  1. Enjoyed catching up on the UWF. Very interested to see if Maeda's anger at the end of the Backlund match was real or just part of the show. I never know in the UWF. It could be one of Backlund's moves was too stiff. It could have been the way Backlund celebrated which then could be real anger or again part of the show. Or could have been Maeda should have won and something went wrong. Whatever it was, this was interesting.
  2. Ok... back to catching up.... I really enjoyed Title Night from Japan. I wish I was a kid watching these matches as it was a roller coaster of a night. First you would just be so excited to be there and then the downfalls come quickly as the heels get off to a big start. Between the Olympians and Adias, you would be down in the dumps. For me as a fan, it would have just gotten worse as Orndorff was so close to the title only to have the DCO and then to see the heel turn of Dundee on Bullet. I think the pairing of Idol, Dundee and Starr is awesome. While they might not be the biggest of guys for late 80's wrestling, they are magic on the mic and their ability to run an angle is awesome! Great booking in these last two matches as we get a new feud and Orndorff still remains strong. Can't wait to see how the International Title situation is solved. And then, while I was depressed you knew just how to raise the spirits of all the fans... Hogan over Kokina and Jumbo over Vader in Japan.... WOW... All leave so happy. HAMMOND CENTER 5/31 Wow... that promo with Kirchner from the Jungle was awesome. Can't wait to see who is coming to complete the Mission against Nikita. Wow again, Tony St. Clair to be knighted!! Welcome Sir. As I said above, Idol, Dundee and Starr sure know how to work an angle. OMG, the attack on Superstar Graham was priceless. I loved how Idol claimed Graham stole is gimmick. The fans are finally coming to my side as the give Sweet Dreams a few cheers. Not sure what it is about these two but as I watch more and more stuff from the early 80's, these two are quickly rising up my list. Jumbo and Hogan down the road... can't wait! HAMMOND CENTER 6/7 I think Big Jim in a feud vs The Vin Man is a great mid-card feud. Big Jim can play that fun loving hillbilly for only so long until his anger and power come out. Also, I know it was an 8-man tag team match, I think Big Jim and Kaz could be a great team for you. I like the slow play of the Armstrong angle. Looking forward to see how he plots his revenge and who will be in his corner. I expect Iceman when he is healthy but that might not be enough. Hansen is in the rise... watch out EVERYBODY. Wow... what a difference a location makes. The Mighty Yankee as a fan favorite plays well up North but imagine that in Georgia or Florida. Same as Karachi Vice. Enjoying this angle. Oh the ending of the show... I love what you have down with Larry Z! Larry vs David is going to do one of two things. It will either make David a big star or put Larry back in title contention. Looking forward to seeing what direction you go to. WOW.... Nikita vs Snake. Kirchner was right.... this man could finish the job. HAMMOND CENTER 6/14 I always struggle to figure out a way for a cooling off period with wrestlers. Sometimes, I don't want to trade them or exchange them because I am afraid of how they will be built in a different promotion. I think your tour of Mexico for El Canek was perfect. Love the way WrestleRock is shaping up. Speaking of WrestleRock... WOW... Superstar going into the ring. Love it! The only reason I know who that man is in the hood attacking El Canek is I've used that gimmick before in another game. Great research! Akbar.. Gagne and Black Blood. Awesome Sometimes we overplay the big brawls in our shows as they were probably our favorite part of wrestling when we were kids but I think we needed one with Orndorff and Cameron. More great booking. Snake is awesome on the mic. Good promo here. Would have loved to have seen the Guerreros and Fantastics. This match would be awesome. Looking forward to Jumbo and Hogan. Really unsure of the outcome. I would know the outcome if the match was in Japan or the WWF but here in the AWA? So very interesting. HAMMOND CENTER 6/21 I feel the same as Ken Nelson and his not-so-subtle eye roll about the return of Greg Gagne. I think you have made him into the most hated man in the game... Great job because in real life, Gagne was hard to work with. Excited to see the Guerreros and Fantastics one more time. Awesome... love fan favorite heel types. The loaded mask shot by Dream Machine over Rheingans was great. This really sets up the title match with the Olympians at WrestleRock Very creative with the Underground Wrestling Tournament for the Snake. Great ending with the security guards holding back Hogan and Jumbo! AWA is rolling!
