  1. Even Cena has his moments, like the time he blasted the Rock for not staying in the WWE, and it sounded transparent that its Vince's words but came off looking like a jilted lover whining that his ex moved on. But yeah otherwise he's done well in the role. I think Reigns is doing well there as well. You don't really see him whine about stuff.

Honestly, to be a pro wrestling fan requires chucking the moral compass out the window.
  3. Difference is an injury wrestling for Vince could be interpreted as a necessary or inevitable byproduct for what they are asked to do. By contrast, Its not like leukemia is something you can anticipate. The mumps thing, well until this current run as the Fiend, Bray was booked like shit. Always lost the big matches. That could be the punishment for the mumps. Though on this one, I admit its a reach.

Wasn't it Omega who pulled out the mousetrap ?

I have no desire to see another PAC/Page either, but my reasoning is different than yours. As strongly as you feel about PAC, I feel the same about Page. Dude just sucks IMO. He looked like a nerd out there with the Bucks when they were pleading with Omega to take it easy on Moxley. He is essentially, to me, the male equivalent to Britt Baker, as not ready for primetime.

Too bad the Inner Circle doesn't have a really solid tag team as members of the group...

And to be fair, the promo aired that night, when the kids were presumably already in the building. I guess the takeaway is to pay attention to the storylines since they unsanctioned the match for a reason, because they thought he was dangerous.

That's a good point. Kids who supported Dean Ambrose definitely couldn't have enjoyed that character or match. Interesting to see what happens now with him going forward.

Agreed. That was an awesome visual. I was mildly annoyed though that Kenny already got to kick out of that lifting variant of Mox's finisher and I don't believe Kenny did his finisher, so Moxley didn't get to kick out of it. Edit: But I'll get over it as long as they don't run a version of that dumb Triple H/Batista "You fear the pedigree!" storyline.

I guess they are pushing the idea that Moxley is too deranged to operate within the realm of regular pro wrestling. So he doesn't get title shots because they can not justify sanctioning any of his matches and the others would be reluctant to have matches with him so he grows increasingly deranged to the point he hijacks shows to get what he wants?

Right guy won this. Thank god. But props to Omega for putting himself through this.

Moxley helping out the ring crew with his deconstruction of the ring. Maybe its time to go home for those guys. Oh and fuck Omega if he wins this...unless the plan is for Moxley to beat the Best Bout Machine in a straight up match...

Oh definitely. He gets major props for doing this. I am just speaking of his acting skills. It sucks. But yeah, big balls on the guy.

My takeaway so far from this match is Omega might just be as uncool as Seth Rollins. At least he is over with the AEW fanbase. But man, the guy's acting is cheesy as hell, moreso than Moxley's unhinged act. Like he has to be a video game character all the time or something (yes I am aware he is heavily influenced by the video game culture)

Yeah I took the plunge. Works pretty well, so I am happy about it. MJF throwing in the towel was certainly interesting and the turn expected, so much so that I almost thought it would be Cody turning on MJF for costing him that one apparent title shot. Mind you, I don't mean turning heel, but rather exposing MJF for who he really is. But this worked out pretty well. Now the match I bought the show for...Hope they have something good for this Mox/Omega match.

Question about B/R Live, since I am hard of hearing, I was wondering if AEW PPVs would have subtitles? The Countdown video didn't have any, but other stuff on BR Live like the Rich Eisen show does. I am very interested in watching the show tonight but I need assurance there will be subtitles, so if anyone here could shed light on that, would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Dude was still pushed as a main eventer and the clear cut chosen one, even with the bad booking, until he stepped away to battle leukemia. Ever since he came back, it felt like the train left the station without him. And as awful as that is, I laughed at the image gordi laid out.
  19. Is it possible Reigns's treatment is the result of Vince losing faith in him for DARING to have leukemia? He does have a hang up for perceived weaknesses. Maybe it's like "Well we can't trust him now, let's move on from him" and settling on... Rollins.

I was not calling you a STUPID fanboy...a fanboy yeah, but not stupid. No offense was meant, honestly. If anything, obviously I am the idiot for not connecting the broom to the gimmick. I agree the announcers could have pointed it out but a lot of AEW seems to rely on the idea that we are all in on the jokes, backstories, etc of the Elite.
  21. Believe they are referring to the original title which included "Triggered", before I guess the thread starter changed it to acquiesce the holy knights here. Edit: or a mod.

See, I didn't connect the Cleaner gimmick to the broom, so that's on me I guess. It still looks fucking dumb to me. And El-P, I get the feeling AEW can do no wrong by you or something. God forbid someone have a criticism without you running in to defend everything. If someone in the WWE was walking around with a barbed wire broom, good chance you'd be ripping it apart.

Speaking of Omega/Mox, does anyone else think it is silly Omega has taken to using a barbed wire broom as a weapon? Compared to the bat which looks dangerous and cool, the broom just looks dumb, even if I can understand the idea of it being somewhat dangerous. It is almost like Omega is making fun of the whole thing.
  24. I realize I'm not part of that conversation but I agree Jericho should retain. As mismatched as the members in the group seems, they need to keep Inner Circle somewhat strong for a while longer. Only way that works is if the leader is the champion or is in the lead position in the company. Cody is hot right now for sure, and normally I'd capitalize on that, but the timing is all wrong IMO. I also cannot imagine them introducing the concept of judges just so the babyface could win here. I see the judges as either a catalyst for something major to happen to cost Cody (like MJF "turning" or some other shenanigans) or to lead to a disputed result, which doesn't favor a babyface. Either way, they would do it in a way that nobody would hold it against Cody to challenge again down the road when things have run the course with Jericho on top.
  25. I hope you realize you are coming across like a dude who doesn't understand the unique workplace dynamics that are in place here. The wrestlers most likely have responsibilities to tend to, that they can't afford to take stands out of principle here, because like mentioned, they have nearly no leverage here. Most of those guys signed with the WWE before the Saudi Arabia deal came about. They didn't know what they were getting into, but at this point they've become dependent on the WWE paychecks. AEW isn't picking everyone up for the same money they're getting with the WWE. Neither is New Japan. Sure as hell ain't gonna be RoH or Impact either. You talk about heads getting cut off (way to go over the top here by the way) but they got through this ordeal, and we're talking about a meeting in US. Now if they agree to go back to KSA after this, I certainly would have less sympathy for them if this happened again and they didn't speak up, but as things stand now, there's no reason for them to scorch their own Earth just to make a point. That's like ramming their cars into the police vehicle because they were upset they got pulled over for speeding in an emergency situation. It helps nobody here. And considering the fact the boss's son-in-law and potential future heir to the company called out a wrestler for a tweet, the reality is there's gonna have to be A LOT of Curt Floods for things to change here.
