  1. This struck me to the extent that this opening and set design went all out in production and presentation, but eventually Thunder became an after thought and ends up as a watered down Nitro set with a different color scheme. RATING: Thunder rolls (downhill) and no lighting strikes.
  2. it's funny to see Loss have the same thoughts as me about parts of this match. I was thinking during the match that this started out as the best possible ECW Arena brawl, but was going to add that it devolved into the worst type of AJPW main event with the move-move-move without any transitions. I almost got my year's quota of power bombs in the final stretch. Even with that criticism, I really enjoyed it and it would be something I'd like to revisit later. RATING: Three to Four unprotected head shots.
  3. This otherwise fun angle is ruined for me by Shawn's reaction as he is being pulled into the casket. He continues to hold the mic like he's doing an interview, without struggle and has the insincere "oh, no. not the Undertaker!" expression and vocals as he's pulled in. Rating: At least he's gone in a couple of months.
  4. Wasn't excited for this at all. If it would have happened right after the release from prison in 95/96 I would have been more invested. But it wasn't quite the attitude era yet and Iron Mike definitely wasn't representative of the new generation. Even the payoff was sub-par. Rating: Ludicrous
  5. To parrot, Loss: "Just the finish, which looks messed up, of the NAO beating the Headbangers. Cactus and Chainsaw Charlie come out and run them off. " Rating: Middle-aged and crazy.
  6. In real-life this is offensive and would be headline news if it were a celeb, but this is fake 'rasslin and the Vince's think it's LOL funny. This was put on for the Goldust shtick as the match is short and horrible. Scorp's opening punches certainly didn't make me believe he was legit pissed. if he was, this would have at least been interesting. Rating: Luna can be adorable.
  7. This is apex Austin, but twenty-seconds I could do without. Rating: 3.16
  8. Flair is brilliant here. He may need a heartbeat for an entertaining match, but he could still cut a promo on a broomstick. To be fair, Hart was the perfect sparring partner here, but Flair in the Dome wins by knockout. Rating: Best promo of the year so far.
  9. This is when I started becoming a Jericho fan -- something that has since left me. Yes, more of an angle than a match. Jericho is a whiner and DDP is over as shit. Rating: Brought back memories.
  10. This struck me as what a WWE-produced MMA company would look like. Nothing really more to say. Rating: Added to provide context to Frye/Inoki I imagine. Nothing I would want to see in full.
  11. I agree with Kevin as the video package made me want to see more Choshu. Haven't really followed NJPW closely in the past so the moments included really didn't have an emotional connection to me although the feel of the video itself was emotional. Rating: Important moment in 1998.
  12. Nothing much to add here as my reactions are pretty much a mesh of the previous eight comments. This does seem like one of the better Dome junior matches I've seen. I agree with everything Loss said about Ohtani's lack of emotional growth and Dragon being stagnate. I may be remembering incorrectly, but I believe the La Magistral significance and why the crowd was popping for it was that Dragon beat him with that move in previous matches. I could be wrong. Anyway, four days into the year and this is my current MOTY. Rating: Something to revisit.
  13. This match pretty much defines Indies in general. One guy tries to get all of his stuff in that mostly contains of moonsault variations (Moore). One guy is polished, looks like a wrestler and is just waiting to be discovered (Hardy). One guy looks good, but is green as grass (Venom). One guy is an aging indy vet who does ridiculously risky moves to get noticed (Cham Pain). Moore is lost and tries to tag in Hardy after about 30 seconds of being in the ring, to the point Hardy shrugs him off twice before giving in. This had the most indy finish ever with Cham Pain running into Venom, but instead of the recipient of the errant blow, the perpetrator gets mad and it costs them the match. Then the babyface gets on the mic and panders to the fans. Rating: Nothing I'd need to watch again.
  14. Also can you fix my spelling on "Chronologically" in the title

  16. I watched this last night and a couple of things stood out: 1. The kids want to hurry home and watch Halloween Havoc, but it's Halloween, a week AFTER Havoc happened. 2. I imagine this is what Schiavone acts like in real life minus turning into a monster.
  17. The Valiant/Lawler Mother's Day skit is on the 1990 Yearbook.

  20. I'd like to see a list ranked by Average Vote. I think Flair would still be number one as he is the only wrestler to get a single-digit average vote, but It'd still be interesting to see.
  21. Towards the end this become more like Drunk History w/ Dave Prazak. Hmm .... Okay now I request an episode of BTS where Kris, Bix and the guest are all drunk.
  22. Talk about someone who knows where the bodies are buried.
  23. No I watched episode two and tapped out. More of the same with 5x more F bombs. Not remotely funny. Edge and Christian's show does have its moments however. The cold open to this weeks episode was amusing.
  24. and a bear
