David is ready to finally be ready of Zbyszko. Jammer seems to have gotten over the surprise answer from Burke. Neidhart with a strange message for Brandi. Fun idea with the tug of war. The Olympians are predictably poor sportsmen but it bites them. Colon looks to leave no doubt about his wrestling ability. Dream Machine finds out what goes around come around. Graham clearly has no control over Muraco. The Fantastic & the Express finally blow their tops. Nikita drops the champ and ends the show on an ominous note.

PWF- Professional Wrestling Federation (FLORIDA 1989-)

Rasta makes a fun debut. Texas Death Match! Fuck yeah! The Armstrongs get the chance to shut up Los Guerreros. Lancaster really could have thought that line through better. The Son of the Beach isn't looking too chill brah. From the second I read it was Mando's lawyer who sent in the contract I just knew something was up. Top Gun found someone to watch his six. The PWF is giving one hell of a Christmas present to the people of Miami. -
Fun update showing the variety of attractions Bert's bringing to BCW.

Sherri sure got over Sting quick. Though if she's looking for a man to take to the top, Spivey is a great choice. The Rockers earn some serious respect by not backing down from the Road Warriors. Wildfire has a chance to go International when he takes on Muta.

World Wrestling Federation (1990-)

WWF Magazine December 1989 edition. Keeping it in the Family. As the World Wrestling Federation heads into the new decade Bobby Heenan has every reason to believe it will belong to his family. The Barbarian and The Warlord -collectively known as the Powers of Pain- stand atop the tag team division. The powerhouse duo were already an imposing force but ever since capturing the gold they've been all but unstoppable, tearing through whatever duo has been put in their path. Haku reigns as King of the Ring, lording over the WWF with an iron fist. Any challenge to his rule is met with a ferocity befitting a wild beast. And last but certainly not least, the jewel in the Heenan Family crown, "Ravishing " Rick Rude has a iron clad grip on the WWF title. A title he has controlled -with only a brief interruption- since June. That the Heenan Family is in a position of dominance cannot be denied but it would be a mistake to say there were threats to their positions. Demolition -former Tag Team champions themselves- have reasserted themselves in the title hunt and have made clear they are not afraid of the Powers of Pain. The Ultimate Warrior and Andre the Giant have both positioned themselves as opponents of the Family, the latter in particular being the sole man to disrupt Rude's grip on the WWF title. Whether or not his Family can weather this myriad of challenges remains to be seen but as 1990 dawns across the world I can't be argues that Bobby Heenan is poised to shape the entirety of the World Wrestling Federation in his image. Oh, Canada. After the sudden departure of their manager Jimmy Hart it seemed the Canadian quartet of Dino Bravo, Earthquake and the Rougeau Brothers (Jacques & Raymond) had lost their sense of direction. So it took some observers by surprise when the group were able to rally and claim victory at Survivor Series. The real shock however came n Nov 30th at the Meadowlands when Jacques and Earthquake (Raymond had travel issues) defeated the Steiner Brothers to capture the US Tag Team Titles. The reason for this sudden resurgence was revealed on a recent episode of Raw in the form of a new manager. Frenchy Martin, or as he prefers to be called "Le Commandant", has proven to be an effective leader of what he's dubbed "The Northern Invasion". Invoking what he calls "Canadian rules" he's convinced President Jack Tunny to allow any two members of the Invasion can defend the US Tag Titles ,which he and his men have taken to calling the Canadian Tag Team Titles. This means that potential challengers could be facing the Rougeau Brothers one night then Bravo & Earthquake the next. While many have naturally questioned the validity of this rule -and President Tunney's decision to honor it- it must be said the Canadian contingent has used it effectively and whomever seeks to take the United States/Canadian Tag Team Titles from them will have to be ready for anything. -

Two big title matches set for Christmas. Humperdinck has a new enemy with a need for speed. Lancaster's unexpected push continues. The Superstar secures his title match with Mando thanks to the Armstrongs. -
I've heard stories of the Thrill seekers in Smoky Mountain. Look forward to seeing you handle them.

A pair of exciting trios coming to PCW.

Huber refuses to be ignored. Sir Tony still can't bring himself to take Colon seriously. Konnan v Blackblood was predictably chaotic. Orndorff promises Hansen a Wonderful ass kicking. The All-Stars catch Armstrong alone. I'm with Rain, you're making the Red Rooster gimmick far more viable than it has any right to be. I like how there's ambiguity in the Fantastics/RnR segment. You could say that the champs were petty or that the Express were oversensitive. Sawyer has a surprise waiting for him at SuperClash. Good work blending the two tag feuds together. Nikita and Debeers' planned ambush doesn't go to plan.

For those considering buying last minute, here's the full card. Pre-show. Leon Slater vs JDC Frankie Kazarian vs Jonathan Gresham Main show. Moose(c) vs Kushida Knockouts Title. Masha Slamovitch(c) vs Tasha Steelx World Title. Nic Nemith(c) vs AJ Francis *I heard commentary call them this and I like it. I don't believe it's official though.

