    Www tv, 1 - 7/1/18

If they had protected Kane at all in the past 10- 15 years or so then bringing him back for these sort big matches would mean something. Instead its a guy who has lost a lot of unimportant matches on TV in recent years being brought back and put in the main event of a PPV.
  2. yeah lets push that back
  3. Why is streaming a dead issue in Japan?

Here's my list (as much a favorite match list as a best of list) as it stands right now 1- Kazuchika Okada vs Katsuyori Shibata 2- Rush vs LA Park 3- Brock Lesnar vs AJ Styles 4- Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman vs Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns 5- Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny Omega 1 6- Low Ki vs Sami Callihan 7- Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny Omega 2 8- Twin Towers vs Strong BJ 1/2 9- Hiromu Takahashi vs Dragon Lee 2/11 10 - Dr Wagner Jr vs Psycho Clown Mask vs Mask
  5. yeah, i don't think Omega vs Jericho would lose money on PPV. I think if a company were to use a tv program and build to a legit blockbuster show on PPV every 8-12 weeks and charge $30 to $35, that's a sustainable model even now I think. I think PPV was hurt by over saturation. Before the WWE network came around, you had WWE running medicore shows on PPV every 3 weeks for 40 bucks and UFC running mediocre shows every 5 weeks for 50. Neither of those is sustainable. Now UFC is running mediocre shows once every 4 weeks on PPV for 60 bucks.
  6. Honestly, I think a hypothetical company could still charge 30 bucks for PPV, but they would need to put on a PPV card worth paying $30 for. There haven't been that many of those type of cards in recent years...
  7. Here's a few- Earthquake- For a big guy he moved well, was light on his feet and had a great presence Kane- ditto Big Show- ditto Matt Bourne- great run in Mid South, even dressed like a clown he was still scary and mischeivious and underhanded as fuck Art Barr- brought the personality to that tag team Bruiser Brody- seriously where does all the hate for him come from? do you guys really expect a 6'7" 300 pound guy who looks like an axe murder in the early 80s to fight from underneath like he's Terry Funk or sell like he's Steamboat or pinball around like Flair? No he was perfect at what he did. Shane Douglas- maybe my favorite heel of the 90s, like Bourne biggest exposure was with a corny gimmick in the wwf
  8. Roman Reigns... I'm watching his WM vs Taker... his right uppercut reminds me of Kabuki
  9. Wait your running your first show on PPV at 4 pm on Jan 1st in St Louis? So you are running your first flagship show on PPV against the Rose Bowl and the Orange Bowl?
  10. I need to go back and rewatch Taker vs Reigns.... by the time Taker vs Reigns happened I had watched 6 1/2 hours of wrestling (6 of which was bad wrestling) its hard to enjoy any match under those circumstances.
  11. I enjoy David Starr, but come on really? here are the guys I would nominate- Roman Reigns- case has already been made above. AJ Styles- Multiple great matches, was even fun when relegated to the US title, highlight of every show he's on Kazuchika Okada- An incredible title reign. Even if the Dome match wasn't your cup of tea (which I can understand), this was the year he put it all together. The defenses against MiSu, Shibata, Ibushi, and Cody were all awesome. Had a great G1 run as well. Each title defense was a completely different match with a different story. He's became such a great white meat babyface and I can't think of anybody currently with a better babyface comeback or who is better at fighting from underneath. Kento Miyahara- His Triple Crown matches have been incredible, he's responsible for keeping All Japan alive and interesting Tetsuya Naito- Possibly the most compelling title chase I've seen since Daniel Bryan 4 years ago. Solid matches, a great gimmick, he's slowly turned from a heel to the hottest baby face in the company over the last 18 months or so during the title chase. Kenny Omega- I enjoyed the matches with Okada. I know I might be in the minority around here with that opinion. I enjoyed his G1 run. and I find the current feud with Jericho to be the most fun feud I've seen in a decade.
  12. I think most of the stuff said on shoot interviews is bullshit....
  13. See you guys are acting like Meltzer is a bad person who condones violence against women. I dont think he's a bad person who condones violence against women, I just think he's socially awkward and can't put two sentences together or eloquently verbalize his own thoughts and feelings if his life depended on.
  14. Listening to the podcast on Elgin now because I wanted to know what people were talking about. Its just Meltzer going on and on in his trademark inarticulate manner about something he doesn't seem to know all the details about.
  15. Well.... 2013 had Cena vs Bryan, Shinsuke vs Saku, the Tanahashi vs Okada series, a great G1, The Rock's return (which I thought was a huge let down), a stacked Wrestlemania card with a good build (even if none of the matches were any good), and the Park vs Dr Wagner Jr series, the beginning of Los Indeseables's run.... 2017 seems more stacked
  16. I was thinking, this may has been one hell of a year in wrestling. When was the last time there was a year with this much good stuff in it? 97? 2003? 2004? You've got Okada's title reign which has been great. We've got CMLL friday nights being live streamed. We've got the Wagner vs Psycho Clown Mask Match which was all sorts of bonkers lucha drama. We've got Carolina Wrestling Federation's weekly TV which is awesome. We've got Lucha Underground which is fun for what it is. The NXT Takeover shows have all been a treat. Rush vs Park was fucking amazing. Matt Riddle. Low Ki's resurgence. The Jericho and Omega angle. Everything AJ Styles. Its been such a good year that its hard to be a jaded wrestling fan. Kento Miyahara's run on top. Hideki Suzuki's title run. The WWE UK Tournament.
  17. I hope to get the first two shows booked on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week... and sorry Gordi there will not be a behind the scenes tell all. Simply because no work of fiction could out do the Sports Illustrated article on the New Japan trip to North Korea.... and Lee, Han was A1 from day 1
  18. Foley vs HHH Funks vs Abby and Sheik Misawa vs Jumbo (and all of the little side feuds) Misawa vs Kawada (and all of the little side feuds) RVD vs Jerry Lynn Raven vs Sandman Raven vs Dreamer Burning vs Sterness M2k vs Crazy Max Kaientai Dx vs Michinoku Pro WAR vs FMW / Tenryu vs Onita WAR vs NJPW NJPW vs UWFi
  19. I would think a rematch of Jericho vs Omega from the Dome could get 6-8k in the right US city. I would think if you put enough big names on the undercard it could push it over 10k possibly.
  20. Its definitely possible in theory. Cody is good for what 500 people The bucks are good for about 500 Omega is good for about 2500 Somebody like Punk or Bryan is good for 4000 ish Id imagine Somebody like Mysterio or Jericho would be good for 2000 ish A big name from Japan is good for 2500 ish. A big name from the 70s like Lawler is good for a 500 to1000 still A big star like LA Park or Santo or Wagner from Mexico is good for 3000... Indie guys like riddle or low ki can get you like 200 So add that up and and you can fill 10000 seats... In theory

