WrestleMania Weekend - Everything but Mania
goodhelmet replied to goodhelmet's topic in Pro Wrestling
So the WWN shows & the Hall of Fame are the only shows we can watch live? ROH & NXT shows not being shown live? -
Can somebody make a comprehensive list and times of the shows taking place this weekend? If you know the card, that would be a bonus. I want to prioritize the shows I choose to pay for and there is usually so much going on, I'll forget about half of them.

I will kick your leg out from under your leg. I will burn you alive and force you to wear a mask I will slam the door on your head as you walk out of the cage I will throw hair cream into your eyes so you can't see your kid being born I will slash all 4 of your tires I am not Johnny Sorrow. Not old enough to be your daddy but you can call me daddy.
-
That person should be you.
-
Bullshit. It's on. You can't talk trash and run away.
-
Alright... book it Johnny! Me and Bigelow34 JR on a future Brainbuster. I'll work around JR's schedule.
-
Yeah, my point wasn't that Fujinami was a bigger star than Savage but that when you take into account his wrestling and his case as a draw on top, he is the easiest guy on the list.

OK, the Live WrestleMania thread will be huge so I want to separate the predictions from the live thoughts. All matches are in and I have no idea what is going to happen since my booking philosophy is the complete antithesis to what WWE bookers tend to do about 90% of the time. Cesaro & Kidd vs. Usos vs. Matadores vs. New Day - New Day & Matadores feel non-important and I don't think they will be there for anything except highspots. Prediction: Cesaro & Kidd Wishful Thinking: Cesaro & Kidd AJ Lee & Paige vs. The Bella Twins Prediction: Bella Twins Wishful Thinking: Bella Twins Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Luke Harper vs. Wade Barrett vs. Stardust vs. R-Truth vs. Dean Ambrose Prediction:Dean Ambrose Wishful Thinking: Daniel Bryan (and the rebuilding of the IC Champ who doesn't lose every match on TV) Andre Battle Royal Prediction: If Sheamus returns, he win it: If not, Big Show Wishful Thinking: Mark Henry John Cena vs. Rusev Prediction: John Cena Wishful Thinking: Rusev (and the road to unifying the IC & US belt with Bryan) Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton Prediction: Seth Rollins Wishful Thinking: Seth Rollins Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt Prediction: Undertaker Wishful Thinking: Bray Wyatt (Taker never wrestles again) HHH vs. Sting Prediction: HHH Wishful Thinking: Sting Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns Prediction: Roman Reigns (with Rock, Stone Cold, Hogan, Bret Hart, HBK, Undertaker, Kevin Nash, Ric Flair and Bruno Sammartino all celebrating with him in the middle of the ring to let everyone know he earned his spot Wishful Thinking: Brock Lesnar.

You are right about the age argument to an extent. I went to the well one too many times with that one. Really, it is about exposure to wrestling, not age but I was kind of shell shocked by the opinions being presented and wasn't prepared to go against pro-Russo thinking. If WWE or the Monday Night Wars is the only wrestling you have been exposed to or all that matters in your world, maybe you do believe that Sting has all of these legendary matches in the can. Maybe you do believe that HHH is a ring general. Maybe you believe the Bushwhackers are a worldwide phenomenon that were in the bush leagues before hitting the big time. Not one person on the show responded when I told them they needed to seek out old Fujinami. On this board, or on a show with my crew, I can do entire shows on Fujinami and nobody would blink an eye. It's good to venture out and I like talking to Scott so no sweat off my back. The age response for the point I disagree with is the idea that wins and losses don't matter. This is a pro-Russo viewpoint that really has only been in vogue in the internet era. I haven't seen anybody, save for maybe Johnny Sorrow, over the age of 35 ever say that wins and losses don't matter. The other exceptions would be people that were in the business and use it as an excuse for bad booking.

I love the contrast between Dana White who sounded sincere and Vince McMahon who always sounds completely full of shit. Not saying Dana can't be full of shit... only that he sounded sincere.
-
It will be fun to watch at the very least. With those guys locked up, redragon locked in and no AJ or Joe, what singles match can we look forward to, shoe?
-
The faceoff sucked but... Brock is definitely the overwhelming face on Sunday That Heyman promo ruled.
-
OK, Round 2 of your WrestleMania enthusiasm. I will admit, I am more excited for the card than I was two weeks ago. Still, not super enthused but I think Rusev-Cena will be great and I am intrigued with the Brock match. Paul Heyman talked me into it. The ladder match could be MITB fun if they give it 15-20 minutes. I don't think the crowd will be a factor at all as they have completely neutered Bryan and he is just another schmuck. Brock may be the overwhelming babyface though so there is that. Matches I will pay attention to... Intercontinental Ladder Match Andre Battle Royal Rollins vs. Orton Cena vs. Rusev Lesnar vs. Reigns Matches I don't give a shit about... Undertaker vs. Wyatt Sting vs. HHH Tag Title Match Divas Tag

I stopped listening to him ages ago
-
As great as Rusev is, the opposite is true of Bray Wyatt.
-
Rusev is the man. Nobody else is even close.
-
You should be excited. Being in the arena for a WrestlMania is something a wrestling fan should experience even if the booking is shit.
-
Maybe... it isn't that clear when you look at world title contenders/challengers one year (not actual main events) and their place the next year.
-
They have no imagination or creativity on the production side. One trick pony.

I just tied it back with Eaton. I think Eaton is such a great tag worker and was always the best guy on his team even if his role changed on the team. Add the face/heel thing and I had to go Bobby but it was razor thin close.
