I think what we can take away from this more than anything else. Leon Spinks = Kurt Angle
-
You should've went further John We had Spinks beating Ali then refusing to fight Norton who was the #1 contender leading to Norton/Larry Holmes with Holmes becoming the heavyweight kingpin for the next 6 years while Spinks went on to fight Ali in a rematch and losing. Then it gets better as Don King convinces Ali to retire with the WBA title so he could book Holmes vs. John Tate who would get the WBA title in a unification match that never happened.

Some good stuff from today. Dwayne was a junior in high school in 1989. How trivial.
-
That's why NWA Anarchy has lasted so long and done so well. They have their one city they run bi-weekly and draw pretty good plus they have had TV for a while and get money off of that while selling DVD's and putting stuff online themselves on YouTube.
-
Look at how exciting the indies were 10 years ago and look at them now and you see why there are a lot of promotions in trouble.
-
Yeah him whining about piracy after working for RF all those years is hilarious.

I think the Muppets on Halloween made sense because they are the Muppets plus if the show was a flop then Halloween could be blamed.
-
The excuse is going to be Halloween and whether that's right or not is debatable but there was very little Twitter activity last night with the only trending topic on the show being Statler and Waldorf with 5 minutes left in the show.

First off Loss, that wasn't directed at you or really anyone in particular on here it was a general statement of stuff I see on various wrestling boards and Twitter and it just irks me. Should I have posted what I posted probably not but I just get sick of seeing the same people bitching and bitching and bitching and bitching about it that it got to me because if I was so upset about something I would just quit watching it or whatever. Case in point, I used to listen to a lot of the WON audio shows but they have become such bullshit lately with the same old bitching and whatever then other things that I don't care to hear about, I did the best thing for me and that was to quit clicking on the links and listening to them. Hey I love being critical of stuff but when it starts sounding like a broken record and when you come off like you are being held at gunpoint to watch a TV show, it's time for a change.

I still love the same people that complain about WWE every week yet still watch or my personal favorite the people that DON"T watch WWE and complain about it every chance they get. There is an answer for you people. DON"T FUCKING WATCH THEIR TELEVISION. It might make your miserable life a little better but I doubt it. Now I watch WWE because I want to be entertained which I get mostly every RAW or PPVs which is all I watch. Is every show good...nope but there is always something redeeming in my eyes so I keep watching. As long as WWE makes money they are going to do what they want to do and you have a choice in watching it.

Well he did have his own son turn on him in 1998 by calling Stacy basically a whore at the time. Plus you have the numerous turns by Austin Idol, Tommy Rich, Dutch and of course Bill Dundee. Didn't Bam Bam and Brody also betray Lawler? Oh and Kenny D too. Let us not forget Savage, Valiant, Dream Machine, Koko, Kevin Sullivan, LeDuc, and I'm sure others.
-
Again I ask what about Lawler
-
The thing here isn't Diaz who is awesome but it's going to be CONSTANT pro wrestling lingo and comparisons that we are going to get before the fight.
-
What about Lawler
-
I especially liked how, during the Sheamus match, Cole talked about how "Great White" was trending. I don't know if he was being tongue-in-cheek or what, but I'd guess that was more because of the shark attack over the weekend. No it was because of Sheamus because it also trended worldwide on Sunday night also. Sunday & Monday were probably the best two-day stretch the WWE has ever had on Twitter just dominating the worldwide topics.

WWE isn't the only one working with Twitter as they are currently recruiting more companies and sports to further integrate the brands with each other. In fact on X Factor on FOX Tuesday night they had a graphic that was showing how many tweets X Factor was getting per minute.
-
From the WON I don't think that explained the reference but Rob being a news item in the WON is fantastic.

When it came to the 3 Wise Men though Albano had way more heat than anyone else because of his character. Watch the old TV and there was hatred for Albano.
-
Verdu was the first guy that Albano managed so we'll go from there. All Albano guys. 1971. 1972 1973 1974 was the true beginning of the 3 Wise Men movement so Albano got shifted to more tag teams.

Being someone who watched almost every Mid-South/UWF TV show from 1982-87 yes the Doc bio was severely lacking in that information. Doc wasn't pushed as a main guy until the last year of the promotion but he was involved in big angles and his series with Gordy was legendary. I'm not the biggest R&R fan there is and I think the Fabs & Fantastics are a better in ring team but you can't deny the impact they had on babyface tag teams from 1984-86. Look at all the copycats that came out of it plus Ricky Morton was as good as it got as a babyface worker. They drew huge for Watts & Crockett and in fact they were as big as Dusty at one point.

Jarrett not being in amazes me as well. I'll vote for him every time until he gets in.
