  1. So didn't intend to hurt your feelings lol Just happened to completely slip my mind when I read the results.
  2. Holy crap, it just totally just dawned on me that Bruiser Brody dropped the title to Bam Bam. I was wondering why he was listed as Continental Champion the other day and I guess I probably missed that part. Still, pretty cool stuff with the missed flight thing!

    NXT talk

So, a couple of debuts this week in NXT live events & tapings. Axel Dieter Jr made his debut in a live event on Thursday against Roderick Strong using his real name Marcel Barthel And as expected following some reports, Bobby Fish debuted against Aleister Black in tonight's tapings. Looks like he's working as a heel.
  4. I think we all do. As you explained it, gordi, and after reading it, it now makes more sense to me why he booked Ric Flair in that match for all intents & purposes. It needed to be focused on the stakes in this main event.
  5. Not that this is my business but given that Mid-Atlantic has some shows once in a while in the Florida area & that Continental runs that area as well without any hitch, I don't see why you couldn't. Hell, I'm running 2 shows to promote the pre-Bash tour in Texas & Kansas next weekend and I haven't met any resistance.

  7. I'm actually really looking forward to Greg Gagne vs Jimmy Garvin on Independence Day! Should be a show stealer!
  8. Nice twist with adding Big John Studd to Tommy Rich & Eddie Gilbert's version of the Stud Stable. Gonna be really interesting going forward!
  9. No worries, man. Enjoy your vacation!
  10. Totally understand your point of view in this. You did what was best for UWF, first and foremost. Nothing wrong with that.
  11. Are we getting Macho King early? Would love it lol
  12. If anything, if I had to be a bit nitpicky, I'd say that maybe the order of the matches was a bit uneven. Like LowBlow, I think the USWA title match should've been way higher on the card or at least, you could've switched it with the the Iceman/Rogers match. I understand with the significance of the main event why you brought in Ric Flair but when you have the NWA World Champion on your card, arguably the biggest star in the Project, it might've warranted a title defense against anyone in your roster and then, switch him with perhaps another freelancer to team with Bam Bam Gordy & Jerry Lawler. As for the storytelling and the results themselves, I don't really have any issues with them. It served their purposes. But don't beat yourself in the head over this. It was a good card.
  13. Kinda surprised that Badd Company lost to the Moondogs but that's the beauty of this project! Anything can happen!
  14. June 22nd, 1985 Red Lake, ON Casket Match: Strong Machine 2 beat NWA World Tag Team Raymond Rougeau after interference from The Creatchman Family & Super Strong Machine. The casket was draped with the Quebec flag... -Chavo Guerrero beat Mad Dog Lefebvre (w/Frenchy Martin) Sensational Heavyweight Championship: Billy Robinson (w/Sherri Martel) beat Dory Funk Jr to retain NWA Canadian International Tag Team Championship: NWA Canadian International TV Champion Gino Brito & Rick Martel beat The Creatchman Family (Lord Humongous & Botswana Beast, w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) to retain
  15. NWA Lutte Internationale TV Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC Broadcasted June 22nd, 1985 Another hectic week that was for me so that's why I scheduled this to be a highlight show. This will be in recap form with a written segment added to it and I'll resume the regular format next week. Apologies again. -Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier welcomed the viewers to this special episode of NWA Lutte that is a prelude to the Pre-Bash event in Charlotte this Friday night. Throughout the broadcast, many of the participants on the card will be featured with past highlights. -The first highlight shown is from the night NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk defeated Magnum TA to capture the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship. Then, via pre-taped interview, Terry Funk says that the reason he issued an open challenge is because he fears no one in Lutte Internationale or Mid-Atlantic. He's even willing to extend that invitation to anyone from around the world and he will soundly defeat him. Funk vows to prove that he's the most dangerous man in the NWA in Charlotte. -The next piece of highlight comes from the Johnny Rougeau Memorial Cup Night 3 when Stan Hansen, Bruiser Brody & Andre the Giant teamed up to face the Strong Machines from Japan. This piece of footage is followed by footage of Dino Bravo's return last week in Toronto teaming up with Richard Charland & Mad Dog Lefebvre vs the same Strong Machines. After the footage, Dino Bravo is interviewed by Guy Hauray and explains his reasons for leaving & then returning. Bravo admits that he was selfish and he could only think about money & greed rather than being happy for the success of the territory. Bravo says that he's fully aware he needs to regain the trust of everyone in the territory, fans included, and that's what he's intending to do and this is why he requested to wrestle Stan Hansen in Charlotte. The Street Fight stipulation only fuels his fire. A pre-taped interview from Stan Hansen later sees him say