This was easily West Virginia's biggest show ever. The Nightmares were the clear pick for tag champs but I wasn't sure Hotbody could escape the Dog.
-
The Bash card looks amazing. After all they've been through, the Express v the Freebirds deserved that no DQ stip.
-
The July 4th armory show gets a major boost as it'll see West Virginia's first tag champions crowned.
-
The transition from PiP to the Love Connection as the top heel unit has gone smoothly.
-
The odd couple couldn't hold onto the straps forever. The Enforcer's win gives the Alliance a major boost heading into Rude challenging Sting for the World title next week. Tenryu & York's campaign moves beyond kind words. Missy may not have the hold on the Steriners she thought.

The Ebony Express seems to be having trouble picking up steam in the Knoxville area. All due respect to Ahmed, think it's safe to say Dutch leveled up bringing in Bundy. Big Jim proves the difference maker. TNT shows the veterans they aren't afraid to play rough. Gordy wins the battle of the Piledriver. The cast the Fullers gave Armstrong is what hands him the win. Love it.

The Bullet's going into the most important match in SMW history with a bad arm. Doesn't look good. The two tough veterans look to show TNT how it's done. There seems to be a pay dispute going on between Dutch & Ahmed. The Armstrongs bring in Hillbilly Jim to take the fight to Wright's "Christians". Night of Legends promises to be a sellout.

Morrow may have just made good on his vow that Hogan won't make it to WrestleRock. Blaze gives the fans a pick-me-up. The Tiger is back and ready to maul Norton. Barr looks to prove he is the ,aster of the frog splash at WrestleRock. I reall like when you use these six man tags as a multi-match preview. Hashimoto puts his team one up over Demolition. Warrior shows Von Erich what's in store for him. Colon still has plenty of fight in him.
-
Hennig calls his shot for the upcoming Bash. The Alliance has their eyes on more gold as Arn & Larry target the US tag straps. Race seems to be playing both sides between Luge & SId. Hyatt helps her new team as only she can.
-
Jimmy Hart's new charge arrives and he may have clipped Ware's wing. Passionate promo by the Funker. Dynamite Kid pulls off the upset by toppling Titan. Love the tension when Slick & co walked in on JYD & Warlord's promo. The Million Dollar Man is here, The Russian Nightmare is here and Nailz has been cut loose. What a moment. Flair has his sights set firmly on the gold with no care for who's holding it. JYD and the Warlord are two tough men but Power & Glory are a tough team and that made the difference. Looks like Andre may still have a place in the Corporation. Funk becomes a two time WWF champ but Flair doesn't let him enjoy it.

Huge announcement for the first Night of Legends! Papa-San....Mr Olympia...and the Fullers. Huge gets for the area. Great bookend with Steve going off to investigate after the first match ten ending the show with the arrival of the Dirty White Boys. The Fullers have been in SMW for a cup of coffee and are already making the Armstrongs miserable. The trick with the contract was as Devious as it was simple. Dutch wanted to be at the Night of Legends and he got it in the worst way. Orndorff v Gordy one more time. The Piledriver is legal BUT the loser is out for the rest of the year! Now those are stakes.
-
Hogan gets his hands on Morrow makes for hell of an show opener. Idol must have a plan if he's agreeing to face Storm & Young. The tag title match is giving off MAJOR tortoise/hare vibes.
-
Okay Hyatt just going up to the Steiners and going "congrats boys, i'm your manager now" is pretty funny. Muta's back baby! Wish I could've seen Paul's face. Luger looks good in his first match back. The Alliance continues its focus on Sting and the World title.
-
New format's pretty nice. Easy to read for sure. Wild Dog is finally getting his shot.
-
Colon channels his inner Rocky in the cold open. YOU CAN TELL HOW INTENSE ARCIDI & NORTON ARE BECAUSE THEY'RE YELLING! Idol maybe wasn't as confident in Dundee as he claimed last week. Storm returns to even the odds. The Bodies just keep finding reasons not to show up for work. Garvin & Slater are just the guys for a taped fist match. Latin Desire are rediscovering their darkside. Muraco makes a Magnificnt return, running off Rich & Blanchard. Houston is already regretting running his mouth now that the Maniac is back. Barr looks to show Cobra how a frog splash is really done. Demolition and the Japanese give us a taste of the mayhem coming. The show ends with a massacre by the monstrous World champion. I truly hope Colon is ready.
-
TNT may have walked away with the titles but Jarrett in particular had a horrible night getting there. You just know the DC are gonna cry conspiracy after Bullet Bob restarted that final match. Looks like we're getting some more of Gordy/Orndorff. I'm sure as hell not complaining. I think the Russians are gonna want a word with Captain Red(neck) after that screw up. I wonder who those men in the dirty white masks could be?
-
Here's hoping that UWF & WCW can reach an agreement because that Meada/Vader rematch would be so much money!
-
Slater & Garvin don't appear to have solved anything. An abundance of bad blood allow Canek & Mascaras to emerge as the #1 contenders. The Bodies are less than impressed.
-
Power & Glory v JYD/Warlord gets a major boost with the tag titles entering the mix.
-
The Terminator is coming in to maintain law & order. Santana/Funk 2 is gonna be huge.
-
Colon is riding so high but Adnan promises to remind everyone what his monster can do. Gagne finally introduces his Ace. I gotta say Andersson is a nice touch considering the Gagne's tried to break him in irl. Houston adds to the number of open challenges at WrestleRock. Hangman makes an example for the Bossman. Young isn't taking Idol's abandonment lying down. Demolition are heading to a major clash with the Japanese trio. Morrow & Hogan exchange heated words. Payne is taking the Bad News he received rather well. I don't know what I expected the Ultimate Warrior to do upon his arrival but calling out Von Erich wasn't it.

