    NXT TakeOver Brooklyn

I tried to do the reaction show but had to bow out due to having to get up at 6:30 AM for work but thoughts...... Liger vs. Breeze About everything you would've wanted from this......the awesome entrance from Breeze, Liger doing Breeze's spots like he did with Dalton Castle, not too long and just enough time plus Liger going over clean as a shit which was the right finish as it doesn't hurt Breeze to lose to the legend. Vaudevillains vs. Blake & Murphy The best match both of these teams have ever been in....Aiden English is really growing on me as a worker.....Blue Pants was over like crazy whether you like it or not and it made complete sense for her to be involved here.....Alexa Bliss has gotten stronger and stronger playing heel.....This was the right finish as well and I was proud of the Vaudevillains to get that win when they deserved it. Apollo Crews vs. Tye Dillinger I really dig Tye's gimmick right now as it got him out of the purgatory he was in.....Apollo is main roster ready right now.....he has an aura about him that can get over very easily if portrayed right.........I am interested in who they program him with though.....Breeze may be the guy.......the match itself was the least of the show but it was still very good. Samoa Joe vs. Baron Corbin This was the NXT Hoss Fight.....two bulls going at it and while Joe looked like he was a tick slower than normal this worked very well.....EASILY Corbin's best showing and if he can expand on this he may actually have a chance on the main roster.....I still think his gimmick as the Indie Hater with Randy Orton would be amazing..... Bayley vs. Sasha Banks What can you say about this match......it was amazing for many reasons.....the work was about as good as you can get not just in the WWE but in wrestling in general right now.....the entrances were so fun especially Sasha......Sasha acting like a complete badass motherfucker like she was a female Tenryu was awesome.....Bayley is the easily the best babyface they have on their roster right now and the easiest that fans can get emotionally invested in and that's why this match is getting so much love more than the work because of the emotion people had in Bayley and I'm talking about grown ass men here not women and kids....the finish was tremendous and the payoff to over a year of build because Bayley was always on the outside looking in while the others got their shine and now she is the Queen......then you had the curtain call with the Horsewomen together and there is no way you can convince me that this shouldn't have closed the show because that was NXT my friends. Match of the Year candidate no doubt and "THE" Match of the Year.....it's as good of a choice as any other right now. Balor vs. Owens Now this match was fucking awesome.....a lot of people couldn't get into it because of the previous match and I understand that but holy shit this was one of the best ladder matches I've ever seen because it felt like a ladder match worked on a BattlARTS show.....these dudes were working stiff and Kevin Owens is a complete fucking insane madman for the bumps and punishment he took. This was as good of a Balor performance I have ever seen and these dudes delivered in a major way that they should be proud of themselves.....but it still should've went before the divas match...... On the whole this show had everything you wanted but I do wish that Enzo & Cass would've gotten on the main show....is it show of the year maybe not but they delivered everything in spades and NXT big shows continue to deliver in major ways....they may not be filled with 4-star matches but they are consistent to a high degree and that is important to a fan.
  2. Rocket....stay on board brother.....you don't have to detailed stuff if you don't have to just put up quick blurbs every now and then.

    NXT TakeOver Brooklyn

On a show full of interesting happenings.......Gedo being backstage at the show instead of ROH is the most interesting especially after the ROH/NJPW co-promotional deal was announced.
