  1. Savio Vega vs. Necro Butcher from IWA "Noche de Campeones" a couple of years ago in Puerto Rico. I was there and thought it was a really fun match live.
  2. There's the It's Always Sunny "The Gang Wrestles for the Troops" episode where the gang is watching Hulk Hogan and Nikolai Volkoff on a laptop. Rowdy Roddy Piper appears in the episode too as the Maniac and the gang then wrestles as the Birds of War against Cricket who wrestles as the Talibum and Frank interferes as the Trashman and hits Cricket with a trash can and cuts hits neck wide open and Cricket bleeds while the crowd cheers Frank.
  3. Christian rapper Andy Mineo name dropped Randy Savage in "Superhuman." "Boy, this is madness, we want the trophy wife who's the baddest and not some average, so we can feel like the man, Randy Savage." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BF88Y4i1Vg
  4. I watched the "Devils of Japan" matches like 2 weeks ago and they were ok. Gorilla Monsoon and Lord Alfred Hayes were hilariously awful on commentary for all 3 of Dump and Bull's matches. "Nakayoy," "Naino," etc. All Lord Alfred Hayes did was was say how how big, fat and ugly they were and Gorilla expressed how mean they were and how big their asses were which was a bit weird. Despite not being able to carve anyone up, no crowd brawling or stablemate interference, Dump and Bull looked good I thought playing up to the crowd, heeling it up with cheap tactics and catching Velvet McIntyre's high flying comeback offense.
  5. Looking at some of the guys he's paired with in and the scenario he's in in those matches, I'd say he benefited a lot from both.
  6. I wouldn't say either of these 2 were that good. The only memorable Tenzan match I can recall is that one with Kawada years ago and I'm not even sure that holds up that well upon a re-watch.
  7. Kobashi/Joe was good, but not great and it's not universally loved by those who've followed Japanese wrestling for years, it just universally loved by newer US indy wrestling fans who began following Japanese wrestling because of ROH and think it's the greatest match ever. Not having watched said Richards/Elgin match I can't say, but on paper it doesn't sound like the type of match I'd give I'd rate that highly.
  8. Did the Savio Vega vs. Necro Butcher hardcore match from IWA "Noche de Campeones" ever make video?
  9. They've run that angle a couple of times, but its always set up differently.
  10. My favorite part comes later during that feud when Carlos is put on the shelf by Ray and Victor. After the surgery, Carlos unexpectedly goes to Atlanta to ask Abdullah (who Carlos had retired a year or so before in a retirement match) for his help. I've never been able to find video of that segment, but it's among my top favorite moments in wrestling. Abby offering Carlos the fork on the table as a sign of accepting his alliance was funny.
  11. I see Dylan is way into the WWC. The best possible feud/angle in WWC history maybe the Ray Gonzalez heel turn. I'm not sure if it's entirely online, but it was great. I know the cameo where he spits in Carlos Colon's face, slaps Invader #1 and fights with Ricky Santana at his ranch is online, but the entire thing was golden. He worked his way up the ranks beating all the members of the Ejercito de la Justicia in a span of 2 months maybe leading up to the big blowoff Carlos Colon WWC Universal Title run at Aniversario where they split wins. I was live at some of those matches and the heat Ray got for the heel turn can't be justified on tape. It was just a wild atmosphere at the arenas.
  12. I know quite a bit about the 80's, but I've been watching since around 1997.
  13. I've been watching for a ton of years, have family involved in it, have attended several hundreds of WWC and IWA shows, so I know quite a bit.
  14. The Rhodes Brothers (Goldust & Cody Rhodes) vs. The Real Americans (Antonio Cesaro & Jack Swagger) - WWE RAW, 1/6 This was worked similar to the aforementioned SmackDown tag match in the sense that Cody is the FIP (I haven't followed wrestling in years, so I'm not sure if this is your standard awesome Rhodes Brothers match or not, but it seems like it) and Goldust is the one coming off the hot tag. The only difference from the SmackDown tag is that the Real Americans aren't giants like the Wyatt Family and it gives Goldust more time to work his offense before it ends. John Cena vs. Damien Sandow - WWE RAW, 1/13 Again, I haven't followed wrestling in years, so I have no idea how good Cena's been, if Sandow is any good, if this the norm for either guy or nothing, but I thought this was awesome. This was worked somewhat like a main event with them breaking out big stuff leading to some hot neatfalls minus the kicking out of the finishers constantly which is a good thing. Cena made Sandows offense look great and even though it was a given Cena would win, it still came off as if Sandow was going to pull off the upset at some points. The crowd was hot for the majority of the match and the commentary was on point too. I'm sure Cena's pulled off the AA countering the crossface like that before, but I haven't kept up with wrestling regularly in years, so I can't confirm that, but I still think it was an awesome way to finish the match. Fun stuff. I'd like to hear others opinions on the Cena/Sandow match because I may have awkward taste in wrestling and maybe the only one who dug it since I've seen no one talk about it, so that'd be nice.
