  1. I have a google sheets document that has two pages. First page is all-time and second page is for the current year. There I list each match I've watched with a star rating over 4 stars. I do this, because my memory sucks.
  2. Dixie from japw and special k. Your points I agree with and will be using.

    WrestleMania 32

I'm not sure Undertaker would decline. 1. He knows how pro wrestling works. You go out on your back and hopefully make a star out of it. 2. Braun Strowman visually is a good matchup for the Undertaker. It'd be monster vs monster and Taker has never had any problem with working those matchups. 3. His desire from the past 5 or so years of having workrate classics are no longer realistic with how broken down he is. Strowman would definitely help set a slower pace befitting a 50 year old. 4. Everyone worth a Taker match right now are guys who's on injury hiatuses. No one that is active and not already assigned different matches by now are guys with the credibility required to work a guy who up til recently had a 20+ winning streak at this event. I don't think its a gpod matchup personally and Strowman would generally fall in the same category as all the other active wrestlers who I just said wasn't ready for it, but obviously he has tremendous size that Vince likes and that usually helps Vince overlook his flaws and gp with the match planning. Besides, Undertaker already feuded with Bray Wyatt so I think Strowman is a logical offshoot of that feud. I can't imagine him wanting Owens, Zayn, Styles, etc. A tag match also doesn't make sense. Unless they kissed and made up that I didn't see, Taker and Brock are supposed to hate each other. Unless we are running a Russo staple (partners who can't get along) it just doesn't make sense. Finally, as just mentioned, they have had a serious case of the injury bug among tbeir workers. They have to find ways to stretch matches out to fill that 4 hour show. Counterpoint. Strowman sucks and is nowhere near ready for a showcase singles match. He might be the worst choice of anybody on the roster.
  4. I've been trying to figure out what to do for fantasy booking. I've been mulling over a bunch of ideas from seeing what would happen if WCW or ECW didn't close to re-doing the brand split. What I have settled upon is taking the TNA concept and going with it. TNA was really a great idea. Start a new national promotion to fill the gap of the dead WCW and ECW. The weekly ppvs was not a horrible idea. Memphis ran weekly shows at the Mid-South Coliseum and did well for decades. However, TNA started with a horrible name, lingerie battle royals and hardcore dwarf matches. It's easy to see why it barley survived. What I am going to do is start TNA over with a new name, but with the same limitations. They will be running the same shows (weekly ppv from Alabama, then Nashville). I'll be doing this at a slow rate, so there will be no schedule. I do have some plans going forward though. The Changes First, the name. TNA is brutal and essentially limits them from the start. Go with "Impact Wrestling", that is perfectly acceptable. Keep the NWA alliance and the NWA World Title, NWA World Tag Titles and the NWA X Division Title. With keeping those titles you can add the tag line "The Past, The Present, and The Future of Wrestling. Of course the talent will be changed as I see fit, including using NWA affiliates like Zero1. That's probably enough blather, let's get to it. Impact Wrestling #1 "Genesis" June 19, 2002 Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, Alabama An opening video package is played that shows some classic old-school NWA wrestling which then shows the phrase "The Past, The Present, and The Future of Wrestling". The Impact Wrestling logo appears as we enter the arena and get a pyro show. Don West is in the ring and introduces us to Impact Wrestling. He hypes the crowd before throwing