  2. That's also how I feel. It looks like they decided Heyman will be the headliner (in Philly, rightfully so) and they'll likely hold off on inducting Bray until next year. It's a sureshot that both Mike Rotunda & Barry Windham will have a few words about Bray on that very special night.

  4. In that case, why isn't Paul Turner suspended either? He was the referee assigned to this match. If he didn't properly relay to Sammy that Jeff was concussed, he should be held accountable as well.
  5. I noticed that spot too last night. But other than that, there isn't much you can complain about Nia's current run. She has improved on every level. She's taken this run seriously and it shows. Now you finally have a monster heel to properly use in the Women's division.
  6. It's fun to see unfold an hypothetical Bret Hart to WCW in 1992 scenario, considering we almost get to see it IRL. That and the Sting Squadron vs Dangerous Alliance is fun to follow!

  9. That was more of a Scott Hall-type sell of the Stunner than Rock.
  10. The Vachons are as much wrestling royalty here in Quebec as the Rougeaus are. Butcher was an important promoter in the early 70s running Lutte Grand Prix.
  11. Never forget that I hold shows both in Ontario and Quebec. So the crowd is gonna react differently to the Rougeaus in Ontario than they will in Quebec
  12. Maple Leaf Wrestling February 25th, 1989 (Unionville, ON) Match 1: Damien 666 vs. Mike Rotunda The match begins with Damien 666 and Mike Rotunda locking up in the center of the ring. Damien 666 gains the advantage with a headlock, but Rotunda pushes him off and hits a shoulder block. Damien 666 gets up quickly and charges at Rotunda, who ducks and catches him with a hip toss. Rotunda follows up with an elbow drop and goes for a cover, but Damien 666 kicks out at one. Rotunda tries to keep the pressure on Damien 666 with a series of punches and kicks, but Damien 666 fights back with some chops and forearms of his own. Damien 666 whips Rotunda into the ropes and hits a clothesline, then a leg drop. He covers Rotunda, but only gets a two count. Damien 666 picks up Rotunda and slams him to the mat, then climbs to the top rope. He signals for his finishing move, the 666 Splash, but Rotunda gets up and crotches him on the turnbuckle. Rotunda climbs up to join Damien 666 and attempts a superplex, but Damien 666 blocks it and headbutts Rotunda, sending him crashing to the mat. Damien 666 regains his balance and leaps off the top rope, hitting the 666 Splash on Rotunda. He hooks the leg and gets the three count, winning the match. Winner: Damien 666 Match 2: Rockin Robin vs Misty Blue Simmes Maple Leaf Wrestling Women’s Championship Match The match started with both women locking up in the center of the ring. Rockin Robin used her speed and agility to take down Misty Blue Simmes with a series of arm drags and dropkicks. She then went for a quick pin attempt, but Misty kicked out at two. Misty fought back with some hard chops and kicks, and then whipped Rockin Robin into the ropes. She tried to catch her with a clothesline, but Rockin ducked and hit a crossbody for another near fall. Rockin then climbed to the top rope and attempted a flying splash, but Misty rolled out of the way and Rockin crashed to the mat. Misty seized the opportunity and applied a Boston crab on Rockin, putting pressure on her lower back. Rockin screamed in pain and tried to reach the ropes, but Misty pulled her back to the center of the ring. Rockin refused to give up and managed to flip over and kick Misty off her. Both women got to their feet and exchanged punches and slaps. Rockin gained the upper hand and hit a DDT on Misty, stunning her. She then grabbed her guitar and smashed it over Misty's head, knocking her out. The referee called for the bell and disqualified Rockin for using a foreign object, but Rockin didn't care. She celebrated with her guitar and the crowd cheered for her. Winner: Misty Blue Simmes by disqualification (Rockin Robin still Women’s Champion) Match 3: Tom Zenk vs. Rick Steiner The action continues with a hard-hitting contest between Tom Zenk and Rick Steiner These two competitors leave it all in the ring, throwing punches and executing high-risk maneuvers. After a back-and-forth battle, Tom Zenk connects with a devastating spinning heel kick to pick up the win. Winner: Tom Zenk Match 4: Chris Walker vs. Pierre-Carl Ouellet Next up, rising star Chris Walker takes on the highly skilled Pierre-Carl Ouellet. The match is fast-paced and showcases the athleticism of both competitors. Ouellet shows his technical prowess, but Walker's high-flying maneuvers steal the show. With a jaw-dropping Shooting Star Press, Chris Walker secures the victory. Winner: Chris Walker Match 5: Jim Neidhart & Bob Bradley vs. Matt Borne & Steve Lombardi The match started with Neidhart and Lombardi locking up in the center of the ring. Neidhart overpowered Lombardi and threw him into the corner, where he tagged in Bradley. Bradley continued the assault on Lombardi, hitting him with a series of punches and kicks. Bradley then whipped Lombardi into the ropes and caught him with a back body drop. Bradley went for the cover, but Lombardi kicked out at