Brutus Beefcake defeated Nailz w/Slick with an inside cradle after the former inmate got a little too carried away jawing with the fans. WWF Tag Team Championship Steel Cage Match. The Powers of Pain (Barbarian & Warlord)(c) defeat Demolition (Ax & Smash) after Heenan leaves the commentary table, steals the key to the cage from the ref and lets Haku in the cage. Fujinami is on a major roll but Fujiwara tapping out Maeda can't be overlooked. UWF-N is going all in on tag team wrestling starting next month.

Victoria. The Sons of the Beach make their way to the shores of.....Canada. Oh well they;lol get to California soon enough. Also what is a "stuff powerbomb"? Shane falls to the Monster. Kawada's mean streak is coming through. I could watch Severn & Finlay beat the hell out of each other all day. Cash with a Beautiful win. The night ends with the major arrival of Rick Martel. Vancouver. Lograsso continues to impress even if he can't get the w yet. The Bulldozer continues to flatten everyone in his path. The New Jersey Fireball melts the Iceman. Tenryu is on the rebound. The OWC continue the Collective's success. Bully breaks Sabu. Barr shows the Club why they shouldn't get involved with his affairs. Not to speak for Jimmy but you're not the first of us to bring over a gimmick.

Snowman returns to the place that's always treated him right. I think the Starrs just slayed a Dragon. Taylor taking Colon WAY too lightly. Kahlua finally puts his feud with Blaze to rest. Bundy & The Olympians come together to put a serious hurting on Brandi. Idol tips his hand and declares he wants Flair's title shot. Vinnie pushes his boys over the line and get them a World tag title opportunity. I'm not sure there's a damn thing ANYBODY can do to keep Hansen away from the AWA World Title.

Nice card showing off all the foreign talent the UWF has on tap.

Slick interrupts and Brown starts to tell him off. Slick says he doesn't understand the hostility. They go way back after all, did plenty of "good work down south". Brown says he remembers that good work and how he walked away from it with SIGNIFICANTLY less money than Slick said he would. Brown continues by saying he's tried to be cool about but now he's telling Slick straight up...BACK OFF! Match #6 (Wrestling Challenge) "The Mastodon" Vader w/"The Devious" Mr Fuji defeats Mark Frear & Jim McPherson by laying them next to each other and splatting them both with the "Vader Bomb". Feature Match "Ravishing" Rick Rude w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeats Tugboat with the "Rude Awakening". -
What an ending to Power Hour with Paul E losing his mind over the phone as his man has won the world title! The Nasty's & Skyscrapers get nuts and the Nasty's show they know how to handle Zeus. Sasaki with quite the debut with a win over Owen. Abby & OMG may have just caused an international incident! Roadies make a strong impression in Japan. Now that we've seen Muta's win, I think WCW officials are gonna have something to say. Z man legitimizes his TV title win.

Love the nail-biter for the TV title. OMG & Abby is a nightmare duo for the WCW lockerroom. Diamond Stud really shines this week.

Vegas baby! Night 1. The Money Train's reign as trios champs chugs along. Iron & Steel advancing is no surprise but it looks like they may be feeling the Heat next round. Sarge wins a brutal slog with Lograsso. The Thrillseekers do it Ferda boys. Good night for theCoast 2 Coast/Singh coalition. Bigelow finally gets that major win over Tenryu. Coast 2 Coast take advantage of a loophole to cost the Dreamboats the titles. Condrey does it again. Justin & Awesome put Savage at his wits end. Barr brings gold to the Hexagon. Night 2. The Force outsmart the Midnaights. PCO with a statement win over Adams. It's Iron & Steel and Coast 2 Coast for the finals. Hart & Piper come together to break a couple hearts. Bully busts Sabu. Another successful Playboy Club plan. Blackman with his crowning achievement in PCW. Scotty makes it a perfect night for the Club. The MVC make it 2 for 2 in TC title matches. Iron & Steel give Coast 2 Coast a desperately needed asswhooping. The Man of Means makes it a clean sweep for the TC. The Ear of Terror indeed.
-
If I were Debeers, I'd consider requesting new subordinates. The Hangman is on the hunt for his next victim. The Enforcers have a plan had it involves tag team gold. Kahlua burns Blaze. The Mavericks title win sets off a threeway brawl. Jumbo and Stevens are through messing around. Burke and Golden get thrown out. Idol returns and immediately starts shit with Flair. This will be fun.
-
The merger leaves Lawler with a whole host of enemies but a few new allies. Akbar takes the opportunity to re-introduce himself. Doom doubles down on their heel turn. Love Dutch 'oh, yeah....that was you" with Gaylord. Freebirds' take offense to the Southern Boys eyeing the gold.

