  1. What about Vegas?
  2. Yeah I don't recall him hiring a guy like Oliver Luck the first time around.
  3. Exactly. For all they are doing to make MJF, the fact remains it is difficult for me to buy MJF as a guy who should be beating Cody and the likes. For a future star, that's not great.
  4. I told some people Mahomes is my pick for future GOAT.
  5. That's not how it seems to be playing out at all but perhaps firing those execs were a step in that direction...
  6. AEW getting another show is a great idea IMO. Maybe this means they can actually feature everyone they want each week, whether its on Dynamite or the other show. This is what they need for the workers. They can't keep momentum the way things are now.
  7. I think Tana/Jericho will amount to a "home/home" series where the hometown guy wins their match. I would love it if Tana got the belt though for a PPV to PPV run.
  8. I hope it leads to Best and Beard reuniting too (seeing how Morrison vs Punk was an early ECW feud) to go after the Dirt Sheet. Mind you, not because I need Punk back or anything, but just to see Rollins melt down that Punk preferred working with someone else over him.
  9. I strongly disagree about pushing the Elite. Look, they are obviously top tier talents in their respective divisions but its not like those divisions are bereft of talent that you HAVE to put them in those spots. No you don't. Especially Omega who isn't actually clicking on the level he needs to be a credible threat in the spot proposed for him. Imagine a goof being their world champion? I mean goof goof, not an intentionally goofy heel like Jericho.
  10. Shonen Jump comics made into video games? Gotta get a piece of that action!
  11. Flex schedule only applies to Sunday Night football, but there is a concerted effort to get the predicted big games on MNF late in the season. They just have bad luck with predicted contenders falling flat on their faces by the time that game comes around. Last night was one of the rare ones that managed to stay this relevant this long.
  12. He made valid points? Like what? I thought he was either off base or nit picking on just about every thing he said.
  13. Dustin didn't seem to think so.
  14. I wouldn't panic. This was a regular ordinary episode of Dynamite vs a supercharged episode of NXT featuring two major title matches. It would have had to be a major upset for AEW to win this week.
  15. I'm just saying she isn't a classical beauty or anything. But it is still a shitty angle nonetheless. Granny Panties Molly Holly had it worse though. Now that was an attractive woman.
  16. Well...she doesn't look that good here...
  17. I think they do need writers to help write the shows. One of their best creative minds in their recent history was a writer named Chris Kreski. The problem is not the writers, it is that their skills are being applied in the wrong ways. They should be plotting storylines and character arcs and other things to create continuity and compelling TV, but they don't. That is all on Vince and a few others. The writers are just reduced to writing unnatural sounding promos full of Vince buzzwords and bad jokes and so forth, where that input isn't really needed.
  18. Yeah for all the stuff that those "locker room leaders" pull, its clear they are the biggest marks of all. Wrestler Court? Taker being pissed off because Matt Hardy dared duck out of the ring instead of taking a pointless chokeslam from him? It's just childish shit.
  19. Problem for me, as a hearing impaired person, is that most of the content on Youtube does not have official subtitles. I could turn on the beta captions but they make enough mistakes that I don't think it's worth it. You're right though it takes time to get used to it, and I am sure eventually I'll get there.
  20. star vs star matchups? Pretty sure that was obvious. Not referring to actual quality of the booking.
  21. If you tuned out when Corbin arrived, you missed out the fantastic angle where the nefarious heels dumped dog food on Roman Reigns, I mean that's Wrestlemania caliber stuff.
  22. Yeah like I thought I was admitting, this is more on me than on AEW. I appreciate what they are doing and I understand the intention, I am just too used to the WWE way. I would never think someone is being buried because they lost a match though. To me a burial is a consistent effort to devalue the performer/character with weeks or months of poor booking decisions.
  23. I agree. I am saying they should be leaning on those stars right now doing star things and developing guys underneath. They should be building up two to three guys consistently and telling the fans "these guys are the ones to look out for". To their credit, they are sort of doing that with guys like MJF. But my issue is the fact that they feel all over the place to the degree that no one is really standing out besides the super obvious talents, and these guys aren't being featured enough. Darby Allin would be an example. He has a good match with Jericho, then he isn't even on TV the next week. Or MJF turns on Cody in what could be a star making angle, but he is left off, and this Blade and Butcher trio debuts with no discernable ties to MJF (it was only established on social media). They're supposedly in on Page but his booking is inconsistent. The Lucha Bros should be pushed way more but they're not. AEW to me feels like a kid at the controls, pressing every different button each week, and then moving to another the next. The only guy who is getting consistent exposure is a 50 year old who is killing it and the show is clearly revolving around him, and then you have Moxley who is also heavily featured but is being put in weird positions like main eventing against a goof like Janela. I realize they don't want to feed all the top guys to Moxley, but it comes across like wasting his time with goofs while his true opponent is in the periphery of the scene, whether its Jericho now or Omega recently. Maybe its just me being used to WWE putting together stacked cards weekly (and resulting in less stars in the process), but AEW Dynamite feels like a supercharged WCW Saturday Night/Power Hour or WWF Prime Time Wrestling/SNME. Now I don't really feel like what they are doing is really all that wrong, but me being spoiled by weekly Raw shows for years, this stuff just isn't as compelling. I want to like AEW and I do appreciate them being around to provide a real alternative, and they are still finding their way and working on establishing some things, but I am finding I have less patience than I should/thought I would.
  24. I'd love to see this match play out, and would hope Roman wins.
  25. Right, let's keep it that way.
