Split screen promo sees the Russians say they expect the decadent westerners of Toronto to show proper respect when they're waving the Hammer & Sickle high after grounding the American Eagles for good. *Heenan & Monsoon discuss the actions of Jake Roberts since arriving in the WWF. Heenan puts over Roberts as a master strategist who understands that keeping those around you guessing is one of the best ways to achieve victory. Monsoon says that may be true but Roberts is going to have a tougher time now that Kevin Von Erich is watching him like a hawk* Match #3 Nailz w/"The Doctor of Style" Slick defeats Ricki Ataki with "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly". Split screen Nailz says Boss Man loves talking about putting people through "hard time" but has no idea what that actually means. At Mania, Nailz says he's gonna show the whole world the true meaning of hard time. *Mooney cues up a pair of promos. Hacksaw says 'Mad Cow Manny" messed with the wrong man and at Mania he's gonna pull his horns off and hang'em over the Duggan family fireplace. Fuji says Jaynes will be the first proper demonstration of what Vader can do in a one on one match and thanks Haynes in advance for his sacrifice* Match #4 "The Walking Natural Disaster" Earthquake w/"Le Commendant" Frenchi Martin defeats Mark Starr with the "Earthquake splash". After he gets his hand raised, Quake drops another splash on Starr and years down the camera "That's for you Andre!" *Mooney kicks us to another pair of promos. Heenan -with his men gathered around him- says at WrestleMania The Heenan Family will rid the WWF of all their enemies in one fell swoop. Von Erich says Roberts may be a crafty man but his father taught him a long time ago the best way to deal with a snake was to cut it's head off* Match #5 Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka defeats Mark Ming with the "Superfly splash". The split screen sees a fired up Snuka vow to knock Haku off his throne and maybe knock his head off his shoulders! Monsoon tells the viewers that highlights of Mania will air on next weeks episode. Heenan says they wouldn't need highlights if the got off their lazy buts and made it too the Skydome. Feature Mach. The Ultimate Warrior & Demolition (Ax & Smash) vs The Heenan Family (Rich Rude & The Powers of Pain) w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan went to a no contest when Earl Hebner through the match out during a pier six brawl with all six men in the ring. Free for All exclusive. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rodgers) vs The Samoan Headhunters (Alofa & Kokina) w/"The Devious" Mr Fuji
  2. He may have lost both of them but ya gotta hand it to Big Josh for getting back to back title shots. Pillman & Luger each claim to be on the same page. I'll withhold judgement. Speaking of Luger though, defending against Muta in the Tokyodome is tough enough but through Chono in the mix and Luger is some seriously hot water.
  3. Victoria. PCO wins a Heated opener. Iron & Steel are shining ahead of the upcoming tournament, Hollywood Heartbreakers with back to back victories. Douglas catches lightening in a bottle. Scotty digs himself out of the Snow. Vancouver. There's not terrorizing the Force. Lee continues to manhandle Gunn. Sinister Minister was surely less than thrilled. Barr cashes in. Dibiase's trusty glove bails him out. I agree with Kev, Steamboat/Hart vs MVC puts up a early candidate for moty. Kelowna. Busick bullies Black. The MT strike gold. Blackman with a massive submission win. Tenryu takes down a fired up Kawada. Condrey keeps Clalifornia old. Singh comes through in a six man main event.
  4. Shamrock gets a milestone win. Onita wins the Battle of the bad boys. Fujinami's rise continues. Maeda & Fujiwara both build up steam ahead of next month's clash. Sayama retains in a nail biter.
  5. Blaze & The Power Twins get the London crown going. Seems the Olympians don't mind a DQ loss as much as a pinfall. Sammartino shows Anvil luck had nothing to do with his first win. Cactus takes the L but is having too much fun too care. The Swords with a decisive win over the Starrs. Hangman goes full sinner in his match with Beefcake. Stevens targets Graham to give Jumbo the edge. Lionheart with the massive win in the homeland.
  6. Gagne & Jarrett strike a major deal as Hennig defends against the King one more time at Champagne Slam. I agree with Nelson, there's a few guys that might be putting personal beef ahead of a potential World title shot. Gotta love how Hansen gets straight to the point. He wants the World title and he's taking it.
