  1. Is this why they've only had him working house shows and no TV or PPVs for the past 3 months?
  2. They could have done a blow off to the whole Bullet Club melodrama instead of having everybody kiss and make up. That would be a big deal that I would pay money to see. They could have done an IWGP title defense or an IWGP tag title match against a big name challenger. That is something I'd pay to see. What it really feels like to me is a PWG All Star Weekend type uppercard with a ROH house show type lower card.
  3. That is a really disappointing card. There have probably been 15 shows in the past week with stronger cards than this.
  4. Jesus this weekend had a lot going on down in Mexico. Negro's 40th Anniversary show was amazing. Toxin vs Fly Star was amazing (I'll review that later). And then there was Crash on Friday and like 5 other indies on Saturday that put on banger shows I still have to watch.
  5. I assumed Rush's hair would be in line with Sombra's mask or Volador Jr's mask. I had heard they each got around 30k. What is the formula for determining how much a mask or hair is worth?
  6. The question is who can give Park more for his Mask? With what tickets are priced at the anniversary show I’d think AAA would be able to give more. It’s a bigger arena and tickets are priced higher. His mask probably goes for 200k +. Can CMLL afford that if they are bringing in a 700k gate for the anniversary show? How much is Rush’s hair? Probably 30k, maybe less? With those ticket prices would Rush be losing his hair instead?
  7. So Aro Lucha managed to raise over $500,000 in the first round of funding from 335 people. It has no distribution deal, no advertising sponsors, only one wrestler under contract, and no live dates scheduled. It sounds about as good of an investment idea as the guy on Mad Men who sunk all his inheritance into Jai alai.
  8. I don't find the WWE to be as completely immoral as you guys seem to think they are. I just think that like any major corporation or professional sports league they are completely and totally amoral. If changing attitudes about women in sports mean that there's potential for women to draw money in the US, then they promote women's wrestling as a main event attraction because it makes money. If an oppressive Middle Eastern monarchy offers them a lot of money for a series of shows, then they do the shows because it makes money. I'm totally fine with that. What I have a tough time with is how on a regular basis something happens in WWE or on WWE TV and it is incredibly counter productive to them making money.
  9. I don't think anybody would call it a failure, I wouldn't call it a success either though. The PC/NXT system has been around 5 years. In the first 5 years OVW started Lesnar, the Bashams, Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Dolf Ziggler, and Matt Morgan all from scratch. Batista, Jon Cena, Ron Waterman, Lance Cade, Rennee Dupree, CM Punk, Ken Doane, all started elsewhere but went through OVW in those first 5 years. Deep South was only around for 3 years or so. In those 3 years The Miz, Ryback, Kenny Omega, Heath Slater, MVP, all went through Deep South. FCW was only open 5 years. Over half the current roster either started in FCW or spent a considerable amount of time there. So when you look at track record, the Performance Center doesn't seem to have the same sort of success as any of the previous developmental territories.
  10. I saw Patrick Clark wrestle for Maryland Championship Wrestling, he was really fucking good before going to WWE. Big Cass was trained by Johnny Rodz and worked the New York indies for two years before going to WWE then spend time in FCW. Big E was an FCW guy, I'm pretty sure he was on main roster before the PC even opened. I wouldn't consider any of them PC products. Clark is the closest thing to a PC product of those mentioned because he wasn't in developmental prior to the reorganization of the developmental system and construction of the PC the way Cass and Enzo were.
  11. So at any time the performance center has between 60 and 75 former professional and D1 athletes training to be professional wrestlers. By my count 5 have started in the performance center (Strowman, Bliss, Gable, Akam, Razar) and made it to the main roster since it opened 5 years ago. There are others who started in FCW then moved on to the performance center like Baron Corbin who made it onto the main roster. That is a low batting percentage anyway you look at it. It is almost as if they are trying to run people off. At one point they had Shawne Marriman down there and he didn't make it onto TV for christ sake. It seems like every time they make an announcement of the new signees there is at least one of two guys whose athletic career I'm familiar with. And that announcement is the last time I ever see that person again. With the facility and the pool of athletes they have down there, I was sort of expecting more Akam and Razar types and fewer Steen and Generico types to be making the main roster. That hasn't been the case.
  12. What exactly is Meltzer's claim when talking about modern wrestling? I would readily agree that wrestling worldwide is better than it was 5 or 10 years ago. Good matches happen more frequently, there are more quality wrestling tv programs to chose from, there are more good wrestlers, etc, etc. But does he also believe/claim that wrestling is better than it was 30 years ago because that's a stretch.
  13. I'd be down
  14. Wow! watching this now somebody has to tell me how this boxer vs wrestler match happened with Strangler Louis and Max Baer involved too!! Wow
  15. Most of the guys you listed are FCW, DSW, or OVW guys. That’s the thing The performance center doesn’t seem to be having the same track record so far as either OVW or FCW was my point. Honestly I think this could start its own thread. They built the performance center with the goal of bringing in better quality of athletes and starting them from scratch. Yet the NXT / performance center model has proven less successful at doing this than its predecessors despite the significant investment and cost of the venture. There is no doubt that there are more elite athletes going into the developmental system now, yet fewer seem to be making it out to the main roster. The guys who do make it to the main roster now seem to be guys who weren’t necessarily elite athletes starting from scratch but guys with plenty of experience prior to being signed to WWE.
  16. That’s an impressive crop. It seems every six months or so they keep bringing in these stud blue chip D1 athletes into the performance center. It seems like Gable and Strowman are the only two that have made it through to the main roster however.

