When Elizabeth tried to pull him down he instead pulled her up the stairs by her throat! Savage bolted across the ring and nailed Jones with a right hand sending the manager to the floor, then after checking on his valet, he went to the floor to pursue Jones. Borne followed to save his manager & they ended up brawling up the aisle.

"Dandy" Don Bass defeats Earthquake Ferris after loading something into his elbowpad & hitting Ferris with it. The Outlaws (Ron Bass & Black Bart) w/"Number One" Paul Jones vs The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jagers & Dutch Mantel) ended in a double DQ. "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff defeats Chris Youngblood with the "Russian Sickle" (The main event was promoted as the Road Warriors & a partner of their choosing vs the Horsemen trio of Tully Blanchard & the Andersons. Most of the competitors are in the ring waiting for the RW's partner. As the wait drags on the Horsemen begin taunting the Warriors for not being able to find anyone. Just as Tommy Young is about to make a decision, unfamiliar music blares over the pa system and everyone turns to the entrance way. A variety of reactions follow...the crowd ERUPTS in applause, Ellering looks like the cat that ate the canary, Dillon, Blanchard & Arn are in shock, but the most powerful reaction is from Ole...face contorted in RAGE...turning a almost startling shade of red... as DUSTY RHODES makes his way into the ring. He's no sooner through the ropes before a livid Ole dashes across the ring and intercepts him. This rouses the others to action & the opening bell is nearly drown out as the crowd voices their excitement at the pier-six brawl brawl that breaks out) The debuting "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes & The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/"Precious" Paul Ellering defeat The Four Horsemen (Tully Blanchard & the Andersons) when Rhodes hits a "Bionic Elbow"/running elbowdrop combo on Arn.

  4. NWA announcannounces the return of Worldwide! When the then Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling returned from a six month hiatus in September of last year, it was announced that the promotion would be discontinuing its second TV show "Worldwide". Now after a corporate restructure & a decision to take the NWA brand as the companies own, the decision has been made to resurrect the discontinued program. Notably "Worldwide" will not be broadcast over the WTBS superstation but, like UWF's "Power Pro" it will be broadcast on syndication throughout the country. Also in an attempt to create a separate atmosphere from the NWA'S main show "Power Hour", each episode of"Worldwide" will be taped from the Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia. This is meant to make the show more cost effective & provide it with a more intimate feel. Furthermore, while each episode of "Power Hour" is taped individually, "Worldwide" will have episodes taped back-to-back.The first episode of "NWA Worldwide" air on Sunday February 19th. Is the NWA looking for a new home? It's no secret that WTBS head honcho Ted Turner is a huge wrestling fan. Over the past few years his superstation has hosted the TV content of four separate territories. Mid-South/UWF, Continental Championship Wrestling, the short lived Western States Wrestling & Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling/NWA. However WTBS, days as the go-to superstation for professional wrestling may be numbered. Ever since the sudden & very public collapse as a governing body late last year, as well as the sudden shutdown of CCW as it was on the verge of a rebrand, there have been reports of ever increasing friction between UWF president "Cowboy" Bill Watts and his successor as President of the NWA Jim Crockett Jr. For his part, Mr Turner is reportedly ordering his employees to treat the two companies as equally as possible, seemingly determined to keep both on his channel. Nevertheless, unsubstantiated rumors abound that the Crockett's have sent out feelers to rival superstations to see if any would be interested to get in on the pro wrestling craze. CBS, WGN, HBO & the USA network have all been brought up as possible destinations but so far NWA officials have refused to even address the rumors. We'll keep an eye on the situation in case anything develops.
  5. Gagne & Graham show promise as a team. I would've loved to see Sawyer powerslam Warlord. Lighting Strike building the momentum ahead of their big opportunity. Vin Man & The Rocket screw over Powerhouse. El Kabong strikes again! He may have needed help from a couple of friends but Dream Machine is headed to the pay window baybay! Morgan shows just what a beast he is by hanging Hayes with the chain. I agree with Bloomington, I'm amazed Hayes walked out on his own. Nothing guarantees ending a 80's wrestling show on a high note as a pair of proud Americans beating snobby foreigners.
  6. I don't care that he lost, I'm just glad to see Cactus Jack. Bang Bang! St Clair outbattles the Bull! Steel gets a big win over Chavo Classic. The Gantner Brothers break even as Ed beats the General. Backlund must've been proud watching his "son" go twenty minutes with Hart. Badd Company prove to be even harder than British Steel as they retain the Golden State Titles. A Big Bubba botch gives the Odd Couple a submission win over the Tag Champs. That will be fun.
