The Gentleman's Club would run in after the match to celebrate with Sawyer as Rich was getting carried out of the ring when all of a sudden a bandaged up Jake Roberts ran out and fought with the GC. We start off this episode of World Championship Wrestling with Solie joined by Koko Ware and they talk about the end of yesterday's GCW where Koko felt the wrath of the Gentleman's Club and Koko said that he knew once he got through with Bruiser Brody that he couldn't rest easy. Koko said that Gentleman Jim Holliday has brought together a group of bad individuals and even though Mike George is out of action this Rip Oliver is a great addition to their team but now they have started a war with him and they are going to need to add 10 more guys to their team if they think they are going to put him away. Koko said that he is going to win the National Heavyweight Title soon and that no one will stop him. We come back from break with Solie joined by "Adorable" Adrian Adonis and they talk about his debut beating Scott McGhee yesterday on GCW and the offer he received from the Gentleman's Club to which Adonis said that he had no comment on at the moment. Adonis said that he has spent the last month in Japan and was getting updates on the happenings in Georgia as often as he could and all he could do was think about how great the competition was here and how he wanted to be in the mix. Adonis said that he doesn't care who he has to face when he has to face them or where he has to face them he wants to win as many matches as he could because of the money and the fact that it gets him closer to getting a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Adonis said that beating McGhee yesterday was step one because McGhee had a fluke win over Race on TBS and he put him away like it was nothing. Solie is joined by Masked Superstar after the break and they talk about recently going to the WWA and Superstar said that there are a lot of politics going on there where he can't get title shots especially at NWA World Champ Harley Race. Superstar said that's one of the reasons why he came back to Georgia this weekend because he knew Race would be here and he wanted to make his presence known. Superstar also said that WWA Champion Chavo Guerrero is on full watch right now and that he will take his title off of him. Solie asked Superstar about the differences between working in the WWA compared to working in Georgia and Superstar said that the fans know and appreciate him here because they came around to what he was doing...he never changed they did....the fans of the WWA haven't been so smart yet. Freddie Miller then goes over all the major NWA events that is coming up next week. We come back and Solie is now joined by 'Mr. Unpredcitable" Dick Slater who said that it's always great to be back in Georgia but working in Puerto Rico isn't so bad. Solie asks Slater what is his current situation there and Slater said that he has been battling politics there just like Superstar has in WWA because he says they play favorites in Puerto Rico just like everywhere else. Slater said that guys like Carlos Colon & Mil Mascaras think they can do whatever they want but they will soon learn that Americans are better than they are and that he is bringing in his good friend Terry Funk to take care of that little piece of business. Solie then has Slater help him narrate clips of Slater working against Mil Mascaras from WWC before asking Slater about why he is here and Slater said that he has seen that the Gentleman's Club is trying to run roughshot over everyone here but he wants them to know that he has lots of friends here and he will be on the next plane out of Puerto Rico any time he is needed. Next Solie is joined by Gentleman Jim Holliday and the rest of the Gentleman's Club and Holliday tells Solie that you have to take the good with the bad sometimes and it is a big blow to lose Mike George indefinitely thanks to Paul Orndorff but to add someone like "The Crippler" Rip Oliver the GC is still the dominant force in wrestling. Holliday vowed that instead of broken shoulders we are going to get broken necks now and Paul Orndorff is #1 on the hitlist. Solie then asked Super Destroyer about his issues with Masked Superstar and Super D said that the Superstar doesn't know when it's time to step away and see that it's his time to shine as the #1 masked man in wrestling. Super D said that at The Omni tonight he will have to beat some sense into him and take his mask off to prove his point