  3. I really like the roster you have developed. You have something for everyone.... The out-of-control heels with Sullivan at the helm, the hated managers in Fuller and Jones, the big time fan favorites chasing the heels like JYD and Wahoo, the big time guys who can do it all like Budro and Yameda, the rising stars like Too Cold. Can't wait to see who goes over who in the NWA! Great job.
  4. So many great things here tonight. I love the mental block with Colon needing Sawyer back in the ring. Very creative. I never liked the Red Rooster idea but I think you can pull it off. Taylor and the "cock of the walk" arrogance reminds me I how much you got me to hate Greg Gagne. Looking forward to hating Taylor. Larry Z. bringing up Bruno... awesome. Looking forward to this one. Great use of your entire roster. AWA has some bog events coming up... Night of Champions in Japan and the WrestleRock. I can't wait to see all the chaos. Speaking of big events... Boot Camp match... Sgt. vs Nikita... on TV.... this would be talked about forever!!!
  5. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING EPISODE #34 MAY 25, 1989 PREVIEW SHOW Clash of Champions: Guts and Glory: Pensacola: June 14 “Mr. Magnificent” Kevin Kelly vs Sam Houston The arrogant Mr. Magnificent recently appeared in WCW and has done everything in his power to get under the skin of the fans. From his constant bragging about his nearly 300-pound muscular physique to his over-doing it against some of the weaker jobbers in WCW to his constant dirty tactics, especially some violent choke holds, Kelly has gotten the attention of some of the WCW babyfaces. Recently, Kendall Windham challenged him to a match after Kelly said there wasn’t any competition here in WCW. Kelly managed to choke Kendall with a hidden rope until Windham was almost unconscious. Then he locked in a sleeper and Windham was counted out. Kelly refused to “wake up” Kendall and the ref reversed the decision. Kelly then shoved Pee Wee Anderson into the corner and was about to choke the ref. This brought out Sam Houston, Windham’s tag team partner. Houston, from behind, gave it to Mr. Magnificent pretty good. After the brawl, Kevin Kelly went to the interview area where he was fuming about the Pearl Harbor job by Sam Houston and what he would do to Houston if he had the guts to meet him at Clash of Champions… So here we are! Jeff Jarrett with Miss Texas vs Al Perez with Missy Hyatt Interesting thing here is the return of Missy Hyatt. Hyatt, who had managed both John Tatum and Eddie Gilbert recently disappeared when her two men seemed to have jealousy issues over who Missy really loved. A few weeks ago, Missy returned with “The Latin Heartthrob” as said that she finally met a man that was worthy of being in Hyatt International with her. Missy continued to pick on Eddie Gilbert by saying that he was just a hick from Tennessee and that he was never in her class. The “hick from Tennessee” comment brought out Jeff Jarrett and Miss. Tennessee. We get a little war of words between the two before JJ made the mistake of turning his back on Al Perez who sucker-punched him from behind. Jarrett looks for a little revenge at Clash of Champions, but Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone reminded him to expect the unexpected from Missy Hyatt. Young Stallions vs Long Riders Paul Roma and Jim Powers recently joined forces in a tag team known as the Young Stallions. The Young Stallions have been both charismatic and good-looking and quickly won over the fans. During a promo, they vowed to fight the toughest of the toughest and that they would not be a steppingstone for any other tag team in WCW. Ron Bass and Black Bart took offense to these youngsters thinking the road to the top would be easy to get to and with a few tobacco-spitting promos full of daggumnabitts and bull-whip crackins, the Long Riders made it very clear that the Stallions would soon feel the whip. This match seems to be a test of a young team trying to climb the ladder and an older team trying not to fall off that ladder. Contract Match: Scott Norton vs Ahmed Johnson Via video tape, Mr. Wrestling II, with all the Power Plant wrestlers around him, informs us that Jerry Jarrett made a recent visit to the Power Plant and was really impressed at all the “trainees” working so hard to make it to the big leagues. Mr. Wrestling II says that Jarrett was so impressed that he decided to allow Mr. Wrestling II to pick his two best students to wrestle in a Contract Match at Clash of Champions where the winner would be placed on the main roster for the remainer of 1989. You could see all of the eager faces on all the Power Plant wrestlers as they wanted to be named one of the combatants in the big match. Mr. Wrestling II, slowly looked around at all the guys and then announced that the match would be between Scott “The Flash” Norton and big 300-pound Tony Norris. The other wrestlers pretended