  7. Colon vs Snuka in a Caribbean Death Match! Yes! Gagne & Jarrett are filling out their teams nicely. Liking the contrast of "pure" wrestlers vs power guys. The Syndicate just signed a couple of Studs! Looking forward to Top Dollar Phil's debut at Big Brawl. Rich naming the battle royal after himself is so petty, i love it. Mad Dog vs Wildfire for the World Title! Let's get nuts!
  8. From the Cumberland County Memorial Auditorium in Fayetteville NC it's... NWA POWER HOUR! Previously Recorded/Airing 1/21/87 On Commentary: Bob Caudle & Tony Schiavone Ring Announcer: David Crockett (The NWA opening video slams on screen with quick clips of the top stars set to "Rock Warrior" by The Rods. We close on a shot of NWA World Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard before cutting to Caudle & Schiavone at ringside) BC:Wrestling fans welcome to another episode of NWA Power Hour, professional wrestling's most exciting hour. I'm Bob Caudle alongside Tony Schiavone and Tony we've got quite the episode in store. TS:That we do Bob. Fans the NWA is dedicated to bringing in all the best talent from around the country in 1987 & tonights episode is full of new faces especially in our main event where we'll see the much anticipated debut of the one they call "Megaman" Tom Magee! BC:Not only that fans but later this broadcast we'll announce the venue for "St Valentines Day Massacre" where we'll crown new NWA World Six Man Tag Team Champions! But enough about the future, let's send it to the ring for our opening contest. Match #1 "Shooting Star" Keiichi Yamada defeats Scorpion with a crowd stunning move Schiavone informed the people at home was called the "Shooting Star Press" Commercial-Bob Caudle runs down the NWA house shows for the coming week. Match #2 The debuting S&S Express (Joe Savoldi & Shaun Simpson) defeat Cruel Connection (1&2) when Savoldi performed a Gordbuster on Simpson dropping him on top of CC#2 for the win. (A video plays hyping "St Valentines Day Massacre" placing emphasis on the upcoming tournament. However the part that most stands out is that the closing graphic reads that the event will be broadcast from the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, Alabama! Caudle & Schiavone hype the announcement before sending us to the next match) Match #3 Big Daddy Ritter defeats Bob Aken with a powerslam. Shaska Whatley joins Commentary for the match and declares that with Ritter on their side, Brutha's in Arms are guaranteed to be the new Six Man Tag Champs. Commercial break (Caudle & Schiavone discuss the series of draws Steve Wright & Mark Fleming have had on the house show loop. They announce that NWA officials have decreed the two will meet one more time at "St Valentines Day Massacre" but this time with NO TIME LIMIT! Caudle & Schiavone hype the fact that come Huntsville, there'll be no question who the superior wrestler truly is) Match #4 The debuting Brickhouse Brown defeats Executioner by countering a backdrop attempt into a spinning neckbreaker. Commercial break (We see yet more footage of Stan Hansen just beating the dogshit out of people set to low ominous music. As usual the video ends with a Lariat montage with a graphic reading "Stan Hansen arrives...next week!" Caudle & Schiavone nervously hype the impending arrival which they say spells trouble for the entire locker room. Switching gears they announce its time for the hotly anticipated debut of "Megaman"!) Main event The debuting Tom "Megaman" Magee defeats "Gorgeous" Gary Royal with a slingshot legdrop.
  9. Black Tiger definitely has a claim on a title match after the opener. Between Konnan's lucha libre & Sabu being Sabu, I think they could have had a crazy match. Victory's new "Venomous" streak pays off. It takes more than a few impressive karate moves to defeat the lord of the wasteland! Texas Red returns with a new look, some new moves & a seemingly better (if not necessarily friendlier) disposition and it carries his team to victory. TNT may have blown this chance at the title but I got a feeling he'll have another opportunity sooner or later.
  10. WCPW arrives with a bang. Nice twist on the one night tournament formula. Budro & Idol together sounds like heel magic and will Idol as the champ they're going to be just gloriously obnoxious. Glad to see the Moondogs will be presented as the dangerous duo they were. I was excited to see Spivey & Kabuki go at. After what happened in that parking lot, Spivey must've loved this win. Nasty Boys vs Rockers will be a fun feud to get your tag division going.
