Never said it's great, but I really don't wanna see her get saddled with Charlotte or Ronda ever again. I very much rather see her do something different, get a title celebration than deal with two absolutely pieces of work like them. Rousey, specially, has given ZERO fucks on this second run, and Charlotte is... Charlotte. Not a situation I wanna see Banks in, really. It's absolutely not ideal - to say the least - for someone of her caliber, you are right on that. I want her to deliver bangers like her match against Bianca at last year's Mania every single time.

What's more annoying is that her UFC story is basically the PERFECT hero to villain tale. She was, and still is, an important figure in Women's MMA, had an Olympic bronze medal, inspired many, many people, and had the media backing her. Fucking Joe Rogan crying during a post-fight interview and people still care about what the fuck he has to say about serious issues. Then, she slowly started showing her more arrogant side, not shaking people's hands, being overconfident about her striking skills, which never really were her forte, a consequence of media overinflating her as a total package. Loses to more humble opponent, never really stops being an asshole. Then, during her return to the octagon, the champion and ACTUAL GOAT OF WOMEN'S MMA was an afterthought. We all saw how that turned out. You really couldn't write a better story than that.

A possible example of professional actors working a live crowd and keeping the kayfabe alive: after Chris Rock made a crass joke, Will Smith slapped him in the fucking face. Some are wondering if the whole thing was a work or a shoot!

People are excited for *some* things, specially Roman/Brock. But holy shit, when one of your best built matches is SAMI ZAYN VS JOHNNY KNOXVILLE, something went super wrong. Nothing against those two guys, and personally I love Sami, but a celebrity guest match should never be better built than basically everything except for your main event. They could have perfectly fine US Title match, yet decided to put Balor and Priest on the ARMBAR. No idea if Ricochet is even doing something there, too. Bianca vs Becky is nice, decently built, but Rousey/Charlotte has zero heat. Both are huge marks for themselves and neither are likeable. This is nearly heel/heel AND a rehash of their feud

Straight-shooting technician BPJ wrestling with that dirty mullet woud be quite the visual. Bubbas @MoS and @El-P indeed comparing anyone to Ten Guy is a good way to drive me away from a wrestler, but I do enjoy #10. It's weird that he's doing the whole "ten" thing with his hands while the crowd chants "ten" at Ten Guy during beatdown segments, but alas. Fuck Shawn Spears.

Black doesn't need the belt now, sure. However, the biggest he's been was during the Cody feud, and that whole thing was, as usual with the Codyverse, completely apart from the rest of the roster. Feuding with Varsity Blondes, an incomplete Death Triangle (Death Angle? Hehe) and now possibly with the Dark Order dorks, not very inspiring stuff, he just feels like a guy. They very well could have given him something bigger to do while having Page as champ, as I really don't think they were mutually exclusive. On the other hand of the argument, Daniel Bryan got title shots and absolutely will be AEW Champ down the line. Black surely could have gotten something.

Not high standards, this is mostly a continuation of my previous complaint of HoB (specially Malakai Black) doing nothing of substance. Black is on a hamster wheel ever since he got to AEW while Cole basically got to the title picture instantly. While there is talk about a trios title, I wonder if such a thing is even necessary at all. HoB, by all intents and purposes should have got a more engaging feud by now - I guess there was a lot of bad luck and timing involved with the Death Triangle feud, given Fenix's injury, but still. The way you have a group with three guys who look great, have great presence, and a main event level player in Black yet nothing is happening kinda infuriates me. It is honestly my biggest complaint about AEW booking, more than Sammy being a face or anything.

Having an incredible character performer like Alexa helps so much, too. If we rank occult characters in wrestling, she is certainly at the top. But is Julia joining the HoB the goal here? Are they having a one and done match to solidify the turn or another 4 weeks of matches? I get suspense being a good thing but there ain't no scenario I am envisioning that doesn't turn the Varsity Blondes into mega goobers.

I just don't get why they didn't have Julia Hart make the turn already. Them varsity dudes got their asses battered from corner to corner by them satanists, the feud is over, and she is still in the process of a change of Hart? A bit less straightforward than expected.
