  1. Hey, the Jack Brisco obit in the Observer is pretty fucking great, despite the typical "Dave being all over the place" stuff.
  2. The Hogan/Muraco fued lasted a few months and was a big deal at least in MSG... and led into Hogan/ Bundy, which was a major angle. It wasn't as great as Hogan/ Orndorff but it still headlined Mania.
  3. Some Todd Martin wackiness re: tonight's RAW See, old videogame references are A-OK . Geek story writes itself. He's been a heel who pisses off the faces by avoiding matches since he won the belt. He's a bully. The Simpsons reference here makes no sense, and the whole Jericho deal is funny. It was supposed to put over that anything can happen in the Royal Rumble. Get a grip. Since he's been a face. It's been brought up again and again. What a turd.
  4. From The Observer That's a shame. I don't think I ever saw any footage of him, maybe a clip of him and Lawler. But I've read about him.
  5. And how's this supposed to work? So, you can be a top wrestling reporter and commentator and not watch it? "You know, it's been many a year since I've watched Monday Night Football. I hanker back to the years of ABC. Cosell, Gifford and the gay antics of Dandy Don ...these are the things that made Monday Night Football great. So I can reasonably say, last weeks MNF Broadcast on ESPN was awful, no matter who won."
  6. Babinsack's latest column is a hoot. He doesn't get to it further, although I'd love to read his take on Judas selling out Jesus to the Jewish Elders and Romans. THIS really gave me the giggles, but I'm a gnat: As an old NWA fan, I never knew I wasn't supposed to be a WWE fan as well. And "Heady" days of the cable wars? The only thing "heady" was getting your head ready with weed to watch a lot of wrestling, especially the "History" of the Paul Heyman days. Seriously, what does that even mean? "I RESPECT the glory days of EC dub!" What? Bix, you read a book of this guy's "sophisticated" ramblings? Jesus, I'd be like Brando at the end of Apocolypse Now,..."the horror..."
  7. You know those DVD sets you see at the supermarket that are these tin boxes with a few discs inside? Usually it's stuff like "WAR:The Warriest Parts of World War 2", "The Best Of Red Skelton" or "The Big Country on DVD". I've always glanced at the rack looking for some wrestling thinking it's an obvious choice but no dice. Until now. I picked this set up for 9 bucks yesterday. I know the Pat O'Conner/ Buddy Rogers match is the one we've all seen and is on the new WWE "World Championship" dvd and the Lawler/ Savage cage match must be the one we all have, but the rest of it looks like a blast. And it was packaged in a snazzy tin box with Buddy Rogers on the front. I can't wait to see the extra, "Wrestling: It's A Laugh!" http://www.timelessvideo.com/dvds/wrestling.html
  8. Since HBK/ Taker at last year's Mania was awesome...I'm willing to give a rematch another chance. And Hart wasn't "groveling", he was doing a "Hey, I'm willing to let bygones be bygones" deal and then Vince had to be a douchebag. And he will pay for his douchebaggery with a beating! From what I saw of Impact, it stunk.
  9. The first time I heard that was on the A&E Biography on Hogan from the Mid/ Late 90's.
  10. Meltzer and Alverez talking boxing lately is some funny shit in all the wrong ways. Can someone get Naimark out of "retirement" to comment on them? Please?
  11. http://forum.f4wonline.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=89040 Just...wow...

  13. I read about that Luger/ Brody match so much before I ever saw it. I was so excited to see this legendary "Lugar being scared and running away" deal. When I finally saw it I realized it was just Brody no selling and Luger eventually just saying, "Fuck this shit. I'm going to Crockett anyway."
  14. Hagler was playing heel, but was becoming a face to certain parts of the country. They really made the wrong choice by putting Leonard over. How about Dave covering Louis/ Schmeling? THAT'D be good shit.
  15. Gee, I wonder what Dave meant there.
  16. Sorry if someone already mentioned it, but Roller Derby and Pro Wresting are more alike than wrestling and MMA because Roller Derby and Wrestling are fake.
  17. I was surprised to hear him say he was shocked no kid was dressed as Mistico, I know he lives in Southern Cali, but were kids there really dressing up as Mistico? I was waiting for him to get giddy saying kids were dressed as Kimbo Slice and Randy Couture, but alas....
  18. I had to turn it off as I wanted to scream into my mic hoping they'd magically hear me bellowing "YOU'RE WRONG! SO FUCKING WRONG!"
  19. The latest WO has this excerpt from Hulk's new book.
  20. From Jeff Hamlin's TNA Report
  21. Did this joke elsewhere, I liked it enough to do it again.
  22. Yup. According to Meltzer, Punk is in the doghouse again because during the last European Tour, people backstage felt that he was not "dressing like a champion should". Taker calmly took him aside and said to him backstage that he (Punk) is the champ and is the face of the company, so he should dress in public like a Champion should. Punk supposedly replied, "Ok, but what about John Cena?" It was overheard by many and it got back to the office and supposedly some people felt that Punk saying that was him saying he was as big of a star as Cena and not just a comment on clothing, and therefore was punished tonight to "put him in his place". And since Punk is not very popular backstage, the boys are happy about it. I love Pro Wrestling, it's so stupid.
  23. Ross and Grisham are really good together, actually. When Ross gets all "surly" on Todd, Todd totally laughs it off. And Todd does a lot of lines to "purposely" set off Ross. But when a match is kicking ass and going full tilt they both drop it and are really good together. It helps that SmackDown has been fucking awesome as of late.