  11. I've always loved these dirt sheets you do. It's a great way to advance your storylines without having to write 6 shows. I chuckled when everyone was distracted by Missy's "assets" Watts has Brody arrested for trespassing! Suddenly Ladd's "he works for me not you" idea doesn't seem so smart. Freebirds being Freebirds. The clash with RnR will crush it. Roberts achieves his first objective in his war with the Shiek's army with a victory over Ayala. Whoever "He" is, if Sullivan's using him to scare VADER, it's safest for everyone if Vader starts meeting Sullivans expectations. Brad's reign as tv champ continues. Demolition vs MVC is the kind of tag team slobberknocker I'd love to see. Cox may be biting off more than he can chew messing with Herc. Lawler looks to get back on track by beating Reed for another title but Reed reminds him he didn't do it on his own last time. Also, couldn't help but notice UWF took a trip to Alabama. Maybe the NWA should take a trip of its own.
  12. NWA releases Ben Bassarab & signs Joe Savoldi.
  13. NWA puts Gary Royal on the block.
  14. NWA sends Jeff Gaylord & Paul Roma to Florida for Brickhouse Brown & Shaun Simpson.
  15. Tenta impresses in his debut. Maxx is really bringing the Payne with that armbar. I've long thought that a suplex/crossbody would make a great doubleteam move but nobody ever seems to use it. The Rainbow Warriors pull it off nicely. I'm calling it now, Rose payed off Grizzly. The big man will make an effective roadblock if nothing else. It's a time of rebirth for the Brigade as Brown, Hall, McGee & Rotundo all seek new challenges elsewhere while Konnan & Henning arrive to inject new life. Burke taps out Hito in a battle of PCW's elder statesmen. I like the emphasis your putting on submissions. Dingo Warrior squashes another goober & has another manager with their eye on him. Backlund gives young Blackman some shine but the nobody escapes the Chickenwing.
  16. Singh may not have recaptured the TV Title but at least she & Bennett are the reasons Richter is a thriple champion! There's a heated tag feud on the horizon. I wonder if Morgan noticed that Simmes said SHE'LL be a tag champ & not THEY'LL be tag champs.
  17. What a fun twist on the rumble! Didn't expect the Rockers to win it but I'm proud of them. That's quite the top four. Anyone of them could take it all!
  18. NWA Live @ Flora County Civic Center in Greenwood SC 1/19/86 Fire & Flame vs The Gladiators (1&2) ended in a 10 minute time limit draw. "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi defeats "Black Bullet" Shaska Whatley with a jumping headbutt. "Young Pistol" Steve Armstrong defeats defeats "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers with a Missle Dropkick. The Red Tide (Ivan Koloff & Vladimir Petrov) defeat Spartanburg Vice with they hit Bryant with a bearhug/"Russian Sickle" combo. "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel defeats Baron Von Raschke w/"Number One" Paul Jones with a Tomahawk Chop. The Outlaws (Ron Bass & Black Bart) w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeat The Road Warriors w/"Precious" Paul Ellering when Bart hit Hawk with a roll of quarters passed to him by Jones.
  19. NWA Live @ Asheville Civic Center in Asheville NC 1/18/87 The War Party (Billy Two Eagles & Joe Lightfoot) defeat Mitch Snow & Dusty Wolfe when Lightfoot made Wolfe submit to the Indian Death Lock. "The Electrifying" Ben Bassarab defeats "Pretty" Paul Roma with a Flying Bodypress. Earthquake Ferris defeats Tiger Conway Jr with a big splash. NWA World Television Title "British Magician" Steve Wright(c) vs "The Natural" Mark Fleming ends in a 20 minute time limit draw. NWA United States Tag Team Titles The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood)(c) fought The Commonwealth (George Barnes & Jonathan Boyd) w/JR Foley to a double c.o. NWA United States Title "Macho Man" Randy Savage(c) w/Ms Elizabeth defeats "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala w/JR Foley & Friday by dq when Kamala went into a frenzy & chopped referee Randy Anderson.