  7. Airing on 3/26.90 on HBO. *Unless stated otherwise matches were taped at the Coliseum in Richfield, Ohio* Match #1 (Wrestling Challenge) Big Boss Man defeats Rick Lawless with the "Boss Man Slam". Split screen promo sees Boss Man say Nailz may have slipped past him at SNME but he should know better than anyone that you can't escape justice forever! WretleMania Update: Mean Gene tells the fans that next week will be a special "March to WrestleMania" edition of Prime Time we he'll run down the full, finalized card for Toronto. Match #2 "World's Strongest Man" Dino Bravo w/"Le Commendant" Frenchy Martin defeats Batle Kat with the running Powerslam. Split screen has Dino saying that Santana was the luckiest man on earth at the Royal Rumble, by at WrestleMania, in his home country not even an act of God will keep him from becoming WWF Intercontinental Champion! WWF Update: Sean Mooney shows the crowd footage the WWF has obtained from the Beeghly Center in which Zeus & Slick, after their brutal assault on the Ultimate Warrior, walk behind the curtain and are met by Bobby Heenan & Rick Rude. There's no audio but Heenan & Slick shake hands and Heenan hands Slick a large envelope which Slick opens to reveal it's stuffed with cash! Mooney says that in light of evidence of a conspiracy between Heenan & Slick to injure The Ultimate Warrior ahead of WrestleMania Zeus has been indefinitely suspended & Slick's manager's license is "under review". Back in the studio Monsoon grills Heenan who says he is offended that the WWF has taken that video out of context. He says he was paying Slick the money he owned him from a poker game the previous evening and says he hopes Slick uses that money to hire Johnny Cochran to fight these horrible allegations. Match #3 (RAW) The Samoan Headhunters (Alofa & Kokina) w/"The Devious" Mr Fuji defeat Jerry Monti & Jim Gorman when Alofa planted Groman with a Samoan drop them tagged Kokina who drops the big sit from the second rope. Someone get a shovel. We see a vignette that aired on a recent episode of RAW. It's full of viking imagery and heralds the arrival of a "mighty warrior". Match #4 Silver King defeats The Genius with a "La Magistral" cradle. Match #5 Dr Tom Prichard defeats Steve Vega with a running bulldog. Monsoon tells the fans that a half hour special called "Free for All" will air for free on the PPV channel before WresltMania. This special will have interviews with your favorite WWF Superstars, last minute updates as well as an exclusive match. Feature Match. The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) w/"The Guiding Light" Capt Lou Albano defeat Badd Company (Pat Tanaka & Paul Diamond) w/"The Doctor of Style" Slick. BC went for a double back body drop on Brunzell who performed a sunset flip on Diamond. Tanaka tried to help his partner maintain balance but a dropkick from Blair caused him to let go allowing Brunzell to take Diamond over for the three count.
  8. UWF. Santo comes back strong after last week's attack by the Grappler. Houston & Rogers are getting heated. Chris with a feel good win. Landel & Akbar put Iceman to sleep. Doom nearly sweeps the board but the Steiner's were too much. Hennig takes the coward's way out. I bet the Memphis crowd just Pretty N Pink. Bad couple days for the Moondogs. Doom could tolerate one loss to the Steiner's but twice in two days was too much to handle; I think the Freebirds just cheated death! Precious went to the well once too often. The Freebirds got careless and it cost'em. Ohh yeah new southern champion! The Steiner's had quite the journey but they end up with the gold.
  9. I'm kinda surprised at how excited I am at the thought of Maeda taking on the Pitbull.
  10. LA. Terror is rising on the west coast. Unfortunately for Young however, Bam Bam doesn't scare easy. Regal officially aligns with Hayes & The Dreamboats. Sabu & Busick couldn't be bothered to wait for the bell. Back to back wins for Camp Cornette. Austin & PCO strike a blow against the Diamond Exchange. I imagine Less felt rather vindicated after his win over Gunn. Rose must've been fuming after getting pinned by Piper. Two big wins for the Man of Means. Sasaki rebounds in time to retain the tag titles. Another week, another successful defense by Steamboat. Santa Barbara. A quick counter by Cash gives the Money Train the win. Barr puts a point on the board for the Hexagon. The Blondes were less than Trilled with their loss. Camp Cornette go into the trenches with Sarge & co. Malenko & Azul hold on to the gold.
  11. Champagne Slam is loaded up and the Champagne Challenge is set to explode with how many rivalries you've got in it.
  12. Sting has an eventful week as he has a lot of people gunning for him as well as tension between his friends to deal with. Garvin is so pissed he doesn't care about the title anymore, he just wants to beat Martel's ass.
  13. Sayama looks to have a loaded schedule ahead of him, if he can get past Backlund that is. Hope there's something to that tag title rumor.
  14. The DC CLEARLY don't have any sour grapes Larry. Blaze with a flash pin on Kahlua. St Clair has a rather full list ahead of him. The Starrs and the Swords are on for London. The Commission stoke the Dragons' wrath. Latin Desire lay out the Maveriks. Burke returns and pulls quite the fast one on Golden. Disalvo seems to have taken the lead in his feud with Storm. Sammartino looks to make Neidhart pay. A Hogan/Hansen pull apart is always gonna make for an exciting end to a show.
