The locker room empties and about 10 guys poor out but they still have trouble restoring order. Finally, the mayhem subsides as they cut to break. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH: MIL MASCARAS VS KEN TIMBS A pretty good match that both Dave Brown and Fritz VonErich really get excited by some of the aerial acrobatics of Mil Mascaras. Finally the “Man of a Thousand Masks” wins the match after a perfectly executed Suicide Dive from the top rope. The fans are going nuts as Mil is a true showman. Mil goes to the interview desk where he announces that he is the best trained, the best conditioned and that there is no opponent that can beat him. He wants to thank the fans for their support and hopes he can do them justice. He then speaks in Spanish where those that understand him give him a great round of applause. COMMERCIAL BREAK The music begins to blare as the audience is treated to Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff.” Eddie Gilbert makes his way to the ring and he is joined by none other than one of the best female wrestlers in the world as well as being one of the sexiest women in the world, Sensational Sherri Martel! They strut to the ring arm in arm and Sherri help’s Gilbert into the ring. She gets right in the face of Gilbert’s opponent, Steve Simpson. Simpson is an impressive young talent with muscles from head to toe but this does not seem to intimidate either Sherri or Gilbert. When the match gets under way, Simpson makes a good showing but in the end the team of Sherri and Gilbert prove to be just too much. Anytime Simpson got anything going, Martell would distract the ref anyway she could and that was pretty easy for her to do. Gilbert took these opportunities to break some rules and he finally weakened Simpson enough to nail him with a DDT for the victory. With time winding down, Hot Stuff and Sensational Sherri head to the interview desk where they basically announce that they are the hottest couple in all of wrestling. They tell everyone to forget what they saw earlier and that Dundee and Baby Doll are not in their league. Dundee and Baby Doll come on out and the two “couples” get in each other’s faces as the credits begin to roll. Dave Brown is heard saying “So long from the Sportatorium. Don’t forget to tune in next week for another great show.”

I think that since you had a trade already in place, you can pull the trigger when ever you wish.