even more. Solie then turns his attention towards "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer and mentions that he seems pretty calm considering what is happening in just a few hours at The Omni and Sawyer said that he has nothing to worry about because he has Tommy Rich in a cage which is his environment and he knows without a shadow of a doubt that he will be standing here next week while Tommy Rich will be either in a hospital or standing on the side of a road with his thumb out trying to hitch a ride to the nearest town that will give him a job. Solie then asked Sawyer his prediction for tonight and Sawyer stared into the camera and just simply said....pain..... Freddie Miller then goes over all the major GCW events in the upcoming week. We come back from break with Solie joined by Paul Orndorff who is excited about being back on TBS after being out for almost a month and said that he has vanquished one foe in Mike George and tonight at The Omni he is going to achieve his lifelong dream and that is winning the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Harley Race which will serve two purposes and that is winning the title plus he plans on giving Race the piledriver of his life and said that Emory Hospital better have a room ready for him because that is where he will be spending his night once he gets through with him. Next we get Solie who talks about the feud that has manifested between "Hacksaw" Butch Reed & Jake "The Snake" Roberts over the National Heavyweight Title and we get a video of their matches/angles set to "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John. Solie is joined by the National Tag Champions The Shadow Riders ("Hangman" Bobby Jaggers & Johnny Mantell) and we get clips of the National Tag Titles Tournament that took place in Macon, Georgia on 8/2 with Jaggers saying that the tournament was one of the toughest nights he has had in wrestling but they came out on top like they always do. Mantell then brought up about how now they have the big target on their back as you have Gagne/Weingroff, Armstrong/Whatley, The Oates Brothers, The Southern Studs, and now these Nightmares are in the area. Jaggers agreed saying that the tag team scene in Georgia is as tough as anywhere in the world right now but they are tougher than all of those teams are combined. Mantell then followed by saying that these titles will be around these cowboys' waists for a long time. At that time, Brad Armstrong & "Pistol" Pez Whatley come out and said that we already have beaten you in a non-title match so put your money where your mouth is and put those titles up on the line. Jaggers yelled at Armstrong that they got lucky in that match but they are fighting champions and they will put their titles on the line against them next week on GCW. We come back from break with Solie saying that he wanted to get Tommy Rich out here one last time to talk about his match with Sawyer for tonight but Solie said that Tommy wanted to stay to himself and that he is as focused as he has ever seen him throughout the 6 years he has known him. Solie did call for Mr. Wrestling to come out and asked him about the match with Mr. Wrestling saying that this feud has been one of the roughest ones he has ever seen in wrestling but his gut tells him that Tommy Rich will come out on top. Solie then asked Mr. Wrestling about his new role as an authority figure for GCW and Mr. Wrestling said that Mr. Ted Turner came to him directly and asked him to please try and keep this Gentleman's Club from trying to take over the TV show so here he is and that no one will intimidate him which brings out Holliday who yells at Mr. Wrestling saying that he isn't what he used to be and that he's too old. Holliday then says that his guys will take him out when the time's right and they will rip that mask off his head. Mr. Wrestling then told Holliday that the only way that would happen would be over his dead body which Holliday responded with saying that he could make that happen which angered Solie who said we are out of time we will see you next week. -
Pushing New Japan wrestlers is an interesting move.....Curious to see how it goes.

Oh there are people that watch just to complain especially one or two on this board. The deal with me is that it's live every week so that adds a factor that no other wrestling show does basically at least in the United States. I don't watch Smackdown much at all....NXT just what I need to see....etc etc because they are taped shows.