Hennig winning the title on a coin flip may just be the most heel thing ever! Keirn looks good in the opener. Paul Bearer and the Undertaker make a chilling first impression. Dustin properly introduces himself to Memphis and immediately takes the fight to the Japanese monster. I think Lance & Dutch might have gotten Brad confused for someone else for a bit there. But what's important is Dutch surely got his Tri State title match with that trick with Somers. Memphis TV is like Fight Club, if your there, you gotta fight.

I remembered you had a rule that the US champion could trade the belt in for a World title shot but I was still surprised Lex would swoop in and take Sting's spot. Sting's a bigger man than I am agreeing to watch Lex's back after that. Speaking of Sting, i'd keep an eye on Sherri if I were him. Arn & Tully have enough trouble with the Road Warriors already but now the Rockers are on their trail? Gary Hart is building one scary stable. First the Samoans followed by the Berserker. Brother Love has a pretty impressive crew himself and he has a chance to leave Future Shock with a good amount of gold. Owen Hart vs Jushin Thunder Luger. Nuff said. Wahoo and Tatanka make a natural pair, as do Race and Orton.

Looks like SinMin has some formidable new clients.

Prentice & Gossett continue to highlight the weekly shows. Taz makes quite the impressive debut. Renesto closes the show with a feel-good win.

SuperClash is gonna rock the Mile High city!

The Bullet troop looks good heading to the blow-off with the All-stars. Patera is eager to fight for his friend. Orndorff gives Hansen a taste of what's coming. The Moondogs can cause a lot of havoc in a battle royal. Jammer finally gets an answer to his challenge. The All-Stars had better be on their best behavior with Mr T as the enforcer. The Fantastics were really on edge tonight. Larry's ambush blows up in his face. The Anvil arrives in style by immediately earning himself a TV title shot. Nikita looks like a beast demolishing two men.

Fidel Sierra as a face? Well if he's facing Humperdinck it might work. Rasta the voodoo man, pardon me mon may be the most territory gimmick I've come across in this game so far. Lancaster continues to vex Precious and her boys. Mando saying he'd never heard of Bill Dundee cracked me up. Looks like Los Guerreros are gonna get real familiar with the Superstar in the next couple of weeks. DJ and Mulligan's back and forth was my favorite part of this week's episode. Luckily they were able to find Grizz but he wasn't in any condition to help his team win. -
UWF wisely hyping the coming arrival of Fujinami. NJPW is really being hit hard since UWF came around.

A great set of TV that really sets the scene in WCW's new landscape. Man I wish I could hear Solie & Sullivan on Commentary. I wonder what Sullivan's gift is? Between Sting, Luger & Muta, Flair certainly isn't at a loss for challengers. Herd liked the tag title match at Starrcade so much he decided to run it back! Appreciate the updated schedule.

Last minute addition to the trade with WCW, WWF sends Bob Orton for Black Bart. WWF also signs Bad News Brown, Vic Steamboat and Alex Porteau which should put me at 65 exactly,
-
Johnson makes his first contribution to the UWF's highlight reel. Flynn debuts with win. Benoit puts on a game effort against Shamrock. Loved the spot in Vader's match where he realizes "oh yeah I'm stronger than this dude." Speaking of Vader, can't wait to see him take on Maeda in the next round.

Fair enough!

I think you need to read that one again.

As first revealed on NBC and expanded upon in the December edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Vince McMahon has reached an agreement with HBO for a two hour weekly series called WWF Prime Time. The show has been described as "an all encompassing recap show designed to keep fans up to date on all the major happenings in the World Wrestling Federation." While the new show won't have any original matches, it will contain matches first seen on other WWF programming as well as never before seen (to most fans) matches recorded on the various live events or "house shows" as their called in the industry. Titan Sports -the WWF's parent company- has also released a schedule of the year 1990. TV shows. WWF Raw is War -syndicated, originally airing on Monday 9pm. WWF Prime Time Tuesday 8pm on HBO. WWF Wrestling Challenge -syndicated, airtime varies by market. TV Specials and Pay Per Views. January 1990- Saurday Night's Main Event 1/4 - Royal Rumble -PPV 1/19 February- March 1990 - Saturday Night's Main Event in early March April 1990- WrestleMania VI -PPV May 1990- Saturday Night's Main Event in mid May. June- July 1990- King of the Ring -PPV August 1990- SummerSlam -PPV September- October 1990- Saturday Night's Main Event in mid Oct. November 1990 - Survivor Series -PPV December- Non-kayfabe author's note: I'll be taking a hiatus for the rest of December but I wanted to go ahead and set this thread up. I'll be using some of this time to watch as much 1990 WWF to make sure I have a feel for how to structure shows going forward. The SNME on Jan 4 will be the official start of my version of the WWF. Hope to see you there.

Survivor Series. What an image with Zeus wrecking the enemy team allowing Martel to score three eliminations. But he couldn't overcome the British Bulldog. Bravo and Quake win it for Canada! Mutant proves himself the MVP of the Dangerous Alliance. Chilling finish as Jake sicks his name on Rhodes. Heenan's tricks couldn't halt the march of the Warrior. A pair of loaded house shows put a bow on a stellar run with the WWF. Looking forward to seeing you return to WCW.
