    I mentioned this show in Bix's greatest cons thread, after Nash's story about Bischoff freaking out when JR said that he was bringing Diesel and Razor back, and giving them huge raises to sign iron clad contracts.

    I'd rate this below their Carnival matches from '93 and '95 (although I'd have to have another sit down with former), but this is a worthy addition to the Kawada vs. Taue cannon. Taue pulling out a tope suicida shocked the hell out of me, and I loved the spot where Taue charged himself right into the ganmengiri. Taue had some good shots here, but once they started teaming up and Taue started following Kawada's lead and was just wanting to beat the piss out of people, he got exponentially better.

    I also like the Shawn/Sherri pairing, it worked for what it was, which was giving Shawn a little more heat and credibility. This was a fun little 10 minute TV match, which let Shawn do what he does best, bounce like a pinball. I liked the revisionist history on commentary, where Piper KO'd Mr. T at 'Mania II. I loved the booking too, Hart tries to help and only makes things worse.

    Nothing really special here, these pale in comparison to the WWF Update. Although the bit where a fan can submit a question is a good idea.

    Here's a great example where everything just clicks. Steamboat and Anderson mesh together perfectly, it's an easy angle of Anderson being Rude's policeman, and you've got the hot angle with Rude at the end.

    Cornette lays it on nice and thick, comparing his team to Madonna and the Beatles. And it's Phil Rainey's fault for leaking the location so he could leach off the girls.

    It's weird seeing Bob Holly like this, given how much of a total disconnect it is from the real person. The bit about why do all the work to win the tournament when he can just beat the champion in one night is a nice touch though.

    I liked the little background on Horner's career, but thought the singing stuff was goofy.

    The lumberjack jobbers was a brilliant twist for this match. It's more the usual awesomeness of this feud. It sort of cuts off abruptly, I'm guessing that Morell DQ'd Lawler for the piledriver.

    I'd have liked to see this bad boy in full, Embry is juicing like crazy and DWB is ready to kill.

    I can't get enough of Sid's theme music. I got a kick out of Sid getting in Gene's face, twice. But I coulda done without the goofy "Hokemania" stuff.

    Shoe, you described WWF Flair perfectly here, he's definitely Flair, but not the Flair we're accustomed to. The empty auditorium is priceless. I'm surprised that we haven't seen any sort of segment on RAW like that.

    I had to turn up the volume quite a bit, but it was worth it for the Piper promo. "I've dealt with bullies like you, Justice! I've dealt with sissies like you, Flair! I just needed a MAN in my corner!" This wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything surprising to me, aside from the legdrop not being the finish. Flair does the heavy lifting and eats the pin in the end. Hogan and Sid heat up their 'Mania match.

    The "Herd" bit cracked me up. All these segments really make Jim's new team seem like a huge deal, and they were.

    Wow, this was a great video package. It really made these two seem like a big deal. I've seen almost all of the SMW TV from this year and I don't remember these two in the least. This would make you think they'd give you something to remember them by. EDIT: Looks like they're only appearance was dropping a match to the Fulton Bros in the tag title tournament.

    Christopher looks like a dead ringer for his father. Was it not well known before Heyman let the cat out of the bag? Valiant looks like he's 70 years old, but he's got some charisma. This was an interesting, but fun, inclusion on the set.

    How topical was Dahmer in 1992? That doesn't seem all that far removed from AW's Kobe Bryant reference.

    Loss said it best, this is right out of an Austin/McMahon angle from a 1998 RAW. The only thing that could have made this better would be the ref ringing the bell on a headlock and saying that Eddie quit.

    Prichard is totally doing his Brother Love voice. I half expected him to finish with "I Loooooooove You!"

    I know it killed the crowd, but I actually found Kobashi's headlock work to be quite engrossing. When Kawada is in control, he's in total control, almost treating Kobashi like a rookie, and laying the groundwork for the following year when they'd be on opposite sides. Kobashi takes the beating and dishes it out pretty good himself, and it's Kawada so you can only imagine how well he puts it over, but Kobashi was a few years away from being a genuine threat to him.

    This was just what I needed to wash away the memories of the Kaki/Silver match. It's one third the length and eons more appealing. It was funny watching Fujiwara play despicable foreign heel, all that was missing was throwing a handful of salt into Vale's eyes.

    I really liked how each fall had its own identity. The first fall was pretty much a sprint, and showcased how necessary Aja was for her team's success. Aja most stayed out of things, and as a result her team lost the first fall. The second fall was Aja asserting her dominance in the match by bringing all kinds of pain and punishment to Toyota and Yamada. Aja pretty much wins the fall by herself, all Bison really has to do is keep Toyota at bay. In the last fall, it seemed like everyone was starting to run out of gas (no surprise with the pace they were working), so it's quite a bit slower, but it features a hot finish run with Toyota and Yamada making their comeback and Aja being as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar. They throw everything they have at Aja but can't keep her down, it winds up taking a double backdrop off the top, by them both, to finally put her away.

    The last five to seven minutes were a good change of pace, but I wasn't into this at all. Neither was especially flashy like Tamura can be, or showed the personality of Anjoh. It'd have been just as easy for them to go 10-12 as it was to go 30.