This week's episode of Georgia Championship Wrestling starts with Gordon Solie telling us that there are a lot of big things going on today as there are some wrestlers returning to Georgia and some making their debuts as well because Georgia is the place to be in wrestling right now. On that note he says that it's an honor to have the CEO of Turner Broadcasting Systems Mr. Ted Turner here today and he has a big announcement to make. Ted thanks Gordon for the time and says that he was in touch with Freddie Miller last week during the telecast of GCW and that he was highly disturbed by what was going on regarding the Gentleman's Club running roughshot over the TV. Turner said that those actions have forced his hand to bring in someone who can stand up to these guys as an authority figure and he is proud to introduce a legend in Georgia...the one and only....the original....Mr. Wrestling. The crowd goes nuts as Mr. Wrestling comes out and tells Solie & Turner that he may have retired from wrestling but he never will back down from anyone and if the Gentleman's Club thinks that they will intimate him then they are sorely mistaken. Solie transitions into saying that one of the men returning today is here and has something to say and he calls out Brad Armstrong. Brad comes out to a huge pop and says that he has had some hard times lately as he had to go away for a few weeks to defend his family's honor in another area. Brad said that his father has told him to come back here to clear his head and that he didn't need to worry about the family as they will always stay strong. Brad said that he made a phone call to a friend of his and that he wants to go after the National Tag Titles which are currently held by The Shadow Riders and that he and his friend are about to show everyone why they deserve a shot. MATCH #1 Brad Armstrong & "Pistol" Pez Whatley vs. Jerry Bryant & Rick McCord Whatley comes out and the fans are excited to see him. This is a good scientific style match with Armstrong & Whatley looking impressive as a team and Armstrong gets the win with a Russian Legsweep on Bryant in 8:13. Freddie Miller then goes over all the major NWA events from the past week before going to break. We come back from break with Solie joined by Greg Gagne & George Weingroff and they go over the clips from the National Tag Titles tournament that took place on 8/2 in Macon, Georgia which was won by The Shadow Riders but with some help from Gagne & Weingroff who distracted The Southern Studs causing them to lose. Gagne said that the Studs proved that they aren't mentally tough as they should've been focusing on the match in the ring not on them at ringside. Gagne said that the Riders owe them as well for the victory and he said that the Riders didn't face them in the tournament so they think a title shot is in line. Solie then asks Gagne about their match today on TV and he said that they always sign open contracts so they don't know who they are facing but they are ready for anyone that gets in their way. MATCH #2 Greg Gagne & George Weingroff vs. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) Gagne & Weingroff enter the ring and then are sneak attacked by the debuting Nightmares with Solie telling everyone he knows these guys and they are from Southeastern Championship Wrestling. The Nightmares take turns pounding on the faces before they make a comeback and Greg would lock on his sleeper on Wayne but as that occured the Southern Studs ran in for the DQ at 11:31. It becomes 4-on-2 until Jerry & Ted Oates run out to even the odds and send the heels scurrying. Jerry & Ted then join Solie at ringside and Ted said that it's been a tough few weeks without his brother but they are back in full force and they are throwing their hats in the ring for the National Tag Titles as well because if they had been in the tournament they know they would've won it. We come back from break and Solie is joined by the debuting "Crippler" Rip Oliver who said that he has come to Georgia for some competition and that all he has heard lately is about how Georgia has the best action in the world. Oliver said that he is here to make money and he will show everyone the reason why he is called "Crippler" MATCH #3 "The Crippler" Rip Oliver vs. Roberto Soto Soto gives Oliver all he could handle in his debut match on TV but Oliver would get the advantage and he would get his piledriver on Soto in 9:23. "Gentleman" Jim Holliday came out during the match and watched from ringside and then after the match he went over to Solie and called Oliver to join them. Holliday then said this show hasn't started yet because we haven't had the Gentleman's Club roll call which brought out the entire group. Holliday said that he was very impressed with what he saw in Oliver and said that he had the opportunity of a lifetime for him. Holliday said that the GC is always looking for a few good men like the Marines and that Oliver is sadistic and nasty enough to join their ranks. Holliday then mentions to Oliver that there is a lot of money to be made with them and Holliday says that he has a trump card with them today and he