that he's gonna whip Bravo's Italian salami-eating ass all over Charlotte and he's gonna embarrass him in front of an entire nation. -Next video is about the recent partnership with Smokey Mountain Wrestling with the recent appearances of The Great Gama Singh, Vulkhan & Mulkhan Singh as well as Tom Pritchard & Tim Horner among others. Lutte is excited to announce a joint event in July with Smokey Mountain Wrestling with future details still to come. -Up next, we take a look at the arrival of Eddy Creatchman's new acquisitions, The Botswana Beast & Lord Humongous. We first see footage of Creatchman dismissing Sheik Ali & Nord the Barbarian before showing the first appearances of the new Creatchman Family members. Because of their good showings recently, notably against current NWA Canadian International TV Champions Rick Martel & Gino Brito, The Creatchman Family has been granted an NWA World Tag Team Championship match against the Rougeau Brothers in Charlotte this Friday night. The Brain says that finally, his dream will come true as his unstoppable wrecking machines will rid Lutte Internationale of the Rougeau Brothers. In the meantime, the Rougeaus say that they welcome & embrace this challenge and vows to retain the titles in the same state they won it in at Starrcade '84. -Finally, we see footage from last week's main event when Gino Brito took on The Great Samu and after a Creatchman Family attack, the Midnight Rockers came to their aid. After footage of last week’s main event is shown, we see Édouard Carpentier standing between the Midnight Rockers and the NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champions, Gino Brito & Rick Martel) Édouard Carpentier: I’m currently standing by with the NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champions Gino Brito & Rick Martel as well the young men who came to Gino’s aid last week, The Midnight Rockers. Gino, I’m sure that you’re very grateful for their assistance against the Creatchman Family. Gino Brito: Definitely, Mr. Carpentier. You know, every tag team is rightfully gunning for our championships and it is part of the territory. But to see that there are young teams out there that are still willing to do things the right way to gain respect in this business, it’s definitely heartwarming. So, if I hadn’t said yet, I’ll say it right now; thanks to both of you. Marty Jannetty: We just did what was right. We couldn’t let this go on any further. If the roles had been reversed, I’m positive you would’ve done the same. Shawn Michaels: And you know, you just mentioned respect and that’s what it’s all about. We respect the hell outta you, guys. You’re the cream of the crop. You’ve done pretty much everything in this business. And when a veteran like The Spoiler took the time to show us respect and class, what else could we do in return? We don’t know when and where but eventually, we’re confident that we’ll face each other in the ring at some point, and perhaps even for those championships (pointing at Brito & Martel’s tag titles) Rick Martel: Well, gentlemen, it’s funny that you say that because that debt of gratitude will come in early. It just so happens that this Friday, June 28 in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Pre-Bash Tour, we still have open contracts for that night and we’ll be honoured to defend our titles against you two in Charlotte. Gino Brito: We’ve seen you in action, kids. Your potential is great. Some people around the world might think that you’re not ready but that’s not up to them to decide. Bring everything you’ve got in Charlotte and may the best team win. (Martel & Brito shake hands with the Midnight Rockers) Édouard: Well, gentlemen? Marty Jannetty: We couldn’t be happier right now. But be careful what you wish for. We’re in to shock the world, baby! Shawn Michaels: That’s right, Marty! I hope Charlotte will be ready to party because we sure will be. On June 28th, we will show the world what the Midnight Rockers are made of! Be ready to be amazed and then, to party all night long! (The Midnight Rockers leave the interview area but Édouard Carpentier remains there.) Édouard Carpentier: While this situation is settled, we still have one open contract to fill and it will involve the NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk. We still don’t know who will wrestle the Funkster but Bruno Sammartino & the NWA are working hard to find an opponent and we’re also told we will have a challenger on that night. 16. And so am I! That main event will be insane.
  17. I love that you've planned 2 possible matches in case the AWA World Title changes hands in Winnipeg. Really good booking.

  19. I'll be honest here: I wish that the British Bulldogs in the AWA would've happened for real. Your tag team division is straight fire, my friend.
  20. Great to see another promotion in the project and looking forward to see it. Although given that I also use a Lord Humongous (Jeff Van Kamp) on my roster, who is Jesse's Lord Humongous so we can avoid any confusion?
  21. Ah, nice touch with the USFL jersey!
  22. NWA Lutte Internationale releases Pistol Pez Whatley
  23. Man, those B-crew shows are so good.
  24. So far, so good! Gonna read this with a lot of interest as I was hoping back then for Bischoff to buy WCW.
  25. Ah yes, the mandatory title defense. That should be good!
