Loved the Meltzer interview with Jerry Jarrett when they were talking about TNA. Jerry said his biggest problem when it came to TNA is that "He loved his son too much". That is why he allowed Russo to come in or sink money into a pit when it wasn't the right thing to do for business.

Yeah, I think he is a great wrestler who does annoying shit. I wish he had better punches. I wish he wouldn't act like a bitch in the ring to show up his opponents (although it does add to his legend). Also, while I can admit he had a great career, I wouldn't call him a favorite. I go out of my way to watch Regal or Lawler matches. I do not go out of my way to watch HBK matches.

Fuck man, I don't know. I can tell you a story about a friend of mine though. My buddy made me the godfather of his son about 12 years ago. I have since had a change of religious belief. His wife is pissed and claims I shouldn't be the godfather, etc. However, i have always been a pretty good godfather, never preached or insulted their faith publicly and live a pretty clean lifestyle and always been there for the kid. My friend's wife on the other hand... had a kid before marriage, got married, divorced my buddy, got married again, got pregnant, had a fucking abortion, remarried my buddy and she's pissed because I am not following god's path. I am thinking about this guy. Nothing about this guy screams future world champ to me. I don't know if I said he was short... maybe I did... definitely shorter than Hogan and those guys. Did Flair come off like a future World Champ during his first few months of matches in AWA? Serious question. Agree with Loss. Probably not. But I don't think it was until Wahoo really got behind Flair when he went to Mid Atlantic that he was being touted as the next big thing. Our argument wasn't that Shawn couldn't be a world champion but that there was nothing in his ring work, look, promos, etc. that would indicate he had the chance, especially in the Mid South run. It is more of a criticism of Dibiase being full of shit than of Shawn. It reminds me of Hall and Nash claiming that the WCW guy they were always watching was Terra Ryzing. Are you fucking kidding me?

I agree that Hart-Michaels-Austin was bigger and better but the Lawler-ECW feud was spread across three different promotions and really had a unique feel to it.

I don't think anyone hates the SD6. The key in re-examining the era is to see if the matches hold up. Someone else asked if they were as good as the matches we are getting today on free TV.

2002 was off to a rough start after Mania. Questionable booking, bad main events, lame stories... the SD Six seemed like a breath of fresh air at the time. I was really engaged in the product in 2001 (not surprisingly when HHH was out for 2/3 of the year). Not so much in 2002.

How can they discuss it if they haven't seen it? How do you know they haven't seen it? I admit I don't watch a ton of TNA, but I've still seen several Angle matches from this year. If we looked at his post-WWE career I've seen a ton of Angle matches, including many praised ones, the vast majority of which I strongly disliked. Dylan, will you at least explain why you don't like them?
