  1. I’m still not *quite* there with what you’re saying, but I do appreciate the feedback. In the 80’s, Arnold and Sly were equivalents to The Rock box office wise. You could get a solid action movie from them but certainly nothing Oscar worthy. With training, I believe both Arnold and Sly could have wrestled a match, ala Mr. T. Should THEY have been possible WWF board members in the 80’s based on their popularity and ability to sell various types of merchandise? I would consider them more “special attractions”. I consider The Rock a “special attraction” as well. I am just not getting where his Q Rating translates to a board seat. Maybe he has connections that could lead to different sponsorships? Are his merchandise sales *THAT* impressive to warrant a seat? I also understand his family lineage in relation to the company he is now a part of. That would make sense to me. I guess it’s a combination of all of this in some way? This still disconnects to me, in some respects……
  2. This is like Sting trying to get his hands on Hollywood Hogan at Starcade and at the last minute he steps aside for Ricky Steamboat……
  3. Question: Why is The Rock NEEDED on the board? What is he bringing to the table? I know that Dwayne has a good brand (Outside of this weekend) but is that worth screwing up Mania? If he really wants to wrestle, I think next year would have been better, although not guaranteed. Cody wins at Mania, Rock gets involved to help Cody, big rematch at SummerSlam, and then from there build Rock and Roman to head to Mania 41. Rock getting the Mania main event the way he did and then the event being held in PHILADELPHIA is just asking for it. At this point, the reaction to all of the drama far outweighs the actual slated main event. And then if The Rock wants to WIN……… Oh boy!
  4. If I am Cody, I don’t go back on TV until The Rock goes out in front of the fans and explains why all this happened the way it did. HE should have to take the heat, not Cody. Cody shouldn’t have to try to explain this nonsense. They are going to Lex Luger Cody…….
  5. Had Vince not sold the company, I wonder if people would have filed these lawsuits? It seems like although Vince got the cash, he inadvertently put himself in a position to finally be held accountable for his past behavior.
  6. I thought the promo was definitely his “greatest hits” but I give WWE a pass on this. They probably figured people were going to tune in anyway so no need to do anything special. Punk showing up was special enough in the moment. The NEXT Punk showing needs to have some meat on the bones. If you really want to milk it then have Seth go in on Punk next week and ask the questions that we, as fans, want answered. Punk isn’t there but towards the end of RAW we get word that he will show up next week to address what Seth said. Hell, Seth can be so riled up that after his initial promo on Punk he can threaten him and the WWE brass can ban him from being in the ring with Punk for 30 days (For Punk’s wellbeing, of course, and to protect their investment). They can pretty much talk about each other without being in the ring with one another so that when they DO get in the ring face to face it’s a big deal.
  7. I just listened to that Collision speech but I didn’t hear that line. With his paint by the numbers promo last night I am sure that he said it at some point.
  8. The “I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to make money!” line could also be perceived as a shot a Tony Khan, if one wanted to read into it that way. Tony Khan has money but it always comes across like he REALLY wants the wrestlers to be his friends first when they are actually his employees.
  9. That genuinely made me laugh out loud!
  10. What’s to figure out with Rock vs. Roman? The Rock doesn’t expect to WIN, does he? I could see a defiant Rock ultimately getting beaten/destroyed by Roman ala Stone Cold vs. Bret but refusing to acknowledge Roman the way he wants him to. The Rock would have to be somewhat delusional to think that he should win that match.
  11. I don’t mind Copeland coming to AEW but I DO hate wrestler debuts (With music and sometimes pyro) during a heel beatdown. Same with the lights on/off. …..and the people debuting never seem to be in a hurry to help the person getting attacked. I believe Jeff Hardy was dancing when his brother was getting beaten up, if I have that right.
  12. Good for her! A much better fit for what she can do and how she can be portrayed. I would not be surprised to see her leave WWE for Hollywood at some point because I think she has that much potential!

  17. I never saw the victory lap but here it is if you missed it.
  18. I agree with everything you said except the Bucks part. IMO a HUGE reason that this got as far as it did is because Tony refuses to do anything to The Bucks. I wholeheartedly agree that Punk never should have responded the way he did at all in any of those situations. I also believe that Punk expressed HIS workplace concerns to Tony and felt nothing was being done about it. Again, I don’t condone anything that Punk said/did about those things but Tony is/was being too much of a fanboy. He did the right thing with Punk and Perry but he should strip the Bucks of their EVP titles and suspend them for a week for that lap stunt. It could easily be seen as trolling and ALL of this should just end.

  21. https://www.postwrestling.com/2023/08/26/forever-hardcore-the-story-of-terry-funk/
  22. Just found out this news and I’m floored. I grew up watching Terry Funk in the 80’s mainly through the WWF and NWA in the late 80’s. I learned more about him as an adult as far as his international and territory exploits and was just blown away. The best thing I can say about Terry Funk is that he was believable. Face or heel, I believed everything that man said and knew he was a little off his rocker too. The Empty Arena match from Memphis is my favorite Terry Funk thing and it’s not even the match. It’s his pre-match rant about how Lawler is a coward and how the whole town of Memphis is out to get him. It crazy…..but believable. There’s just enough Southern home cooking to know that things like getting harassed by the police and stuff could happen. Then he starts going in on Lance just for being there and asking if he’s in on it too. Just a tremendous loss. RIP