it to the commentary team of Mike Tenay and Don Callis. They hype the main event "No Holds Barred" NWA World Title match between Champion Dan Severn and long time rival Ken Shamrock. We are going to start with the NWA X Division Title Tournament. The first round is this week and the semi-finals and finals will be all next week. AJ Styles vs Super Crazy (NWA X Division Title Tournament - First Round) This two have an athletic and exciting back and forth contest that Styles wins with the Styles Clash. Winner: AJ Styles @ 11:15 to advance in the tournament Backstage Jeremy Borash is with Masato Tanaka, Jeff Jarrett, and Scott Hall who were randomly drawn to be a team for a match later tonight. They are not happy to be teaming, but they will put their differences behind them to prove to the NWA championship committee that they each deserve World Title shots in the future. Low Ki vs Dixie (NWA X Division Title Tournament - First Round) A cat and mouse contest where Low Ki eventually gets the Ki Krusher for the win. Winner: Low Ki @ 5:12 to advance in the tournament Jeremy Borash is backstage with BG James and Ron Killings who are mad that they are not on the show. They demand respect going forward. Christian York & Joey Matthews vs James Maritato & Tony Mamaluke (Top Contenders) Callis & Tenay inform us the winners will get a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Champions The Sahne Twins, next week. A southern tag match with a lot of athletics. A miscommunication spot between Maritato and Mamaluke leads to Matthews pinning Mamaluke. Winners: Christian York & Joey Matthews @ 8:06 Don West is backstage with a big bracket board for the X Division Title Tournament. He updates us that Low Ki and AJ Styles have advanced. The winner of the next match faces AJ next week and the winner of The Amazing Red and Homicide faces Low Ki. Jerry Lynn vs Kid Kash (NWA X Division Title Tournament - First Round) This match has more structure than the previous X Division matches with Kash playing the heel. Lynn makes a big comeback and wins with the Cradle Piledriver. Winner: Jerry Lynn @ 12:46 to advance in the X Division Title Tournament We go to a video package showing the weight ins for Shamrock and Severn from yesterday where some sparks flew. Homicide vs The Amazing Red (NWA X Division Title Tournament - First Round) Homicide was over confident and Red gets the surprise win with a hurrancanrana. Winner; The Amazinged Red @ 11:01 Backstage Don West interviews Red and is really excited about the upset. Red wants to ride this momentum to take out Low Ki next week. Steve Corino, CW Anderson, & Nelson Knight vs Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, & Masato Tanaka After a nice shine sequence, Tanaka plays the face in peril. Jarrett and Hall show signs of good teamwork. In the end Jarrett gets The Stroke on Knight for the win. The three men celebrate together. Winners: Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, & Masato Tanaka @ 12:02 Jeremy Borash brings out NWA legends Harley Race, Dory Funk Jr., Jackie Fargo, Bob Armstrong, Corsica Joe, Sarah Lee, Bill Behrens, and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Steamboat thanks all the fans for their years of support and can not wait to watch two legends like Severn and Shamrock go at it with "No Holds Barred". NWA World Champion Dan Severn vs Ken Shamrock (No Holds Barred) This is worked as a UFC super fight which is quick and aggressive. Severn gets caught in an Ankle Lock and taps out. Winner: Ken Shamrock @ 6:12 to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title As Shamrock celebrates as the new NWA World Champion, Tenay informs us that next week we will have our first over NWA X Division Champion as the tournament concludes. Plus York & Matthews challenge The Shane Twins for the NWA World Tag Team Champions. BG James & Ron Killings will also be in action.

