  1. In my defence I said 99.9%
  2. If it's ever from Ringside News, there's a 99.9% chance it's BS
  3. I don't watch WWE regularly anymore, but the Rumble is always the exception, I can't remember the last unentertaining rumble match, 2015 maybe?
  4. NOAH's fascination with trying to keep Muto as strong as possible is baffling.
  5. What do you guys think of Naito's chances of getting in? He has a rep as a great worker - though not to the level of Okada - and he's probably the most popular wrestler from Japan since the 90s. Either him or Tanahashi at least.
  6. NXT 3.0 to counter-program Dynamite.
  7. One of my favourite wrestlers ever has fought his demons and come back to raise some hell. 10/10 episode as far as I'm concerned.

    MS-1

Damn, so I've already seen everything of his from 1983. Shame that's all that's there, they're both tremendous matches.

    MS-1

    I need MS-1 recommendations, especially from 1983

    Kazuchika Okada

Okada understandably took it slow after the Naito match, but still showed up in big matches (Shingo matches, Ishii at the G1, Ospreay at WK 15) and was still also putting good, (if underwhelming by his standards) stuff. Since the 2nd Cobb match in 2021, he looked like he was in much better shape and moving a lot better. He had a good G1 run, giving Tama and Chase their best ever matches and putting on one of New Japan's best matches of the year with Tanahashi, and his performances at WK this year were stellar.

    Daniel Bryan

Bryan's AEW run feels like a culmination of everything he has done so far. The Page 60-minute draw would probably not be as good if he didn't have all that experience of having long matches in ROH and knowing what works and what doesn't. His heel work since he originally became no.1 contender feels like an extension of his heel work against Kofi. The Omega match was hugely built around Bryan's 'suicidal babyface' style from 2012-2015. And the difference in almost every match he's had speaks to just how well-travelled he was during his indie run. Number 5 for me as of now, but for sure a number 1 contender (though in all likelihood I don't think he'll reach it). Also, Miz is basically a blank state as a wrestler, in that he always wrestles to the level of his opponents performance.
  12. Where do people stand on Nakajima nowadays? His heel turn in 2018 has done wonders for him.
  13. He also thought that the injury was originally a work right? When it comes to Japan I take his news with a grain of salt.
  14. He has not been drawing well in the UK iirc.
  15. Mayu Iwatani and it isn't close.
  16. The last 4 matches ranged from decent to great with the main event being the MOTN, and the Stardom tag was also really good. Hopefully KENTA's ok, that fall of the ladder and injury looked gnarly. Tanahashi himself took some insane punishment in that match and that ladder HFF might end up being iconic. As for what the future holds...
  17. Considering how quick the rule change occurred, I would guess it was kayfabe. Also yeah, 12k really is a strong number, same as last year IIRC which had Naito vs Ibushi as the main and Okada vs Ospreay as the semi-main.
  18. Okada vs Shingo was excellent as expected. Shibata vs ?, DT vs Goto/YOSHI-Hashi, and Despy vs Hiromu were all really good too. EVIL vs Ishii was the drizzling shits and the rest of the card was just fine. Decent show overall I'd say. Also, I have not seen any of Ospreay since he had to vacate the title, and my God that promo was just awful.

    WWE DAY ONE

Yeah but have em do the Brock spot where they get taken out by a table and get stretchered out

    WWE DAY ONE

Hopefully Rollins and Owens get taken out the match early and we just get Big E, Lashley, and Brock doing big boi things
  21. Momo Watanabe She's been among the best wrestlers in the world for the last 4 years. Offensively strong (those kicks!) and has a good amount of versatility. Generally consistent, but excels in big match situations, leading to Stardom trusting her in several important matches (Mayu Anniversary match in 2020, Utami's first title defence, GP final against Syuri). Already has an excellent big title run under her belt with the Wonder of Stardom title, and given how young she is, the sky is the absolute limit for her. Syuri

2021 had an insanely high volume of great stuff to watch, and stiff competition for best wrestler of the year. Even still, Syuri stood out amongst the pack. She's versatile, has great offence, and her big match performances go without saying, having bonafide classics against Momo and Utami. One I am certainly looking forward to checking out more of.
  23. Okada was the best by the end of the year, but from January to December it's either Omega or AJ and it's razor-thin between 'em.
  24. Okada this year is one of the three best in-ring years I've ever seen so gotta be him.
  25. Extremely close between Okada and Omega, but I'd go Okada because I really didn't like any of Omega's matches against Cody (including that triple threat).