Airing 4/16/90 on HBO. *Unless stated otherwise matches were taped at the Glenn Falls Civic Center in Glenn Falls NY* Match #1 (Wrestling Challenge) Jake "The Snake" Roberts defeats Joe Champ with the DDT. WWF Update: The next Saturday Night's Main Event will air May 17th from the Centrum in Worcester Massachusetts. This event will hold the final King's Court Match before King of the RIng in London meaning it's the last place to take the crown from Haku's head as well as the WWF Championship match that comes with it. Match #2 (RAW) Nailz w/"The Doctor of Style" Slick defeats Jim McPherson with "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly" A vignette airs with a dull looking man walking dejectedly through past a barbershop. The door suddenly opens and a muscular man with flowing hair whisks him inside. After examining him for a bit the man gets to work as a small crowd mostly of admiring women gather round. He finishes and the other man is totally transformed and leaves with a couple of the women in tow. The barber turns toward the camera with a satisfied grin. Match #3 (RAW) "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes defeats Chris Duffy with a swinging vertical suplex. Dusty is on commentary for the match and is as proud as he can be when he dubs the match winning move "Natural Selection" baby! We see a recently aired interview Mean Gene did with Earthquake & Frenchy Martin. Earthquake says what he did to Andre at Mania will be a slight tremor compared to the quake he drops on the Warrior in Philly. Says he proved he's the WWF"s one true giant and after the 28th he'll be its one true champion! Match #4 The Berzerker w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeats Sonny Blaze after beating the hell out of him then chucking him over the top rope and letting the ref count him out. Event Center: It's announced that on the 28th in the Boston Garden there will be a special one night 8 man tournament to determine who will challenge Haku in the King's Court Match at SNME. Match #5 Silver King defeats "Russian Brute" Boris Zhukov with a La Magistral cradle. Match #6 Tito Santana defeats El Gato with a flying forearm. Event Center: Another big match is added to the show on Philadelphia on the 28th as Fuji's Samoan Headhunters will challenge the Commonwealth for the WWF US Tag Team Championship. Match #7 Billy Jack Haynes defeats The Iron Sheik after powering out of the "Camel Clutch" and getting Sheik to submit to the Full Nelson. Feature Match. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeats "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch with the Three Point Lariat to a huge hometown pop. -
Dang my email took me straight to the Omni post. Fixing now. Gotta say a price of 40k definitely explains why all the heels are taking shots at the Stinger. Sherri's confident Zeus can get her that payday, can't say I blame her. Question is, who's putting up the cash? With all the hype on Muta, I wouldn't be surprised if he walks out of Tokyo with the gold. Quite the debut for Scott Norton as he inserts himself into possibly WCW's biggest storyline. Can't help but smile reading how some guys are just....there.
-
Oakland. Blackman builds steam. Barr is on a tear. Severn stops Zakowski. I know I won't be surprised if the TC is all wearing gold soon. The Force look strong just in time to piss Cornette off for his interview. Gunn's lack of focus proves costly. PR secure a big win ahead of Vegas. San Francisco. Big night for Lee as he beats Hashimoto and prevents Piper from interfering in the trios match, I mean the Club still lost but Lee did his part. Bidelow & Tenryu get a little too heated. Damn! Three Piledrivers and Barr still walks out on his own? No wonder Piper was impressed? Both members of the MVC go down but neither goes down easy. Fresno. Adams was no Gentlemen to Jett. Iron & Steel, Sabu and the OWC all get showcases. The saga of the Dreamboats, Regal Coast 2 Coast & Singh chugs along. LK recklessness coasts him against Azul.
-
The Rockers get the Atlanta crowd fired up. A trios match gives the faces some shine. The Nasty's won't back down from Scary Sherri's monsters. Speaking of monsters, Abdullah gets a nice win. JYD takes down an entire gang. P&G weren't going to escape so easily. Rotundo & Sullivan could be something. Sting gets targeted in a crazy scene. Garvin wins a bloodbath in a much deserved main event.