  4. I was a HUGE Tanahashi guy in the 2000's before I got disenchanted with Japanese wrestling in general after I quit reporting on it. He was a fantastic worker back then that was overshadowed by all the Inoki-ISM bullshit and I along with other New Japan fans used to get extremely pissed at Dave for not reporting on New Japan accurately.....my how times have changed

  6. Heel David Von Erich is great.
  7. Excellent work here Beast
  8. Harley becoming the unified champion is a great touch and solidifies the WWA.
  9. Boon just keeps bringing it with his stuff.....kudos my friend.
  10. The ending of the TV show was just like a UWF ending circa 1986. Strong stuff here LBP.
  11. This week's episode of Georgia Championship Wrestling begins with Gordon Solie joined by Mr. Wrestling who tells Gordon that this is a big day for GCW as they have the #1 Contenders Tournament for the National Tag Titles and that he is sick and tired of all the interference in matches on TV so he said that if anyone interferes in any matches today they would be fined $5,000. MATCH #1 #1 Contenders Tournament for the National Tag Titles: Brad Armstrong & "Pistol" Pez Whatley vs. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) Good back and forth match but Brad would catch Wayne with a Russian Legsweep in 10:33 to advance to the finals. Armstrong & Pez would join Solie at ringside after the match and they guaranteed victory in the finals today and they would be wearing those National Tag Titles very soon. Freddie Miller runs down all the major NWA events from the previous week before going to break. We come back from break with Solie joined by "Diamond" Timothy Flowers and his manservant Pablo with Flowers telling Gordon that he has been on tour all week in Ohio, Michigan, & West Virginia and now he knows what hell feels like because all he saw was ugly people. Flowers said that no one had a tan and the men all had beards which he can't stand but the women had even longer ones. Flowers said that Ron Ritchie highly insulted him last week and he has had battles with him over the previous week on tour but now he will have to prove himself on TV to see if he is in his class. MATCH #2 "Diamond" Timothy Flowers vs. Ron Ritchie Ritchie has Flowers on the ropes early and Flowers looks at Pablo for help but Pablo makes a dollar sign symbol with his hands regarding the $5,000 fine for interfering. Flowers would eventually get control though and got Ritchie in a figure-four leglock to win the match in 9:13. Flowers then went to Solie after the match and said that Ritchie was just a boy and that he only deals with real men. We come back from break with Solie joined by Greg Gagne & George Weingroff and they talk about all the problems they have had with the Southern Studs over recent weeks with clips shown and they talk about how today is the most important matchup in their rivalry. Weingroff tells Greg that today he will he finally show him his worth as a tag partner and they will soon become National Tag Team Champions. Gagne tells George that he thought we were done with this stuff about him not feeling like he is worthy because he most definitely is. Weingroff said that we are about to find out for sure. MATCH #3 #1 Contender Tournament for the National Tag Titles: The Southern Studs (Chick Donovan & Tommy Wright) vs. Greg Gagne & George Weingroff Weingroff started the match strong taking it to the Studs but they would catch him in their corner and started taking control and also as this happened Donovan & Wright would take turns knocking Gagne off the apron thus keeping Weingroff from tagging him. Weingroff just kept getting punished as Gagne was fighting his own battles. The end of the match happened as when Donovan was brawling with Gagne on the floor, Wright caught Weingroff with a backdrop suplex then made him submit to the Boston Crab. Gagne comes in the ring after the match and tries to help Weingroff but George gets up and yells "WHERE WERE YOU" at him and Gagne explains that the Studs were attacking him and keeping him from tagging him. George then tells Greg that he has been taking advantage of his insecurity this whole time just to keep himself from getting beaten up. George said that he has been the one that has always been beaten in their matches while Greg played the role of consoling partner. George said that he understands that Gagne is a bigger star than he is but he needs to prove himself as not just an equal partner but an equal adversary so he wants a match next week on TV. Gagne said that George you aren't thinking clearly right now but gets slapped in the face with George saying that he is fine and that he must do this to save his career before walking off. Gagne tells Solie that he now has no choice but giving George the match he wants but it will be scientific and no roughhousing. Freddie Miller