Forbidden Door seems weird but I think it was always going to end up being a weird show based on the depth imbalance between the companies. It will be some real shit if Okada and Bryan aren't on the show. Bryan is injured but ZSJ did challenge him for the show so I have to think that wouldn't have happened if Bryan wasn't going to be ready by then. Okada skipping seems much weirder. There's still a week and a half to fill out the card and presumably half the show won't have any angles or storylines heading into it, so just putting cool matches together with what remains of each roster shouldn't be that hard. On the other hand, consider how NJ usually handles joint shows in Japan. Forbidden Door could be eight six/eight man tags.

It'd be truly incredible if Steph left because of this and HHH leaked the story. However, something like this has come up about Vince every few years for like 40 years now, and while the culture and atmosphere is different now, I'm pretty confident nothing will come out of it for Vince.

I think the main complaint about the booking is that there have only been a handful of actual storylines going on, one of them is bad and no one likes it, and an overreliance on tournaments and gimmick matches. Most shows in the past month or two straight up feel like EWR auto generated card. TK is clearly spread too thin and needs some help with booking and creative. You can only do the lights out ECW surprise debut and random international stars with no angles or storylines like 1997 Nitro so many times. I don't think it has anything to do with Dynamite not overtaking Raw in TV ratings.

I think if we're being fair, that applies to all but like maybe 5 people on TV in American pro wrestling in 2022.

They're really not too much anymore. The FCC doesn't really have any say over content on cable. In theory, they could have aired MJF screaming "fucking" without any issue, much like they didn't bleep it out when Moxley said it. It's usually down to sponsors and not wanting to get complaints, but plenty of shows on regular cable say all kinds of words that would have been relegated strictly to subscription channels 15 years ago. Most of the networks doing spooky movies for Halloween season just blur out nudity but otherwise leave everything intact. And they could air the nudity if they wanted to.