WWF sends Masa Saito to AWA for Brutus Beefacke.

Good idea getting the predictable battle royal out of the way first. We all knew the Nature Boy was taking this one. To say that Lain Desire have a gripe would be a gross understatement. Colon wasn't my first guess to take on Flair but still a good choice. He had to come to the AWA to do it but Lawler finally claims the USWA title. But the moment gets ruined by the return of Larry Z with Double A in tow! Rock n Roll will never die and tonight proved it won't be destroyed either. Champagne Challenge or no, Hansen is NOT going to walk away from this one. Speaking of the Challenge, Flair was the obvious pick and I mean that in the best way. Can't wait for him and Hogan at WrestleRock.

Airing 4/9/90 on HBO. *Unless stated otherwise matches were taped at the Onondaga War Memorial in Syracuse NY* *We start the show with Mean Gene narrating a highlight reel from WrestleMania VI* Match #1 (Wrestling Challenge) The Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch) defeat two jobbers with the "Bushwhacker Battering Ram". WWF Update: Mean Gene hypes that on April 28th the WWF is holding a special "double header" event, one half of which will take place in the Spectrum in Philadelphia with a absolutely massive main event as new WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior defends against Earthquake! Back in the studio Heenan says Warrior better pray Earthquake takes the title off him because otherwise he has to deal with a ticked off Rick Rude. He also reminds people that as reigning King, Haku is set to challenge for the title at the King of the Rng PPV in London. Monsoon asks what Rude will do if Haku gets the title off Warrior first to which Heenan makes a lot of noise but doesn't actually say anything. Match #2 Tugboat squishes some The Comet Kid with the "Capsize". Sean Mooney takes us to a special video taped backstage at WrestleMania. Dusty Rhodes is in the trainers room getting checked on while the man who came to his rescue is standing by. Dusty says that as sore as he is he's never been prouder as a man and especially as a father. He introduces the taller blonde man as his eldest son "the apple of my eye & the fruit of my loins" Dustin Rhodes! Dustin steps forward and says he came to Mania to route his father on but when he saw what Funk and the Texas Outlaws were about to do, he couldn't help himself. He says that he;lol show the Outlaws or anyone else why you don't mess with the Rhodes family! Match #3 (RAW) Silver King takes the win with the "Silver Driver" (kneeling belly to belly Piledriver) The ending of the Toronto Street Fight plays with the large Viking themed man helping the POP retain. Monsoon says it's a good thing Heenan had that wild man nearby to bail his team out. Heenan says there are no rules in a street fight so he & his men didn't do anything wrong. He has unleashed The Berzerker on the WWF and he has one mission, to tear through anyone Heenan declares a threat to the Family. Match #4 Koko B. Ware defeats "Le Commandant" Frenchy Martin with the "Ghostbuster". Mean Gene is back with the second half of the "double header" event on the 28th. The WWF returns to the Boston Garden and in the main event the WWF Tag Team Championship will be on the line. Due to blatant interference at Mania, the championship committee has declared that The Powers of Pain will defend against Demolition one more time....inside a steel cage! Match #5 Hiro Hase defeats "Hollywood" Bob Holly with the "Northern Lights" suplex. Feature Match. Dr Tom Prichard defeats "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr with a running bulldog. -
Portland. Iron & Steel break some hearts ahead of the tag tournament. Lee bulldozes another victim. Blackman couldn't tame the Italian Stallion. Severn is still at the top of his game. The Citadel & The Hexagon get off to a crazy start. Hayes' Knight in shining armor comes through. Dibiase & Barr pick up strong wins. Piper gets the better of Rose two nights in a row. The Loverboy's dream of a golden menage trois is dashed. Eugene. The Hexagon got snowed in. Adams with the KO to PCO. Cornette's top team take down the rookies. Alas the good times don't last for Camp Cornette as Del Ray gets blasted by a canon. Gordy gets some much needed momentum ahead of next week's match. Azul prevents Cash from adding some gold to his fortune. The Night of Steel could seriously shape events at Vengeance.

