  3. Continental Championship Wrestling News When David Woods bought into the former Southeastern Territory it was renamed Continental Championship Wrestling and television started being taped at the Boutwell Auditorium instead of the WTVY Studios in Dothan. Ron Fuller did not agree with this but went along with it....after several weeks it's now been decided the company will go back to it's old format....They will tape television in the studio in Dothan, then run the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingam every Monday night, then other towns throughout the territory. Fuller has also announced that for now, CCW is pulling out of Knoxville and will allow Smoky Mountain to run that area while they focus on Alabama, North Mississippi, and Florida. Due to a dispute over how they were being booked the Guerreros have walked out of CCW causing some booking changes for this week's cards. Rumor has that Woman will be bringing in Fred Ottman under a mask as 'Giant Olympia' soon to obviously feud with Mr. Olympia (Jerry Stubbs). Tag Team Champions "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal and "Hollywood" John Tatum are said to be angry over some of their payoffs and may be looking to leave the territory soon which would shake up the "Platinum Club".
  4. SMW will be a great place for Lawler to hang his crown when he's not on the road...great job capturing the Southern "rasslin" feel.
  5. Good stuff, it will be fun to watch this develope.
  6. Great stuff as always...really hoping to see Gordy break out as major singles star over time and be a top contender to the UWF World title!
  7. I've always been a fan of Hercules Ayala, very underated in my opinion. Couple of great matches for Randy Rose with Flair and Magnum! Terry Funk is one of my favorites in the game right now.... Great looking cards coming up
  8. Great stuff, I love your version of the AWA so much better than what we got IRL. I love Orndorff as champ and I think the Varsity Club actually fits better here in the '85 AWA than it did on JCP in '88.
  9. Awesome job here my man...so much good stuff but my favorite is the Dynamic Duo winning the gold! Also, love the post match from Piper which justifies why Piper agree to take the fall...just a great show all around and I hope we keep this thing going cause I can't wait to see how much better your version of Wrestlemania 2 is!
  10. CCW has John Tatum, Steve Regal, Chief Jay Strongbow, Jules Strongbow, Mike Davis, Tommy Lane, and would consider trading all three Guerreros for the right offer on the block.
  11. Yeah, I believe you're right....Mil being too heavy for the division is going somewhere since he would never job clean "IRL" to drop the belt....it will play out soon.

  16. I don't know why but I was big fan of Kabuki when I was a kid so I would have loved this taped fist match with Zhukov. Funk vs. Baron sounds like a fun match as well, not to mention the Samoans taking on Dory/Ray Rougeau. I didn't get to follow much wrestling in this area back in '85 but I'm really digging this...some really great cards happening.
  17. It just feels right having Ellering with the Warriors! I'm excited to see the team of Boyd and Morgan here, I always enjoyed Boyd in Memphis and Continental when I was a kid. Michael Hayes in the mix certainly makes things even more interesting with the MVC. I'll get with you soon on some dates for the UWF champions.
  18. I love how you used Adrian to bring back the Mid Atlantic Championship, The Animal should make for a fun champion. Funk vs. Magnum is one of the best feuds in the game right now, enjoying watching it play out. I agree with Kevin, I think having the Foreign Legion come right in and take the titles is a great way to make an impact and get them massive heat. I don't why but the OMG/Flair match fascinates me because Gang isn't your typical Flair opponent, would have loved to have seen this live. Great Clash!
  19. Great start for SMW, looking forward to working with you.
  20. CCW Tour 1985 March 28, 1985 National Guard Armory Cullman, Alabama Bell Time- 7:30pm The Nightmares (#1/#2) w/Woman defeated Tracy Smothers/Shawn Micahaels when Nightmare #2 pinned Michaels after a flying headbutt from the top rope Mr. Olympia pinned Dick Slater with a school boy roll up First Blood Match Marty Jannetty beat Tom Prichard after running his head into the ringpost outside the ring splitting his head wide open Tag Team Challenge Match The Super Destroyers (#1/#2) w/Sir Oliver Humperdink defeated Chavo & Mando Guerrero when Super D #2 pinned Mando after headbutting him with a loaded mask and giving him a superplex Grudge Match Brad Armstrong w/Bob Armstrong pinned Jesse Anderson w/Ole Anderson after a Russian Legsweep, After the match Ole Anderson got on the mic and apologized to the Armstrongs and said clearly they are the "better men", both Andersons offered a handshake which the Armstrongs eventually accepted with apprehension….it seemed to be genuine as the Andersons went as far to raise the Armstrongs hands and hug them…however as they were leaving ringside together the Andersons ambushed the Armstrongs on the floor, allowing them to spike piledriver Bullet Bob on the concrete floor. Marty Jannetty, Tracy Smothers, and Shawn Michaels ran out to make the save but the damage was done Alabama Title Match The Honky Tonk Man w/Sir Oliver Humperdink Vs. Hector Guerrero HTM came out and did a lot of stalling demanding to see Guerrero's "papers", saying he was not a "legal" challenger for the Alabama championship. Eventually referee Ron West forced the match to start…..Hector came very close on several occasions to winning the title, before The Super Destroyers ran in and attacking him causing a DQ, Chavo and Mando hit the ring to even the odds and eventually Humperdink called for a retreat from ringside. Hector took the mic and told Humperdink, "This is not over fat man!" SEMI-MAIN EVENT CCW Tag Team Title Match Ron/Robert Fuller fought to a double countout w/ the Platinum Club (John Tatum/Steve Regal) w/Johnny V MAIN EVENT Southeastern Title Match "Bullet" Bob Armstrong Vs. Hercules Hernandez w/Sir Oliver Humperdink Hercules and Hump come to the ring, Humperdink takes the mic and says obviously after what the Andersons did to Bob Armstrong, he will NOT be able to defend the Southeastern Championship so he thinks Ron West should bring the belt on out here so they can take it by forfeit…..Ron West comes out but he doesn't have the belt with him, he says they will ring the belt and start the count and he will win by count out but NOT win the title…..As West gets to the 4 count..'Bad to the Bone' hits and 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong comes out with a neckbrace on and a bandage on his head…Brad Armstrong and Tracy Smothers are trying to stop him but he pushes them aside and gets in the ring….Hercules assaults him the moment he steps between the ropes and just brutalizes him for several minutes ripping off the neck brace….before locking him in the full nelson….Armstrong is bleeding and obviously in tremendous pain but refuses to submit….finally Brad Armstrong grabs a towel off the time keeper's table and throws it into the ring ending this assault…..Ron West calls for the bell and begrudgingly awards the Southeastern Title to Hercules Hernandez!
  21. Consider them yours.
  22. Don Bass should be available, I couldn't find him anywhere. Also Boon, would you be interested in Phil Hickerson and Dirty Rhodes?
  23. I love your presentation and the "letters" are very creative way to add more insight for the readers....great stuff all around!
  24. While I'm not a huge fan of Japanese wrestling from the era, I find your shows very enjoyable and the way you mix in the American stars draws my interest and keeps me tuning in to see what's next. Great work!
  25. Great stuff here especially the six man tag and the Rock & Roll vs. Gilbert and Rich would have had me glued to the tv!