introduces the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race. Harley says that it's always a pleasure to be around such great gentlemen like this and he tells Oliver that these guys have already collected one bounty he had out and that was on Paul Orndorff...he said he still has $100,000 on the table to collect between Butch Reed, Tommy Rich, Dusty Rhodes, & Scott McGhee so if Oliver wants money working with the Gentleman's Club is his best bet. Oliver tells Race that he always respected him and that he loves money more than anything in the world so he gladly accepts the offer to join the GC. Freddie Miller then goes over all the past events of the week in GCW. We come back from break and Solie calls out "Hacksaw" Butch Reed who talks about how he has been battling Jake "The Snake" Roberts up and down the roads the past week for the National Heavyweight Title and he said that he has come close many times to getting his belt back and that tomorrow night at The Omni, he thinks will be his night to shine because he will get Jake in a come as you are Atlanta Street Fight. Reed said that it won't be pretty and it will be complete war where only the strong will survive. Solie then tells Reed that Jake isn't at TV today because the promotion wanted him to lay low right now because of his issues not only with Reed but with the Gentleman's Club but he did send in a taped interview for everyone to see. We go to Jake who is standing in a parking lot of an arena and he says that the promotion didn't want him at TV today because they were scared of what he might do. Jake said that his enemies list has grown in the past week and that anyone and everyone is in his crosshairs. Jake said that Reed definitely should be happy he isn't there because he would love to DDT him right there in front of Gordon Soile's desk but that the people that should be the happiest is the Gentleman's Club because his venom for them is seeping from his veins. Jake said that payback is coming and when it comes it will be plentiful as he will have so many notches to add to his belt that he will need a new one when it's over. Jake closed by telling Reed that he isn't afraid of the streets and that as soon as he gets in his car that he is going to drive to the most rundown streets of this town and he is going to give DDT's out to any bum or street chump that gets in his way because he can. After another break, Solie is joined by Tommy "Wildfire" Rich who says that this could be his last appearance in these studios because tomorrow night at The Omni he has the big Loser Leaves Town Steel Cage Match with "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer so he made a couple of phone calls and he wanted two of his best friends to join him today and have a match that the fans will never forget. Rich is then joined by Stan "The Lariat" Hansen and "Mr. Unpredictable" Dick Slater with Slater saying that it is great to be back home and Solie asks him how Puerto Rico is going with Slater saying that it's beautiful down there but his mind right now is here and that as long as he is around, Tommy Rich will never leave Georgia. Hansen agreed saying that many have come and gone from Georgia but Tommy has stayed here and made it his home. Hansen said that today they will get a piece of the Gentleman's Club and that they will know what's in store for them tomorrow night. MATCH #4 Stan "The Lariat" Hansen, Tommy "Wildfire" Rich, & "Mr. Unpredictable" Dick Slater vs. "King Kong" Angelo Mosca, "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer, & Super Destroyer This is a high impact match with everyone taking and giving out the punishment. The fans are on fire throughout as everyone works their asses off and it comes to a point where all 6-men are brawling. Mike George would run out for the DQ and he would try to get Rich again with a shoulderbreaker after he gave him 2 last week but as he got him up, "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff ran out making his return and he went nuts on George just beating the hell out of him. The other 6 were brawling on the floor as Orndorff picked up George and gave him a piledriver, then Rich threw a steel chair in the ring and Orndorff would give him another piledriver, then picked him up and along with Slater's help they gave George a spike piledriver on the chair before leaving the ring. Orndorff went over to Solie and yelled that Mike George got everything he deserved there because he put him out of action for nearly a month causing him to miss out on a lot of money. Orndorff said that there is no more Mr. Nice Guy which brought out Harley Race who told Orndorff that he thinks he has done something getting rid of Mike George well tomorrow night at The Omni, he will do what George couldn't do and that is put him away permanently. Orndorff then told Race to shine that belt up because it's going to look good sitting on his mantleplace when he gets home. Mr. Wrestling came out though and told Orndorff that he understands where he is coming from but attacks like that can't happen anymore no matter who it is and he has been authorized to fine him $5,000. Orndorff