Hotbody has certainly landed on his feet after the dissolution of Pretty in Pink.

Modern Day Smoky Mountain Wrestling.

SMW Slam #6 Knoxville Civic Auditorium Studio Taped on 4/24/26, Posted to Youtube on 5/30/26 Commissioner: “Wildfire” Tommy Rich On Commentary: Gene Jackson & Dr Tom Prichard Ring Announcer: Kyle Davis Backstage Interviewer: Linda Kay We get a cold open in which the new SMW Heavyweight Champion Richard Holiday is sitting in a beachchair under an umbrella. In the background, Alex Hammerstone can be seen flexing for the benefit of female beachgoers. Holiday takes a big sip of an obnoxiously colored beverage and addresses the camera. “Consumers…i know you were all excited to see your new Smoky Mountain Wrestling Heavyweight champion in person. I know you had the date circled on your calendar, you scrimped and saved every tip you got from the three jobs you work to barely get by. But alas, i must disappoint you. You see consumers, a prize like the SMW Heavyweight title (Holiday turns to another beachchair where the title belt is sitting on a pillow. Holiday fluffs the pillow before continuing) needs, nay demands proper presentation especially after undergoing a three decade hiatus. (In the background, Hammerstone is hit by a beachball. When the kids come to get it back, Hammerstone pops it with his bare hands and hands the now ruined ball back to the kids who leave dejected.) As such i am sparing no expense to give you, the faithful consumers of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the championship presentation you deserve. Gourmet foods, the finest champagne and all the luxuries that…well let’s be honest none of you can even imagine. But that’s okay, because you won’t have to imagine when you are my honored guest for the big event next week.” Holiday reclines back in the chair with a contented sigh while Hammerstone runs across the beach to kick over a sandcastle to the delight of the ladies he’s been showing off for. We start with a video package showing some of the highlights of SMW’s original run followed by the new SMW intro set to Smoky Mountains by Conner Smith. Jackson & Prichard welcome everyone to the show going over the tournament matches that will be on today’s show. We then get the now standard SMW intro set to Smoky Mountains by Conner Smith. Jackson & Prichard welcome everyone to the show going over the matches that will be on today’s show, putting special emphasis on today's main event in which The Southern will face The Good Brothers in a rematch from a few weeks ago. Match #1 “Second to None” Tim Bosby defeats CJ Money w/Mama Money with the “Bos-plex” (Chaos Theory) SMW Commissioner “Wildfire” Tommy Rich joins Kyle Davis at the podium for the tag team title presentation. The Andersons come out, Arn included, to a major pop. Rich hands them the titles And after the obligatory “you deserve it” chant Arn cuts a promo saying how much pro wrestling has done for the Anderson family, how proud he is of both Brock & CW, Brock for carrying on the family legacy and CW for representing their family for over three decades at this point Match #2 “The Golden One” Cassandra Golden defeats “Deathbed Tease” Raven Black with the “Midas Touch” (Spear). Black is fuming as Golden celebrates with the fans. We get a VTR where a latina sits on a throne with a very recognizable title placed prominently on her lap. “Listen up, peasants of Smoky Mountain Wrestling for La Princessa has a royal proclamation. Next week you, the unwashed masses of Knoxville will finally have something to get excited about as the NWA World Women’s champion, “La Princessa” Tiffany Nieves graces a Smoky Mountain rin with her presence. And i expect a reception fit for royalty and an opponent worthy of the reatest NWA Women’s champion of all time. Get it? Got it? Bueno!” Main Event The Southern 6 (Kerry Morton & Alex Taylor) defeat The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) when a pier-six brawl broke out and as the ref was attempting to restore order, NWA World Champion “The Thrill-Billy” Silas Mason rushed the ring and planted Anderson with the “Thrill Ride” (multiple rotation Black Hole Slam) allowing Taylor to get the pin. The show ends with the now fully assembled Southern 6 standing tall in the ring as commentary agree this means nothing good for SMW. -
Orndorff shows Bullet Bob just how concerned he is over getting fined over the Piledriver. IRS is really on the warpath. I think Stunning Steve's announcement got under Dutch's skin a little. I'd be careful of taking it out of Ahmed if I were him. Great job hyping the tag title tournament.
-
Jammer should be careful putting out an open challenge. They tend to be a double edge sword. Blanchard & Rich announce their partnership with the intention to take down Muraco once and for all. Norton finally finds a worthy opponent for the arm wrestling challenge and he & Arcini hit the panic button. Idol reunites with the Superstar. Boss man gets his hands on Neil but the Hangman gets the last word. Hogan finally finds some serious backup in the form of Demolition.