  20. NWA Live @ "Old" Charlotte Coluseam in Charlotte NC 1/17/87 Road Warrior Animal wins a 20 man battle royal last eliminating Ivan Koloff. Animal will now challenge for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in the main event. Spartanburg Vice (Jerry Bryant & Lou Winston) defeat Rock n Roll Phantoms (1&2) with the "Spartanburg Special" on Phantom #2. The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jagers & Dutch Mantel) defeat Brutha's in Arms (Shaska Whatley & Tiger Conway Jr) by dq when Big Daddy Ritter stormed the ring and attacked the Jayhawks. 3-2 beatdown until Bill Irwin arrived to even the odds leading to... Brutha's in Arms (Shaska Whatley, Tiger Conway Jr & Big Daddy Ritter) defeat The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jagers & Dutch Mantel) & "Wild" Bill Irwin when Ritter pinned Irwin with a powerslam. The following match was promoted as JR Foley debuting the newest member of The Commonwealth. The debuting "Superstar" Bill Dundee w/JR Foley defeats El Santo Negro with "Bombs Away" "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeats "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff with a three point stance clothesline. NWA World Tag Team Titles The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson)(c) w/JJ Dillon defeat The Southern Boys (Tracy Smothers & Steve Armstrong) when JJ tripped Armstrong sending him into a Spinebuster from Arn. NWA World Heavyweight Title Road Warrior Animal w/"Precious" Paul Ellering defeat Tully Blanchard(c) w/JJ Dillon by dq when Blanchard lowblowed Animal in clear view of referee Theodore Long. Massive heat when the ring announcer pointed out that Blanchard was still champion.
  21. NWA Live @ Municipal Auditorium in Columbus GA 1/16/87 "Crippler" Ray Stevens defeats "Tough" Tony Falk with the "Powerdriver". Mick Foley defeats George South with a mulekick. "The Russian Assassin" Vladimir Petrov defeats Rocky King with a bearhug. The following contest was advertised as The Hangmen vs Somers & Del Ray of Radiance. However Jagers came out & informed the crowd that Dirty Rhodes had to return home due to a family matter. He said that The Hangmen had taken their last ride for the foreseeable future...but that THE KANSAS JAYHAWKS WOULD RIDE AGAIN! With that "Dirty" Dutch Mantel ran down and joined Jagers for... The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jagers & Dutch Mantel) defeat Radiance (Doug Somers & Jimmy Del Ray) when Mantell pinned Somers with the "Tennessee Chainsaw" "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala w/JR Foley & Friday defeats "The Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord will "Air Africa" following a distraction from Foley. Big Daddy Ritter defeats "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi with a powerslam. NWA United States Tag Team Titles The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood)(c) defeat The Outlaws (Ron Bass & Black Bart) w/"Number One" Paul Jones by dq when referee Tommy Young caught Bart hitting Mark with one of the title belts.
  22. Smiley & Peterson each pick up a solid win. Perez may have impressed the fans but pissing off Gama doesn't tend to end well. I recently called the RPM's the stupidest men in wrestling & they seem determined to prove me right by starting something with Cabin Fever. Dream Machine with that damn loaded headbutt. Haynes & Morgan can't be bothered following the rules. Zybyszko & Perez are seriously in sync. Gonna make it that much harder for anyone to get those belts off. Iceman is gone dealing a sharp blow to the Syndicate! How will Kirby & co respond?
  23. Brookside gets mauled by Grizzly in the opener. Double J scores the submission victory over Eddie. Candido retains against a game Barr. Finlay showing respect to a brit after a loss would have me checking for flying pigs. Black Gold's vein comes up empty. Snow comes up short in his quest to bring more gold to the Knight Templars. Bubba wins a slugfest over Regal. It's gonna be war getting that belt off him.
  24. From the Township Auditorium in Columbia SC it's..... NWA POWER HOUR! (In place of the usual opening video we see a disclaimer saying that "the following video contains violent imagery that may not be suitable for all audiences. Viewer discretion is advised". We then cut to what appears to be security footage from a parking lot. Dan Spivey is seen putting his bags in the trunk of a car. Just as he's about to close it, The Great Kabuki runs in from offscreen and nails Spivey with an axehandle before repeatedly slamming the trunk down on top of Spivey. Eventually Spivey slumps to the ground where Kabuki leans him against the car and blasts him with a series of kicks to the chest. A pair of passersby see the assault and move to intervene but Kabuki sees them coming and sprays the first with the "Asian mist". When the second goes to check on his friend, Kabuki drills him with the Thrust kick. By the time Kabuki is able to return to Spivey he has crawled to the driver's side and seems to be trying to enter the car. Kabuki stops him however and after a few qui shots, pulls Spivey back a couple paces & RAMS HIS HEAD THROUGH THE WINDOW! As Spivey collapses to the floor another larger group arrive, finally forcing Kabuki to retreat. We then cut to a somber Caudle & Schiavone at ringside) BC: Wrestling fans welcome to another episode of NWA Power