  22. It is the spring of 1989. The Cold War has signifigantly thawed. Two years earlier Billy Joel had done a series of mega concerts exposing the Soviet people to Western music. Inoki had already ran a small show with a skelton crew in the USSR. This show featured NJPW mid carders against members of the Red Bull Army which was composed of Soviet amateur wrestlers and judokas who had been trained in pro wrestling by Inoki himself. But Inoki realizes its time for something bigger- a mega tour, stadium shows in several cities, with major stars, and world titles on the line. Each show will feature a major title defended in the main event. Inoki will also fight a series of Mixed Styles fights against some pretty bad ass guys. The goal of this tour is to open up the USSR as a viable territory for wrestern style professional wrestling. Champions featured on the shows - NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair IWGP Heavyweight Champion Tatsumi Fujinami Triple Crown Champion Genichiro Tenryu IWGP Tag Champions Riki Choshu and Masa Saito Prominent General Badasses Inoki will face in a Mixed Styles fight- Kickboxing/ Karate World Champion Andy Hug Former Soviet Bronze Medalist Olympic Super Heavyweight Boxer Aleksandr Miroshnichenko Former Dutch Silver Medalist Judoka Willie Wilhelm, who a year earlier lost a mixed styles match to Meada Two Time Sambo Russian Champion Volk Han 3 time World Bronze Medalist in Greco Roman Wrestling Evgeny Artyukhin A Soviet IWGP Title will also be established on the tour. Each show will basically follow the same format Main Event- Title Match Semi Main- Mixed Styles Match Semi Main- Tag Match which sets up the next night's title match Mid Card match building setting up the next nights semi main event Mid Card Match featuring Russians trained by Inoki vs American wrestlers Mid Card Match featuring Russians trained by Inoki vs Japanese wrestlers Prelim Junior match Prelim Match featuring Russians trained by Inoki
  23. Sorry for being out of pocket over the holidays 5 picks? Aleksandr Miroshnichenko (top Soviet heavyweight boxer in the 80s, going for yet another mixed styles fight for Inoki) 1989 Momotaro (Super Delphin) 1992 Evgeny Artyukhin Sr. Habieli Victachev Wakha Eveleov
  24. Good luck with the back surgery btw