Should be, unless I somehow missed someone.
  7. Steve now has the curse of picking the coolest intro song ever that people are going to constantly ask about it, he posted it in the thread for the last episode Thanks for posting the song. I wouldn't have guessed it being from Taiwan. Searching for lyrics "super show" in google was a really smart decision. Great minds think alike except I didn't think Pete would like the intro song being "Freak of the week" Don't mess with Pete and theme music, I learned that lesson the hard way.
  8. Getting close to 60 votes, thanks to everybody. Keep them coming and vote often. http://placetobenation.com/pwss59/

  10. WM7 tag opener. WM6 vs Tito is two in that time frame. They're talking about Snuka, not Barbarian. Silly assumptions in a Barbie thread. Carry on.

  12. Here is a review I did last week, that I was pretty proud of. Tried to avoid play by play and just explain why this match is good. https://prowrestlingsuperblog.wordpress.com/2016/01/28/aj-styles-vs-cm-punk-iwa-ms-8th-anniversary-show-10232004/ AJ Styles vs CM Punk (IWA-MS 8th Anniversary Show, 10/23/2004) Let’s get this out of the way first, this match is really great. It’s a great mix of old school and new school to create a modern classic. The Old School This match starts with a collar and elbow lock up and moves into matwork. The first 1/3 of the match is spent with Punk attacking AJ’s arm with submissions. AJ gets some counters and it’s a well laid out slow build to set up the rest of the match. There is a lot of neat old school things while working the arm, like AJ whipping Punk into the corner while Punk holds on and viciously drags AJ to the mat. Later on CM Punk misses a move and his neck is hurt. This means that each wrestler has a focus for their offence and an easy way to get counters. Through out the match both men go back to the other’s injury to survive the contest. By the way, AJ Styles has an amazing dropkick. It’s Jim Brunzell level. The New School How does Punk injure his neck? A missed tope. Of course a lot of the offense is not old school. Instead of lariats by AJ, we get discuss lariats. There is a plancha, a tope, plus all of CM Punk and AJ Style’s trademark offense. There is no true heel or face in this match either and the crowd is split. A Modern Classic The first comeback by AJ is such a great sequence after numerous awesome hope spots. It starts with AJ being able to toss Punk to the floor. He goes for a plancha, but Punk moves. Punk goes for a tope, where he moves which injures his neck. One of my favourite moments of the match is AJ going for his Asai Moonsault into a Reverse DDT that is countered by Punk grabbing the injured arm. Punk then tries a suplex, but he can’t do it with his injured neck. We move on for some great nearfalls, before AJ is able to hit that Asai Moonsault into a Reverse DDT, but it was on the floor. That looked amazing. It lead to a very dramatic 19 count where Punk got into the ring at the last second. The finishing sequence is really hot. AJ goes for the Styles Clash, but Punk gets into the corner. Since that didn’t work, AJ goes for a superplex. Punk tries to counter with a Pepsi Plunge, but the injured neck allows AJ to fight out. A Tornado DDT is thrown off and AJ hits two discus lariats for a huge nearfall. A Shining Wizard by Punk gets two, then Punk’s Anaconda Vice gets a dramatic tap out submission. AJ’s arm was too injured to survive. Rating: **** 1/2
  13. Thanks for making the threads Dylan.
  14. I started my blog and at first I was doing play by play, but I don't think that is what people want. I know just try to explain why something is good or bad. I know when I read reviews I skip the play by play parts and just read the analysis.
  15. My review of the mini opener of TripleMania V-B on Monday Minis. https://prowrestlingsuperblog.wordpress.com/2016/02/01/pentagoncito-mini-mankind-mini-goldust-vs-octagoncito-chivito-rayada-mini-cibernetico-aaa-61597/
  16. I thought the story was that they were pissed when Austin & Rock left, so they never want to be in a position where a wrestler is bigger than the WWE ever again.

Details on how to vote will come out in March
  19. Yep. These are the nominees, it is not an open vote. I feel we did get quite a good cross section.
  20. Thanks. I don't watch that promotion, so I wonder what Kris, Pete and Tim's thoughts on them?
  21. It’s time for the second annual Pro-Wrestling Super Show Awards. The nominations were picked by Kris Zellner, Pete Schirmacher, Tim Livingston, and Steven Graham on this episode. Please listen to the episode for a great discussion on each nominee, plus an overview of 2015 and a look forward to 2016. The results will be revealed on the February edition of the podcast, so get your votes in now! Head on over to P2BN to get your votes in!!! http://placetobenation.com/pwss59/
  22. Real life dragons too.
  23. That's exactly my point as in it's just a fact of life so why would someone take issue with it being pushed as fact in a wrestling context? No idea, that's silly. If you accept an Irish whip than you have to accept a triangle choke.
  24. Please expand upon that? Of course MMA moves are effective in real life, they work in real fights.
  25. Yes. It's called Road to WrestleMania and is airing live on the Network like those two previous ones. First Toronto special event in a decade. Smaller arena too, so crowd should be insane. Matt there is a rumour it's Brock vs Harper????? ?Holy shit!