  15. UWF. Grappler with the big time disrespect to the luchador. Chris Von Erich with an eventful first night. Houston stands up for the women of Texas. Parson puts the freeze on Funk. Always enjoy seeing the Moondogs run wild. Hart just is not having any luck with that megaphone. Kerry & the Steiners make a formidable trio against Devastation Inc. CWA. If I were Dutch i'd just hand Gaylord however much he says I owe him and move on. It takes a special kind of audacity to say you have the best Piledriver in Memphis. Southern Boys are surging ahead of the tag title tournament. Fuller takes advantage of an injured Armstrong. The Freebirds get the #1 seed but the arrival of the Mortons ruin the moment for the. Good to see Bluegrass get some love on the bigger USWA shows. After pinning Jarrett and Lawler in back to back weeks I don't see an argument for why Savage shouldn't get a Southern title shot. Slater is as Unpredictable as ever.
  16. Airing 3/19/90 on HBO. *Unless stated otherwise matches were taped at the Springfield Civic Center in Springfield, Mass* Match #1 Mr Saito w/"The Devious" Mr Fuji defeats Bob Allen with the "Prison Lock" (kneeling figure four) Mean Gene's update is a doozy this week as he reveals two huge matches that have been set up for Mania. First "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan will go one on one with the "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez. And that not all because by request of both men, and out of consideration to the lengthy rivalry they've shared over the years, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes will face the leader of the Texas Outlaws Terry Funk in a TEXAS BULLROPE MATCH! Match #2 (RAW) Jake "The Snake" Roberts defeats Joe Cephus. Roberts offers a handshake which is accepted after some hesitation. As soon as the bell rings however Roberts doubles Cephus over with a boot and spikes him with a DDT. Roberts never stops smiling. Match #3 (RAW) Billy Jack Haynes defeats Eddie Beesbury with the Full Nelson. Split screen sees Haynes tell Vader to come find him whenever the Mastodon's ready to take on a real challenge. If Fuji lets him that is. We see a interview fro a recent episode of Wrestling Challenge between Mean Gene and Kevin Von Erich. Okerlund asks about the run in with Jake Roberts and Von Erich says he's known Jake a long time, ever since Roberts came to Texas to terrorize he & his brothers. Says he'll be keeping an eye on Roberts who better not stop out of line. Sean Mooney reminds people how they can get WrestleMania and segways into promos. Earthquake says his match with Andre has been made official and it'll be the honor of his career to be the man who retires Andre the Giant. Demolition say they'll run though Barbarian, Warlord AND Heenan to get THEIR tag titles back! Back in the studio, a clearly rattled Heenan says by the time the PoP are done with them, Demolition will be able to be shipped back to the states in their own luggage! Match #4 Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka defeats The Genius with the "Superfly splash". As his hand is being raised Snuka looks down the camera and tells Haku he hasn't forgotten about him! Mean Gene gives his weekly WrestleMania Update. Match #5 non title WWF Intercontinental Champion Tito Santana defeats Steve Vega with the flying forearm. Heenan & Monsoon hype the WrestleMania main event....which of course means that Monsoon hypes the match while Heenan hypes Rick Rude. Feature match. Bad News Brown vs "Northern Light" Hiroshi Hase ends in a time limit draw. Slick came to ringside and actually tried to get involved. He presumably meant to trip Hase as Brown sent him off the ropes but Hase reversed it and Slick tripped Brown. The two got into an argument before the ref sent Slick to the back.
  17. Tully's looking awfully self assure for a guy who's making a habit of pissing off his boss. I have to imagine there's serious pressure on Pillman stepping up in Sting's place. Garvin says he wants a fight he means he wants a fight!
  18. I already posted the trade regarding Christopher earlier. Also, Lowblow is letting me use Jake Roberts as part of a delayed trade, i'll be sending him Big Boss Man some time in April.
  19. Oaklandd. Lee weathers the Storm. Cornette is still trying to find the best trick to take on the Force. Barr and the Minister put all their enemies on notice. The number's catch up with Jericho. Solid explanation from Tatum & Singh. Scotty sends the night by holding onto his TV title. San Francisco. The Brigade recoup their losses against the Club. Windham makes the night a clean sweep for the Brigade. Steve's return stuns Awesome. Tenryu needs a mighty effort to keep Bigelow down. A pair of successful defenses close the night. Fresno. Sabu is on a tear. I don't think the Gigolo will be accepting cash anytime soon. The Beast grounds Zakowski. The Heartbreakers redeem themselves. Another pair of felled challengers close the loop.