The alliance between Luger & Pillman is starting to strain. Though I would expect the alliance between Muta & Koloff to not be much better. Muta has been after the World title since he arrived in WCW and he's getting it at the Tokyo Dome. In Brian & Jerry's defense Sherri could be pretty damn scary. Putting her next to Zea.... won't help matters.

*A panel of experts analyze the most high profile matches at this year's event with particular focus on the WWF CHampionship match as well as covering the years long, several territory spanding blood feud between Dusty Rhodes & Terry Funk* Exclusive match. The Samoan Headhunters (Alofa & Kokina) w/"The Devious" Mr Fuji defeats The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) when Rogers tried a crossbody on Kokina who turned it into a Samoan drop. Live on PPV! The Skydome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. April 6th 1990. Vince McMahon is dressed to the nines as he welcomes everyone to WrestleMania VI! After some grandstanding from Vinnie Mac he hands the mic over to Robert Goulet for his rendition of "OH Canada". https://youtu.be/PDMet7G6WZ4?si=5n6YaFCv7Jn5iOVj Flag Match. The American Eagles (Liberty & Justice) vs The Bolshieviks (Boris Zhukov & Nikolai Volkoff). The Eagles did what they could and between them & the hot opening match crowd, we got something better than it perhaps should have been. Full credit to the Toronto crowd who happily played along despite technically having no dog in the fight. The Eagles retrieve Ol' Glory and the crowd popped so loud you'd think it was the Maple Leaf! Winners: The American Eagles. Mean Gene is standing by with Andre the Giant. Andre says tonight Earthquake becomes just another in a long line of failed pretenders who tried to knock him from his rightful spot in WWF history. Says Earthquake is a impressive athlete with a bright future but there is only ONE man worthy of being called the "8th Wonder of the World" and that is Andre. Billy Jack Haynes vs "The Mastodon" Vader w/"The Devious" Mr Fuji Toronto lit up for this classic hoss fight between two of the most physical men in the WWF. Vader seemed to decide tonight was the night to show just how agile he is for a man he's size with a particular highlight being that Vader, from the apron, entered the ring by performing a backflip over the ropes before sending Haynes to the floor with a clothesline. https://www.reddit.com/r/WCW/comments/1jhespp/i_always_liked_when_vader_was_unnecessarily_flippy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button Haynes was able to apply his famed Full Nelson but with a burst of strength and a roar of rage, Vader powered out of the hold. Seeing his prized hold fail seemed to shake Haynes and it wasn't long after he fell victim to the "Vader-sault" Winner: "The Mastodon" Vader "The Golden Warrior" Kevin Von Erich vs Jake "The Snake" Roberts In stark contrast to the previous match, this was a highly technical affair with several impressive displays of chain wrestling and counters to counters being deployed. Roberts seems to make aggravating Von Erich a key part of his plan and it seemed to work more and more as the match goes on. FInaly Kev snaps and is stomping a mud hole into Roberts in the corner and the ref has to physically pry him off his opponent. Kev is so heated he shoves the ref out of his way which means the ref doesn't see Roberts score with an uppercut to the uprights. He does however turn around in time to see Kev spiked with the DDT. Winner: Jake Roberts. Mean Gene is standing by with the Big Boss Man who says that the hardest thing about law breakers is that some people just never learn from their mistakes. When he was working in Cobb County he saw many prisoners use their time in jail to finish their education, learn a new trade or even get right with the man upstairs but Nailz wasn't that kind of guy. No people like Nailz spend their entire time in lock up bitter and angry, blaming anyone and everyone but themselves for how things turned out. For what happens tonight however, Boss Man says Nailz has nobody to blame but himself. *Howard Finkel explains the rules of a Prison Yard match. No DQ, no countouts, no pinfalls & no submission. The only way to win is to lock your opponent in "solitary confinement" i.e lock them in a shark cage at ringside.