They're doing their best, god bless 'em

You respect his lifestyle choices but have lost respect for the person, because he's not an ego-driven mark for himself? Is that an accurate read? Your use of the word "upstart" is interesting, too - "a person who has risen suddenly in rank or importance, especially one who behaves arrogantly."

They had the final match in Melbourne, Australia, because "we knew we were no longer going to be able to do (it) in Los Angeles and Australia, which had always been on the back burner, jumped to the forefront". That they couldn't find anywhere closer than a 15-hour flight away always seemed odd to me. Must've found a good Aussie "money mark".

Nothing beats a standing shooting star press when you're taking a penalty

I was thinking a thread titled "MJF is not a draw" would show us that MJF is not a draw. I don't need pie charts or anything hi-tech like that, just something backing up the assertion. Felt like a letter to PWI.

Jarrett's mancave is full of rigged carnival games. There's air-rifles with shonky sights, basketball hoops too small for the ball... none of this pinballs and playstations shit

Saraya makes me appreciate Britt's tan. Respectfully.

Mis-timed This Is Awesome chants suck. Wait for a double-down, not the middle of a sequence (happened in the cage match too).

PAC rules in a "Super-Flippy Benoit" sort of way.

World Cup should feature Genki Haraguchi of Union Berlin and Dragon Gate fame, or the retired Shinsuke Nakamura (ex-Celtic, NJPW, WWE). -
The test, for me, isn’t whether Triple H’s booking is better, nor his hiring and firing practices - can he build new stars? Or will he continue relying on used condoms like Johnny Knoxville and long-retired ghosts of successful eras past to prop up his shows?

I guess what shits me is: who on earth needs Johnny fn Knoxville in 2022? Who on earth needs Steve Austin in 2022/23 and probably beyond? Who on earth needs Logan ohgodno Paul (such a great wrestler, they were so busy teaching him moonsaults and buckshots (i.e FLIPZ!!) that they didn't bother with Rule #1, "Don't Hurt Yourself") in 2022 and beyond? WWE. If you need a burnt matchstick like Knoxville to sell your company's biggest event, if you need to roll out an old man who hasn't wrestled in two decades (!!!), if a YouTube shitcunt (reformed or not) is presented as a bigger star and a contender...what does that say about the company and its full-time workers? There's people that we want to see pushed, and not on Main Event. We want to see workers pushed on the Grandest Stage of All, and that can't happen while they're giving pushes to self-serving blow-ins and part-timers. An argument as old as 'Mania itself, I know. -

If it's all about Austin being protected by his opponent, and only turning up once a year, he can keep doing Mania matches - and winning - until he's 90, no? If "no", then you have an arbitrary line, like me, of "ok, this is just stupid now". Austin has well and truly crossed my line. Austin c1998-2002 may have been the greatest wrestler ever. Austin in 2023 is not the greatest wrestler ever, just his shadow. All the chatter I see is about who can hold his hand and help him cross the street without getting hurt. Austin's not even a nostalgia trip anymore - he wrestled just last year! -

AUSTIN????? Obviously people didn't get their fix of "sexagenarian nonsensically defeating a current WWE Superstar". Cos if he was going to lay down, he would've done it for poor, now-worthless KO (the best use that people are hoping for him is "Sami's sidekick", not "dethroning Reigns"). Sigh. Feed him Theory. We all know up-and-comer Steve Austin needs the W as he build towards nothing. -

"Wrestling boot manufacturer" seems to be a dying craft. There's a six-man tag on at the moment. No-one is wearing appropriate footwear. -
Well, she'd be a 5'1", 138lb Boy Called Mildred. Far be it for me to demand intellectual rigor, but this is Facebook-level shit. If Roman Reigns had wheels he'd be a bicycle... If your case for Becky relies on your arbitrary percentages, your arbitrary attendance cut-offs, your arbitrary allowances, your arbitrary numbers all round - by which Becky just so happens to come out smelling great - and trying to diminish Burke et al, maybe you don't have much of a case.

Random AEW wrestler, bouncing gleefully into his home. Wife: How was your evening, dear? AEW wrestler: Awesome! Colt Cabana wrestled! Grey skies are gonna clear up!

There's a sanctimony I hear from too many wrestlling fans, "Wrestling fans are the worst!", with "Except me!" being very much implied. I've certainly not seen "Including me!", ever. You're part of pro-wrestling's audience. Does pro-wrestling deserve you, brother El-P?
