You're probably right. Just feels like Seth's been battling the fans for much longer than the Fiend program, but its for various different reasons each time. Fans boo him for being a geek and dating Becky Lynch, they boo him for his twitter antics with NJPW/AEW wrestlers, and so on. Feels like the only time he got anything close to positive reactions was in a feud with Baron Corbin, and the fans' investment in that feud was still rather lackadaisical. Not that I mind though, he deserves all what he gets.

Perhaps not booing him every time he is up against a heel fans prefer?

WWE Presents Crown Jewel: Halloween Pumpkin Spice Edition
Slasher replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Yeah it wouldn't have looked good either if they had Cain turn the tide against an ambushing Lesnar. They are meant to be portrayed as somewhat equals for the match to work. You win some, and you lose some. -
Considering Triple H wanted the letters to look "teethy", I can't imagine they would put that logo on anything else but a black colored shirt. Imagine the logo on a white or gray shirt? Wouldn't have been effective to make it look like a mouth. It being black is what makes the shirt "work". Of course racism is racism and I won't argue that it was a poorly thought out idea. And of course the WWE does not get the benefit of doubt here. And I am not blaming Myles for how he feels, but I mean, when they presented the logo idea, he should have realized where they were going with the idea.

She sucked in that movie I saw that starred Edge (Interrogation or something, I can't recall). Like she made Edge look much better in comparison. Although we know Heyman likes this sort of storyline, I wonder if this isn't the latest attempt by the WWE to try to break up Rusev/Lana. Remember, they were never behind the couple and have tried to break them up in the past, one notable example being the angle with Ziggler.

I just read Coffey's post and it reminded me to ask a question- why did Brandi Rhodes attack Jamie Hayter? It seemed out of nowhere. Did I miss a segment or something to set that up?

Baker was over in her hometown, but it seemed pretty obvious they were pandering to the crowd on her behalf. She wore a jacket with the Steelers logo (but with teeth) and doing the Brittsburgh deal. Is that sustainable? I don't think so, unless they want her going down the Mick Foley route of getting cheap pops. I guess how the next crowd with zero attachment to her reacts will tell the story on whether that worked or not. Compare that to someone like Riho who has actually roused every crowd that she performed in front of.

WWE Presents Crown Jewel: Halloween Pumpkin Spice Edition

I assume he is getting paid quite well for his participation in the WWE. He's gonna either be a main eventer or a special attraction. Anything else is just wasting that money they're paying him. -

Despite his credentials and despite the fact WWE has quite a few guys with less than ideal physiques, Cain looking the way he does is really bad. If you didn't see him fight in the UFC, there is nothing impressive about him coming out and staring down monster heels. Tyson Fury looks much better and more credible, and he's probably only doing one match. -

Multi year deal means nothing to me. They claimed that Ronda Rousey signed a multi year deal, and although its possible she'll return, she hasn't yet. Also, the sense I get is that Cain Velasquez would be happy working in the Mexican promotions, so if he found something he didn't like about the WWE, I can easily see him leave. -
WWE TV 10/14 - 10/20 Randy Orton is the Tom Brady of WWE

But if you know Brock, you know that was never going to happen. He didn't even let Ambrose have a decent match with him. But Kofi is? Yeah ok... -

People all over, here included, were tired of Kofi's reign by that point. Could they have gone about it differently? Of course, but it was never a surprise what did happen. So yeah if people who expected that needed their heads examined for actually paying attention to their habits, like I said, alright then... -

This is the company that had "TV execs" losing their shit after drafting Natalya. I can absolutely believe they think Alexa is a trade worth calling a "blockbuster". -
Fair enough. I guess the size of the other gals makes her look the way she does to me. And I agree she is better looking than pre surgery Chyna and heck even Nicole Bass.
-
My problem with Nyla is that while I recognize her as a woman and respect her decision, to me I can't shake the feeling that I am watching a "man" beat up women. Before people mention Chyna or Nicole Bass or whoever else, in my opinion Nyla looks more like a man than they did. I wish I could be more progressive than that, but nope.

But that's the draft. The NFL draft runs for three days, and by the third it's mostly scrubs. Listen, I understand what you are saying, but that's the draft. Best players go off the board first and then you work your way down. Drafting Heavy Machinery instead of Daniel Bryan or Seth Rollins makes zero sense in kayfabe. If they were concerned about running a show with drafting randos that no one cares about, then don't make it 5 hours long total. Do one show like a Network special where they reveal picks and stuff without it bleeding into the tv product.
-
Didn't see the show yet but did they explain why only a certain section of the roster is available to be drafted tonight? That just doesn't make any sense to me if they are going for a sports style draft. That's like telling Cleveland Browns they can't draft Baker Mayfield until Round 5 but they can take Sam Darnold first overall instead. No one does this in those sports.

I hated the whole WWE vs AEW thing going on with the fanbases, and that sort of colored my view of AEW. But I can't remember the last time I was actually looking forward to the next episode. Like Ricky says, they've got something good on their hands. Keep it up.

WWE TV 09/30 - 10/6 Posting quickly to avoid politics-inspired subtitles

Could Kofi have gotten in some offense? Sure but everyone was saying Kofi's time had come to an end, that his reign was a nothing one that is begging to be ended by this point. Everyone expected Brock to win. Realistically I don't think it would have mattered because now that he doesn't have the belt, I doubt Kofi is going to be a main eventer permanently moving forward. So you have this guy about to return to the upper midcard/tag team picture. And you are building to a major Brock angle with the Cain Velasquez stuff. I think in a vacuum this was the right move to make. But it is just the race stuff that people seem to be latching on to reject the plan WWE had, even though in reality they wanted the WWE to move on from Kofi anyways. Well now they did. So move on. -

For those complaining about Brock/Kofi, lemme ask a serious question- Wasn't it widely assumed, once the match was booked, that it would be the end of the line for Kofi's title reign? I mean everyone would agree that in canon Brock Lesnar is quite a few levels above Kofi, right? Didn't everyone cheer or pop when Brock squashed Cena at Summerslam? Or Brock himself being squashed in like a minute with like three moves by a 50 year old Bill Goldberg? Feels like because of their history with race relations, they don't get the benefit of doubt for that booking. I don't blame anyone for it but from this angle, the complaints seem kinda hypocritical to me. -

Because it definitely isn't possible for a guy to heal up after being away for over 5 years... -
Late to the party but to add to the Brandi discussion I want to point out that the comparison is apt because both women are not consistent with their characters. They swing wildly between being the babyface boss of a division and being a heel valet/part of the husband's act.

Maybe but he is addressing it by going to training, right?
-
I thought he meant texting etiquette in the context of being an executive and treating people like professional businessmen rather than the typical "dude!" type text language you can expect from those guys. Cody was relaying how he had to start going to management training because he didn't understand the kind of work involved in his position and had to learn everything on the fly. He was talking about contract tampering and stuff. Maybe bullying is part of what he was talking about but I'd doubt it.
