  1. Austin has cut ties with the last of his Idols. Icenman with that classic heel move, stealing the title he couldn't officially win. Colon follows up on his successful title retention by calling his shot for the world title. One errant punch makes the Heavenly Bodies double champions as well as the breakup of Garvin & Slater! Morrow and his goons once again put beat down on the Hulkster. Some quick thinking by Adnan keeps the title on his monster.
  2. Criminals beware, Mean Gene is on the case!
  3. Los Guerreros remember their matches with matches with the Bombers very definitely then I do. Konnan squeaks by Chono. Houston's on his own. Another flash win for Norton. We see a dangerous new side of the Tribal Nation
  4. NWA World Championship Wrestling. Taped at the WTBS Studio. Airing 5/14/83 on the Superstation. With you host “The Dean of Professional Wrestling” Gordon Solie. NWA World Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair joins Solie putting over his appearances at both the Savannah Civic Center and the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center on the coming loop paying special attention to the later. He says the main event in Augusta will see Wahoo McDaniel defend the NWA National Championship against "The Soulman" Rocky Johnson. Not only will the winner walk away with the National title but will have earned the right to challenge him for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at The Omni on May 31st. "Pistol" Pez Whatley & Norvell Austin defeat The Medics (two jobbers in masks) with a double suplex. Bad News Brown w/Jim Cornette defeats Bill White with the "Ghetto Blaster". Rocky Johnson joins Solie and puts over his big title opportunity in Augusta. He says he's been chasing McDaniel all around the nation and he's come so close, so many times but "that wily injun" keeps slipping away with the title. Johnson vows that will come to an end in Augusta and after that, it's on to The Omni on May 31st to become the first black NWA World Heavyweight Championship. A match between two enhancement talent ends in a no contest when "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer storms the ring and beats the tar out of both men, finally planting them both with power slams before security manages to wrangle him out of the studio. Brad Armstrong defeats Red Dog Lane with a Russian Legsweep. NWA National Champion "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel joins Solie at the podium. He says the fact he has to give "that Soul-shuffling fool" Rocky Johnson another shot at the NWA National title is a disgrace. He says he's the most dominant man to ever hold the title and he should have already been awarded the match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at The Omni but as per usual, the championship committee is stacking the deck against him. Not that it'll matter because he's going to put Johnson in his place one more time then on to the 31st where he'll claim what he's always deserved, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Main Event. non title NWA National Champion "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel defeats Keith Larson with the "Tomahawk chop."
  5. TNT and the Destruction Crew are both making strong cases for being the tag title tournament favorites. You just struck heel gold by pairing IRS with "good Christian" Ron White. Orndorff is sounding more and more like a ticking time bomb.
  6. The Nightmares show they can get it done whether it's one-on-one or two-on-two.
  7. Tunney starts the show with a game changing announcement. Jake is out of KoTR and Nailz is in. The headlines keep coming as Terry Funk returns and reveals he's the enforcer for the WWF title match. Titan & Spivey get physical. Hart's crew are getting things together. Andre on a rampage is a nightmare for everyone. Flair maintains his innocence. Taylor finds out the hard way that Snuka can't be bought.
  8. Love the detail on the opening sequence. Sting helps the In-Laws get the W in the opener. The Steiners derail the Orient Express. Is Pillman finally rid of the Mountie? I like the end of the US tag title match but some of the match description confuses me. Why are Morton & Gibson working together if they're on opposing team? Vader crushes Kendall and teases a titanic clash with Tenryu. Hennig survives the Nightmare. Hall stops the Rock(er). R.I.P Big Josh. Rhodes gets a send-off worthy of a Dream. The three-way powder keg between Doom, Road Warriors & the Steiners ignites. Dustin & Steamboat get the win but the Alliance refuses to let them enjoy it. A returning Luger is instrumental in Sting slaying the mad titan.
  9. Georgia Championship Wrestling Live from the Centreplex Coliseum Arena in Macon. One Man Gang w/Jim Cornette defeats The Intern (Johnny Rich in a mask) with the "747" in under 3 minutes! "Pistol" Pez Whatley defeats "Maniac" Matt Borne by disqualification when Gene Anderson broke up a pinfall. A 2 on 1 beating ensued until security intervened. Bad News Allen defeats Johnny Rich with the "Ghetto Blaster". Brad Armstrong defeats Gene Anderson with a Russian Legsweep. Main Event. NWA National Championship. "The Soulman" Rocky Johnson defeats "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel(c) by disqualification when McDaniel threw Johnson over the top rope.