Hour, professional wrestling's most exciting hour. I'm Bob Caudle alongside Tony Schiavone and as you've just seen Dan Spivey was the victim of a absolutely heinous assault by The Great Kabuki. TS: Heinous is right Bob. We can report that Spivey suffered damage to his ribs and spine as well as severe lacerations in the face. Spivey is expected to be out of action for a number of months. We here at the NWA wish him a full & speedy recovery. We can also (Schiavone is cut off by thunderous boos from the crowd as Paul Jones & Baron Von Raschke make their way to ringside) PJ: Schiavone nobody cares about what happened to that bleach blonde buffoon. Why don't you tell everyone about the abuse of power committed against my man Kabuki. TS: I was just getting to that actually. Fans as a result of his disgusting actions Kabuki was suspended for a whole year (huge pop) PJ: A whole year! And for what? Because he played to rough with poor widdle Spivey? What a joke! You'd think a guy who walks around calling himself "Dangerous" would know how to handle himself. Well Kabuki & I discussed it and we agreed we weren't going to give the corrupt officials here in the NWA the satisfaction of denying him the opportunity to work for a living which is why we arranged for his contract to be sold to a company out in Chicago. Thankfully like all great leaders i ALWAYS have a contingency plan in place and you're looking at him. That's right folks your eyes do not deceive you that is Baron Von Raschke, my former World Tag Team Title partner, a man I know I can trust to do whatever the Army needs him to do to secure victory. Baron, I believe a demonstration is in order! (The Baron gives a sharp nod, removes his robe and enters the ring) Match #1 Baron Von Raschke w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats The Intern with the Claw. Commercial-Bob Caudle runs down the coming NWA house shows for the coming week. Match #2 El Santo Negro defeats Dusty Wolfe with a Missle Dropkick. (Another hype video of Stan Hansen plays putting emphasis on his stiff strikes and aggressive nature. The video ends with a quick montage of Hansen hitting his infamous Lariat before closing on a graphic reading "Stan Hansen.... coming soon") (Caudle & Schiavone hype the news from previous week regarding the announcement of "St Valentines Day Massacre" and the tournament to crown new NWA World Six Man Tag Team Champions. They say that a rush had begun among the roster to assemble the best 3 man teams possible, including in some cases groups that already have 3 members launching a recruitment drive. Case in point, the next bout features Doug Somers teaming with the newest member of Radiance) Match #3 Radiance (Doug Somers & Jimmy Del Ray) defeat The Gladiators (1&2) with a double flapjack to Gladiator #1. Commercial break (We see clips from recent NWA house shows of The Koloffs being joined by a bald muscular man who help them win matches & beatdown various talent. We then cut to Ivan & the mystery man joining Schiavone at ringside) TS: Welcome back fans and as you can see The Koloffs have a new partner. Ivan what can you tell us about this man? IK: First of all Tony Schiavone Ivan wishes to make something clear. We Koloffs try to help our comrade Ustinov reach his potential, try to show him how to bring glory to motherland like we do but he fail us at every turn! You watch footage and you see match after match it is Ustinov to takes pin costing us the match. Then at "Christmas Chaos" he make biggest mistake of his life when he cost Nikita United States of America Championship. We could take no more! And Kremlin agree with us, they take comrade Ustinov home for retraining and in his place they send newest weapon in arsenal of Mother Russia. Allow Ivan please of introducing...Vladimir Petrov! He has been placed under my tutelage and together we shall take NWA World Six Man Tag Team Titles back home Soviet Union! Comrade Petrov, show these pitiful Americans the power of Mother Russia! VP: Da Comrade Ivan! (Petrov enters the ring) Match #4 "The Russian Assassin" Vladimir Petrov defeats George South with a "Russian Bearhug" which Ivan on commentary insists is superior to the American bearhug, though he doesn't really explain how. Commercial break (Another hype video for the muscular man plays putting even greater emphasis on his high flying abilities intercut with fans cheering in amazement. The video ends on a still shot of him posing with the caption "Megaman is coming") (Caudle & Schiavone hype the flux of new talent coming to the NWA including our main event featuring the arrival of "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan!) Main event "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeats "Dandy" Don Bass with a Three Point Stance Clothesline.
  25. Konnan is quickly becoming PCW's resident tapout artist. Though Maxx Payne is certainly pulling his weight in that regard. Sabu brought the fight but he wasn't ready to ride the Tiger! Niedhart suffers the consequences of he & Bret parting ways with GHI courtesy of OMG. Tenta earns his keep by helping his new friends run off the Playboy Club. Badd Company capture Golden State gold thanks to McGee's bad ribs & their new manager Gary Hart! With all distractions finally removed, Windham & Bret have the mat classic we were all expecting. Windham retains but Hart definitely proves he belongs. Great night in the Cow Palace!