then goes over all the GCW events from the past week before going to break. We come back from break with Gordon joined by the National Heavyweight Champion Jake "The Snake" Roberts who gets a huge ovation from the crowd but Jake is non-plussed saying that there are enemies all around him. Jake said that the Gentleman's Club are on his hitlist but he warned Orndorff, Reed, & Ware that they aren't immune from his venom either and that the only friends he has slithers around like he does. Solie asks Jake about Adrian Adonis & Angelo Mosca being similar to him in their battles with the Gentleman's Club and he said that yeah they have their thing going on just like him and yes they share some common ground but by no means are they friends of his which brings out Adonis who tells Jake that he is just like him in that he needs no friends either because growing up in New York City he pounded pavements throughout his childhood and needed no one to watch his back or stand by his side. Mosca now comes out next and tells them that he also doesn't look for help and when he played football he would fight his own teammates all the time because he was his own man but when it came time to go to battle they stood together for the common cause of beating their opponents. Mosca then puts the offer out there to Jake & Adonis that if the Gentleman's Club thinks they are going to run roughshot over them they better know that they would be watching each other's backs. Adonis looks at both men and says we will see....Mosca walks off saying that he guesses that is better than nothing.....Jake is left alone and said that he considers both of them threats for his title and that means that he can't trust them but who knows....Solie looks confused. MATCH #4 "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff vs. Rick McCord Orndorff wins fairly easily using a Piledriver in 4:51. After a break, The Gentleman's Club comes out with Holliday giving a smaller roll call than normal because there is only 3 men left which he tells Solie won't be long because there are always reinforcements on call. Holliday then tells Solie that he almost cried his eyes out earlier over the meeting of the minds between Jake, Adonis, & Mosca saying that those guys couldn't work together if you paid them to because they are so full of themselves. Holliday said that Mosca was the weak link of the GC and he will be the weak link of anything he is involved with because that is the way it is. Mosca then comes out and grabs Rip Oliver from behind and throws him into the ring but before he could do anything Sawyer & Super D run in to jump him for a 3-on-1 attack before Adonis ran out to help but still the numbers game was on the GC side.....until Jake ran out and started laying people out with DDT's and almost including Adonis who Jake let go of. Jake then stared at Adonis & Mosca and slithered out of the ring. MATCH #5 #1 Contender Tournament for the National Tag Titles: "Hacksaw" Butch Reed & Koko Ware vs. Jerry & Ted Oates This was a scientific match for the most part but the Oates brothers would turn up the intensity prompting Reed & Koko to follow in kind. Koko would hit a missile dropkick on Ted to get the win at 11:21. Mr. Wrestling would come out after the match and said that he has gotten confirmation from the Gentleman's Club and Adonis/Mosca/Jake for a 6-man tag match to happen next week on TV. Mr. Wrestling also announced that if the GC won the match then Gentleman Jim Holliday can pick the opponent for Jake on the NWA 35th Anniversary Show at The Omni on 9/4. MATCH #6 The Shadow Riders ("Hangman" Bobby Jaggers & Johnny Mantell) vs. Jerry Bryant & Roberto Soto The Riders were pumped up today because they were going to find out who the real #1 contenders are to their titles and they punished poor Bryant here. Mantell would drop him with a German Suplex then tagged in Jaggers who used the Hangman hold to win in 5:09. After the match, the Riders said that they were going to watch the next match with Solie because they wanted to scout their future opponents. MATCH #7 #1 Contenders Tournament for the National Tag Titles - Finals: "Hacksaw" Butch Reed & Koko Ware vs. Brad Armstrong & "Pistol" Pez Whatley vs. The Southern Studs (Chick Donovan & Tommy Wright) This was under elimination rules and the first team elimianted was Armstrong & Pez when Chick gave Wright a pair of brass knux which he used to KO Whatley in 12:34. This left the Studs with Reed & Ware and they have a spirited back and forth match where Wright was going to use the brass knux again but he accidentally KO'D Donovan by mistake as he was holding Ware and then Wright turned around to eat a diving shoulderblock off the top rope by Reed to end the match at 25:10. The Riders then jumped in the ring after the match and taunted Reed & Ware with their belts as the show went to black.