to be excited for Norton and Norris but you could tell they were disappointed. The camera did catch the Huffman brothers who looked both surprised and angry. Either way, this is a big match for Norton and Norris. Doom with Teddy Long vs Grapplers Since the injury to Tony Atlas, Hacksaw Butch Reed and Ron Simmons have been pretty much wrestling as a tag team. Teddy Long continues to guide this team towards their ultimate goal which is to make sure Colonel Debeers and the Anti-American Coalition doesn’t get in their way up the ranks. This should be a war as The Grapplers are one of the toughest and most physical teams in the industry. Hercules Hernandez vs Cuban Assassin Hercules Hernandez recently made his WCW debut and in a surprising twist, seems to have the adoration of all the fans. This is partly due to being placed in a few matches where the jobbers turned to some dirty tactics which he simply overcame with his power. He also seems a bit humbler than in the past and is just looking to wrestle some of the best competition in the world. Psycho Sid with Oliver Humperdink vs Steve Keirn Ever since the hocket mask came off, Psycho Sid has been on a wave of destruction that even surpasses his time as Lord Humongous. Steve Keirn recently returned to WCW and while he has had a great career, he better be careful that his career doesn’t come to a violent end at Clash of Champions. Dick Murdoch, The Patriot and Brad Armstrong vs The Anti-American Coalition (Mr. Saito, The Russian Assassin and The Iron Sheik) with Col. Debeers acting as a manager The AAC returned from their one week suspension due to their attack on Tony Atlas at WrestleWar and it didn’t take them long to pick up where they left off… that is getting major heat for their words and their actions. Col. Debeers defeated Tim Horner after a series of dastardly tactics followed by a reverse piledriver. He was joined by Mr. Saito, the Russian Assassin and the Iron Sheik at the interview desk were Debeers blamed Jerry Jarrett for the injuries sustained to Tony Atlas at WrestleWar. Colonel Debeers: Each and every one one of you, no matter how little intelligence you do have, can remember me telling you that Colonel Debeers should not be in the ring with the likes of Tony Atlas as people like that are just inferior to me. Now Jerry Jarrett makes this mandatory match where I need to wrestle this non-equal. What did you think was going to happen to him. He is lucky I didn’t injury him more. Tony Schiavone: Not sure it was you who caused the injuries. It was your goons standing here who attacked Tony before the match. Iron Sheik: Missta Tony Schiavone… please show respect. We all know the American wrestler is weak. There is nobody who can prove America is equal to any of us. Suddenly, with a chorus of cheers, the Patriot comes rushing out. Patriot: Now I’ve heard about all I can take. You people come to America and all you do is complain about it. If we Americans are so bad, then you will have no problem picking one of you to wrestle me NOW! The Patriot walks to the ring…. Debeers waves at the Russian Assassin to go take care of this. Referee Pee Wee Anderson rushes to the ring and calls for the bell! WHAM…. From the get-go, the Patriot is tossing the Russian Assassin from pillar to post. The fans are going wild as we see the Patriot quickly connect with the Full Slam and the ref goes for to make the count. WHAM… Debeers, Saito and the Iron Sheik attack the Patriot before the 3-count. With the numbers the way they are, there is nothing the Patriot can do…. The crowd erupts as the calvary is rushing to the ring… it’s Doom (Hacksaw Reed and Ron Simmons along with Brad Armstrong and Dick Murdoch. The AAC is quickly beaten from the ring and the babyfaces are daring them to get back in as Debeers calls his troops to retreat. Surprisingly, it was Dick Murdoch who had the most to say. Jim Ross was a little surprised that he came to the Patriots aid. Dick Murdoch: Jim… I might not always do what the fans like. I’m my own man and I do what I think is right. And what is right is standing up for the old U.S. of A. I’m not about to let this Col. Debeers come into my home and take bad about it. If he wants a fight, well you better believe Captain Redneck is ready and willing! Well, it is clear that this is one of the bug matches at Clash of Champions. While the fans should be excited with the trio trying to put down the AAC, they also know that Debeers always has something up his sleeve. This one is not to be missed. WCW World Television Title Match: Sting © vs Curt Henig with Gary Young Gary Young recently did an interview with Jim Ross where he admitted that he was obsessed with trying to take out Dr. Death and Ted Dibiase. He went on to explain that he lost sight of the ultimate prize which is winning titles. He said that his hired guns, Abdullah the Butcher and Tarzan Goto, where too one dimensional as they just wanted