  10. Georgia Championship Wrestling Live from the Memorial Auditorium in Columbus. "Pistol" Pez Whatley defeats Gene Anderson after botched interference from Matt Borne. One Man Gang w/Jim Cornette defeats Johnny Rich with the "747" in under 5 minutes! "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel defeats Brad Armstrong with his feet on the ropes. "Wildfire" Tommy Rich vs "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer end in a double countout. Main Event NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & "The Soulman" Rocky Johnson defeat NWA National Champion "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel & Bad News Allen when Flair made Allen submit to the figure four. McDaniel & Johnson were eager to continue but security kept them apart. Interestingly, Jim Cornette came down and helped Allen to the back.
  11. Jackson & Prichard welcome everyone to the show going over the tournament matches that will be on today’s show. Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match “Heavyweight Hustle” Calvin Tankman defeats “Mr Pec-tacular” Jesse Godderz with th “Tankman Driver” SMW Commissioner “Wildfire” Tommy Rich joins Kyle Davis at the podium to announce the participants in the women’s showcase at Volunteer Slam. Former WWE Divas/Women's champion will take on former NWA World Women’s Champion Kenzie Page. Smoky Mountain Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinal Match The Southern 6 (Kerry Morton & Alex Taylor) defeat The Good Brothers when an illegal shot from Morton allowed Taylor to pin Anderson with a handful of tights. Next week’s matches: Thom Latimer vs Richard holiday, The Andersons vs The Country Gentlemen & James Storm vs Mike Mondo Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match “Iron Demon” Shane Mercer defeats "Chocolate Thunder” Willie Mack when Mercer “accidently” kicked the ref into the ropes when Mack was going for a Frog Splash allowing him to hit the “Moon-sault and Battery”.
  12. Bullet Bob breaks down the rules one more time for the folks who weren't listening the first time. Major debut for Bam Bam as he gets a win and two fiery promos. Horner calls out all the people on his list. Orndorff is running out of patience with this "no piledriver" bs. Austin is doing an admirable job fighting off Dutch & Ahmed. The Heavyweight tournament looks like one big banger.
  13. Between Bad News & The Warrior, the AWA World Title picture is getting a significant buff. The arm wrestling challenge is a nice little way for Norton to get heat. I thought this might be where the metal door segments were headed. Young's faith in Idol is seriously shaken. Boss man doesn't look to intimidated by Neil.
  14. Vader is coming! SuperBrawl is going to give Tampa a show they'll never forget.
  15. NWA World Championship Wrestling. Taped at the WTBS Studio. Airing 5/7/83 on the Superstation. With you host “The Dean of Professional Wrestling” Gordon Solie Solie is welcoming the fans to the show when Jim Cornette who says he’s been putting Mama Cornette’s money to good use, assembling the greatest force professional wrestling has EVER seen. Over the next few weeks, he’ll be revealing the main who will be running Georgia starting tonight. Johnny RIch gets the show properly started, with a win over an enhancement talent. One Man Gang w/Cornette absolutely squashes some poor soul in more than one way. The studio crowd goes insane when Ric Flair joins Solie at the podium. Flair says he came to Georgia because it has everything he’s looking for, the brightest lights, the best competition and the most beautiful women in the world (he winks at the studio audience earning a loud, feminine cheer). He puts over the upcoming GCW events telling the people at home to show up every chance they got, whether it’s the Memorial Auditorium in Columbus this Sunday, the Centreplex Coliseum Arena in Macon this Monday or the big show at The Omni right here in Atlanta later this month where he’ll defend the NWA World Championship against whoever the championship committee puts in front of him. Brad Armstrong looks sharp in a win. Matt Borne & Gene Anderson get a tag team showcase. “Wildfire” Tommy Rich joins Solie at the podium. He puts over his ongoing rivalry with Buzz Sawyer but before too long the Mad Dog rushes out and a brawl breaks out that has Solie frantically calling security. In the Main Event, Rocky Johnson puts his athleticism and charisma on full display as he KO’s his opponent with the Soulman Shuffle.
  16. Titan & Spivey are headed for a hell of a collision. Mr Backlund has a firm grip on Nailz, for now. The Ronin's first outing with Hart is unsuccessful. Love the character work of Taylor paying his opponent off. Always love a good battle royal. Roberts is down, Flair is the prime suspect and there's about to be a pissed off giant that's about to make it everyone else's problem.