two. Bradley tagged Neidhart back in, and they double-teamed Lombardi with a double clothesline. Neidhart then applied a bear hug on Lombardi, squeezing the air out of him. Lombardi tried to fight back, but Neidhart tightened his grip. Lombardi was fading fast, but he managed to rake Neidhart's eyes and escape the hold. Lombardi crawled to his corner and tagged in Borne. Borne came in with a burst of energy, hitting Neidhart with a flying forearm and a dropkick. Borne then ran to the ropes and attempted a crossbody, but Neidhart caught him in mid-air and slammed him down. Neidhart then tagged in Bradley, who climbed to the top rope and delivered a flying elbow drop to Borne. Bradley hooked the leg, but Borne kicked out at two. Bradley picked up Borne and tried to suplex him, but Borne blocked it and reversed it into a small package. Bradley barely kicked out at two, and both men got up quickly. Borne hit Bradley with a right hand and a headbutt, stunning him. Borne then tagged in Lombardi, who came in and hit Bradley with a knee lift and a neckbreaker. Lombardi covered Bradley, but Neidhart broke up the pin. Neidhart and Lombardi started to brawl, while Borne and Bradley also exchanged blows. The referee tried to restore order, but he lost control of the match. All four men were in the ring, fighting each other. The crowd was cheering loudly, as the action was fast and furious. The match ended when Neidhart and Bradley gained the upper hand, and threw Borne and Lombardi out of the ring. Neidhart and Bradley then followed them outside, and continued to attack them. The referee counted to ten, and declared the match a double count-out.However, Neidhart and Bradley were not satisfied, and dragged Borne and Lombardi back into the ring. Neidhart and Bradley then hit their finishers on Borne and Lombardi, and posed for the fans, who gave them a big ovation. Result: Jim Neidhart & Bob Bradley and Borne & Steve Lombardi fought to a double count-out in 8:34. Main Event: Mr. Saito & Tarzan Goto vs. Richard Charland & Jacques Rougeau The match started with Charland and Goto locking up in the center of the ring. Charland tried to overpower Goto with his size and strength, but Goto countered with his speed and agility. He hit Charland with a series of kicks and chops, then tagged in Mr. Saito. Saito continued the assault on Charland, hitting him with a suplex and a knee drop. He then applied a sleeper hold, trying to wear down Charland. Rougeau saw his partner in trouble and entered the ring to break the hold. He attacked Saito with a clubbing blow to the back of the head, then threw him to the corner. He followed up with a splash, crushing Saito against the turnbuckles. He then dragged Saito to his corner and tagged in Charland. The two Canadians double-teamed Saito, hitting him with a double clothesline and a double elbow drop. They then took turns stomping and punching Saito, keeping him isolated from his partner. Goto tried to intervene, but the referee stopped him and ordered him back to his corner. This allowed Charland and Rougeau to continue their illegal tactics, choking and biting Saito behind the referee's back. They also used the ropes and the ring apron as weapons, slamming Saito's head and body against them. The crowd cheered as they watched Saito suffer. Saito was in a bad shape, but he refused to give up. He showed his fighting spirit by kicking out of every pin attempt and resisting every submission hold. He also managed to land some punches and kicks of his own, stunning his opponents. He finally saw an opening when Charland missed a leg drop and hit the mat hard. Saito crawled towards his corner, reaching for Goto's hand. Rougeau tried to stop him, but Saito kicked him away. He then made the tag to Goto, who entered the ring with a burst of energy. He knocked down Rougeau with a dropkick, then turned his attention to Charland. He hit him with a flying forearm, then a DDT. He then climbed to the top rope and delivered a diving headbutt, covering Charland for the pin. One, two, three! The bell rang and the referee raised Goto's hand in victory. Saito joined him in the ring, and the two Japanese wrestlers celebrated their win. The crowd booed them, but they didn't care. They had proven themselves to be the better team, and they had earned the respect of their opponents. Winners: Mr. Saito & Tarzan Goto

  17. Ah yes, a Tongan who's the same family as a SAMOAN.
  18. It's cool to see possibly the 2 biggest "What ifs" that ever existed for World Class come to fruition here. Who knows how longer World Class could've survived if they could've fully capitalized on both David & Gino's potential.
  19. Doesn't get much more scary than Vader and Bam Bam as a tag team!
  20. I used to like you.
  21. Not really other that to my remembrance, there was no major promotion really established there. Could've been an interesting starting spot for them
  22. I lost brain cells just reading this.
  23. I'm almost impressed at how little time it took Anthem to destroy the rebuild of TNA that Scott D'Amore orchestrated. All that's missing now is Dixie Carter running things again.
  24. Barry Windham vs Bret Hart is a dream match if there ever was one.