to destroy whatever was in their path instead of focusing on winning matches. He finished the interview by saying that he would not return to WCW until he found a complete wrestler who would take him to the promise land. Well, Gary Hart did exactly that as he added “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig to his stable. Hennig can do it all in the ring. If you want to wrestle, he will wrestle. If you want power moves, he’s got them all. If you want to turn to the dirty tactics, he is fine with that. Hennig has quickly moved up the ladder and has earned a World Television Title match at Clash of Champions. With Sting and Hennig in the ring, you can be sure this one is going to be an instant classic. Semi-Main Event Jerry “The King” Lawler & “Rowdy” Roddy Piper vs The Hart Foundation It turns out that the two men who attacked Jerry Lawler during his TV match with Allen Hunt were Owen Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart who are related to the legendary Stu Hart from up in the Calgary territory. Both stated that last year, Lawler came up to Canada and disrespected the Harts and acted like he was the gift to wrestling. Owen Hart: Lawler… you came up to Calgary and tried to mess with the family business. My father Stu Hart has produced some of the greatest wrestlers this sport has ever seen and you Waltz in there like you owned the place. You attacked my brother. You attacked my brother-in-law standing here with me now. You shot off your mouth like Calgary was your territory… and then when you knew you were in too deep… you ran… you ran just like the Queen you are. Jim Neidhart: (starting with an evil laugh): Lawler… the time has come! The time is now! It is here. It’s time Owen and myself teach you Lawler… the punk that you are… what real wrestling is all about. You think you are the “King” because you were important in Memphis. MEMPHIS? I mean the town where wrestlers go to die! In fact, it’s the place where wrestling has died! And who killed it? You, Jerry Lawler… You! Last week, we began the extinction of Jerry Lawler! Notice, he is not here today! The time has come for Jerry Lawler’s wrestling career to come to a crashing halt…. He messed with the wrong family. When you talk about wrestling Royalty, you talk about the Harts! NOT THE FAKE KING, JERRY LAWLER. While Owen and The Anvil might have a point with their comments, nobody in Southern Wrestling could give two hoots about Stu Hart and Calgary but to cement these two as heels, Roddy Piper struts out! Roddy Piper: Ah… If it isn’t two of our fine friends from the North eh! Now Jim Ross, I heard you call this man to your right Jim, “The Anvil” Neidhart.” Now Mr. Neidhart, you don’t mind if I call you Mr. Neidhart… Of course you don’t… you have the nickname The Anvil… and that must be because you so stupid that you head is as hard as a giant piece of medal! Jim Neidhart: Piper, you better watch yourself or you’ll be joining Lawler at the hospital! Roddy Piper: Oh Mr. Iron Head, I think you have me confused with someone else. Someone who is afraid! You see, I just dealt with two knuckleheads like yourselves… Maybe you heard of them…. Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Don Muraco. Ya see… those two are no longer hear because they threatened me. Trust me, I aint afraid of you two. Now let’s get back to what you two said about Jerry Lawler. You said he insulted the family business? Now I guess that means he peed all over your blocks of ice up there in Calgayry and melted it all into a big puddle. Owen Hart: What are you talking about Piper? Roddy Piper: Oh, I see we got ourselves another 3rd grade graduate. What I was trying to say is that the family business that Papa Stu must be in is trying to sell ice in the winter in Calgary because if you two are products from his wrestling business, that business went belly up a long time ago. Now consider this your warning, get out of WCW… get out of the USA and get back to your ice business before The Hot Rod and The King take you to the woodshed like Papa Stu should have done a long time ago. Piper simply drops the microphone and walks away as you can see the steam coming from the ears of the Harts! In the following weeks, Jerry Lawler ask Piper to be his partner against the Hart Foundation. Piper said it would be his honor to return the favor as it was Lawler who helped Piper deal with Don Muraco and Jake Roberts. This one is going to be a wild one and no matter what happens, it is probably only the first shot fired in what will be a huge war. Main Event The Horsemen (Lex Luger, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) with Women vs Kerry VonErich & Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin In an interesting pairing, The Texas Tornado teamed with the WCW World Television Champion, Sting to easily defeat two jobbers. During their post-match interview, both Sting and Kerry stated that they were both