  1. Like all wrestlers, he will be back within a year.
  2. The only consolation is that one day Vince will die and he better hopes that there is no afterlife because I don't think there is any religion on this planet that would predict a happy "beyond" for him.
  3. Which would be weird because Bruce told them "I looooooooooove you".
  4. On the women's side it is barely a contest.
  5. I think the thing that Meltzer has said about the Pillman worked-shoot in the past was that the only one making any money from it was himself as it boosted his newsletter sales.
  6. Marc Mero's SSP looked pretty safe, I thought. He usually did it tucked, which I assume is easier, but still.
  7. Well, there is the reverse screw-job of David Sammartino.
  8. Ok, I misremembered that, still, this has bad idea written all over it. Robert Gibson also was not very mobile last I saw him, so Ricky Morton had to work for three people.
  9. So two people around 70 with a history of heart issues? What could go wrong... How about making it an eight man tag and adding Jerry Lawler and Bill Eadie?
  10. At what point did the ring announcers stopped saying where the wrestlers are hailing from and what they are weighing? Okay, they have not announced the weight of the women for a long time (because talking about the weight of women is sexist?), but at least yesterday, they did this for the men as well plus no more billing where the people are from.
  11. The agent that came up with that spot / okayed it should be fired.
  12. It probably took some time for them to ensure that they are not the ones getting worked when jumping on the NFT train.

The "this is real, this is straight edge" (WrestleRave, I think) promo? That was nothing like this promo besides Punk being bloody.

I hope Tony Khan delivers more than Goldberg turning heel.
  15. For Austin Aries every new promotion means another bridge to burn.
  16. Jesus, that one would even be stupid if it didn't happen is Saudi Arabia (remember the Berzerker trying to stab the Undertaker?). That's on a level with Randy Orton trying to break Edge's neck with a lat pulldown machine (that's how Wikipedia calls it, I don't know if that is the proper term) at Wrestlemania 36, a week or two after the Chris Benoit Dark Side of the Ring episode aired (the match was shot a day or two after the episode aired).
  17. A lot of the things Nana did 15-20 years back could get an indy promotion "cancelled". Could you imagine someone doing stuff like ROH did with Nana (et al.) and Jade Chung in 2005?
  18. So I guess "Cody and Brandi used to be All Elite"?
  19. Looking at demographics (if you trust them, of course), it's the same people watching as 25 years ago (just 80% dropped of the wagon over the years), so you might say that we all grew older. But I cannot fathom how the frattiest of fratboys did not go "this is stupid, let's go get drunk and hit on girls until we score" during some of those segments. I (though I should mention that I was the opposite of a fratboy) dropped of quickly after WWF came back on TV while being off the air for most of 98 (coming back with Survivor Series).
  20. I would put the end of the "good" run earlier. A bit after King of the Ring, they started doing unbearably boring, stupid four way segments with Vince, Austin, Undertaker and Kane that took half of the show. Plus, you know, choppy, choppy, your pee pee.
  21. damn, that's rich
  22. I would agree if Raw did not do such great ratings in 98 and 99. A couple of years ago, I tried to watch through that period of shows and while they were hot in the first half of 98, starting from the summer, the shows became garbage that it makes me questions humanity that they did such good numbers.
  23. Okay, but is this a new thing? I feel that this is going on for 20 years now. How long did it take until they finally gave Jeff Hardy a real chance? How did they book Benoit and Rey when they had the belt? How did they react when Zack Ryder got himself over huge by his silly youtube show? Cesaro was multipe times at most one win or good angle away from being a hot main eventer. Remember how Danielson was booked because they thought he was a B+ player, not deserving the reaction he got?
  24. I was wondering how they came up with the number of 15, considering that he only debuted the Ziggler gimmick in late 2008 and he never wrestled in the Rumble as Spirit Squad Nicky until I realized that they probably are counting the "Greatest Royal Rumble Ever" as well.
