  1. In these times I always remember two things Number 1, from the March 1984 WON: ...Tour did well but Hayes/Gordy vs. Baba/Tsuruta for the tag titles could not sell out Korakuen Hall (a relatively small venue). Freebirds controlled almost the whole match but a bloody Hayes was counted out at the 17:14 mark Number 2 is how there was a new attendance record for the Sumo Hall IIRC around 1988 that was a whopping 12 000 fans. Yeah, good old times... and they knew how to work, too!

  3. Take advantage of the internet. Watch some classic AJW ( http://youtube.com/user/MXNT41 ) and get the AJPW run of Choshu Ricky / Ricky Choshu from theditch (ah, it's 6AM and I'm falling again into the old Eurosport habits as they mixed his name frequently up.... shit, I need old Eurosport NJPW with Otto Wanz as commentator naming every move the "Big Otto")
  4. Are you talking about the fake masked men in 1994 WCW during the Butcher turn?
  5. When was the last time this didn't apply to Jimmy Snuka - 1981?
  6. Were there towns where you could get NESN and PRISM and thus were able to watch two almost identical shows on the same day?
  7. Yeah, piledrivers were not taken seriously in the Sayama NJPW era. I wonder where Dynamite picked that habit up and how it came to Japan, I doubt it was during his IWE tour. I was suprised when I found out that the last round of an European Rounds match was often used as a "highspot and no sell" round that lead to a time limit draw. Great way of not having a decisive finish but still pleasing the crowd. But the La Galactica no sell sounds rather strange to me as she is Mexican. I haven't seen enough Zenjo from the Sato/Yokota era to say that this was extraordinary for AJW standards. Maybe the girls were not only responsible for the majority of 90s movesets but also for things like the piledriver inflation
  8. Even if Michaels is brain dead he has probably only taken less than half of the nose candy Flair has.
  9. 6 a.m. -- Robbins: Six-mile run. Rassler: Hit snooze button. If only....
  10. The Euro heavyweights were always at least decent draws when they reached a certain standing. This poster is a simple screw up
  11. Bix and the other Lawler fans should review his Japan stuff *evil laugh*
  12. Who did the announcing on the WWF TBS Show after the Black Saturday? That should be the only possible WWF tenure of Solie.
  13. Steph already had her personal boy toy with that Test-lookalike Daniel Rodimer who was fired last year. She was the only reason he was signed for so long.

  15. If you look back at the interactions of Trump and DiBiase it seems possible for DiBiase to get the title, dismiss Savage and wait for a Hogan return
  16. The Kings of Wrestlings theme in NOAH is "Sharp Dressed Man". They even do the Fantastics jumping high five spot during their intro.
  17. Why the Mero hate? Just look at his 95 ppvs matches against Pillman and DDP - or do you want to tell me that Mr. "I need to plan every move" DDP was the guy responsible for their good feud?
  18. If you don't have the required sound codec register this file http://home.arcor.de/indikator/SC726DEC.AX
  19. I would like to know your thoughts on the match I uploaded as the style is pretty unique. It is amazing how much the style in CWA changed every five years from 81 till 91 There was also a nice 6 Man from the NJPW 83 set with Inoki vs. Wright exchanges that I thought were interesting. And I am still sad that the TM I vs. Mile Zrno match from 83 was clipped to hell. Biggest disappointment I had last year regarding wrestling
  20. Go to the Multi Media forum. And yes, the Royal Rumble 1991 match could very well be the the best WWE tag team match ever. I prefer it to pretty much every MX and R&R Express match
  21. When I was watching more TM I era NJPW matches Sayama was probably my least favorite guy in the ring. Wait, he was better than that quarterback guy, whoever that was. I was delighted by the Los Brazos slapstick, Gran Hamada, the great Kuniaki Kobayashi and whoever else participated in the matches. Sayama? He wasn't bad, but I seriously wondered why he was chosen to be the ace. Maybe I need to watch more Sammy Lee matches
  22. As I'm a clueless European - do you all really think that PPV won't give ROH any new fans in the long run?