  17. I just know that The Assassin & Wild Dog had those poor fans running for their lives. Another bad night for PiP.
  18. Okay if i'm Tasha, I am SERIOUSLY reconsidering my hiring practices.
  19. SMW Slam #4 Knoxville Civic Auditorium Studio Taped on 4/24/26, Posted to Youtube on 4/25/20 Commissioner: “Wildfire” Tommy Rich On Commentary: Gene Jackson & Dr Tom Prichard Ring Announcer: Kyle Davis Backstage Interviewer: Linda Kay We start with a video package showing some of the highlights of SMW’s original run followed by the new SMW intro set to Smoky Mountains by Conner Smith. Jackson & Prichard welcome everyone to the show going over the tournament matches that will be on today’s show. (Harris’ video details his rise through southern indies such as EPW and Memphis Wrestling. Mondo’s tells of his journey from the Spirit Squad to ROH to his current work in the NWA) Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Championship Tournament First Round Match Mike Mondo defeats Martin “Hangtime” Haris with “Gut Check” (Gutbuster) (The Express’ video is a highlight reel of their legendary career while the Gentlemen’s video focuses on their status as one of the top teams in the NWA) Smoky Mountain Tag Team Championship Tournament First Round Match The Country Gentlemen (AJ & KC Cazana) w/Joe Cazana defeat The Rock n Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) after Joe hits Gibson with an enormous hardback version of what he claims is the SMW rulebook. Dryer’s focuses on his long stay in WW and his adjustment to the indies) Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Championship Tournament First Round Match “Cowboy” James Storm defeats “The Nomad” Bishop Dyer with “Last Call” (Superkick)
  20. HBK has been in the territory one day and already has found his biggest fan. I remember Dutch's sudden sickness from my SMW watch a while back. Grade A heel move right there. The commentary booth being his safe space is a nice trick to keep him an Austin apart. I.R.S is gunning for his first real fan favorite. Horner on the other hand, is putting his focus entirely on Ron Wright. Ahmed is being built into a true bruiser. More multi man chaos to end the show. SMW is quickly becoming the wildest hour of TV in the game.
  21. Gama shifts his focus to retaining his TV title. Burke is riding high despite coming up short in the hunt for the world title. Magnum may have just sealed Morrow's death warrant putting him in a cage with Hogan. Idol finds a particularly brutal way to cut ties with Storm. Gotta hand it to Vinne, Barr is a hell of a get. Jammer gets too show off. Payne is back from his suspension. Jackie is proud of her boys. Fun main event that gives energy to the Bombers/Guerreros feud.
  22. The fact that I could actually see WCW declaring two different team as co (US) tag champions. It's exactly the kind of zany thing they'd do around this time.
  23. I'm sure the DC made a hell of an impression with their devastating finisher. If Dutch was looking for muscle, he made a fine choice with Ahmed. Black wasn't Bad enough to handle the Fab One. Orndorff keeps finding new ways to win. Ivan Koloff & Dick Murdoch, not the duo I'd like to meet in a bar. Wow Boris made great time getting back from the Kremlin.
  24. Titan makes quick work of his first title defense. But Spivey represents a whole new level of danger. The King and the Genius getting heat like only they can. The First Family get the win even as Quake us distracted by Tugboat. Whoever that is, they have to be important for Tunney to clear everyone out. Valiant's gonna have a hard time dancing after being in the figure four. Roberts ruins the victory party by planting Ric with the DDT. The Taylor Made Man is looking sharp in his debut. Forget the American Dream, it's time for the WWF to experience Akeem the African Dream!
  25. SMW Slam #3 Knoxville Civic Auditorium Studio Taped on 4/3/26, Posted to Youtube on 4/18/20 Commissioner: “Wildfire” Tommy Rich On Commentary: Gene Jackson & Dr Tom Prichard Ring Announcer: Kyle Davis Backstage Interviewer: Linda Kay We start with a video package showing some of the highlights of SMW’s original run followed by the new SMW intro set to Smoky Mountains by Conner Smith. Jackson & Prichard welcome everyone to the show going over the tournament matches that will be on today’s show. (Rossier’s promo is naturally focused on his lengthy tenure in WWE while Holiday recount his days in MLW alongside MJF and Hammerstone) Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Championship Tournament First Round Match “The Most Marketable Man in Pro Wrestling” Richard Holiday defeats “Mr No Days Off” Fred Rosser after taking advantage of a distracted ref to hit the “Signature Move” (Uppercut to the uprights) followed by “Rarified Air” (Rotating vertical suplex) Mike Mondo cuts an intense promo telling Martin Harris that he’d better come ready for the fight of his life because next week’s it’s go time, it’s his time, it’s Mondo time ... .IT'S GUT CHECK TIME!!! (The Andersons split focus between CW’s career in ECW and beyond and Brock’s quest to uphold his father’s legacy. The Hard Way’s video has Vaughn talking up his own career as a journeyman as well as McKenzie’s tremendous upside) Smoky Mountain Tag Team Championship Tournament First Round Match The Andersons (Brock & CW) w/Arn Anderson defeats The Hard Way (Jack Vaughn & Dalton McKenzie) after Brock pinned McKenzie with a DDT. We get a pre-taped promo by Bishop Dyer where he tells Storm that the hangover he’s constantly battling will feel like a mother’s kiss compared to what happens to him next week. Next week's matches: Martin “Hangtime” Harris vs Mike Mondo, The Rock n Roll Express vs The Country Gentlemen & “Cowboy” James Storm vs “The Nomad” Bishop Dyer (Latimer talks about his time in TNA/Impact and his recent reign as NWA World champion.