in hot pursuit of the top two WCW singles titles. Sting still has a major score to settle with Lex Luger who turned against him at WrestleWar. Kerry doesn’t care which of the two he faces but is looking forward to putting his skills up against the best. While this was going on, The Freebirds (Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin) came strutting out. Knowing of the past history between the Freebirds and the VonErichs, Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone both seemed on edge and asked for patience. Michael Hayes: Don’t work Tony… the Freebirds come in peace. Actually, Kerry… we want you and Sting to walk down Bad Street with Jimmy Jam and Purely Sexy Michael Hayes as we all want to rid WCW of the over-rated Horsemen. They walk around here like they are above us all. Well, there aint nobody better than the four of us! Jimmy Garvin: Put the four of us together and it won’t matter who is on the other side of the ring. From coast to coast baby Freebird Mania will be runnin rampant with honorary Freebird Sting and Freebird KVE in the house. Now let me tell you something else Jack! IT’S NOT MY FAULT THE HORSEMEN ARE HAVING PROBLEMS. Ric Flair is the most selfish person in the game today. Arn and Tully know they can’t count on the Nature Boy and Luger is just waiting to cash in his WCW title shot. I mean the Horsemen are done and its FREEBIRD TIME! Kerry and Sting look at each and then we get a loud scream from Sting as he now knows the Horsemen no longer have a numbers advantage and he’s got 3 of the best in the business to watch his back. Later in the show the Horsemen come out and give an interview where they could care less about Sting, VonErich and the Freebirds. Luger talks about how he just beat Sting and WrestleWar. The Horsemen make the claim that they are simply the best tag team in the world today and the Freebirds are just a bunch of big talkers. Ric Flair makes some serious digs at VonErich as he admits that David VonErich was the only real wrestle in the whole family and since he is dead, the Nature Boy we walk all over the rest of the family. With Sting already on the card, he is out of this big feud with the Horsemen but this main event is sure to get the fire going in this big feud for supremacy in the WCW.
  6. WCW adds Paul Bearer and releases Precious
  7. WCW drops John Tatum and Jim Mitchell
  8. WCW adds PCO
  9. Looking forward to Seattle. Awesome card
  10. Really enjoyed what you did with all the WCW guys coming in. Tony Atlas with the big piledriver helps Steve Austin win the title. The Triangle is my new favorite heel group! WWF Rockers vs PCW MNE... Very cool. PCW has no many huge names with great angles going on. Great job!
  11. Very interesting!
  12. You do such an awesome job of building up to your big events. Love all the hype of SNME. I know not to trust Terry Funk but I find this angle very interesting. If Funk getting in line or is there something else going on here. Can't wait to find out.
  13. Sorry for falling so far behind. I continue to enjoy your shows mostly because I learn so much each time. A couple of questions... first, I enjoy the idea of pinfalls being added but why would the announcement come in a baseball magazine? Also, I enjoyed the match with the accidental palm strike between Raus and Takada. I guess I am really unsure of how scripted the UWF really was. Was any of it real shoot wrestling or was it just more realistic looking then our USA wrestling.
  14. I think the AWA has done great things with its announce team and now you added Superstar! Love it. Between his Hippie Vibe, Brenda's good looks and bad attitude and Morrow's cool accent, and Killer Ken, you have me hooked with each promo. Also, I think you have made your shows so interesting with all the promos and video tapes-- the new and "muscular Sammartino, the Olympians on the beach... etc. Whenever I watch old time wrestling shows on youtube, I tend to fast-forward through the matches and focus on the announcers and the wrestler's promos. Great job with all your great extras! Between Sgt. and Koloff, Cameron and Orndorff and Jumbo and Vader, you have 3 huge main events for any show you want. Looking forward to seeing how these all playout. I do wonder if Dundee was honest that he is happy with the Bullet... always love these feuds with the stars of the early 80's fighting to stay on top. Hogan getting crushed by Kokina had that WWF feel in that everyone doubts Hogan can overcome the huge opponent placed in front of him and then some how Hogan survives. While we all had an idea of what would happen, it paid a whole lot of bills for Vince! I'm thinking you know a good formula when you see it... enjoy Hulkamania! Also love the Fantatics vs The High Chiefs. This is the type of feud that could go 3 months of wrestling each other every night all over the territory and it would never get old! Love my weekly dose of the AWA!