said that it was worth every penny. We come back from break and Solie says that there is a man that has come back today that has been away for a little while but has something to say and he brings out the Masked Superstar. Superstar tells Solie that it's always a pleasure to be in Georgia and that he has been working for the WWA lately and that Harley Race has been ducking him so he knew Harley would be here today so he is putting out a formal challenge for a shot at his title. This brought out Super Destroyer who asked Superstar why is he here....he left with his tail tucked between his legs months ago because he knew that his time was over and that he was now the premier masked man in this area. Superstar told Super D that he had no issues with him and they were a great tag team last year which Super D said yeah because he carried Superstar the whole time. Super D mentioned that Superstar was a glory hog and always thinking of himself well those days are over and that he needs to step aside to let a new man shine. Superstar then tells Super D that if he is so confident in himself how bout they go at it right now...Super D laughed and told Superstar that he was just in a helluva fight and that a match like that shouldn't be on TV but somewhere where the fans will have to pay. Superstar then said alright what about tomorrow night at The Omni and Super D agreed saying by the time he is done with him everyone will see how ugly he is. Holliday then comes out and tells Solie that Mike George has been sent to Emory Hospital and that the GC isn't going to let this go unpunished. After the break, Solie announces that we have one more debut today and he called out "Adorable" Adrian Adonis. Adonis said that he has been in Japan the last month and he has been keeping up with all of the events in GCW saying that there are a lot of tough guys around here but he thinks that he is the best wrestler in the world and that no one here can put his shoulders to the mat. Adonis said that the NWA World Champion is here today and he better definitely be watching because somewhere down the line they will meet and that when that happens there will be a new champion. Adonis said that he demanded to face Scott McGhee today because McGhee has that fluke victory over Race and a dominating victory over him will put him in a position to get what he wants. MATCH #5 "Adorable" Adrian Adonis vs. Scott McGhee Adonis is very impressive here taking everything McGhee had in arsenal and still coming back stronger and stronger. Adonis would grab McGhee and put him in Goodnight Irene in 10:18 and after the match he went back to Solie and said that the proof is in the pudding. Gentleman Jim Holliday then shows up and tells Adonis that he would be a great addition to the Gentleman's Club and that Rip Oliver has already joined the fold earlier so Adonis joining them would be the cherry on top of the sundae. Adonis then told Holliday that he doesn't need anyone to be by his side or anyone to back him up because he is New York born and New York bred and he can beat anybody at anytime on his own. Adonis then asks Holliday about his relationship with Harley Race and Holliday says that they are business partners to which Adonis said that well that says everything doesn't it and walks off. Holliday then says that he is going to give Adonis another week to think about the offer and that he knows that he will come to his senses unlike that goof Jake Roberts. We come back from break with Koko Ware joining Solie and they go over the situation with Bruiser Brody from last week where Koko sent him packing and Koko tells Solie that beating Brody clean was like a dream come true and that he is now on his way to achieving the success that he has always wanted. Koko said that he wants some gold around his waist now whether it's the National Heavyweight Title or National Tag Titles with a partner, it's time for him to shine. MATCH #6 Koko Ware vs. Les Thornton This doesn't go long because as Koko starts to work ove Thornton he is jumped by the Gentleman's Club for a DQ in 4:45. Rip Oliver gives Koko a piledriver but the tide turns as Reed, Rich, Hansen, Slater, & Orndorff all run out for a wild brawl. There are guys fighting all over the studio as Solie can't call all of the action involved and the fans are losing their minds. In all of the madness Rich would eventually have Sawyer in the ring all to himself and he would hit his Thesz Press with Dick Slater running in to count Sawyer's shoulders to the mat as the show goes off the air. -
Kris and co-host Dylan Hales are joined by Al Getz (WHOO Wrestling) and “Reverend” Dan “the Dragon” Wilson (Midnight Black Mass) to discuss the Scenic City Invitational and NWA Wildside/Anarchy over the years. Listen to the guys discuss each first round matchup in the tournament and how everyone is slotted, plus what they bring to the table. Dylan also gives his picks for each matchup. As an added bonus, we have some issues with a fugitive showing up in one of the guest’s yards at the beginning of the show! http://placetobenation.com/exile-on-badstreet-12-a-scenic-trip-to-the-wildside/
