  1. Nah, I'm not so dopey that I thought THAT was true. But Alverez criticizes lots of wrestlers, it's his job. But around a year or two ago his criticisms of Punk just came off as if Punk ran over his dog and I have idea why. And I know he's against unnessecery stiffness, and rightly so. But the guy has detested McCool far more than any other mediocre current WWE Woman wrestler recently, gone off on how "talented" similar stiffs like Alicia Fox is and his "She'll get hers" came off really weird. Also, his changes to his newsletter make total sense. He said himself "Why do we need two Observers?"
  2. Oh come on. I don't remember what it was with that. But the dude seemed to really have a dislike for Punk that felt like more than, "I'm not a fan of his wrestling." I havve no idea what for.
  3. Jesus Christ, that Rock interview is the biggest Non-story ever. It was Duane Johnson at an MMA show being interviewed by an MMA reporter. He plugged his movie and put over the show he was plugging his movie on by saying the stock answer of "I'd have considered the UFC if it had been as big as it is now!" If Roller Derby suddenly hit huge and was on PPV and was the big thing you'd have Rock saying "I'm plugging my movie and I'd have considered Roller Derby!" I read his awful book. He, and most guys in wrestling historically wanted to play in the NFL more than anything, if you're gonna go with the "What real sport would I have wanted to do" deal.
  4. Looks aside, the point I was getting at was that it was really weird hearing Alverez get that upset over McCool stiffing her, going as far to say on air that McCool is going to get hers, and coming off like he wants someone to hurt McCool. It was that weird place he goes, ala him hating CM Punk for all kinds of personal weird reasons.
  5. Different strokes and all that. She's way muscular. Has a pretty face, though.
  6. Growing up in the area watching the TV, Lou Abano was THE manager in the WWF. Edit: The Murdoch arguement going round and round on WO radio with Dave and Larry Matysik and Alverez popping in here and there to show he knows these names is interesting.
  7. Alverez' latest crush appears to be NXT manchick Kaitlyn, and his rage at McCool kicking her stiff on NXT is hilarious. "She'll get hers..."
  8. Alverez complaining that the promos leading up for Mir/ Crocop were boring because they're about "I'm ready and He's got a reach, etc" and not Pro Wrestling promos is funny.
  9. Nah, I always thought the cage match was incredibly over rated. The night of the show I remember liking Razor/ Diesel more. While THAT opinion may have changed, I still think the cage match isn't the classic it's made out to be. And boy, some people out there react like frothing maniacs when you say that cage match wasn't that great.
  10. Or, silly comedy writers said "Goldust amd Goldberg! It'll be funny!" with absolutely no ultra weird sinister ulterior motives. I was watching that Elimination Chamber match recently and Goldberg is booked like the world's biggest badass ever in it, and the crowd is super hot for him. It took HHH, Flair, and the sledgehammer to put him down. It was great.
  11. Fuck, they put that Lesnar/ Big Show moment at the top of greatest Smackdown moments on the SD DVD that they put out last year.
  12. I was going to start quoting my favorite parts , until I quickly realized that the entire chapter was dead-on perfect and had me laughing here. Has someone thought to link these to WO? Or submit them as "a new column about movies", or even just link 'em at that message board from hell?
  13. Dave is the one who'd I'd think would have realized that it was just a joke. I'm thinking Todd. And here ya go. Seriously, does he wear a tinfoil hat? The LAST thing people were thinking was that Rock or Lesnar were going to come out and confront Punk. A Hogan impression isn't a plug for TNA. Does he not get that this was a segment where the most hated heel in WWE is bashing things that are generally remembered fondly to get heat while they're doing a retrospective of "wild moments"? NO ONE, outside of him and a small, small, handful of people could have watched that and be left with "It reminded me of when it was great and they were putting over people who don't work there!"
  14. Yeah, it was totally meant as a joke. Just like Punk saying he'd never throw a foe in a body of water when that was the highlight of his ECW fued with Chavo. But I'd guess they'll not understand that.
  15. The "BOXING IS DEAD" because Dana White basically put on a fixed fight with his legend vs. a fat boxer who didn't care, so Dana can have an "EC-DUB! EC-DUB!" type moment, thing going on over there is hilarious.
  16. Dude, when did you get cable? 1998? The WWE has changed quite significantly since cable television came out.
  17. What is she talking about? These are before my time. I figure she's talking about Apartment Wrestling and the occassional pic of Fallen Angel.
  18. People say it's cause Vince doesn't like to be called "Junior". I think it's more that a grown man in Rasslin' who's supposed to be tough sounds weird to most people with "junior" after their name. Besides Dory Funk Jr. has there been anyone who REALLY eclipsed their Dad or whoever while tagged with being called "Junior"? And if you are a grown man, would you really still want to be called "Junior"? I asked Dory about the name change to "Hoss" in the WWF on a WO Radio show some years back and he said that he'd actually always been called "Hoss" in school and by his family and he had no problem with it.
  19. Good guys making fun of heels by calling them "sissies/ gay/ light in the loafers/ etc." has been part of wrestling since there's been wrestling. I love people who are all "It's a terrible HHH thing".
  20. Unless you're Kane, who always loudly calls the refs by their first names during matches, ala : "Come on, Charles!" Our old favorite from the late 90's was "collusion". Somebody was always either in collusion or suspected of being in collusion.

  22. Well, don't ya know that the first time the Von Erichs beat the Freebirds after the fued started, the angle was over and they had to break up the Freebirds? Oh wait.
  23. It's replaced that feeling for me I used to get from boxing. Wrestling is still just fucking fake, as much as I adore it.
  24. If he doesn't, it's because some fan favorite paid off the voters.
  25. Guys like Ricky Steamboat have no respect for the business.
