You are correct sir. I totally forgot about that part but I always loved that he just kept working as Stagger Lee without the mask -

He was a smarter worker in 92-93 definitely and more sound but 89 he was doing some really athletic stuff that he couldn't do as much of post injury. I loved Sting in the early 90's too but if he hadn't had the injury who knows man -

This episode of World Championship Wrestling starts with Gordon Solie giving us a rundown of all the major events of yesterday's episode of Georgia Championship Wrestling especially Jake Roberts winning the National Heavyweight Title from Butch Reed and they show the last 5 minutes of the match including the angle with the Gentleman's Club attacking Jake. Solie said that because of that situation the Gentleman's Club were barred from TV today. Gordon announced that both Reed & Jake were released from the hospital and were there today to talk about what happened on yesterday's show. On that note, Solie calls out Butch Reed who comes out and says that yeah he is banged up physically and mentally but he is angry and that is driving him to getting his title back. Reed said that it took Mike George giving him a shoulderbreaker for Jake to get a DDT to win the title and for that Mike George is on his hit list and he won't sleep another night until he puts him out of action permanently. Reed said that he is going to haunt Mike George every day and that he better watch his back 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Now regarding Jake, Reed said that this is far from over and that he will get his title back or he will die trying. Reed said that title is the key to him getting the chances he needs to become the first black NWA World Heavyweight Champion and it's his divine right to achieve that goal. Reed said that he has become the hunter and Jake has become the hunted and that a hacksaw will always beat a snake in any form of life. Butch said that he had Jake beat all day long yesterday and one day he won't have anybody to give him a helping hand and when that day comes, he will get his title back. Freddie Miller then goes over all the major NWA events in the upcoming week. We come back with Solie standing next to Koko Ware with Solie congratulating him on finally vanquishing Bruiser Brody and forcing him to leave Georgia forever. Koko said that he did it for the people and that they drive him to becoming the best he can be every single night. We get clips of the finish with Koko narrating over it and he said that Brody is the toughest guy he's ever faced in the ring and that he beat him up pretty good whenever they have wrestled against each other but yesterday he happened to be the better man on that day when it counted the most. Koko then said that he wants to use this victory as a springboard for bigger and better things before saying that he wants to throw his hat in the ring for potential matches for Jake Roberts' National Heavyweight Title. Koko said that he & Jake had battled quite a bit on the road lately and that both gave as good as they got but he knows that after beating Brody that he definitely can be the guy that takes the title off of Jake. After the break, Solie is joined by Tommy "Wildfire" Rich who tells him it's one more week before the biggest match of his life....the Loser Leaves Town Steel Cage Match at The Omni between him & Buzz Sawyer. Rich said that he has battled Sawyer for 2 years now and that they have come to the point to see just who is the better man. Rich said that he loves Georgia and loves the fans with all of his heart and it's that love that will put him over the top. Rich said that you won't be seeing Buzz Sawyer any more after next Sunday night and that without him the Gentleman's Club will fall apart and die. Freddie Miller then goes over all the major GCW events in the upcoming week. Next we have Solie joined by "Gentleman" Chris Adams where they talk about the NWA International Heavyweight Title tournament in Vancouver a few weeks ago and they narrate over Adams' matches including where he beat Stan Hansen before losing to The Honky Tonk Man with Adams saying that he will get his revenge on HTM soon. Adams then talked about Les Thornton and the deal from yesterday about being the Best in Britain and Adams said that he doesn't know who really is the best British wrestler but he does know one thing....he is better than Les Thornton. After a commercial break we get Solie with Crusher Blackwell and they show clips of his issues with the Hart Family in Stampede and he said that he is tired of dealing with Canadian rednecks. He thought he was done with rednecks when he left Georgia but boy was he wrong. Blackwell then talked about his match with Scott McGhee yesterday and said that he took care of him with no one's help and that he could beat anybody in the promotion if he wanted to. Next we get Solie with Greg Gagne who talks about the valiant effort that George Weingroff put out yesterday in his match with Bobby Jaggers and that it was amazing to watch a guy go out there to prove himself when he didn't need to. Gagne said that the National Tag Titles Tournament is coming up this Tuesday in Macon and that the Shadow Riders & the Southern Studs are going to face a team like they have never seen before because he & George are more focused and intense as ever. Then we get Around the NWA where we get clips of the major news around the world and it leads up to Solie showing the Adrian Adonis video again from last week before introducing a new message from Adonis who said that the time is near and that he is coming to Georgia to take on all comers because he has no friends and prefers to keep it that way. The last segment of the show features Solie interviewing the new National Heavyweight Champion Jake "The Snake" Roberts who tells Gordon that on the day where he finally won the gold that he has been aiming for since coming to the promotion, he got beat up by 4 guys which he said wasn't the first time and probably won't be the last time. Roberts said that Butch Reed gave him a helluva match which was nothing new and that the fact that the Gentleman's Club stuck their nose in business it didn't belong in means that they have a new war on their hands. Jake said that he doesn't need anyone to be on his side because he is as evil and sadistic as all 4 of them are combined. Jake said that he respects them trying to collect a bounty and if it was any other guy's match it would be different but the fact that they interfered in his match, without him knowing about it and the fact that they took credit for his victory was a huge mistake on their part. Jake said that Jim Holliday is nothing but a leech and that those guys are nothing but simple minded goons who are satisfied with letting a piece of garbage like Holliday steal from them. Jake said that he wants all of the money that he deserves and doesn't need partners, friends, or anyone to take money out of his hands. Jake then talked about Reed saying that Butch thinks he got a raw deal well he probably did but that's the breaks and in the end he fell to the DDT but their battles aren't over yet and that he won't be satisfied until Reed is out of the title picture for good. Jake then closed by saying there's danger on the edge of the town, ride the snake, ride the snake, to the lake, the ancient lake, the snake is long, seven miles, ride the snake, he's old, and his skin is cold, this is the end, beautiful friend, this is the end, my only friend, the end.....before walking off leaving Solie with a look of bewilderment only to say we will see you next week. -
