Well it is true they are doing better than TNT might have expected, so they're here to stay but it is also pretty apparent they have lost a lot of steam. I don't know what they can do to fix it but I'd probably start with not putting Joey Janela in the main event, even if its as a sacrificial lamb for Moxley. Moxley and Jericho (and Cody for a while) are the only guys who look like bonafide stars, and that is something you do need, whether its for the hardcores or mainstream audience (and by the way, by putting it on national television, you kinda have to make it mainstream appealing, you're deluding yourself if you think otherwise).

Ah gotcha. -
Ok, I'm down with that idea.

With Wyatt as the catalyst??? Uhhh... ok. -
AEW seems to be booking entirely for the fanbase they see at indy shows, but with a better TV deal. So they're not making TNA type mistakes (WWE lite) but they are starting to feel like they are gonna be something possibly as bad. I've watched every week of AEW up til a week after Full Gear but now I've not seen an episode and I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

How do you lose 6,000 total viewers but gain 11,000 in a demographic?
-
I just think AEW is dangerously close to WCW levels (and recent WWE) in having old dudes around. PCO is great but he's 50. He's fine where he is. AEW should be developing new talents instead of bringing him in to be a monster for a stable that they seem to have plans for. I know this sounds ageist, and I admit it is, but come on now. They don't need him.

Agreed.

Yeah Okada, easily, and I'm not a fan of the guy.

I don't care who wins the triple threat but whoever it is needs to win the belt from Cole. -
Don't despair, I am sure she will make the rankings next week!
-
The Dark Order seems to be about converting people like a cult. This means taking existing AEW members and turning them to the dark side. They don't need PCO. Really, they don't.

Uhh isn't Evil Uno the fat fuck monster of the group?
-
He doesn't do anything for me but I can sort of get why he is popular and he is always a guy you can do the hardcore stuff with when needed.
-
Probably just me, but this is something that I think was a better idea in theory than in practice. It's a major miss for me so far. Get rid of the rankings and just do stories the way you've been doing them anyways, which is to say, like NWA/WCW.

Even though his "Greatest night in wrestling history!!!" line was a joke, I don't think he was ever really a joke. At least I didn't think he was. He was just a guy trying to make a joke promotion that WCW ended up being somewhat respectable. Though I guess his low point was his appearance in TNA...

WWE TV 11/25 - 12/1 Soccer does take politics away from the spotlight

I mean, I would understand buying a replica of the mask but a mask as a belt sounds like a waste of a single cent, let alone 6,500 dollars. -

Who would even want that piece of crap? -
Perhaps that problem started when wrestling promotions and the wrestlers themselves started treating it as a performance art instead of the simulated combat it used to be. Even with AEW talking about making it more sports like, they really have gone in a different direction.

He'll definitely get a turn with the main event title, but I don't think it will happen for quite a while. He's either gonna win it after a long redemption arc or as a newly turned heel. I'd rather him win the title over Page though, for sure.

It is perfectly acceptable to hope for the best where the guy is concerned but also want to see the best product possible, and if that means an absence of someone, so be it. -
How would Janela know there'd be no addressing his elimination? With how the PPVs are set up and with how the shows seem to rotate the appearances of certain guys on the roster, it would be reasonable to expect it addressed eventually even if it wasn't immediate. Janela should know it is obvious he isn't a cornerstone of AEW. I hope this was written in kayfabe, because it would be totally dumb to react this way so quickly.

Considering Punk's stance on part-timers getting the prime spots at Wrestlemania, I seriously doubt all of this was Punk angling for a main event. It's not impossible, but it is very highly unlikely. He stayed away for like 5 years, had done MMA fights and other things, wasted his physical prime staying away, all of it just to get the spot? That's a next level sort of long con...and would be contingent on Vince playing along which is far from guaranteed. Just no. -
I like this idea. They should lean into it hard.

Nah there's no comparison between how Windham or Booker T. was portrayed and how Omega and Page are portrayed. I doubt Windham would have cut promos while bench pressing 10 pounds. I doubt Booker T. would have whipped out a barbed wire broom. And their characters were definitely better defined unless you think video game nerd and a skinny cowboy wannabe are good characters...