  20. Slick Ric is in the AWA and is immediately putting himself in the Champagne Challenge. Colon & the Renegade Warriors enter an increasingly loaded field. Debeers lives up to his word and lends Smith an hand. Beefcake may be too focused on Hangman to win the Champagne Challenge. Cactus is having too much fun to quit. Muraco is also multi tasking having to deal with Jumbo and the CC. The RnR Express are pissed off now. Taylor may have the International title but he's still got his sights set on the top prize. Konnan gets laid out giving David an unexpected opportunity. David wins the TV title under questionable circumstances but nobody's focusing on that after Neidhart shows his nasty side.
  21. I'll go ahead and drop Halme. Don't really have a place for him.
  22. Halme is not currently on my roster. Honestly I assumed he'd reverted to fee agency. While i'm here, WWF sends Brian Christopher, Adam Bomb & Zeus to WCW for Mr Hughes, Bob Orton & Berzerker.
  23. Airing on 3/12/90 on HBO. *Unless stated otherwise matches were taped at the Rochester Community War Memorial in Rochester NY* Match #1 (RAW) The Commonwealth (Dynamite Kid & Chris Benoit) defeat The Nightstlaker & The Comet Kid Paul Diamond in a mask) when Benoit pinned Kid with a "Dragon" suplex. Benoit is really winning the fans over with his technical ability. After the match Nightstalker snaps and plants Kid with a chokeslam. Back in the studio Monsoon hypes the Commonwealth's chances of becoming the United States Tag champs but Heenan says the Rougeaou's are the craftiest team he knows and he's sure they'll have a plan come Mania. WrestleMania Update: We get a promo from Andre who says he wasn't bothered by Earthquake's "new giant" talk because he's heard it all before. Big John Studd, King Kong Bundy, Giant Haystacks, Giant Gonzalez and plenty more all thought they were going to take the title of wrestling's one true giant from him but they're all gone and he's still here. If Earthquake wants to join them, he's welcome to try an Mania! Match #2 "The Golden Warrior" Kevin Von Erich defeats Brian Christopher with the "Iron Claw". Jake Roberts enters the ring after the match and Von Erich is immediately on edge. Roberts offers a handshake but Von Erich backs out of the ring, never taking his eyes off Roberts, who's all smiles the whole time. We get another update confirming that the Tito Santana/Dino Bravo rematch for the IC title is on for Mania. Match #3 "The Mastodon" Vader w/"The Devious" Mr Fuji flattens Ricki Ataki with Powerbomb. He keeps beating on Ataki after the bell to the delight of Fuji but Billy Jack Haynes comes down and pulls him off. Vader actually looks excited to fight someone his size but Fuji gets in the ring and talks him down. We get a replay of the Rude?Warrior promos from a recent episode of Wrestling Challenge. Match #4 (Wrestling Challenge) Tugboat defeats Randy Jones with the "Capsize". Event Center: Mooney plays us a pair of promos from The American Eagles & The Bolsheviks regarding their flag match at Mania. Match #5 non title. The Powers of Pain (Barbarian & Warlord) w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeat The Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch) with the "Pain Train" on Butch. PoP grab a pair of chairs and look to do serious damage when Demolition run down and it seems to take every security guard in the state of New York to separate them. Back in the studio Monsoon reveals that at Mania, The PoP will defend the WWF Tag Team Titles against Demolition in a Toronto Street Fight! Heenan says he's got the best lawyers money can buy to get this decision overturned to which Monsoon wishes luck with enough sarcasm to choke a rhino. Feature Match (RAW) Ameria's Team (Dusty Rhodes & Jim Duggan) defeat The Texas Outlaws (Black Bart & Dick Murdoch) when Duggan pins Bart with the "Three Point" lariat. Funk and Fernandez hit the ring and a 4 on 2 beat down is on that leaves' both their rivals laying and Rhodes actually cut open.
  24. Kaluha dampens the Blaze. The Warriors and the Dragons wash the bad taste out of everyone's mouths. Storm with a thunderous spear. Sawyer and the Stud put a hurtin' on Cactus. Vinnie is certainly feeling some good vibrations after that win. Taylor has a firm grip on the International title.
  25. Portland. Not sure how Coast 2 Coast got the Monster on their side but it was worth it. So now Barr is.....helping Piper? Okay didn't see that coming. The Hexagon are through playing nice. Big Vito is coming along nicely. Sarge closed that particular book. Scotty remains the best wrestler on PCW TV. Night 2. PCO best the Gentlemen again. Awesome's path of rage continues. The Brigade closes down the Club. Hart chose his partners well. Dibiase puts the TC back in the win column. Dr Death fails again to take the Dragon's gold. Eugene. The MT go two straight to keep their trios titles. The Monster hands Jack the Victory. The Midnight's felt the power of the Force. Without Singh's help, Tatum falls to Dreamer. Malenko submits the Lethal Weapon. Barr pushing Azul to the breaking point.