  18. An incel chat room?
  19. Dr Wagner Jr vs LA Park 11/15/12 aired 12/1/12 Sorry Meant to post this on Monday but I'm in the process of changing internet service providers. I've been on a LA Park binge the past month or so. This is the match Cap's profile pic comes from. So the match opens with Park setting fire to a Dr. Wagner t shirt and it just gets more off the rails from there. If you've seen their match from 2013 its every bit as crazy as that one although not as violent or as good. Park brings the unpredictable out of control brawling that only he can bring. There's mask ripping and chair shots. They brawl all around the ringside area bashing each other with foreign objects that you'd never expect to be used as weapons.
  20. I was just thinking, this year has been awesome in wrestling. There have been 4 or 5 matches so far that I'd have as a runaway MOTY pretty much any year in the past 15 years. The LA Park vs Rush feud, the Ciampa vs Gargano feud, everything in Omega's title chase and title win, Pentagon vs Caristico feud, Hideki Suzuki's title reign in BJW, etc. Its been an amazing year for wrestling so far.

    Lesnar back in UFC

So Lesnar showed up last night in the UFC and challenged Cormier. It looks like the fight is going to happen in November/December/January. Does WWE get the belt off of Lesnar at Summerslam? Leaving the belt on Lesnar as he heads into a fight where he's a 5 to 2 underdog (and those odds seem way too close) and will be subject to random drug tests for 4 months sounds like a horrible idea.
  22. That was the most violent women's match I've ever seen. I've always steered clear of women's match that have excessive amounts of blood. The level of violence and amount of blood was unnerving. The level of violence was truly unsettling in the way many BJW or CZW matches are. Things like Ozaki dragging Kansai around with the dog collar or Ozaki biting Kansai and spitting the blood way too much for me. With that said there is some great stuff in here. Ozaki's selling is great. I like the way Kansai cuts off Ozaki's offense in spots. There is a raw emotion that comes through where it feels like they are trying to kill each other and its very dramatic and unsettling at the same time. Not my cup of tea, but honestly if it were two men on a big show putting on a dramatic spectacle like this with this level violence, I wouldn't be quite so taken aback by the violence and chaos. Women carving each other up always unsettles me. Also wrestlers carving each other up in smaller venues always bothers me. So yeah not my sort of thing despite the drama of the match.
  23. Between the time I checked the board in the morning and when I checked it this evening you had insulted multiple people's political beliefs and questioned their sexuality. So either you were trolling for attention or you are a total asshole.
  24. No, 18 of your first 22 posts included insults towards people who have been here for years. That's what trolls do. Either you are trolling or you are just an enormous asshole.
  25. Absolutely. Part of me thinks 9 Corpses is Shodate or Stro returned with a new gimmick. And fucking with those trolls got old pretty quickly too.