* Prison Yard Match. Big Boss Man vs Nailz w/"The Doctor of Style" Slick These two don't bother with anything resembling a wrestling match and just start beating the hell out of each other as soon as they get in range. They don't spend that much time in the ring instead brawling on the floor, in the aisle and even in the crowd. Boss Man looks to have Nailz put away when Slick raises the ring apron and gives a "come in out" gesture. This summons Mr Hughes who has his own nightstick and delivers several stiff shots to Boss Man who is taken completely by surprise. Nailz has regrouped and together they throw Boss Man's lifeless heap in the cage. Winner: Nailz Mean Gene is with the entire Northern Invasion and they are fired up to be in their home country. Jaqcues says that DK may be a British wrestling legend that means nothing in "the crown jewel of the Commonwealth" while Raymond says Benoit is clearly a fine, young Canadian athlete but he & his brother are the greatest tag team Canada has ever produced and all the talent in the world can take the WWF Canadian Tag Team titles from them. Earthquake says it will be his honor to confide Andre to the history books where he belongs before taking his rightful place as the WWF's one true giant. Bravo finishes up by saying that Santana's luck has run out as is his time with the IC title. WWF Canadian United States Tag Team Championship. The Fabulous Rougeaou Brothers (Jaqcues & Raymond)(c) w/"Le Commandant" Frenchy Martin vs The Commonwealth (Dynamite Kid & Chris Benoit) A classic tag team encounter in which the champs isolate Kid for most of the match. Benoit gets the hot tag and tears into the Rougeaou's with blistering chops and German suplexes culminating with him submitting Raymond to the cross face. Winners AND NEW WWF United States Tag Team Champions: The Commonwealth Special Attraction Match. "8th Wonder of the World" Andre the Giant vs "The Walking Natural Disaster" Earthquake w/"Le Commandant" Frenchy Martin A work rate classic this is not but there's a certain aura about it. They keep it brief but the ending is memorable as Earthquake scores a bodyslam on Andre before landing the "Earthquake splash". The ref goes to count but Quake gets off at two and delivers another. The ref goes to count again but once again Quake gets up, he works the crowd before delivering a third splash for the 1..2..3. Winner: Earthquake. *20 minute intermission* The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) w/The Guiding Light" Capt Lou Albano vs Badd Company (Paul Diamond & Pat Tanaka) w/"The Doctor of Style" Slick These two teams have been having matches around the loop and tend to be regarded as a highlight on whatever card they're on so it was decided to give them a spot on the big card and they do not disappoint. The finish does disappoint some however as a kerfuffle between managers distracts Brunzell enough that Diamond can roll him up with his feet on the ropes. Winners: Badd Company. The Heenan Family is in the promo zone and Heenan is as self-assured as a man can be. He dismisses Snuka as an "untrained savage who has no business in the ring with a ruler as regal and majestic as Haku" and Demolition as a pair of "Village people rejects who are in for a world of Pain." Rude takes over and says that he's going to do something the Ultimate Warrior could never do which is talk in a language everyone can understand. He is beyond tired of having to pretend that a painted up, roided up mental case is even remotely worthy of challenging for the most prestigious title in pro wrestling today. Says Warrior will be nothing but a colorful footnote in the Ravishing era which will only end when he says it will. King's Court Match King Haku w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka Snuka comes out wearing an Polynesian themed headpiece while Haku is adorned in not just his King's Crown but a cape of brightly colored bird feathers. Snuka is extra intense for this match and manages to overwhelm Haku for a period. A missed Superfly splash allows Haku to take control with his MMA inspired offense. Snuka has a few more hopes spots but ultimately can't escape the Tongan Death Grip. Winner AND STILL King: Haku Grudge Match "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan vs "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez A southern style brawl that wouldn't look out of place in Memphis or New Orleans that sees Duggan get some much deserved payback with his three point lariat. Winner: Jim Duggan. WWF Tag Team Championship Toronto Street Fight. The Powers of Pain (barbarian & Warlord)(c) w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs Demolition (Ax & Smash) Just four big, powerful dudes beating each other senseless with anything that isn't nailed down. The champs look to be in trouble when a large man in Viking themed garb jumped the guardrail and starts wailing on both Ax & Smash. He floors Smash with a big boot before working with the PoP to put Ax through a table with a triple powerbomb. Looks like Heenan found his men quite the insurance policy. Winners AND STILL WWF Tag Team Champions: The Powers of Pain Dusty Rhodes in the promo zone and tells Mean Gene he doesn't know if his feud with Terry Funk will ever be over but he'll fight as long as he has strength in his body. Says Funk is the nastiest most low down dirty dog he's ever met and just knows Funk has something planned but says Funk's been plotting against the Dream for years and ain't none of them worked yet. WWF Intercontinental Championship Tito Santana(c) vs "World's Strongest Man" Dino Bravo w/"Le Commendant" Frenchy Martin. These two have really found the right formula for themselves as Bravo plays the domineering strong man while Tito is the face that refuses to stay down no matter how hard he's hit. After a back and forth matchup Santana manages to trap his foe in the Figure Four. For all his struggling, Bravo can't escape the hold. Martin, seeing his man's distress jumps onto the apron just as Bravo taps out. Santana is overjoyed until he sees the interfering manager. Realizing the hold he walks over and decks Le Commandant before returning his attention to Bravo. Santana tries to reapply the hold but Bravow pulls him into an inside cradle with a handful of tights for the three count. Winner AND NEW WWF Intercontinental Champion: Dino Bravo. A promo airs for this years King of the Ring which is revealed will air live on PPV...from the London Arena in London England! Texas Bullrope Match. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs Terry Funk The latest chapter of the Rhodes/Funk saga plays out and the Toronto fans in attendance and the viewers at home can feel the years of animosity between those two as they each batter the other within an inch of their life. Both men are busted open in this dramatic encounter Funk tries to Piledrive Rhodes onto the cowbell but Rhodes counters into a backbody drop. The bell does play into the finish as Rhodes comes off the top rope and drives it directly into the top of Funk's head. Winner: Dusty Rhodes As Rhodes is getting his hand raised, Dick Murdoch & Black Bart storm the ring and lay a beating on the already bloodied and battered Rhodes, apparently determined to avenge their leaders honor (such as it is). After helping Funk back to his feet and hands him the cowbell. Holding Dusty's arms back, The Outlaws seems poised to deal out some devastating damage when a new arrival charges into the ring with a steel chair. Murdoch & Bart go down after hard shots and Funk, already exhausted and seeing the momentum has been lost, slinks out of the ring. Seeing the Outlaws in retreat the man goes to give Dusty a helping hand. Now that things have calmed, fans and commentators alike are able to get a clear look at the man. He's several inches taller than Dusty and considerably slimmer but that bleach blonde hair alone denotes some kind of relation between them. Dusty, coming to his senses and perhaps just now realizing who his rescuer is, seems taken aback before lunging forward and taking the man in a hug. they leave together, the other man allowing Dusty to lean on him. Mean Gene with his final interview of the night and it's the ultimate Warrior. Warriors says the moment of destiny is upon them and the battle for the spirit of the WWF is about to commence. The rocket ship has been filled with fuel and now it falls to him to steer it through the celestial chaos and deliver the Warriors to the promised land of Shangri-La. But a force of untold malevolence stands between them and enlightenment.