  15. I think Kevin VonErich is just the big name the babyfaces need in the NWA. Enjoy using him. Also think Sullivan and his craziness works perfectly in a Southern territory. Love all the new additions. The Junior Heavyweight title will be a great way to hype up your mid-card matches. I don't know much about Silver King but great angle for you. Good work. Bundy and his size make him a big time heel. So many options here! Enjoying the NWA and where it is going.
  16. Love the announcement by Bob Geigel. These threats by the boss are one thing I loved about old territory wrestling.
  17. WCW adds the Rock n Roll Express and the Dirty White Boys to the block
  18. Free agency is open
  19. Free agency is currently closed until supplemental draft is over
  20. Using a number generator, the draft order for the 1990's rookie draft has been determined. This draft will be held in early November and it is not a snake draft. The order remains the same throughout the draft. Any writer to join Dawn of War before the draft date will be added to the back of the draft. UWF is allowed to add any wrestlers who started in 1990 but wrestled in Europe, Asia, South America and Australia. These wrestlers can not be drafted by any of the United States or Canadian territories and not eligible to wrestle in one of these promotions until they debut in the U.S. or Canada in real life. 1990 Rookie Draft Order 1. PCW: 2. NWA: Traded to WWF 3. WCW: Traded to PCW 4. AWA: Trade with WWF 5. WWF
  21. EPISODE #34 MAY 1, 1989 WCW UPDATES FOLLOWING WRESTLEWAR: UPCOMING BIG EVENTS: Jeff Jarrett opened this week’s show by saying how excited he was for WCW to be moving towards summer and announced the next two big events for the territory. 1. Clash of Champions: Guts & Glory on June 14th at the Pensacola Bay Center. Interesting things here is that all military personal from nearby Englin Air Force Bay can get in for free. 2. The Great American Bash on July 23rd and 24th at the Omni in Atlanta. This two-night event is one of the biggest WCW events of the year! FALLOUT FROM WRESTLEWAR: 1. It seems the Horsemen are now complete. Lex Luger confirmed his disgusting heel turn on TV this week as he along with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Women came out gloating at how stupid Sting could be to fall for what happened at WrestleWar. Jim Ross reminded everyone that Luger came out and helped Ric Flair defend his World Title against Jerry “The King” Lawler when he nailed his with a shocking short-armed clothesline. Flair added that nobody can deny the dominance of the Horsemen as they now control every major title in WCW with Flair as the World Champion, Luger as the United States Title and Arn and Tully with the World Tag Titles. Jim Ross tried to upset the apple cart when he reminded Luger that be winning “the Crowning” at Wrestlewar, he earned a future world title shot and asked him if he knew when he would cash on? Women interrupted and told Jim Ross to stay out of Horseman business. Arn and Tully now took over the interview and had a grand old time letting everyone know that their “favorite” tag team, Ted Dibiase and Dr. Death couldn’t take the heat after they were destroyed at WrestleWar and have not been seen since. 2. Roddy Piper strutted out to a huge ovation as the Hot Rod told Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross never to question him again. Piper told everyone that he could beat Jake “The Snake” Roberts and “The Not-So Magnificent” Don Muraco all by himself. Piper continued to gloat about those two goons are gone from WCW for at least the next year! 3. Eddie Gilbert has fallen on some rough times recently. First, Missy Hyatt has seemed to have vanished from WCW as she was frustrated at his jealousy in terms of what he believed was an attempt by “Hollywood” John Tatum moving in on Missy. Then at WrestleWar , he lost a pretty one-sided match vs Sting for his WCW World Television Title. Gilbert declined a post-match interview and was not on TV this week. He seems to still be under contract with WCW but that seems to be up in the air. 4. “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas was severely injured by the pre-match attack by The Anti-American Coalition (Mr. Saito, The Russian Assassin and The Iron Sheik) before his match at WrestleWar with Colonel Debeers. Jerry Jarrett was very frustrated at the attack which he said was obviously orchestrated by Col. Debeers. In fact, he was so upset that he banned the entire AAC from television