WWE Presents Crown Jewel: Halloween Pumpkin Spice Edition
Slasher replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Not everyone wants to sit at home, paid or not. Shockingly enough, there are plenty of guys who actually wants to do this for a living and to ply the craft they have worked so hard and long to develop careers in. All the bumps they took as young wrestlers, all the jobs they have done to further their standing in the industry, all the work they put in developing their characters and the way they work, that wasn't so they could just sit at home while still in the physical peak of their lives, because they wanted to badmouth an unfortunate incident that is 100% the company's fault. Edit: Sek beat me to this. -

Just because there's "options" now doesn't mean tanking your career just to voice a gripe is a wise business decision. First off, not everyone is going to be invited to AEW. Second of all, the WWE are pretty good about finding ways to keep you even if they want to screw around with you. You hear stories of time being added to contracts or things like that. If it was that easy, Luke Harper would have been gone by now. But he is still there, despite being quite clear of his feelings on the matter. -
That's the thing, I don't feel like MJF ever turned babyface or is really a babyface. His interactions with the crowd is as a heel. So if anything, he is only re-affirming his position as a heel. He could be like "What? You thought I'd turn down the money? I'm not a loser like y'all!"
-
Maybe the tiebreaking judge would be MJF who gives it to Jericho, acting like he's being all fair and impartial, but revealing later on in the build up for the Match Beyond to be in the pocket of Jericho?

I can't argue with that. I just think that given what we have seen from both with good and bad booking, Seth has shown more in his roles than Jinder ever has. Does the booking play a part? Definitely, but I am not comfortable saying Jinder is better based on the idea that he was booked poorly. Seth was better as part of the better booked Shield vs Jinder as part of 3MB. Seth was better as a midcard champion vs Jinder as a midcard champion. Like he was more over than Jinder. Seth was in better programs as a top champion than Jinder was as a throwaway. But I do agree Seth sucks and Jinder might have been better given stronger booking. But that's not what happened, and therefore I cannot in good conscience rate Jinder's run ahead of Seth's.
-
I don't disagree that the role you describe is the best use of Rollins but Jinder was such a throwaway champion that will probably not be remembered in any way in ten years, and while Rollins's run on top has been nothing good, it certainly is better than Jinder's. Now I will allow that Jinder has a better heel act in general, but not as the top champion.

Well 9/11 is an attack on family. Not what she said though. She said it was like HOW the steroid trial was an attack on her family, that made it an absurd statement. -

If true, this has to effectively end their 10 year deal, right? Surely they can't take a chance on return trips if this is how the relationship is turning out? -
Yeah well I was thinking more along the lines of him being more involved with outdoor activities or sports or something else. Certainly was not suggesting Finn led a Brock Lesnar type lifestyle, of course. But like I said, a complete guess based on what I know of Ireland and based on what Devitt seems to enjoy. However after typing all that, I am realizing he is probably a geek too, seeing how he liked to paint himself up in the vein of comic book characters in NJPW. Edit: Also wanted to add that if Im not mistaken, Devitt started training to be a wrestler at a young age and eventually ended up training people (like Becky Lynch) himself as well.

I think the past few weeks was eye opening for WWE, realizing that Cain doesn't look good at all, lacks muscular definition, and is shorter than most of the hosses they have. I wouldn't be surprised if that was it for Cain in the WWE. -
This is a complete shot in the dark kind of guess, but I would have difficulties imagining Fergal Devitt's childhood being anywhere close to what the American wrestlers grew up on. Don't get me wrong, surely people play video games in Ireland, but I don't think it is a big part of what they enjoy doing over there.

Like I said in the week's thread, AEW has been allowing tag team wrestlers to run in whenever they feel like. So I can understand that take in the context of the hot tag looks different in AEW compared to the WWE formula. Guys just run in and do double team moves like tagging doesn't really matter. That said, AEW has still managed to make those matches exciting and keep the fans invested in the matches, so even if they don't do WWE style hot tags, there's plenty of heat anyways for their transitions.
-
Another thing I want to mention is it is taking me a little time to get used to AEW's apparent loose rules when it comes to tag team wrestling. After watching so many WWE matches where double teams only comes at a certain point in the match, it is interesting to see how AEW refs allows guys to just run in whenever they feel like it. Not complaining though.

Am I the only one that's still not sold on Adam Page? To me, he feels too "just there" and it is obvious they are trying to position him well on the card but I just can't buy it.
-
And realizing that people weren't interested in seeing chairshots to the head after they made a conscious plan to "take it back".
-
Didn't the dude win the Breakout tournament? It would have been reasonable for him to expect a push out of it. They had him lose his prize match and as far as I can see, forgot about him immediately afterwards. For someone like him, I can see how he would be confused and lash out if that's the case.
-
Of course not. People talk about a succession plan for the WWE, but I have a good feeling that Vince will run things up to the minute he drops dead.
-
I am not talking about the creative side of things. I think Vince understands the business side of things better than most. So you can run out superior bookers and still not achieve the same amount of success that Vince has enjoyed. Like can you honestly tell me Triple H is going to command the attention of billionaires in a board room? Things we as fans don't even think about, that is absolutely crucial to success, Vince understands better than most.
-
The only way I see they can fix things is by convincing the fans that Vince is no longer in charge and that better minds are at the helm of the WWE machine. Problem is, for all the crap Vince does, he still possesses a better mind for business than most people that could conceivably be in that position.

Probably their way out of booking their most over guy to lose in his first world title match...