this week. 5. The WCW Women’s Division: The match at WrestleWar between Madusa Micelli & Terri Powers vs Wendy Richter & Magnificent Mimi was a hit with the fans. So much so that Jerry Jarrett has decided to add a WCW Women’s Title. He promises more information in the near future. THIS WEEK ON TV: 1. Moment of the Week: Jerry “The King” Lawler was attacked by two men during his match with Allen Hunt. These two men really roughed up the King pretty badly before leaving him laying in the center of the ring. Neither Tony Schiavone nor Jim Ross had any idea of who these two were. As the two attackers left the ring, they could be heard saying, “What comes around goes around Lawler!” Again, Schiavone and Ross had no idea who they were or what they were talking about. 2. It seems like Teddy Long has left the referee ranks and has joined the managerial ranks. This week, we saw Hacksaw Butch Reed and Ron Simmons win their tag match against The Long Riders (Black Bart & Ron Bass) as Reed connected with the Top Rope Shoulder Block on Bass. The interesting thing here was that the fan favorites (Reed and Simmons) came to the ring with Teddy long. After the match at the interview area, Reed, Simmons and Long said that they have joined forces in an effort to make sure that the Anti-American Coalition doesn’t attack any other black wrestlers like they did to Tony Atlas. Teddy Long said that he is now the manager of the tag team that is going to spell DOOM for the AAC. 3. The WCW United States Tag Team Champions, The Freebirds, seem to want an upgrade as they easily won their match today against James Bradley and Keith Steiborn. During their post-match promo, both Michael Hayes and Jim Garvin called out the WCW World Tag Champions, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard. The Freebirds said they already beat the Rock n Roll Express at Clash of Champions and have also beaten every other team in WCW so it was time they step up in competition and take on the World Champions. 4. Two new babyfaces made their debuts in winning fashion this week on TV. First, it was “The Texas Tornado” Kerry VonErich who defeated Verlon Biggs with The Discus Punch. Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross really hyped up VonErich and claimed that he could be a threat to Ric Flair and the WCW World Title. VonErich said he was in WCW to test his ability against the best in the business. A little later, the fans were treated to a win by The Patriot. This wrestler came out in American-flag styled tights and a stars and stripes mask. The fans were excited by his power and speed and also his American spirit as they have been so sick of the Anti-American Coalition. His win this week came with a devastating Full Nelson Slam.
  22. Awesome shows! -I really liked the Shaska Whatley turn. I think he is even better as a babyface then a heel. -Abbie and Sullivan are going to be fun. -Valiant as one of the top babyfaces is fun no matter what age he is. The war with Paul Jones is great Mid-Atlantic/NWA wrestling.
  23. Fun week of TV for the AWA. I m going to start at the end of the show where I was sure that one of the Bruisers would turn on the other. Glad they didn't. I think these just adds to these two as being real men. They went at it tooth and nail and both were able to shake after the match. Enjoyed this one a lot. Just love the Brenda-Morrow combo. While Brenda is all heel and Morrow might not be loved, he seems to play it down the middle for the most part. If I was watching, I would hate them while watching but about an hour later I would be praising Morrow for his actions. Well done. I am very interested to see who goes over in the Orndorff-Cameron feud. Both seem one big win away from moving pretty far up that ladder. Hulk-Kokina in Japan--- $$$$. Love the Guerreros vs Dundee and Armstrong. I really think that the Guerreros in real life were pretty underrated. Whenever I watched them as a kid I always were amazed at their skill. To me, you have turned Carlos Colon into the Tito Santana of the AWA. He just gets it done night after night. While he is not your top guy, you know you are going to get a great match from him night after night. Prior to getting into this hobby, I had never heard of Dream Machine. Now he is truly one of my favorites. Tonight was awesome with his "Sweet Dreams Baby" quote. Great week! Thanks for the fun read.
  24. I will use a number randomizer soon and get a draft list up. Hopefully this week.
  25. WCW will take back Doug Gilbert
